They finally made it to the lounge and sat down on the couch. Silence filled the air until Samantha said, "I say we split up again and just discuss among ourselves," to which everybody agreed before splitting off.

As they all split into groups of two, Tara, Anika, Chad, and Ethan were talking in the corner by the door. "So, how were your dynamics, guys?" Tara asked the other three.

"Well, everybody had found something at least. We all contributed together," Anika explained.

"I mean, Tara got bit, which sucks cause you did help, probably not as much as last time, but you did," Chad said, to which Tara reluctantly agreed, even though she didn't want that to be her status for this challenge.

On the other side, Amber grew tired of the two corner discussions as they were causing a division while the others were in a different mindset. "Guys, I'm fed up with this whole 'different corners' thing. What's the point at this point?" Amber whispered before standing up and yelling, "Can I say something?"

"I feel like the snake woman picked one of the weakest people and one of the strongest, who had been stacking – no offense, Tara, you're still the best. But it seems like everybody is just taking turns and not pulling their weight, and you two seem to do that the most," Amber said, which made everybody fall silent once again. While Tara on the side felt betrayed by Amber's words even though she didn't mean no offense.

"Let's just vote, and let the cards decide," Amber said, walking over to the couch.

"Well, Chad, do you have anything to say to defend yourself?" Sam asked as Chad placed his hands on his hips. They all moved towards the couch and took their seats, waiting for Chad's response.

"I feel like I can be an extra help for this team. First, I didn't get bitten. Second, I'm the strongest member of the team, so for anything that requires physical assistance, I'm your guy. And third, I may not be smarter than anyone else here, but I can still contribute and help, no matter what," Chad explained, trying to defend himself.

"Well, the first person to be into the challenge is the DareDevil, understood?" Calliope said, holding up Chad's card, and Chad nodded in understanding.

"Which leaves only one slot," Calliope explained.

"Mortimer, how do you feel about this?" Mindy asked, noticing that he was just standing on the side.

"I mean, the voting stuff's her idea," Mortimer says, shifting the question onto Calliope.

"Calliope, do we have to keep doing this?" Wes asks.

"It must be done," says Calliope with an emotionless expression.

Here are some (Not All) of the votes of some people:

Chad voted for Amber.

Ethan voted for Amber.

Wes voted for Himself.

Anika voted for Tara.

Amber voted for Quinn.

"I will now shuffle. Are you ready?" Calliope announces. As she shuffles the votes, the group becomes a little anxious, unsure of who will be chosen to participate in the challenge with Chad. Calliope draws a card, conceals it, and then flips it around.

"The person going into the challenge with Daredevil is... The Detective." This makes everybody's jaws drop. I mean, yeah, Wes got bit, but nobody thought somebody would vote for him. While he felt stupid about voting himself into the challenge because he felt the weakest this round.

Wes and Chad exchange a few possible farewell hugs before getting up and following Mortimer and Calliope out of the arcade to the Challenge area. They are both handed white suits by Mortimer and as they put on the suits, Calliope explains the instructions for the challenge.

"Search the intestines of the great serpent to find the missing pieces of your mosaic. A completed image is at the end of the snake to guide you. The first to do so will be able to retrieve the heart, and the other will be poisoned by the snake woman," she reads before wishing them good luck before both ran into the challenge.

Both of them were now digging through the intestines, trying to find the first piece of their mosaic. However, they couldn't hide their discomfort, and the thought that these were random people's intestines made the task even more gruesome, like something out of a horror movie where one of the victims fell prey to a ruthless killer like Ghostface. (Author's Note: Olivia Reference for all you Scream mega fans😝.)

As Chad diligently searched through the intestines, he had a stroke of luck and found the first tile, followed by another one. He wasted no time in putting them on the wall, making progress in completing his mosaic. On the other hand, Wes seemed to be having a tougher time, struggling to find any tiles. It appeared that this challenge relied heavily on luck and keen observation, which should have been Wes' strong suit, yet he was falling behind for some unknown reason.

Frustration mounted within Wes as he continued to dig through the slippery and unpleasant mess. He couldn't shake the feeling that luck was not on his side today, and it was becoming increasingly disheartening to watch Chad make steady progress while he struggled to even find one piece. Nevertheless, he didn't give up and kept pushing forward, hoping that a change of fortune would come his way. The pressure was on, and the outcome of the challenge hung in the balance.

