The group was now back on the couch, discussing the mission they were undertaking once again, as well as the possibility of a traitor among them.

"The thing is, we have to remember the pact we made at the beginning of this mission," Tara reminds the group. They all look tired from dealing with the constant deaths, monsters, and the effort required to find clues to save a town they don't even know.

"Even if somebody in this group is possibly lying to us," Amber adds to Tara's statement.

"Also, we need to stop with all this tea being spilled and all these fights, arguments, and disagreements, and just all the drama, because the sun is gonna come up any minute. We still need to find all these artifacts and figure out what is in the box," Mindy says, pointing to the box.

"Which weirdly has symbols similar to the ones that were on your suitcase," Mindy says directly to Sam, who simply nods in response.

"Yeah, somebody gave it to me. The symbol represents the Society Against Evil, which is all about being against evil, of course," Sam explains, causing both Amber and Mindy to feel a little suspicious of her, though for different reasons.

"Do you know anything about this? Are you a part of it? Or did you not know anything and just got us into some trouble without understanding the consequences?" Amber accuses her, her tone filled with suspicion.

"Well, technically no, and yes, and no, I'm not a part of the society. I just know that Society fights against all evil since they're against it. I've worked with them before, kind of," Sam explains, capturing everybody's attention.

"Wait, so they are good, and they did try to help the town?" Mindy questions, seeking clarification.

"And are they still working with us, or did they just give up, leaving it all up to us?" Chad asks, seeking to understand the current situation.

"Also, did you know these consequences were going to happen?" Amber leans forward, questioning once again, her curiosity piqued.

"They failed on their mission, and that's why we're here—to finish the job," Sam states, choosing to ignore Amber's question once again.

"And you tell us, NOW!?" Amber yells, her frustration evident. She didn't really care for or get along with the older "carpenter" sister, but now she believes the sister is risking their lives for nothing.

"And how are we supposed to do it? If they failed, we might as well," Amber adds to her argument, frustration evident on her face.

"I don't know, but we have to try. At least we can't leave right now anyway," Sam says with an emotionless expression, acknowledging the current circumstances.

"Even if it's a suicide mission, you're such a good sister and friend, Sam," Amber says sarcastically, letting out a laugh, while Sam just looks away, not responding to the remark.

"Amber, stop it," Tara mumbles next to her girlfriend, who looks at her a bit shocked but understands why she wants her to stop. Despite her feelings towards Sam, Amber stops pressuring her, just for Tara's sake.

"Anika, can you go get the map?" Mindy asks, and Anika promptly runs over to get the map from the wall. Once she retrieves it, she puts it on the table, and everybody crowds around to examine it.

"Okay, so green smoke is new," Ethan points out the obvious once again, as he has been doing all night, as the map shows green smoke around in the photo.

"Well duh, but we also got this motel," Mindy says, pointing out a motel called Shaq's Motel on the map.

"Man with no name's Lair. The man with no name was hunted because the town thought he was a freak of nature. He sure showed them," Anika reads the hint aloud, just as they hear a thud outside, causing them to jump up and rush outside. As they make their way outside, they come across a dead body in a bag lying on an empty popcorn machine.

"OH MY GOD, IT'S A BODY!" Ethan yells, his face filled with shock and disgust.

"Should we take him off the popcorn machine?" Quinn asks, unsure of what to do next. Chad opens the body bag, and they all jump back in shock upon seeing the dead body.

"Do we examine the body or, like, what do we do?" Anika asks, uncertain about the appropriate course of action.

"I mean, we already did this once, might as well do it again..." Sam says, resigned to the situation, as they proceed to examine the body once more.

While examining the dead body, Mindy finds a book in the man's pocket. "I found a book, guys!" Mindy says, holding it up to show the others.

"That's a good idea. Can we go inside then if we found something?" Ethan suggests, and the group agrees with him. They head back inside, with Mindy still holding the book in her hand.

"What is with this town and us digging up old, dead people's musty bodies for clues and stuff?" Amber says, voicing her frustration and discomfort.

As they make their way to the couch, Mindy opens the book and starts reading what she found on the first page, "I'm getting close to finding the statue of Era. His power is both terrifying and intoxicating. Many have died seeking to obtain it," she reads aloud, sharing the ominous message with the rest of the group.

As they all gather around the couch, Mindy continues reading from the book, "After gathering their obituaries, I discovered that their deaths have been secretly chronicled in 'Adventures of Allan Quatermain.' There's something about placing the volumes in their proper order that will reveal the statue. The painting holds the key," Mindy finishes, sharing the intriguing information with the group.

