Riddle, Puzzles, Teasers

Hey WRITERS CODE readers!

The team decided to add this bit to the magazine to engage with you, and that's not all! To reward your efforts in solving our riddles, the reader who solves the most will have the pleasure of either a spotlight interview or a book review in our next issue.

To kick this off, whoever solves the most will have their book reviewed by a member of our Pen Pushing Posse team and their book review will be posted in our next issue of the Writers Code.

Note: Repeat answers do not count. If someone already solved a riddle, solve another one. The winner will be announced a month from the publication of this issue.

Let's get down to it!

RIDDLES AND TEASERS

- What kind of word would you invite to a fancy tea party?

- What word allows you to take away two letters and get one in return?

- Brothers and sisters, I have none. But this person's  father is my father's son, who's the person?

- A sundial has the fewest moving parts of any timepiece. Which has the most?

- What five-letter word becomes shorter when you add two letters to it?

- The person who makes it has no need for it. The person who purchases it does not use it. The person who does use it does not know he or she is. What is it?

- There is a house. One enters it blind and comes out seeing. What is it?"

- Out of the eater, something to eat; out of the strong, something sweet.

- What does on four legs in the morning, on two legs at noon, and on three legs in the evening?

- My first displays the wealth ad pomp of kings,
Lords of the earth! Their luxury and ease.
Another view of man, my second brings,
Behold him there, the monarch of the seas!

- Why is a raven like a writing desk?

-This thing all things devours;
Birds, beasts, trees, flowers;
Gnaws iron, bites steel;
Grinds hard stones to meal;
Slays king, ruins town,
And beats mountain down."
