76. Unwrapping Joy

The snow fell in thick, soft flakes outside, coating the world in a pristine white blanket. Inside the cozy warmth of Taehyung and V’s home, the living room glowed with the golden light of the fireplace. A tall Christmas tree, adorned with twinkling lights and carefully placed ornaments, stood proudly in the corner, while stockings were hung by the fire.

V stirred awake first in his and his twin’s shared room, blinking as the faint sound of Christmas carols drifted from the living room. He stretched lazily, as he took time to take in the scene. It was Christmas morning, and everything felt perfect or maybe he was finally happy after a very long time.

Taehyung, his twin, lay sprawled beside him, limbs tangled over his elder brother, fast asleep. It had been a long time since they’d shared a bed like this. Though V often pretended to dislike skinship and cuddles, he was always the one to pull his brother back into bed whenever Taehyung slipped from his embrace.

Taehyung slept with carefree abandon, but V was always careful, tucking him in securely or even holding him close whenever his younger brother needed extra comfort. Like that morning, just as V sat up, Taehyung shivered in his sleep.

He slipped out of bed quietly, leaving Taehyung to sleep a little longer. As he padded into the living room, the sight of their parents sitting by the fire caught him off guard. They had woken up early, just as they promised the night before, and were busy arranging presents under the tree. The sight brought a wave of warmth through V, reminding him of the childhood Christmas mornings they hadn’t been able to fully enjoy together.

"Good morning, sweetheart!" Their mother greeted, beaming as V approached. She stood up and enveloped him in a tight hug, one filled with love and affection he had missed growing up.

Without hesitation, the mother seized the moment, gently holding her son by the jaw to plant soft kisses on each cheek. She knew how rarely V allowed such affection, but deep down, he always longed to be greeted this way.

"Merry Christmas!" V whispered, soaking in the warmth of the moment.

"Merry Christmas, my son!" Their father chimed in, clapping V on the back with a hearty laugh. "We’ve got a lot to catch up on, son."

V smiled, a hint of emotion swelling in his chest. For the first time in years, he felt the kind of pampering and affection he had longed for since childhood—the kind where his parents doted on him, making him feel cherished.

As if on cue, Taehyung stumbled out of the bedroom, rubbing sleep from his eyes and yawning widely. His face lit up when he saw the scene in front of him—his twin standing in the midst of their parents, gifts piled high under the tree, and the room brimming with love.

The parents and V caught sight of Taehyung waddling sleepily toward them, his face pressed into their mother’s shoulder. She giggled at the familiar gesture.

"Here you come, my baby. Merry Christmas!" she said, wrapping him in a hug. Taehyung hummed happily before breaking away to attack his father with another embrace. Used to his younger son’s antics, his father lifted him slightly, as if he were still a small child.

The room filled with joy as smiles spread across everyone’s faces. Once his father set him down, Taehyung immediately turned to his brother, clinging onto V.

"Merry Christmas, hyung-nim," Taehyung teased. V didn’t respond with a hug but instead squeezed Taehyung’s waist, trying to tickle him. Taehyung jumped back quickly.

"Merry Christmas, Korean Trump." V grinned and Taehyung groaned, rolling his eyes.

"That joke died ages ago. Find new ones." The twins were back to their usual banter, earning amused smiles from their parents.

"Alright, alright, let’s open the presents, boys." Their mother interjected and Taehyung's eyes lit up, and he rushed toward the pile of gifts. "I see you guys didn’t wait for me!" he exclaimed with a big smile.

Their mother laughed and said, "We wouldn’t dare start without you. Now come sit, both of you. It’s time for presents."

The twins sat by the tree, and their parents began handing out gifts, each one filled with thoughtfulness. As V unwrapped a beautifully knit sweater, their mother smiled warmly. "I thought you could use something cozy. You’ve always been the one to feel the cold."

V’s heart swelled with pride and overwhelming emotion as he gazed at his mother, his eyes shining. "Thanks, eomma," he whispered. She reached out to ruffle his hair and replied, "Try it on."

As V slipped the sweater over his head, he felt an immense wave of gratitude wash over him. It wasn’t just the garment itself; it was the love behind it. He imagined the effort it must have taken for their mother to knit it so carefully, from choosing the softest yarns to weaving them together while thinking of him. The sweater practically radiated love.

