Back To School Hacks
It's that time of year again! School is about to begin and while it can be exciting looking forward to a new school year, it does get a bit overwhelming too, especially when it comes to getting organized.
So here's what we've got for you today: five fantastic back to school hacks that will, we hope, help you kick this school year off with a 'in your face' bang. Without further ado, let's get into it.
Create Your Own Space at Home
This one is perfect especially if you have to stay at home for school during the pandemic. If you're heading back to school, this still comes in handy.
To keep everything organized and in the spirit of performing well both in and out of school, having a dedicated space for all your studying and homework at home really helps.
This doesn't take much. You can get all your supplies from the dollar store. Then set it up in your work space exactly as you like it. Decorate and experiment what things that you like so whenever you sit down for class or to study, you feel at peace.
Having your own space gives you more privacy and is especially helpful and necessary for online study. It'll never feel like a chore because the best part about it is you get to decorate it however you want, so do what makes you happy.
Make your schedule the Lock Screen
This is a good way to keep track of what's coming up and when, and by keeping abreast of this, you're able to plan everything else around your class schedule. Take a screenshot or probably download it and put up as your lock screen, it'll keep you on top of things.
Sites To Keep In Mind
I've got four sites I think every student should know about. If you already know, great job, if you don't, these are the ones you need to bookmark and or download. They'll make things much easier for you.
Mathway.com For those like me who just loathe math, if you didn't already know. Mathway.com solves all kind of math problems with step-by-step explanations.
Textbooknova.com Say goodbye to buying textbooks. With textbooknova, you can get your textbooks absolutely free... for life.
Google Scholar This is one mistake students make when searching for information for school research. Do not use Google search, switch to google scholar and you will find more relevant information straight away.
Amazon Prime is available free for college students or anyone with a .edu email address. Cool right? You can get free kindle books and free two-day shipping.
Plan and Prepare
With the pandemic and the uncertainty around returning to school, it's best to get as much information about school starting, masks, mandates, remote learning and all of them. Some schools are opening up while others are still sticking to the online method. If you're one of those heading back out there, it's best to be proactive and keep safe.
I'd suggest putting together a 'pandemic' kit. Get a stack of masks and gloves ready. Handy sanitizers, hand wash and hand lotions, some hand tissues too. If possible get a couple of bacteria wipes to wipe down chairs and surfaces.
If you're studying from home, take the time to read up on your school's remote learning agenda and make sure you're up to date on all you need to get done for the school year.
Doodling
School can get stressful, and we all have our coping methods. Fidget spinners, music, drawing, painting, whatever it is, plan for it. Telling you it'd be a stress free year is a bold faced lie. Keep your doodling method handy and ready. Compile your playlist, get your drawing book and colouring pens ready, or is it an app? Download it and have it handy.
Sometimes, writing motivational and inspirational affirmations for yourself in bright colours help lift your spirits too. It's not much but it helps, try it out some time.
If you've got more hacks to share, let's hear them in the comment section. Thanks for taking the time to read.
