Karn POV
I was content. I had two mothers, one Kaki who accepted me. What else is needed?
Ah, right! My friend Duryodhana, wait he is my cousin. Ugh! This is so confusing.
I was walking towards Ananya's room. It was evening, I had spent the day with my ma while she went away. I hadn't seen her after that. I was still a little hesitant with today's events.
What does she think? Will we be awkward? We were fine in the kitchen. But then Mom was there. Oh God! Help me.
Why am I even thinking so much? As also I am not going to stop myself from going there or something, na?
Obviously not, you enjoy her company to much. My treacherous heart says.
Oh Don't be so melodramatic, I agree. She is intelligent and smart and a wonderful lady. That was my brain. I don't believe this. Ugh!
I entered her room; she had her legs against walls. What is with her and strange sleeping styles.
She is wearing a green thing right now; it is lower as well as some top. She is wearing a white top, just like the one she was wearing the day she came. Where does she get so many dresses from? I swear these girls love dresses more than men.
She was as yesterday humming something while, she was reading a book, holding it with one hand while other was roaming on her gun. They are beautiful. I remember the other day when she tried to teach me shoot.
She had handed me the gun and fixed its place on my shoulder. When I had bended due to its weight, she hit me on the shoulder and glaring at me straightens my shoulder.
Correcting my hands once again, she instructs me. I was bought nearly 25 m ahead or our original position. I had to look from the eye- hole of gun, aim and shoot.
I follow her and the bullet hit the second circle from inside. I was amazed that I did it. She encourages me to do it once again.
I had looked at her surprised of her confidence in me, at that time. But now I knew about her confidence in me.
I had aligned to shoot again but this time, she had moved to my level, keeping her head at same angle as mine. She looked at the target and seconds before I fired, she moved the gun few inches.
And the bullet landed on the inner circle, I smiled at her which she returned.
It was a little weird, because I had almost lost my concentration on her. Such a devil for lady.
I am broken from my thoughts when I hear a thud. Ananya's book that she held in her hands above her head, had fallen on her face and hand was still at the same position.
I couldn't help it I laughed, a full- on laugh erupted from me.
Startled by my laugh, I saw her raise herself from her position, one look at me and she falls back with a huff. Still laughing I walk towards her.
"Bahut hasi aarahi hai?" (It's very funny, right?) she questions. I nod.
She sighs and pats the area beside her, on the bed. She wants me to sit there. After contemplating for two minutes, I take up her offer.
She peaks out of the book when the bed creaks, a little, as I claim it. "Aapko awaj nahi Karna chahiye, aap toh yodha Hain." (You shouldn't have made noise; you are a warrior.)
"Hum aapko bhayabhit nahi Karna chate the." (I didn't want to scare you.) I reply.
She hides back. "Kya hua?" (What happened?)
"Mere pas ek samasya hai." (I have a problem.) She replies after a while.
"Kya?" (What?) I ask, now this is serious. SHE has a problem.
"Ek minute" (one minute) she says before getting up. And walking to the doors. I hear her dismiss everyone. She closes the door of the room and comes to me.
She walks back to me, and sits beside me and starts to talk, "Main aap ko jo baton woh Kisi ko bhi pata nahi chalna chahiye." (Whatever I tell you must not be known by anyone else.)
I nod and she continues, "Main bhavishy se Hun, toh jo bhi yahan ho raha hai aur aage hoga, uska Mujhe Gyan hai." (I am from future, so I know whatever is happening here and will happen.) I look at her shocked.
Wh...What?
"Mujhe waise mat dekhiye." (Don't look at me like that.) She purses her lips. "Shakuni bahut kuch karta hai. Kuch bhi achcha nahi." (Shakuni does awful lot of things. Nothing good.)
"Ha! Woh kise nahi pata hai? Uska chera dekh kar hi ghin aati hai." (Ha! Who doesn't know it? One look at his face and you will feel disgusted.)
She nods, "Sahi Mein, yaar. Aise, aap toh jante hai ki Duryodhana kaisa hai. Par aapne mama shree ke changul mein woh bahut se aise kam kar baiethega, jo achche nahi hai. Humme usse galat sangati mein jane se rokna hai." (Really man. By the way, you already know what kind of person Duryodhana is. But in his uncle's clutches, he does many deeds that aren't good. We need to stop him from falling into bad group.)
"Main kuch bhi karne ko tayar hun." (I am ready to do anything.) I tell her.
She upright slapped me. I looked at her in shock.
"Agar maine woh shabd fir sune toh main nahi rukungi, yeh fir se karne ke liye." (If I hear those words again, I am not going to stop, from doing this again.)
"Usse ek Pita chahiye. Ek bhai. Ek bade ka saya chahiye. Ek aisa insaan jo usse sahi or galat mein farakh karne mein madd kare." (He needs a father. A Brother. An adults' shadow. One such person, who will tell him the difference between good and bad, help him.)
"Usse ek aisa insaan nahi chahiye, jo usse marg dikhane ke bagaye, aapna jaan gawane ko tayar rahe." (He doesn't need a man who on place of showing him a road, gets ready to lose his life.)
"Par-" (But-) she cuts me off.
"Nahi Radheya, yeh mitra dharma nahi hai jo aap bata rahein Hain. Mitra dharma, ek doosre ko marg dikhana hota hai, Kaunteya." (No, Radheya, this is not considered friendship. The dharma in friendship is when you show roads and paths to one another, Kaunteya.) She scolds me. And then, she calls me Kaunteya and Radheya in one line.
"Theek hai?" (Is it alright?)
I nod. "Theek hai." (Ok. Fine.) She hums.
"Toh Hume Kya Karna hai?" (So, what do we need to do?) I ask her.
"Hume, usse Pandeva's ke saath milana hai." (We need to join him with the Pandeva's.) She answers, her eyes having the determinant look I see when I look in the mirror.
"Duryodhana ko Pandeva's se irshya hai. Unki Ekta ko lekar, unko diye jane wale pyaar ko lekar." (Duryodhana is sort of jealous of Pandeva's. Because of their togetherness, the love they get, etc.) I inform her.
"Tohi is ka yeh matlab hai ki, Hume Pandeva's Mein aur Duryodhana Mein, ek doosre ke liye vishwas jagana hoga." (This means that, we need to ignite Loyalty among the Pandeva's and Duryodhana.) She concludes, and I hum in agreement.