Meanwhile, Taehyung couldn’t contain his excitement. "What have I got? What have I got?" he repeated, struggling to unbox his present on his own. Their father slid next to him to help, and soon Taehyung pulled out a set of red cap and muffler, expertly woven by their mother.

"Eomma! I wanted a new set! Oh, that’s so cute! Thank you, I love you so much!" Taehyung exclaimed, jumping up to hug his mother, who was nearly overwhelmed with joy.

As they continued opening presents, they realized how much they had missed moments like this. The slippers, the handmade scarf, even the special Christmas treats their parents had baked just for them—it all made them feel like they were being cared for.

Taehyung laughed as he unwrapped his own presents, teasing V about how spoiled he was getting. "Looks like they’re making up for lost time," he joked, tossing a wrapped box at his twin.

"Hey, I’m not complaining," V replied with a grin. "I could get used to this."

Their father ruffled V’s hair playfully. "We missed a lot of Christmases, son, but we’re going to make sure this one is special. You deserve it."

As the excitement settled, their father reached for his own present, carefully unwrapping the elegant package. Inside lay a stunning golf set, gleaming under the light. His eyes widened in surprise, and a broad smile spread across his face. "Wow, look at this!" he exclaimed, holding the clubs up for everyone to see.

Taehyung and V leaned in, admiring the impressive set. Just then, their father turned to the twins with a mischievous glint in his eye. "Alright, you two, look away for a moment," he said, his tone playful.

"Why?" Taehyung asked, curiosity piqued.

"Just do it!" their father insisted, feigning sternness while suppressing a grin.

With giggles and mock reluctance, the twins turned their backs. They could hear their mother’s playful protests as their father leaned in closer. "Come here, you," he murmured, pulling her gently toward him.

When the twins turned around, they caught sight of their father planting a sweet kiss on their mother’s cheek. She blushed, a shy smile blooming on her face, and playfully swatted at him. "Stop it! You’re making me all giddy!" she exclaimed, her laughter filling the room.

"Can you blame me? You deserve all the love in the world, especially on Christmas," their father replied, grinning as he wrapped his arm around her shoulder, pulling her close.

The sight of their parents sharing a moment of affection warmed V and Taehyung’s hearts, filling the room with a sense of love and togetherness that made this Christmas even more special.

"Oh, I miss Jungkook," Taehyung murmured.

"I wish Jimin was here," V added, both of them speaking just under their breaths. Luckily, their parents didn’t hear, but they caught each other's eye and burst into shy smiles.

V’s gaze landed on another box next to him, its label catching his attention. It had Jimin's name written on it.

"Eomma, is this for Jimin?" V asked, his voice soft, drawing his mother’s attention.

"Oh yes, there’s one for him, and the other one next to it is for Jungkook. Why don’t you set them aside for them to open later?" their mother replied, her eyes twinkling with joy.

The twins exchanged excited glances, their hearts warming at the thought of sharing their Christmas with their friends.

"Sure," they replied in unison, their spirits lifted as they continued to unwrap their own gifts. The atmosphere was filled with love and anticipation, each moment deepening the bond they shared as a family.

As they finished setting aside the presents for Jimin and Jungkook, the twins exchanged knowing glances, a silent understanding passing between them. They reached for their final boxes, carefully wrapped in bright paper adorned with festive patterns.

"Eomma, we have something for you, too," they said in unison, their voices brimming with excitement.

Their mother’s eyes widened in surprise as they handed her the beautifully wrapped gifts. "Oh, you didn’t have to!" she exclaimed, her voice tinged with anticipation.

With eager hands, they watched as she tore through the wrapping, revealing a stunning gold pendant nestled inside. It sparkled in the light, intricately designed and elegant—a piece that reflected the love and effort the twins had put into choosing it.

"Oh my goodness!" Their mother gasped, bringing a hand to her mouth. Tears glistened in her eyes as she carefully lifted the pendant from its box, admiring it as though it were a precious treasure. "It’s beautiful, boys! I can’t believe you got this for me!"

"We saved up for it," V said softly, his heart swelling with pride. "We wanted you to have something special."

