Karn POV

I am sitting on carriage, beside Pitamah. He said he wanted me to travel with him, I obliged. As also I could concentrate if on a horse.
We are on our way to Dwarka, we have almost reached there.

Pitamah, on the way, asked questions here and there, even told me about a few incidents from his childhood. He is a nice guy; I could almost distract myself from talking with him.

"Jyeshta" (Elder brother.) Yudhishthira voice calls.

"Bolo Yudhishthira" (Say Yudhishthira) I urge him to speak.

"Phal khaiyega?" (Will you have some fruits?) he questions.

I had felt sick at stomach, didn't have anything.

"Kucha kha lijiye Jyeshta. Thak jaayiga. Dwarka Mein shaadi hai" (Have something, elder brother. You will get tired. There is a wedding in Dwarka) He insists. Such a nice brother I have, but what will I tell him?
I am in love with the girl, whose wedding I am going to?

I sigh and nod.
He hands me some fruits and I have them silently.

"Itne chintit rahoge toh, mujhse zyada bade lagoge." (If you stay this worried, you will look older than me.) Pitamah jokes and I smile a little. I had finished my fruits and now we were entering the gates of Dwarka.

"Is dono pariwar ki pehli shaadi hai." (it's the first wedding of these two families.) He continues after few seconds, "Tumhe itna udas nahi lagna chahiye." (You shouldn't look this sad.)

"Aapko aise Kyun laga ki main udas Hun?" (Why did you think that I am sad.) I ask, surprised.

"Hum aapke Pitamah Hain," (I am your grandfather.) he smirks, turning to look ahead. We have reached the palace of Dwarka.

I take a deep breath and put a smile on my face, the royal family is there to welcome us. All except Ananya, of course she is the bride.

-- Time Skip --

I am walking around the palace, trying to find Ananya. I want to have a look at her, see if she is happy.

"Jyeshta?" (Elder brother?) a voice calls.

"Haan Nakul?" (Yes Nakul?)

"Aap yahan Kya kar Rahe Ho?" (What are you doing here?) he looks nervous. I wonder why?

"Mujhe Ananya se milna tha." (I want to meet Ananya.) I look at him, confused.

"Par... par unki kal shaadi hai Bhrata." (But... But she has her wedding tomorrow.) He says, panicky.

"Toh? who humari Mitra hai, Kyun nahi baat kar sakte unse hum?" (So? She is our friend, why can't I talk to her?) I ask, raising an eyebrow.

"Bhrata Karn" (Brother Karn) a sweet voice calls. Its Krishna.

"Haan Krishna?" (Yes, Krishna?)

"Main aapko hi khoj raha tha." (I was looking for you only.) Krishna smiles. "Agar tum chahte he toh ja sakte Ho Nakul." (If you want you can go Nakul.)

"Ji Bhrata." (Yes, brother) He nods and walks away.

"Aap bhaut hi vichalit lag Rahe Ho." (You look very dazed.) Krishna comments.
What do I say? I love you sister, who you are marrying off tomorrow?
He suddenly smirks as if he read my thoughts.

"Tumhe aisa Kyun laga?" (Why do you feel that?) I question.

He smiles, "Aap hamare Bhrata Hain." (You are my brother.)

"Tumhe koi samajh paya hai?" (Has anybody understood you?)

"Logon ne koshish ki hai." (People have tried) He shrugs and I shake my head, he continues, "Fir bhi aapko koi baat sata rahi hai." (Then also, there is something that is worrying you.)

"Bas Ananya ko lekar thodi chinta thi, yeh sab bahut achank tha." (I was just a little worried about Ananya, all this was very sudden.) I shrug, I just had my instinct telling me to tell him the truth.

"Hmm. Humne jise chuna, woh usse bahut pasanda aya. Aur who ladka bhi is se behd pyaar karta hai." (Hmm, the guy we have chosen, was quite liked Ananya. And the boy also loves Ananya a lot.)

The words felt like knives. They straight pierced my heart.
I swallow hard. I wonder how will I survive tomorrow.

"Pyaar, bahut hi vichitra cij hai. Achanak se Ho jati hai." (Love is a weird thing. It happens suddenly.) He muses. "Par woh ek vishvas pe adharit hoti hai. Ek Bandhan pe adharit hoti hai." (But it's set on reliance. It is formed on a bond.)

"Jante hai Bhrata, pyaar ek aisi cij hai ki woh har chunati par kar leti hai, bas dono ke bich, woh atut Bandhan aur woh vishvas hona chahiye." (Do you know brother; love is something that possess a power to pass every hurdle, just what needed is a non- breakable bond among the two lovers and a reliance between them too.) He contemplates.

"Aur yeh tum Hume Kyun Bata Rahe Ho?" (And you are telling me this because?) I question.

"Pyaar toh aap bhi karte hona Bhrata?" (You are also in love, right, brother?) he questions back.

I stare at him. What?
How did he know that?
Does he know who I love?
Does he want to show me something?
Ugh! What is he going to say to me, regarding it?

"Kya keh Rahe Ho, Govind?" (What are you saying, Govind?) I question.
"Ki hum kisi se pyaar kartein hai?" (That I love somebody?)

"Aur nahi toh Kya, Bhrata?" (What else, Brother?) he inquires and I contemplate on what he said.

"Par-" (But-)

"Kya aap sahi Mein baat ko galat sabit kar paoge?" (Can you really prove my point wrong?) he asks. Thinking about it, I shake my head.

"Jo hum bol Rahe the uske bare Mein sochiyega zarror, Bhrata." (Think about what I said, without fail, Brother.) He gets up.
"Aastha hi aisi cij hai, Bhrata, jo Bandhan aur vishvas dono banati hai." (Faith is the only thing, in this world that forms both reliance and bond.)

"Par pyaar aur Aastha ka Kya sambandh hai?" (But what is the relation between faith and love?) I ask. "Mere matlab hai, pyaar Mein kaise Aastha ki avayshakta hoti hai?" (I mean, what type of faith does a person in love require?)

"Ek doosre ke prati Aastha bhrata, aapne pyaar par Aastha." (Faith for one another, Brother, faith on your love.)

"Aur Mujhe kaise pata ki usse Mujhe pe aastha hai ya nahi? Who mujhse pyaar karti hai ki nahi?" (And how do I know, whether she has her faith on me or not? Does she even love me or not?)

"Aap ko us par Aastha hai?" (You have faith in her?) he asks.

"Haan" (Yes.) I answer instantly.

"Toh fir?" (Then?) he inquires.

"Aastha toh dosti Mein bhi hoti hai na?" (Faith is also there in friendship, right?)

"Hoti hai, par Kya aapko aapne saare mitra par utna hi vishvas hai, jitna aapne pyaar par?" (Yes, it is there but do you have the same faith in your friends like you do on your love?)

"Nahi" (No.) I say after some time.
I believe on Ananya, more than anything and it's not same as what I have for my friends.

"Par Mujhe nahi pata ki who Mujhse pyaar karti hai ya nahi." (But I don't know if she loves me or not.)

"Sab hum hi bata denge, toh aap Kya kijiyega?" (If I tell you everything, what will you do?) he smiles, "Aise Jyeshta, Aksar jab hum kisi se pyaar kartein Hain, hum unhe kai aise baat batatein hai, jo hum sab ko nahi batate." (By the way elder brother, many times, when we love someone, we tell them things that we normally don't tell people.)

He winks at me before walking away, leaving me with a storm of thoughts.
