For those of us unfamiliar with Webtoon, Webtoon is for comics what Wattpad is for us.

In detail, Webtoon is a publishing portal similar to Wattpad but for digital comics.

Wattpad, one of Canada's most prominent tech darlings is being acquired by Naver, the South Korean conglomerate, in a $600 million cash-and-stock deal.

In a recent interview, Allen Lau said Naver will offer Wattpad a chance to get into animation and to grow beyond its now 90 million users.

Naver, is the parent company of Webtoon which will make them siblings...fitting I guess since they're two of the largest reading platforms online right now.

What does that mean for us? Well, nothing in particular so far. The deal is yet to be finalized, but we should see the 600 million dollar worth deal being rubber-stamped sometime in the second quarter of 2021. This move hasn't brought any changes to us yet, but it must mean only great things for us in the future

When two giants come together we can only expect a titan to be spawned, in other words I'm saying we should have high hopes for this new development.