"Thank you so much! This means the world to me," she said, her voice shaking with emotion. She pulled the twins into a warm embrace, holding them tightly. "You’re both so thoughtful. I’m so proud of you!"

The moment hung in the air, filled with love and gratitude. V and Taehyung exchanged shy smiles, their hearts glowing with happiness at their mother’s reaction. It was a Christmas they would always remember—a celebration of family, love, and the joy of giving.

As they sat together, unwrapping the last of the gifts and sipping hot chocolate, the snow continued to fall gently outside. The quiet morning felt magical, not just because of the presents or the festive decorations, but because V was being pampered in a way that filled a deep longing from his childhood. It was a reminder that no matter how much time had passed, love and family could always make up for what was missed.

When their mother leaned over and wrapped both Taehyung and V in a tight embrace, she whispered, "You’re both our greatest gifts. Merry Christmas, my boys."

And in that moment, V realized that this was the kind of Christmas he had always dreamed of—one filled with love, laughter, and the feeling of being truly seen and cared for.

V and Taehyung settled comfortably by the tree, now surrounded by a sea of wrapping paper and gifts. The warm glow from the fireplace reflected off the shiny ornaments hanging from the tree, casting a soft light over the room. The snowfall outside continued in a steady rhythm, creating the perfect peaceful backdrop.

Their parents, still sitting close to the fire, exchanged amused glances, watching their boys—now grown men—revel in the simple joy of Christmas morning. V couldn’t help but feel a twinge of nostalgia for the childhood they had missed together. While they had always been close as twins, this felt different. It was like they were rediscovering something that had been tucked away for years.

"I haven’t felt like this in a long time," V admitted softly, pulling the new sweater closer around his shoulders. He glanced at Taehyung, who sat beside him, happily picking through the pile of gifts.

Taehyung looked over at him, his expression softening. "Yeah, it feels like we’re kids again, doesn’t it?"

Their mother chimed in, her voice gentle but filled with warmth. "That’s what Christmas is supposed to be—a time to reconnect, to feel like family, no matter how much time has passed or what you’ve been through."

V nodded, feeling the truth of her words sink deep. This was more than just unwrapping presents or sipping hot chocolate by the fire. This was about reclaiming moments they had lost, about finding comfort in the love that had always been there, even if it wasn’t always visible.

Taehyung, sensing the quiet emotion in his twin, nudged him playfully. "Hey, don’t get too sentimental on me. You’re getting spoiled, and I think you’re starting to enjoy it way too much."

V laughed, shaking his head. "Can’t help it, man. This is the Christmas we always wanted."

Their father stood up, stretching before walking over to ruffle both of their hair. "You boys deserve it," he said, his voice full of pride. "It hasn’t always been easy, but I’m glad we’re here now. Together."

The twins shared a look, knowing how much those words meant coming from their father. It wasn’t just about the presents or the celebration; it was about being seen and understood as adults who had weathered the storms of life, but who still craved the warmth of family.

As the morning continued, their mother brought out a plate of homemade pastries, the smell filling the room with a sweetness that matched the moment. The four of them gathered around, laughing and sharing stories of Christmases past, filling the house with the kind of warmth that only family can bring.

V leaned back, taking in the scene—the tree, the snow, his twin beside him, and their parents close by. It was a Christmas morning that was simple, yet perfect in every way that mattered. And as he watched the snowflakes continue to drift softly outside, he realized how lucky he was to have this moment, to be surrounded by love, and to finally feel like he belonged.

In that peaceful space, with the fire crackling and the soft glow of the Christmas lights reflecting off the freshly fallen snow, V allowed himself to fully embrace the warmth of the holiday. This was the kind of Christmas he had always longed for—the one where love and family were the greatest gifts of all.

The morning at Jungkook’s home was equally magical, but in its own unique way. Outside, the snow fell thickly, blanketing the yard in a pure white cover. Through the frosted windows, the world seemed quiet and still, the perfect backdrop for the Christmas warmth filling the house.

Jungkook stirred awake to the smell of fresh coffee and pancakes coming from the kitchen. He smiled, already knowing that his mother had been up early, preparing the special breakfast she always made on Christmas morning. He stretched lazily, his body warm and content under the covers, before rolling out of bed.

