Ananya POV
I was woken up by somebody kissing my cheeks, chin, nose, and forehead. First, I thought it was an irritating hair of something, so I tried to swat it away from my cheeks.
But by the time, it reached my nose, I realized it must be my dashing husband. So, I act like I am still asleep.
He leaves kisses all over my face, unenviably my resolve crumples under his soft caresses.
"Hum jante Hain ki aap nahi so rahin Hain." (I know that you aren't sleeping.) Karn whispers in my ear, as he trails kisses, under my ear and on my neck and the tattoo there.
"Toh?" (So?) I ask.
"Hum Surya dev ki puja kar ne ja rahein Hain." (I was going to offer prayers to lord Surya dev.) He informs me.
"Hum bhi chaleien?" (Can I also come?) I open my eyes to look at him.
"Aapko Kya lagta Hain, humne aapko kyun uthaya hai?" (Why do you think, I woke you up?) he raises an eyebrow.
I instantly get up to get ready. Doing everything speedily.
But before I go to bath I tell him, "Karn?"
"Haan?" (Yes?) his voice returns.
"Yeh wali dhoti pehen lijiye." (Wear this dhoti, na.)
"Kyun, Kya gad- bad hai, meri dhoti Mein?" (Why, what is wrong with my dhoti?) He asks walking over to me.
"Meri ichcha thi ki aap yeh pehente, baaki aapki marzi hai." (I wished that you wore this, rest is up to you.) I tell him before walking in to bath.
When I walk back in the room, after tying my saree. Settling my chain and ear rings, I look in the mirror, to find that Karn was staring at me, from where he was standing. It was like he was seeing me for the first time.
"Kya?" (What?) I ask.
"Aapne kaisi saree peheni hai?" (What kind of saree have you worn?)
"Koi dikat hai? Kaliyuga mein aise bhi saree pehente hai." (Is there a problem? In Kaliyuga, this kind of saree is also worn.) I look down myself.
"Nahi Bahut Khoobsurat hai, bas aise kabhi dekha nahi tha na, isliye puchcha." (No, it looks very pretty, just that I had never before seen this kind of saree, that is why I asked.) Karn says, his expression genuine.
"Oh!" I exclaim in relief.
"Chalein?" (Should we move?) He asks.
"Awashya." (of course.)
We decided that we will walk to the banks, it's nearby as also.
"Sahfed kyun?" (Why white?) he asks after some time.
"Sahfed sabse payara rang hota hai na? Shanti ka Pratik." (White is a lovely color, right? Its' a symbol of peace.) I answer.
He hums agreeing, he guides us through a short path. He comes here daily, of course he knows short route and all.
"Payara ko Kya keh tein hai angrezi mein?" (What do you call 'payara' in English?) He asks.
"Lovely. Pyaar ko Love keh tein hai." ('Pyaar' is love.) I answer.
The rest walk was spent silently, except for few exchange of words.
Once, we reached there, I realized that the son was about to rise. We were just at time. I sighed in relief; he wasn't late because of me.
"Aap pani mein kyun jayengi? Saree kharab ho jayegi." (Why should you go in the water? Your saree will get destroyed)
"Thori dur hi jaungi." (I will go a little only.) I tell him, tying my saree, such that it rises above, a little more than before.
"Hum aapko rok toh nahi sakte." (I can't stop you right?) He shrugs.
I shake my head laughing a little.
"Jaisi aapki ichcha." (However, you wish.) He shrugs and we pray.
Surya dev is not only Karn's God but also his father. His prayer is very important. I needed to pray to him. He has double role in our life. An important figure in my husband's life.
I pray for my husband, this pleasing life and well- being of my family.
Once, we were done with the offerings we had just stepped out of Ganga, the sun felt hasher then it was a few seconds ago.
We realized; it was Surya Dev's way of telling us that we are being blessed by him. We once again thanked him and decided to start for the return journey.
Third POV
Rani Kunti and Maharani Gandhari were looking after the preparation of breakfast. After all, it was their first breakfast with their new daughter- in- law.
They were concocting everything, so that it came out to be perfect, in every way possible. They didn't want anything to be incompetent.
They had been settling the last thing, on the table when Maharaj, Maha Mantri and Maha Mahim, entered the dining room.
The new entries were surprised to see the number of dishes and their semblance on the table. It was all very posh, even for the royal family.
Following them were the, Pandeva's and Duryodhana, they were chatting about something, more like playfully arguing. They had a similar reaction like the previous three.
These princes were followed by Gandhar- Raj, Dushassan, Vikarna and few other Kauravas.
Surprisingly, neither Ananya or Karna were there. The Pandeva's and Duryodhana were smirking at one another, speculating of why their eldest brother and Bhabhi Ma not still there.
"Kahan hai yeh dono?" (Where are these two?) Pitamah asks.
"Pata nahi, Tat shree." (We don't know, uncle.) Rani Kunti answers truthfully.
"Are, Mata, Pitamah. Jyeshta Bhrata Karn, Surya dev ki puja karne ko Gaye honge. Aur Bhabhi ko jaante hue, woh unke saath gayi hongi." (Are, Mother, Grandfather. Elder brother Karn, must have gone to worship Son god. And knowing sister- in- law, she must have accompanied him.) Dushala exclaims.
All of them nod in understanding. The thing was believable.
Not even five minutes had passed when a short laugh, stopped all the conversations in the dining room.
Ananya and Karn entered the room, with Karn the one laughing and Ananya was the one looking amused.
Karn was wearing a cream dhoti that had red and gold lining. He was neither wearing his crown nor many of his jewelries. Looking at him it was obvious he had gone to pray.
Ananya was wearing a what they supposed was a saree, it was like one. White colored one with red and gold border, she was wearing a red blouse along with it. A big deep red was placed on her forehead along with the Sindoor.
Plus she was wearing her Chooda, and a necklace that was a long one and reached below her chest, while the other part of the same necklace was a choker. Ear rings adoring her ears and her Mangal sutra was also present, with her Chudamani, that was tied on her bun.
She was dressed the simplest but looked like a complete queen. The perfect looking queen, the one who was born queen and not made one.
Beside her Karn shined even more, he was a handsome guy and Ananya beside him increased his shine. They were in their humblest form a king and queen could be and looked like a couple of Gods. They didn't look like mere humans.
Karn acknowledged the elder in room by folding his hand and bowing his head before taking his seat between his brothers.
Ananya shook her head at her husband, before walking to Pitamah, she bends touching his feet.
"Pranam Pitamah." (Bless me, Grandsire)
Maha Mahim looked a little surprised, but smiled. "Akhand Saubhagyavati Bhava, Putri" (May you always have a happy married life.)
She then turns to Maharaj, taking his blessing, she walks to her mother and Chachi. And asks for their blessing too.
"Maine kaha tha, aap par yeh sari bahut achchi lagegi." (I had said, this saree would look good on you.)
