We interrupt our regular programming to bring you live at the Royal Opera House, where an emergency press conference is being held, following the disastrous comeback show by Jin the Kantanto whose voice simply vanished during the second act.

Jungkook turned the radio's volume knob up.

Unpredictable.

Everything about last night had been unpredictable. And as a detective, it made him rather nervous. As a bashful lover, however, this unpredictability was most exciting.

It had all started with Taehyung holding his hand out. "Come on. Let's go see the Kantanto."

Jungkook had eagerly grabbed it. They had run all the way to the Opera House and had arrived a little out of breath, as the spectators were returning to their seat. They were heading to the second floor, to get to their Grand Tier box, when they had bumped into young bestselling author Kim Namjoon, a friend of Tae's. As he was introduced, Taehyung never let go of his hand. And as the lights dimmed, he entwined their fingers, effectively increasing the other's heartbeat rate tenfold.

Jungkook had been so focused on Tae's thumb, rubbing circles on the back of his hand, that he hadn't immediately realized what was going on below, on the stage where Jin had appeared in a costume as grandiose as the impressive set in the background. That's when the commotion had begun.

We are committed to providing quality entertainment and last night's event is but a one-time incident. We are happy to announce that Jin's voice has returned. Another date will be set for a compensatory recital. However, all those who wish for a refund should rest assure that we will reimburse their tickets, provided they present a proof of purchase.

Jungkook recalled the look of horror on the singer's face as his mouth, wide open, wouldn't let out a single sound. The audience had gasped in unison at the realization that the performer had gone mute! He also clearly remembers the restrained smirk on Tae's lips. His date had found it all quite amusing!

We won't be taking any questions for the moment, as Jin is still recovering from the shock. Thank you for your understanding.

The radio went briefly silent before an announcer came on the air.

In other news, and before we return to our regular programming, we would like to inform our audience that the Jolly Monkey Circus has canceled its remaining shows.

That's one piece of news Jungkook found rather predictable. After all, it had been getting bad press. But if he was going to get to the bottom of the mysterious note Lupin had sent him, Jungkook had to get moving. That's when our young detective decided to grab his coat and head out.

"So you're not from the press."

"No. Like it says on the name card I just gave you, I'm a private investigator."

The ringmaster scoffed. "You see, since that first article in the Thames Herald, things have been going from bad to worse. Let's just say we're not very fond of such publicity."

"I'm just here to ask him a few questions."

"Remind me again why you think this is worthy of your time?"

Jungkook bit his lips. "It's too early for me say but something tells me it's bigger than what it looks like."

"Will I hear about it in the press? Because unless your inquiry brings me back my audience, I'm not sure I want you nosing around our circus."

"I'll be extra careful so as not to attract unwanted media attention. But you should know, the worst that could happen is for me to hit a dead end."

"What about the best-case scenario?"

"I clear Jung Hoseok's name and get him his smile back."