He padded quietly down the hallway, the sound of soft carols playing from the living room filling the house with a familiar coziness. As he entered the room, he found his parents already sitting by the tree, his father sipping coffee while his mother laid out presents under the twinkling lights.

And there, in the center of the room, was Bam, their lively dog, wagging his tail enthusiastically as he sniffed at the piles of gifts. The sight made Jungkook chuckle—Bam was always part of the family’s celebrations, and his playful energy added to the excitement of the morning.

"Merry Christmas, Kookie!" his mother greeted with a bright smile as he stepped into the room, her voice warm and filled with love. She wrapped him in a tight hug before pulling back to hold his face in her hands, as if she were still looking at her little boy. "Did you sleep well?"

"Merry Christmas, Mom," Jungkook said softly, his voice a little raspy from sleep. "Yeah, I did. It feels good to be home."

His father nodded from his spot by the fire, a content look on his face as he gestured for Jungkook to join him. "Come on, son. Let’s get these presents unwrapped before your mother brings out all the food."

Bam bounded over to Jungkook, his tail wagging furiously as he leaned in for a scratch behind the ears. "Hey, buddy! Are you ready for some Christmas fun?" Jungkook laughed, bending down to give Bam a gentle pat before moving to sit on the floor beside the tree.

His eyes danced over the stack of gifts, a sense of warmth spreading through him. He hadn’t felt this kind of peaceful joy in a long time—a morning spent at home with his parents, the world outside quiet and blanketed in snow, and the simple pleasure of being together.

His mother joined them, settling down with her coffee before handing Jungkook his first present. "Here, open this one. I think you’ll like it," she said with a knowing smile.

Jungkook tore into the wrapping, revealing a soft, woolen scarf—handmade, just like the ones his mother had knitted for him every year when he was a kid. He looked up at her, his heart swelling with affection. "Mom, this is perfect. Thank you."

She smiled, leaning over to pat his cheek. "I knew you’d appreciate it. You’re always cold when you come back home."

As the morning went on, they took turns unwrapping gifts, each one filled with thoughtfulness and care. Finally, his father handed Jungkook a small, elegant box. "Here’s one from me," he said with a grin.

Curiosity piqued, Jungkook opened the box to reveal a stunning watch with a sleek design. The silver band glinted in the light, and the face of the watch was a deep, classic blue. "Wow, Dad! This is amazing," he exclaimed, his eyes wide with admiration.

His father smiled, a mix of pride and nostalgia in his expression. "I thought it would be a good reminder of time—how precious it is and how important it is to spend it with the ones you love."

Jungkook looked at the watch, his heart swelling. "Thank you. I’ll cherish it." He clasped it around his wrist, feeling a sense of connection to his father.

After the last of the presents had been opened, his mother disappeared into the kitchen, returning with a tray of warm pancakes and fresh fruit. The sweet smell filled the room, and Jungkook’s stomach growled in response. "Breakfast time!" she announced, setting the plates down on the coffee table.

They ate together by the fire, Bam lying contentedly at Jungkook’s feet, occasionally looking up expectantly for a bite of pancake. The crackling of the flames and the occasional chime of Christmas music created the perfect atmosphere. The snowfall outside seemed almost too picturesque, like something out of a holiday movie, but it felt real and intimate in the small world they had created within their home.

Jungkook leaned back against the couch, his plate empty, feeling a deep sense of gratitude. "It’s been a while since I’ve felt this relaxed," he admitted, glancing between his parents.

His mother reached over, placing a hand on his knee. "That’s what Christmas is for, sweetheart. To remind us of what’s important. To be with family, to be loved."

His father nodded in agreement. "You’ve been working hard, son. You deserve this time to just be."

Jungkook let those words sink in. The love in the room was tangible, wrapping around him like the softest blanket. It wasn’t about the presents or the food—it was about being home, being with the people who knew him better than anyone else.

Bam lifted his head, letting out a playful bark as he stood up, wagging his tail excitedly as if sensing the joy in the air. Jungkook laughed, reaching down to scratch him behind the ears. "Alright, buddy, you want to go play in the snow?"

The dog jumped up, his tail wagging even harder, and Jungkook couldn’t help but feel a rush of happiness at the thought of sharing this moment with Bam.

