𝙎𝙩𝙧𝙤𝙣𝙜 𝙇𝙞𝙠𝙚 𝙖 𝘿𝙚𝙢𝙤𝙣 (𝙋𝙖𝙧𝙩 2 𝙤𝙛 4)

(Author's Note: This chapter is out early because I didn't post that time I went to the movies so I wanted to actually make up for that, and I want to post two chapters today. So yeah. Also, I wanted to get these chapters out of the way since you guys will be going through a whirl with the 4th part.)

While everybody was thinking and talking in the lounge room, discussing the box or their chances of survival, Sam felt the guilt resurfacing from earlier. She observed how everybody coping with Anika's death and how they were all coping with everything that had been happening.

"I'm going to go to the bathroom. I'll be right back," Sam said, excusing herself from the lounge quickly, as everybody just nodded.

Samantha then ran out of the lounge before standing outside, looking at the sky, trying to take a breath. However, her moment of solitude got ruined when she heard some voices calling out to her. She looked back down at everything in front of her and followed the voice, which got closer and closer.

As she followed the voices, she felt a wave of déjà vu hit her, as if she had been in this situation before and knew where she was going.

As she kept walking, now moving straightforwardly, she stopped in front of a few chains that were covering something. Looking up, she saw a familiar devil mask entrance and a realization struck her - she had been down this path before. It was the church where everything had started, where she met the society against evil people who now had her friends caught in this suicide mission.

But the church was now glowing inside with an eerie blue light, and blue smoke was billowing out of its entrance. Sam stood there, watching the scene before her, as if she was in a trance, unable to move or look away. The surreal sight was both mesmerizing and unsettling.

"Hey, guys, come over! We need to talk and figure this out," Tara called out to the group, referring to the box that she and Mindy were discussing while everyone else was engaged in their previous conversation.

"We're almost out of time, and the only thing we have figured out about this box is that it can help us while we're dealing with all of this. So, it must be more important than what we actually think of it," Tara theorized, concern evident in her voice.

"And the only clues we've got are these coins, these pictures, and that strange shape, which was the same thing on Sam's bag from earlier before we came to this dumpster fire of a place," Tara added, her tone a mix of frustration and determination. The group gathered around her, trying to make sense of the situation and the mysterious box that seemed to hold the key to their survival.

"And it's in the bag, which is weird. Do you know what else is weird? Sam is taking bathroom breaks while doing this," Mindy points out, as everybody agrees with her.

"Where in the world is she going?" Amber asks, not putting up with Sam's weird behavior throughout their time in this place.

"Like, I love that lady and her motherly energy, but she's been really fucking sketchy," Quinn says while crossing her arms.

"Yeah, and she hasn't really been telling us shit. She just throws small details, nothing that can really help. I bet she knows more than what we think she knows because any person would have been fully informed on a death mission with their friends by this society," Ethan says.

"Maybe we should look for Sam, get down to business, and demand some actual answers," Tara suggests to the group, and they all agree. As everybody stands up or gets ready to go outside, they prepare to confront Sam and seek the truth.

As they all walk outside, scanning their surroundings for Sam, they initially don't notice her. However, Amber spots a random person standing on her left.

"Guys, who is that random person just standing there?" Amber asks, prompting Tara to be the first one to turn around and notice that it was Sam. She appeared to be in some kind of trance, as she wasn't moving and couldn't hear them at all.

"Sam! Sam! Sam!" Tara yells, running to Sam who just stood there, gazing at the devil's mask. The others follow behind Tara, not wanting to interrupt whatever Sam was doing.

"SAM!" Tara yells one more time behind Sam, which finally breaks her out of her trance. Sam turns around to face Tara, who looks worried and terrified for her. Sam notices the concern in Tara's eyes and realizes that something must have been seriously wrong with her behavior.

"I... Yeah, what's wrong?" Sam stammers, trying to collect her thoughts. She seems disoriented as if trying to remember what happened during her trance.

"Sam. We are worried about you. You seemed lost there for a moment," Tara says gently, reaching out to comfort her sister.

"Tara. That's where the darkness is coming from. That's where the carnival master is," Sam says, pointing to the church. Her voice carries an eerie certainty. The group's attention turns to the church, where an ominous feeling looms over the place.

