Ananya POV

I wake up when I feel sunlight on my face. I am on a seat near Bua Kunti's bed. Remembering about yesterday's events, I walk closer to her bed. She is moving around a little, she must be waking up.
I walk to where the pitcher of water was kept. Taking a glass of water, I walk back to where the bed is.

"Panni" (Water) she whispers.
I help her sit up and hand her the glace of water which she gulps in a go.

She then looks up at me, surprised to me she loses her hold on the glass. I catch it before it can tumble to the ground.

"Kya Hua Bua?" (What happened, Bua?) I ask, checking her temperature. She is fine.

"Toh kal wo sab hua. Maine Sapna nahi dekha" (So, everything really happened yesterday. I didn't dream.) she says, obviously disturbed.

"Haan woh Hua." (Yes, it did happened.) I confirm it.
"Par aap yeh bataiye aap khana kyun nahi kha rahin hai theek se?" (But you tell me, why weren't you having food properly?) I scold her. "Kal aapko bukhar aagaya tha. Maine nagi hoti toh kya hota? Aap aapna dhyan nahi rakhiyega toh kaise chalega?" (You had a fever yesterday. Had I not been there, what would have happened? If you don't look after yourself, how will it work?)

She gives me an apological smile.
"Usne kuch bola?" (Did he say anything?) She asks softly.

"Use thoda samay dein, Bua. Woh jawab dega. Aur aapko manega, dekhna." (Give him some time, Aunt. He will give his answer. And he will accept you, you will see.) I tell her, squeezing her hand.

"Chalo tumhe kahin le jana hai." (Come I need to take you somewhere.) She smiles. "Tayar ho kar aajao." (Get ready) She orders.

"Aap theek toh haina kahin jane ke liye?" (You are alright to go somewhere?) I ask.

"Main bahut achchi hun. Jao." (I am perfectly fine. Go) She orders and I follow her.

--time skip—

"Kahan le jarahin hai, Bua" (Where are you taking me, Aunt?) I ask.

"Chalna mere saath." (Come with me.) She says as she drags me somewhere.

We walk into a very beautifully decorated place. It's the temple. I think there was a Shivling there.
Uh! I don't really want to go in there.

"Bua." (Aunt) I say nervously.

She stops sensing my dis- comfort, "Kya Hua putri?" (What happened, daughter?)

"Woh main, shiv ji ki puja nahi karti." (I don't worship Lord Shiva.) I tell her.
It sounds so stupid.

"Kyun?" (Why?) She asks.

"Bas mere Parivar ke mrityu ho gayi, aur fir kabhi Maine unki puja nahi ki, mere mata pita unke bade pujari the." (Just that my family died and I never prayed to him, again. My parents were his big devotee) I whisper.

She gasps. A hand on her mouth. "Yeh... yeh..." she seems distraught, unable to form words.

"Koi baat nahi, Bua. Aap karlo, main yahin hun." (No worries Aunt. You go, I will wait here.)

"Nahi. Nahi. Chalo aaj Krishna ki hi puja kartein hai." (No. No. Come today we will worship Krishna only.)

So, we walk to my room.
I look at her, she has a worried look on her face. I wrap my hand around her shoulder. And squeeze it. She looks sideways at me and smiles gratefully.

When she sees the bare idol she says, "Main kuch phool le kar ke aatin hun." (I will go bring some flowers.) I nod in reply.

I decide to wash the Diya's and the other stands. They are made of Brass.

I was lighting the Diya when a when a heavy gust of wind blew. I protected the lit flame from one side, I was about to drop the match box and cover the other side when a hand came over.

I look at the owner of the hand, and grin widely. It's Karn.

He accepted it, most probably. He returns the smile. Today he looks different. A little more bright, more energetic. Also, he isn't wearing his big crown. Truly speaking he looked better without it.

"Yeh Dek-" (Look at th-) Bua cuts herself off seeing who was in here.

"Kya Hua Bua?" (What happened, Aunt?) I ask.

"Tum Kya kar Rahe ho?" (What are you doing?) she asks her eyes narrowing.

"Yeh Diya jala rahi thi." (Lighting this Diya) I answer her, looking at her, from the corner of my eyes.

She smiles and her eyes sadden a little looking at Karn.
I elbow and motion towards Bua who is starting to sewing a garland. He looked at me nervously, I gave him a deadpan look and he got up sighing softly.

Slowly he walks up to Bua and sits cross leg near her feet, observing her tie the flower together. Bua looks at him surprised.

"Ma?" (Mom?) he asks.

Silent tears fall from her eyes. She smiles widely at her eldest son. I know she is beaming with happiness.

I turn to my idol, smiling like a fool, seeing them together did it to me.

Hey Prabhu! Dhanyavad, inko saath lane ke liye. Ab inhe aage ki zindagi ke liye bhi shakti dena. Aur sab bhi inhe svikar lein. (Hey lord! Thanks, for bringing them together. Now give them strength to live their further life.) I pray.

Sab toh tumhi ne Kiya hai, behena. (All work was done by you, sister.) A voice whispers in my mind.

I know who it is, Fir bhi aapka Ashirwad hai. (Then also, I had your blessings) He just laughs.

"Aaj kuch gaogi nahi?" (Won't you sing anything?) Bua Kunti asks.

I sang, I quite like this song. One of my favorites from Ram bhajans.

"Tumhari avaj kitni achchi hai." (You have such a nice voice) Bua praises. "Haina Karn?" (Am I right Karn?)

"haan." (Yes) He agrees a small smile playing on his lips. I smile at them.

"Main mandir se ayai. Tum aarti lo yahan ki, Putra." (I will be back. Take the aarti, son) Bua orders Karn before walking away.

Karn was taking the aarti when my dupatta got stuck in the table.

When I pulled it, I stumbled back into Karn. His hands wrap around my torso, to prevent me from falling. I gasp in surprise. His hands leave me after a second

"Kshama" (Sorry) I mumble before taking a step ahead but I am pulled back by a sharp force of pull.