As he stood up and headed for the door, the world outside awaited, blanketed in snow, just as it had been when he was a child. Inside, the warmth of family, love, and the simple joy of being together made this Christmas morning one Jungkook would hold in his heart forever.

At Jimin’s house, Christmas morning began with the same soft snowfall that seemed to blanket the entire world. The house was smaller and cozier than Jungkook’s or V and Taehyung’s, but it was filled with warmth. Through the windows, the delicate snowflakes drifted down, layering the streets and rooftops in perfect white. The scent of cinnamon and freshly baked bread filled the air, a reminder of the holiday traditions Jimin’s mother cherished.

Jimin stirred awake, still curled up in the warmth of his thick blanket. The sound of soft holiday music drifted up from downstairs, and the gentle clinking of dishes told him that his mother was already up, preparing breakfast. He smiled to himself, the comfort of home settling over him like a second blanket.

He climbed out of bed, throwing on his favorite oversized sweater and soft sweatpants. It was Christmas, and despite the chill outside, he felt an inner warmth that came from the simple joy of being with family. He padded down the stairs quietly, finding his mother in the kitchen, humming a Christmas tune as she flipped pancakes on the stove.

"Merry Christmas, Mom," Jimin said softly, stepping into the kitchen.

His mother turned, her face lighting up as she saw him. "Merry Christmas, sweetheart!" She pulled him into a tight hug, holding him a little longer than usual, as if she was soaking in every moment. "You’re just in time for breakfast."

Jimin smiled, sitting down at the small kitchen table. The warmth of the kitchen contrasted with the cold outside, where snow continued to fall, turning the world into a peaceful winter wonderland. His father was already seated at the table, sipping his morning tea, looking content as he watched the snowfall through the window.

"Merry Christmas, Dad," Jimin greeted with a soft smile.

His father nodded, glancing at him with a warm but reserved expression. "Merry Christmas, son."

Though his father wasn’t the most affectionate person, Jimin had grown to understand him better over the years. There was love in his father’s eyes, even if it wasn’t always expressed through words or gestures. Today, that love felt more tangible, present in the way his father sat quietly at the table, making sure to be there for Christmas morning.

As his mother placed a plate of warm pancakes in front of him, she beamed. "I made your favorite, Jimin. And don’t forget to open your presents after breakfast. I think you’ll like what we got you this year."

Just then, the sound of small, hurried footsteps echoed down the hall. Jimin’s younger brother, Minjoon, burst into the kitchen, his cheeks flushed from the cold and excitement. "Merry Christmas!" he shouted, his eyes wide with anticipation, making his way to the table.

"Merry Christmas, Minjoon!" Jimin laughed, ruffling his brother's hair as Minjoon climbed up onto a chair, barely able to contain his energy. He wore his favorite festive pajamas, covered in little snowmen and reindeer, which only added to his bubbly excitement.

"Did you see the snow? It’s perfect for snowmen!" Minjoon exclaimed, his voice bright and full of enthusiasm. "Can we go outside after breakfast?"

"Of course, we can," Jimin replied, grinning at his little brother’s eagerness. "But first, we have to eat. You need your strength!"

Their mother chuckled, setting a plate of pancakes in front of Minjoon. "I made extra for you, sweetheart. You’ll need it if you want to build the biggest snowman ever."

Minjoon’s eyes sparkled with delight as he dug into his food, and the three of them enjoyed breakfast together, laughing and sharing stories. Jimin savored the moment, feeling grateful for the simplicity of it all—the warmth of the kitchen, the delicious food, and the joy radiating from his brother.

After breakfast, they gathered in the living room. The Christmas tree wasn’t as tall or heavily adorned as others, but it stood proudly in the corner, covered in ornaments Jimin and his mother had collected over the years. The soft glow of the lights reflected off the glass baubles, and beneath the tree, a few carefully wrapped presents awaited.

"Can we open presents now?" Minjoon asked, practically bouncing in his seat, his eyes darting from the tree to his parents.

"Just a moment," their mother replied with a smile. "Let’s wait for your father to finish his tea."

Jimin sat on the floor by the tree, his mother eagerly passing him the first gift. "Open this one first," she said, her eyes twinkling with excitement.

