61. Confessions Of Hearts
"Baby, please don't take away the right from me to call you my baby, it pains me deeply. I know I've hurt you in ways I can't express, but I never thought it would become this messy. I haven't shared parts of my life that I should have, and as a result, you'll never know how much I fear losing the people dear to me, including you. I don't care about others' opinions of us, but I hate the idea of our bond being judged by them and envied. Maybe I learned a lesson in the past and knew exactly what not to repeat with you because I never wanted to lose you. But now that I've hurt you, I understand why you're angry, and I deserve every bit of it. Everything is incredibly messy, and I can't convince you enough, but every moment without you feels suffocating. I'm willing to do anything and everything to win you back, so please come to me and tell me your demands. I'll make it happen just to see you smile and to be able to call you my baby again.
I love you so much, my Tae, my baby. I'm waiting for you to break your silence when you feel I can do something to earn your forgiveness, waiting for you to reach out to me when you're ready to forgive me.
— Your Kookie"
"And when do you plan to do that?" Jimin broke the silence after carefully digesting the contents of the letter, while Taehyung sought solace by resting his head on his friend's lap.
The two friends found themselves in Taehyung's bedroom, seeking comfort on the bed together. Despite being bombarded with inquiries about his well-being, Taehyung ended up sharing about his day with Jimin, who always managed to coax him into opening up. It was Taehyung who poured his heart out while Jimin listened attentively, even taking the initiative to read the letter aloud.
"I'm at a loss for words, Jimin. Even if I were to confront him, what do you think I truly want?" Taehyung whispered, his tone heavy with sadness. Jimin sighed empathetically, setting the letter aside and gently running his fingers through Taehyung's hair.
"Sometimes, we don't know about our own desires, and I wish I could help you through this situation." Jimin whispered, his words hanging heavy in the air as he captured his friend's undivided attention.
"You both need each other, and maybe a conversation wouldn't hurt?" Jimin gently suggested, but as he did, Taehyung sat up, breaking the physical connection they shared.
"I fear I'll break down like a child the moment I begin to speak. I can't shake off the memories of being pushed away, neglected, and treated like a stranger, all because of others' watchful eyes. I started to believe I wasn't enough. From the start of our friendship, I questioned whether Jungkook would ever see me as more than just a friend, and confessing my feelings was equally challenging. I can't quite put it into words, I'm afraid to lose him, just as much as I'm afraid to go back to where I was years ago and that time was the most traumatic time of my life. I don't want to return to a life where I'm someone's secret." Taehyung poured out, tears streaming down his face, which Jimin couldn't see until he cupped his friend's face to wipe them away.
"Hey... you're not going back there, and Jungkook is nothing like the person who hurt you in the past. He simply wants a chance to make things right. Why not approach him and express yourself? Jungkook will do anything to earn your forgiveness, Tae," Jimin reassured, his voice gentle yet firm, as Taehyung's tears continued to flow, seeking solace on Jimin's shoulder.
"Why am I trapped in this mess of guilt and pain? I want to both fight him and thank him for everything he's done for me and my brother. Sometimes I feel unworthy of his selflessness, fearing I may never be able to return it. My mind is a battlefield. I want to thank him for the friend he is and I wanna fight him for the boyfriend he turned out to be. I'm just... lost." Taehyung continued to sob, his emotions overwhelming him, while Jimin remained by his side, offering silent support, his hands stroking Taehyung's back in an attempt to provide comfort.
"Everything will be alright... it will all work out." Jimin whispered softly, offering words of comfort until Taehyung felt ready to stop crying.

"You know I love your brother," Jungkook finally confessed to his best friend, Dowoo, after mustering up the courage to confront him. They sat side by side on Dowoo's bed, their backs against the pillows, avoiding direct eye contact.
After pouring his heart out, Jungkook was met with silence from Dowoo, who turned to look at him before softly admitting, "I know."