"Also, we need six books by this man, I'm assuming," Mindy suggests, deducing the number of books required to potentially reveal the location of the statue.

While standing around, Tara picks up a book named "The Witch Lovers," and asks, "Like this?" as she shows the book to the others.

As Mindy flips through the book, she notices a painting that depicts six people, which is intriguing because they had seen a painting with the same six figures on the wall in the room they were currently in. They had taken the frame down from the wall and placed it on the table for closer examination.

"Let's look for these books now," Sam commands the group, and they all follow her lead. They understand the importance of staying focused and fulfilling their promise to complete the mission without any distractions. Together, they begin searching for the required books.

As they continue searching, the group makes more progress. Chad discovers a book titled "The Winding Arm," and Ethan finds one called "The Evil Cross." Excitedly, they all place the books they found on the table. Meanwhile, Mindy diligently analyzes book she was still holding, trying to locate a drawing or clue that might indicate how to arrange the books in the proper order, as mentioned in the mysterious journal.

"Guys! I think we put the books here," Mindy exclaims, running over to a bookshelf on the other side of the room. The others quickly follow her, curious to see what she has discovered.

"Also, I found this secret pocket," Mindy says, holding some type of paper in her hand.

"Don't lose i-" Anika begins to say, but Mindy quickly throws the paper to the group, causing it to fly around as they all scramble to catch it. Fortunately, Amber manages to catch it in the nick of time. They all let out a sigh of relief as the paper is now safely in Amber's hands.

"Sarah G. was eaten alive by flesh-eating beetles. Wow," Ethan reads aloud, expressing shock and disbelief at the gruesome fate of the unfortunate individual named in the paper.

"Maybe we align the books with the pictures in the obituaries," Anika suggests, considering that the paintings they found in the book might correspond to the individuals mentioned in the obituaries.

"Like this guy was crucified by the Black Order cult," Mindy reads from the obituary.

"That's 'The Evil Cross'," Anika confidently answers, using her knowledge and experience as an avid reader to identify the book that matches the crucifixion description.

With Anika's book knowledge and the collective effort of the group, they successfully arrange the books in the correct order. As they place the books on the shelf together, a hidden mechanism is triggered, causing the wall behind them to fall down. To their amazement, a secret ancient room is revealed, and at the center stands the statue of Era. The group is filled with awe and excitement, but also a sense of shock, as they realize they have indeed uncovered the long-lost statue they were seeking.

"That looks demonic and dangerous," Quinn says as they walked forward to the secret room.

"I have bad feeling, guys, more than before," Anika says, holding onto Mindy's arm tightly as they enter the room.

As they enter, they see a box, a note, and a bunch of straws. Sam picks up the note and reads it: "The Statue of Era infects all who touch it."

"Wait, did you touch it?" Quinn asks Sam.

"I don't think so," Sam says unsurely.

"To purify the crusted idol, five ancient stones must be placed at its feet. To find the stones, you must assemble two hunting parties by drawing straws from the box. The two with the short straws will be the party leaders. Starting with the youngest leader, they will take turns picking their teams," Sam continues reading the note aloud.

"Aren't we all the same age besides Sam and Quinn?" Tara points out.

"I think I'm the youngest," Ethan raises his hand and says.

"Yeah, bottoms are always the youngest," Quinn jokes with a grin.

"You are such an attention whore and just a plain-out whore," Ethan remarks back at Quinn, who mumbles, "I got your baby photos." Ethan was about to respond, but Mindy gives him a "shut the fuck up" look, and he rolls his eyes in response at Quinn.

"Anyways... The group to recover the stones will be safe from the final challenge. However, the man with no name protects the gems, and his touch removes you from the haunt for five minutes. Your only sanctuary is under a red light," Sam reads out as they take the straws and exit the secret room. They then proceed to mix up the straws as two people pick out the shortest straws.

The two leaders of the challenge were Ethan and Tara, and since Ethan was the youngest, he got to pick first. he chose Chad, while Tara picked Sam. Next, Ethan picked Anika, and Tara picked Mindy. Then, Ethan picked Quinn, while Tara had Amber left, which she didn't argue with as she thought she would be a lot of help, actually.

"Where are we hunting again?" Quinn asked.

"Outside, and the only place safe is the red lights. And we're looking for gemstones, mostly five, and he can't touch any of us," Sam explains, reiterating the rules once more.

"Okay, well then let's get this hunting party started," Calliope says, leading the group outside with Mortimer.

(Author's Note: Which team do you think might win? Which team do you think might lose? And who do you think might be in the challenge? I did foreshadow it kind of...)