He smiled, tearing into the wrapping paper to reveal a new cardigan—soft, thick, and perfect for the cold winter days ahead. "I love it, Mom. Thank you," he said, wrapping it around his body quickly.

"There’s more," his mother said, her excitement palpable as she handed him another present.

This one was smaller, and when Jimin unwrapped it, he found a delicate, silver bracelet inside. His eyes widened as he looked at the simple yet elegant piece of jewelry. "Mom, this is beautiful," he whispered, touched by the thoughtfulness of the gift.

Minjoon leaned closer, his face full of wonder. "It’s so shiny! Can I wear it?" he asked, his eyes wide with admiration.

"Not right now, but maybe after I’m done wearing it," Jimin replied with a smile, feeling a warm rush of affection for his brother's innocent curiosity.

His mother smiled, a little teary-eyed. "I know you like simple things. I thought it’d suit you."

Jimin slipped the bracelet onto his wrist, feeling the weight of both the gift and the love behind it. He glanced at his father, who handed him another small box. Jimin opened it to find a leather-bound journal, much like the ones he used to write in when he was younger.

"You always loved writing," his father said quietly. "I figured you might want to start again."

Jimin’s chest tightened with emotion. His father’s gestures were always subtle, but they meant the world to him. "Thank you, Dad. I will."

Minjoon looked at the journal curiously. "What are you going to write about?" he asked, tilting his head.

"Maybe stories, or my thoughts. Things I want to remember," Jimin replied, smiling at his brother. "What about you? Want to write a story together later?"

Minjoon’s eyes lit up. "Yes! Can we write about snowmen? And maybe a dragon that lives in the snow?"

"Absolutely!" Jimin laughed, already imagining the wild story they could create together.

The morning passed in a blur of warmth and contentment. The snowfall outside continued, turning the world into a winter wonderland, but inside, it was the love of his family that made the day feel magical. They sat together on the couch after the presents were opened, sipping hot cocoa and talking about their favorite holiday memories.

Minjoon chimed in with his own recollections, recounting the year they had built the biggest snowman ever, complete with a carrot nose and a scarf that Jimin had knit. "And we made him a snowdog, too!" he exclaimed, bouncing in his seat.

"That’s right! And we should do it again this year," Jimin said, his heart swelling with fondness for the memory and his brother’s enthusiasm.

For Jimin, this Christmas wasn’t about grand gestures or expensive gifts. It was about the quiet moments—his mother’s warm embrace, his father’s thoughtful gift, the peaceful snowfall outside. It was about being together, wrapped in the love that had always been there, even in the silences.

As he watched the snowflakes gently fall, Jimin realized that this was the kind of Christmas he cherished most. Simple, loving, and full of the small, meaningful moments that made life beautiful.

And with Minjoon by his side, ready to create new memories, he knew this holiday season would be one to remember for years to come.

As Christmas quietly faded into the days that followed, the excitement began building for another special occasion: the twins' upcoming birthday. With the big day approaching, Jungkook and Jimin made plans to head to Daegu from Busan on December 28th—two days before the twins’ birthday.

The two had informed V and Taehyung’s parents ahead of time, coordinating to meet at the train station and travel together to Daegu.

Busan, with its serene beaches and majestic mountains, had always been a place the four friends promised to explore together one day. But for now, as Jungkook and Jimin sat side by side on the train, they soaked in the peaceful view of snow falling gently outside the window, the quiet hum of the train adding to the calm. The beauty of the moment filled them with warmth and anticipation for the reunion that awaited.

As the train hummed along the tracks, Jungkook leaned back in his seat, gazing out the window at the snowy landscape passing by. He let out a contented sigh, breaking the comfortable silence between him and Jimin.

"How was your Christmas?" Jungkook asked, turning to face Jimin with a curious smile.

Jimin smiled warmly, recalling the quiet moments he had shared with his family. "It was nice. Spent most of it with my parents. We didn’t do anything big, just had dinner together. I missed being around you guys, though," he admitted, his gaze softening. "It felt strange not having my friends around for Christmas. What about you?"

Jungkook chuckled, stretching his legs out a bit. "Yeah, same here. Spent time with my family and Bam, of course," he added with a grin. "But honestly, I kept thinking about you guys and obviously Taehyung the whole time. You know how he is during special days—he makes everything feel like a celebration."

