Karn POV

I am walking, to breakfast, last night the storm in my head was very big to solve. I had 100's of questions going through my head and I fell asleep due to tiredness of travelling.

"Ang- Raj Karn, Shaadi ki Badhai." (Prince Karn, congratulations on the wedding.) A man greets me. I smile at him, and bend my head little acknowledging the congratulations.

This is the fifth time this is happening. Why are they all wishing me? It's not like I am getting married.

Ugh! This is so stupid. And so annoying.

"Jyeshta, hum aapko khoj Rahe the." (Elder brother, we were looking for you only.) Nakul and Sehdev walk up to me.

"Kya Hua?" (What happened?) I ask.

"Aapne nashta Kiya?" (You had breakfast?) Sehdev asks.

"Nahi" (Nope) I answer.

"Toh chaliye khatein hai." (Come, we will go to eat.) Nakul says, the two catch my hands and drag me away.

They are acting not at all weird. So strange. I wonder what they are up to.

"Yeh lijiye Jyeshta. Mata ne yeh aapke liye bheja hai." (Take this, elder brother. Mother has sent this for you.) Sehdev says.
The plate is filled with various things- Kheer, Puri, fruits, milk, curd, etc.

"Itna sara?" (All these?) I ask.

"Aaj bahut sare kam hai, hume apni puri takat chahiye." (There are many works, we need to do, we need to have complete strength.) Nakul answers.

"Tum Kya kar Rahe ho?" (What are you doing?) Ma asks, she is with Kaki Gandhari.
I was standing in my room, debating on the ways on how to run away from here, so that I don't have to go down there, the wedding will start in an hour.

"Kya kaam hai, ma?" (What work do I need to do, mom?) I ask, turning to her.

"Tum taiyar Ho jao." (You should go get ready.) She orders. No escaping, ugh!

"Ji ma." (Yes mom) I walk towards the rack where my clothes are.

"Kahan ja Rahe ho?" (Where are you going?) she asks.

"Taiyar hone ja rahan Hun." (I am going to get ready) I answer.

"Ye lo kapde, Putra." (Here are the clothes, son.) Kaki Gandhari intervenes.

"Mere wale Mein Kya dikat hai?" (What is wrong in my clothes?) I question.
The clothes on the plate look weird.

"Dwarka Parivar ne tumhare liye khas banwanya hai." (The family of Dwarka has got this made specially for you.) She answers.

I sigh and walk to her, taking the plate from her. There is a lower like thing, Ananya wore and something yellow.

"Yeh Kaise pehena hai, ma?" (How do you wear this, mom?) I question.

She picks the yellow thing from the plate. "Woh pehen kar aao." (Wear that and come.)

I shake my head and follow her order, no point of defying them.
This feels weird to wear, I mean it sticks to my leg, it never happened in Dhotis.

I walk to them, still looking at the lowers. "Yeh Kya hai?" (What is this?)

"Pajama." Ma answers. "Ab idhar aa." (Now come here.) She calls.

I walk in front of her and she helps me get it on, it is sort of put on like an armor. Cool.
Kaki Gandhari is gone, wonder where she is?

"Ab beitho shishe ke samne." (Now, sit in front of the mirror.) She instructions. I sit in front of mirror closing my eyes.

"Rani Kunti koi madd chahiye?" (Queen Kunti, do you need any help?) a voice asks and my eyes snap open and I turn around.
It's Mata Radha.

"Mata?" (Mother?) I call.

"Haan Putra?" (Yes son?)

"Aap yahan kaise?" (What are you doing here?)

"Aapne Putra ke shaadi ke liye nahi aayegi?" (Won't she come for her son's wedding?) Ma interrogates.

"Putra ki shaadi?" (Son's wedding?) my eyebrows furrow.

"Aur nahi toh Kya?" (What else?) Kaki Gandhari asks, entering the room along with a silk cloth kept on a plate.

"Par... Par... Aapka Putra toh main Hun." (But... But... I am your son.) I frown.

"Wah Putra, kitni badi baat bata di tumne." (Wow son, you figured out such a big thing.) Ma laughs dryly.

"Meri shaadi?" (My wedding?) I whisper.

"Haan. Putra." (Yes son.) Mata smiles at me in the mirror.

"Mujhe kisine bataya Kyun nahi?" (Why didn't anyone tell me?) I ask.

"upahar ke tarah dena tha isse Putra.?" (We wanted to give you this as a surprise gift.) Kaki asks.

Ma and Mata start to tie the silk cloth Kaki bought on my head; they are tying it in form of a turban.

"Yeh Ho Gaya." (This is done.) Mata says, once it is done.

"Meri shaadi Ho rahi hai." (I am getting married.) I whisper again. I am not able to believe it.

"Haan Putra." (Yes son.) Ma whispers back.

"khade Ho jao." (Stand up.) Mata orders and Ma picks the Angvastram and guides me to wrap it around myself.

Once done the three ladies beam at me and I look at myself in the mirror. I look handsome to say at least.

A guard informs us that Pitamah is here, we let him in and he walks in.

"Tum bahut hi achche lag Rahe Ho, Putra." (You are looking quite good.) Pitamah complements me, slapping me on the back. I blush under his intense gaze.

From the corner of my eye, I see the three ladies walk a little away, whispering something amongst themselves.

"Shaadi, ek bahut hi bada charan hota hai, jivan Mein, Putra." (Wedding is a very big step in life, son.) Pitamah says.
"Tum Kuru parivar ke sabse bade putra Ho. Tumhare upar bahut bhar hai, lekin tumhare saath Ananya Putri hai, who Kuru Parivar ki sabse badi bahu bane ke liye sahi hai. Asha hai tum dono ka jivan sukhi- sukhi bite." (You are the eldest son of Kuru family. You have a lot of responsibility on your shoulder, but you have Ananya daughter, she is the best person to become the eldest daughter- in- law of the Kuru family. I wish that you both live a happy life.)

"Pranipatra." (Greetings) I touch his feet.

"Ayushman bhava." (May you live long.) He blesses me. "Yeh lo Putra" (Here you go, son.) he raises a sword towards me. Still on my knee I raise both my palms up, he places the sword there and I touch it to my forehead before rising.

"Chalo ab shaadi ka samay Ho raha hai." (Come on, it is time for getting married.) He says and the three ladies follow us, diverting their way in middle.

Suddenly the five of my brothers along with Duryodhana, formed a 'V' all around me, letting me be in the center and front.
I looked at them, they all were wearing the same styled, dress what ma called Kurta- Pajama. There was a strange shawl like look in the front in it, it had 3 layers of folds. The bottom matched mine, just theirs were more lose.

Just the difference was the color. Yudhishthira was a light violet colored one. Bheema had a yellow one. Duryodhana had an orange one. Arjun's was lightest pink. Sehdev's was navy blue. Nakul's was dark green.

I glare at them, "Tumhe iske bare Mein pata tha na?" (You guys knew about this right?) I ask. All of them smirk at me. "Kaise bhai Ho tum log?" (What type of brothers are you guys?)

"Aapke hi chhohte bhai Hain" (Just your little brothers') Nakul answers, winking at the girls around. He will never change.

Bheema whacks him on the head, "Aise baat kartein hai, Jyeshta Bhrata." (Is this how you talk to your eldest brother?)

"Phal toh Jyeshta kha rahein hai, aapko Kyun itna gussa aap Kyun Ho rahe hain?" (Elder brother is on fruits, why are you getting angry?) Sehdev asks.

Though he is a calm guy and thinks of results, he enjoys to relax in between. Bheema narrows his eyes at Sehdev, who is walking on his opposite side.