Fortunately, just when it seemed luck was against him, a stroke of good fortune finally smiled upon Wes. He managed to find two tiles in quick succession while Chad was on his third. With a newfound burst of hope, Chad pushed on, desperately trying to stay in the lead and secure a chance to see his family and friends again.

As Chad triumphantly secured his fourth tile, he was now one step closer to completing his mosaic and winning the challenge. On the other hand, Wes had managed to find his third tile, and with the determination to push through further, he knew he could catch up to Chad and potentially take the lead. However, it still all depended on luck as they both continued to rummage through the intestines, hoping to find the missing pieces that would lead them to victory.

As Wes frantically searched for his last two tiles, the task became increasingly challenging. The pressure weighed heavily on him as he knew that finding those pieces would determine his fate. Despite his best efforts, the tiles seemed to elude him, making the task even more daunting.

On the other hand, Chad was in a similar predicament. He had found four out of five tiles, but the last one remained elusive. Frustration mixed with determination as he combed through the intestines, trying to spot the missing piece and figure out its correct placement on the mosaic.

The competition had reached a nail-biting climax, with Wes and Chad racing neck and neck to complete their mosaics. If Wes could find that elusive last tile, he would have a 50/50 chance of winning the challenge and securing his freedom. However, if Chad managed to figure it out just in time, all his hard work would be in vain, and he would face the deadly consequences of the snake woman's poison.

"Come on, Chad, we've got this!" Chad says, trying to boost his confidence. He thinks that it might help, considering he had a little worry about it.

Until he had another idea, which was to stop thinking like Chad and start thinking like Mindy. This turned out to be a smart idea, and he used that technique, which ended up helping him find the last tile. Using everything in his brain and mindset, he searched for the last tile, and to his surprise, he found it. Chad jumped up and down in excitement upon his discovery, but as he did, the snake woman turned into Wes and started chasing him. Trying to escape and fight her, Chad ran to get the heart.

While trying to fight back and escape, the snake woman jumped Chad when he was off guard and started biting his neck apart. Despite the attack, Chad managed to reach for the heart and ran off. As he fled, he kept saying sorry to Wes over and over again, expressing that Wes was the best damn bud he had ever met before he succumbed to his injuries.

Chad then ran to Calliope and Mortimer, who told him to squish the heart over the snake's head. He quickly did as instructed, and as the artifact glowed, something extraordinary happened.

As the others waited to see who came by, Ethan and Mindy were both holding each other, having the strongest connections with Chad, hoping he had come back and survived. (Author's Note: Just know I forgot to add how Mindy was reacting to her brother being in the challenge, but you know girl was devasted just had to clear that up.)

As they heard footsteps approaching, they all jumped up in joy (Author's Note: YK AMBER DAMN WELL DIDN'T.) to see Chad walking in with the snake's heart. Both Mindy and Ethan were going to hug him, but upon seeing what he was wearing and what was on it, they both backed away and smiled at him, proud of him for surviving.

He smiled at both of them before turning to the group and yelling, "The Chadster takes the challenge and doesn't give up, this proves it!" Chad yelled, while everybody laughed but cheered at him as he put the artifact up on the shelf.

"As much as I'd love to continue this celebration, Wes didn't die in vain. We found this together, and we haven't figured it out yet," Tara explained before handing everybody the note. They all gave it back to her as they tried to find a clue to determine the origin or purpose of the object Tara was holding in her hand.

As they looked around, Anika pointed out a horizon symbol on the wall. Tara walked over to the horizon symbol and placed the object on it, which caused a hidden spot in the wall to open, revealing a box and a note inside. Tara grabbed the box and note as the others walked over to her in anticipation.

"Inside lies the harp of the Lazarus. However, the box can only be opened by finding two brass coins that are hidden throughout Everlock and require an additional task to obtain." Tara reads out, as the others just looked at each other not having a response to finding the object.

Before Quinn spoke up, saying, "This better be worth it, because we're already losing members. With two deaths already, it could be all of us next if we don't hurry up and find these artifacts." Her words hung heavy in the air, causing everyone to almost hold their breath by Quinn's statement.

Author's Note: How are we feeling about the group? What do you think might happen? Sorry these feel rushed by the way.)