Jimin nodded, his smile growing. "I know exactly what you mean. V has this way of making everything more… alive." He paused, his eyes drifting to the snowy scenery outside. "I wonder what they’ve been up to. They must be getting ready for their birthday already."

Jungkook chuckled softly. "Knowing Taehyung, he’s probably dragging V into some elaborate birthday plans, even if V pretends not to care."

Jimin laughed at the thought. "Yeah, he’ll act all indifferent, but deep down, V loves it. He just doesn’t show it like Taehyung does." The two of them shared a quiet laugh.

"I’m glad we’re going early," Jungkook said after a moment, his voice more serious now. "It feels right, being with them for their birthday."

Jimin smiled, nodding in agreement. "Yeah, me too. It’s like Christmas wasn’t quite complete without them. This birthday will make up for it."

As the train continued its journey through the snowy hills, the two friends fell back into a comfortable silence, each lost in thoughts of the twins, eagerly anticipating the reunion in Daegu. The snowfall outside the window mirrored the warmth in their hearts, a quiet promise of joy waiting just around the corner.

Jungkook’s smile faltered slightly as he remembered something. "Actually… we didn’t even know each other on their last birthday, did we? I wasn’t around yet."

Jimin nodded, his expression softening. "That’s true. You came into the picture after that. It feels like you’ve always been a part of the group, though."

Jungkook chuckled, rubbing the back of his neck. "Yeah, it’s weird to think about how much has changed since then. I wasn’t even there for their last birthday, and now here we are, heading to Daegu to celebrate together."

Jimin smiled warmly. "It feels like you’ve always been one of us, though. V and Taehyung took to you so quickly—it’s like you were always meant to be part of this."

Jungkook’s eyes softened at the thought. "Yeah, I guess so. I feel lucky to have met you guys. I’m excited for this birthday—it’s the first one we’ll celebrate together."

Jimin nodded, his heart warming. "Me too. It’s going to be special, especially since we all get to be there this time."

As the train continued its steady course, the weight of the coming reunion settled between them, filling the air with anticipation. This birthday would mark the beginning of new memories, ones they would all share together.

As the train neared Daegu, the snow outside thickened, creating a white blanket over the landscape. Jimin and Jungkook sat quietly for a while, the excitement of what was to come stirring in their chests.

Jungkook shifted in his seat again, a thoughtful look crossing his face. "You think they’ll be surprised to see us arriving early?"

Jimin chuckled softly, his eyes crinkling. "I think Taehyung might act like he knew all along, but he’ll be buzzing with excitement inside. V, though... he might just raise an eyebrow and give us that smirk. You know, the one that says ‘I’m not impressed,’ but he’s secretly happy."

Jungkook grinned at the thought. "Yeah, that sounds about right. They’ll probably tease us for coming early, but I bet they’ll love it."

The train slowed as they approached the station, the snow swirling in the dim light outside. Jimin adjusted his scarf, looking at Jungkook with a soft smile. "You know, I’m glad we’re doing this. It’s more than just a birthday—it feels like we’re celebrating something bigger. Like how far we’ve come together."

Jungkook nodded, his eyes reflecting the same sentiment. "Yeah, I feel that too. I never imagined meeting people like you guys would make such a difference in my life. It’s like everything fell into place when we met."

Jimin’s smile widened. "That’s what friends are for, right? To make life a little brighter."

"It surely does."

The route didn't seem long for the two who enjoyed the trip with chats and a lot of discussion about the twin’s birthday.

Just then, the train came to a stop, the sound of brakes hissing as the doors slid open. A cold breeze swept into the car, and Jungkook stood up, grabbing his bag. "Ready?"

Jimin nodded, pulling his jacket tighter around him. "Let’s go surprise them."

As they stepped off the train and into the snowy station, the cold air bit at their faces, but the warmth of anticipation kept their spirits high. The snowy streets of Daegu lay ahead, and with each step closer to V and Taehyung, the excitement of celebrating this new milestone together grew.

This birthday would be their first together, and Jungkook couldn’t help but feel that it marked the beginning of a bond that would only deepen from here. With Jimin by his side and the twins waiting for them, it felt like the start of something truly special.