"How do you know it's coming from over there?" Amber questions, pulling Tara back to her side, not fully trusting Sam's revelation.

"I think I've been here before," Sam says, further confusing the group but also raising their concern due to the sudden revelation. Her statement adds to the mystery surrounding the situation, leaving everyone unsure about what's really going on.

"Like in a dream, do you feel like you have? And you feel like you've been to this town before, like this one," Quinn asks, seeking clarification. Sam nods in response, indicating that the feeling is similar to experiencing déjà vu or a recurring dream about the town.

"I helped them in the past, and they asked for my help again. That's truly why we're all here," Sam tries to explain, shedding some light on her connection to the town and the reason they were drawn there. Her statement suggests a deeper involvement with the mysterious events surrounding the carnival and the church.

"And how is that supposed to help us, Samantha!?" Amber asks, her frustration evident as she raises her voice at Sam.

"I don't know, okay. It's supposed, I think... I don't know. I just don't know how to exp-" Sam's attempt to explain is cut off by Amber's interruption. "That's a lot of 'I don't know,' which clearly isn't going to help us. Until you figure this out, we're going back to the map," Amber declares firmly, frustrated by the lack of clarity and direction in their current situation. She decides that returning to their initial plan of using the map might be a more practical approach for now. As everybody even Sam agrees with her.

"Something has changed on the map," Calliope says, seemingly appearing out of nowhere, which startles everybody.

"Girl, get a bell," Quinn jokes, trying to lighten the mood as Calliope shows the map to the others.

"Yep, just casually sneaking up with the map in hand, completely normal," Chad adds. Despite the strange circumstances, they gather around the map that Calliope was holding, eager to see what changes have occurred.

As they study the map, their eyes land on two notable locations: the police station and another carnival tent. The police station's presence raises questions about law enforcement's involvement in the mysterious events.

"Where in the world was the police the whole time? This is their job, not ours," Ethan says sardonically, expressing frustration at the lack of official intervention in the strange happenings around the town. The group shares a mix of annoyance and agreement with Ethan's remark, wondering why the local authorities hadn't taken action to address the peculiar events.

The group gathers around the map, intrigued by the hint left by the police station. Mindy reads it aloud, her voice laced with anticipation.

"You think you're stronger than me, kid? I'm stronger than ten men. I'm strong like a demon. Come to the show and prove your strength."

"Step right up! Step right up! Step right up!" A lady suddenly yells at the group, causing everyone to jump in surprise. The woman's sudden and enthusiastic announcement adds to the eerie of the carnival, and the group exchanges glances, unsure of how to respond.

"Why does everybody need a fucking jumpscare as the entrance? This isn't fucking FNAF!" Ethan yells, his frustration evident as he glares at the lady. His outburst reflects the group's collective exasperation at the constant unsettling experiences they've encountered in the carnival.

"Y'all here to see the strongman, huh?" the woman asks, casually putting a toothpick in her mouth as everybody nods slowly in response.

"Is he at least nice?" Quinn asks, her tone and expression leaving the group uncertain whether she's joking or genuinely concerned. But to their surprise, she was indeed serious, sadly.

"You're gonna find out, aren't you, cutie?" the lady says, spitting on the ground, which makes Quinn's face twist in disgust at the action.

"Step inside," the lady says as the group steps into the tent, sticking together.

"Only the strongest among you can open the strongman's box. So, we're going to have a little arm-wrestling match to find out which of you is the strongest. I need all of you to pair up into teams," the woman explains as everybody writes their names on the board in duos.

The first duo, Ethan and Quinn, gets on the arm-wrestling table and gets ready. "May the best person win. Go!" the lady says, starting the two off.

The two siblings start, and Quinn is initially losing to her brother. She tries to push through and pull an unexpected win, but her brother manages to hold on, and her hands hit the table. Both of them then shake hands, and Quinn playfully rolls her eyes while congratulating her brother on the victory.

Tara and Mindy are up next. Tara needs a little step stool, which Sam got for her, as she was much shorter compared to everybody else. She stands on the stool, getting ready to arm wrestle Mindy. Both of them are set and begin the match. Mindy seems to have the advantage at first, but as she pushes forward, Tara summons her strength and slowly brings Mindy's hand down to the table, winning the match. They both laugh and exchange playful banter after the friendly competition as everybody was shocked that Tara won instead of Mindy.

Sam and Amber take their turns next. As they prepare for the arm wrestle, it becomes evident that they both have the almost equal arm strength, making it a challenging match for both of them. However, in the end, Sam manages to secure the win. Amber appears disappointed with herself and avoids making eye contact with Sam.

Next up are Ethan and Tara. Tara uses the stool again to get ready for the arm wrestle. As they start, Ethan quickly gains the upper hand, and Tara loses almost immediately. Despite the defeat, Tara gracefully claps for Ethan, trying to be a good sport.

Sam is up next against Chad. Determined to win, she puts up a good fight, pushing through for a few seconds before Chad ultimately prevails and wins the arm wrestling match. Although she didn't come out victorious, Sam shows good sportsmanship and congratulates Chad on his win. (Author's Note: There was an odd number of people, so yeah.)

Author's Note: Now it was time for the finalists, Ethan and Chad, who were evenly matched. Both got ready, and earlier, Ethan had mumbled to Chad that if he made it to the finals, he wanted to give him a chance to show the group how strong he was before trying to defeat him. Chad, of course, agreed to help his best friend (Author's Note: Cough, Cough, boyfriend, his man).

Chad and Ethan then battle it out, and true to his promise, Chad goes a little easy on Ethan at first, keeping them at the same level. However, a few seconds later, Chad goes all in, pushing with full force. Ethan tries his best to resist, putting up a valiant effort as Chad's hand comes dangerously close to hitting the table. But in the end, Chad manages to overpower Ethan, and Ethan's hand hits the table.

Despite the loss, Ethan sighs but smiles, showing good sportsmanship, and congratulates Chad for winning and for keeping his promise. Chad returns the gesture, appreciating the friendly competition and sportsman-like spirit they both displayed.

"I will get you next time," Ethan says, looking determinedly at Chad.

"Sure, Love," Chad replies with a playful grin before writing his name on the winning part of the board. He then opens the box and discovers a pyramid-shaped object along with a note inside.(Author's Note: I'm imagining Chad with a British accent saying that...LMFAO)

Chad reads the note aloud, "The demon that lives inside this configuration has escaped and must be locked back inside to cleanse the artifact. The missing pieces must be restored to the cube to seal it."

"Wait, doesn't that mean...oh sh-" Mindy's words were cut off by roaring and screaming erupting from behind them, as something menacing entered the carnival grounds. The sudden commotion causes everyone to scream in fear and confusion.

"I smell fear!" A lady, who appears to be drunk, exclaims while randomly hitting anything metal nearby with her bar.

"You think you're stronger than ME! No one's stronger than me!" The strongman roared, his appearance now resembling a mix of a demon and a powerful man.

Quinn yells out in a mix of confusion and alarm, "Why am I turned on but scared at the same time?" Her words draw bewildered glances from others.

Mindy yells back at Quinn, clearly bewildered and amused by her reaction, "How are you getting horny by THIS!" She finds it hard to comprehend Quinn's response, and being openly gay herself, she cannot fathom what Quinn sees in the demon-like strongman who resembles a "half-red hot Cheeto."

"I'll destroy you all!" The strongman bellows, capturing Mindy in his clutches, while the lady manages to capture Amber, detaining both of them. The group, filled with fear and desperation, seeks refuge by hiding beside the tent, trying to avoid the same fate as their captured friends.

When the two are locked in the cell, the lady and police officer engage in suggestive conversation before unexpectedly starting to make out. Mindy and Amber look away in disgust, covering their eyes, unable to bear witnessing the uncomfortable situation.

"My girlfriend died for this," Mindy mumbles, trying to block out the disturbing sounds in the background.

"GO! Get more of them!" The lady yells, pulling apart from the man and hitting his chest. Her demand suggests that she wants more people to be captured.

"Fine!" the man says, complying with the lady's demand.

"Damn, he's sexy. You lookin' at something," the lady yells at the two in the cell, making an inappropriate and suggestive comment.

"Wish I didn't," Mindy mumbles, expressing her discomfort with the lady's comments. She shakes her head in disagreement with the lady's question. Amber also joins in, shaking her head no.