With a heavy heart, Jungkook closed his eyes, grappling with the weight of his next confession.
"And that I broke his heart."
Again, Dowoo simply responded, "I know."
"You know how?" Jungkook asked gently, searching his friend's expression for any hint of understanding.
"No, I don't," Dowoo replied simply, his expression remaining blank.
Jungkook sighed, unable to bring himself to reveal how he was inadvertently hurting his brother, fearing it might cause Dowoo to hate him as well.
"Aren't you mad at me?" Jungkook inquired cautiously, meeting Dowoo's gaze.
"Should I be?" Dowoo responded, his expression still unreadable.
"No, your brother's anger is enough for now." Jungkook admitted, sitting up straight and running a hand through his hair, feeling the weight of the situation settle heavily upon him.
"I didn't cheat or anything, just to make it clear, okay?" Jungkook clarified to his friend, who extended a comforting hand to place on Jungkook's back as a sign of concern.
"If you ever did, I'd be the first one to know, and the first one to punch you if you ever hurt my brother like that," V responded casually, prompting Jungkook to turn around to face him again.
"If you trust me, that's more than enough, because I can promise you won't find yourself punching me in the future," Jungkook stated firmly, meeting V's gaze with determination.
"You know what, buddy?" Jungkook spoke again, and V hummed in response.
"First of all, can I hug you?" Jungkook requested, but V withdrew his hand from his back and rolled his eyes.
"Bros don't hug—" V started, but Jungkook interrupted with a chuckle, knowing his friend's response all too well.
And without waiting for a response, Jungkook leaned in, resting his head on his friend's shoulder and wrapping his arm around him, careful not to hurt him, as they cuddled up on V's bed. At first, V was frozen, surprised by the sudden affection, but as he felt Jungkook's warmth, he relaxed and melted into the embrace, returning the hug with equal warmth.
They stayed like that for a while, lost in the comfort of each other's presence, until Jungkook eventually decided to step back and sit up next to his friend, facing him. V sighed softly, giving Jungkook a gentle, understanding look.
"I don't know where I went wrong, but maybe we messed up because in the process of protecting our bond, I couldn't fulfill his desires to be seen as my boyfriend in front of everyone. I think you can understand this, buddy. I haven't loved a guy before, so I don't know how things should be. It's not that I feared judgment, but I feared being seen differently, questioned about my preferences, and the reason I'm with your brother. Maybe I was afraid of losing him because of it all, like I had lost someone in the past. I'm afraid of being left alone. It kills me." Jungkook poured out, his voice revealing his shattered state of mind.
Feeling a pang of helplessness, V stretched out his hand and placed it over Jungkook's head, gently ruffling his hair in an endearing gesture.
"You're never alone, buddy," V whispered softly, trying to offer some solace. Jungkook managed a weak smile in response.
"And about my brother... he's sensitive, a bit foolish too, and he's just as easy to impress. So don't worry about him." V reassured his friend, a rare moment of consolation from him, causing Jungkook's eyes to soften with gratitude.
"You really don't mind our relationship?" Jungkook questioned, his tone filled with uncertainty, prompting V to sigh before averting his gaze.
"I used to, once," V admitted, causing Jungkook to furrow his brow in confusion.
"Taehyung can get things he wants very easily. For most of our lives, we shared almost everything. Until you two became friends, I was content knowing I had you all to myself. But at the same time, I couldn't bring myself to dislike the idea of you two together, because after all my brother had been through, he was genuinely happy with you." V explained softly, his words resonating with Jungkook, who felt his heart soften.
"Hey... why would you think like that? I'm your best buddy, and I'll always prioritize you when it comes to friends," Jungkook reassured his friend, reaching out to comfort him. V simply offered a gentle smile in response.
"I know you are," V whispered confidently, his trust in their friendship unwavering.
"You truly believed I was the one making your brother happy?"
"Yeah... you were. You were the person best suited to bring happiness to my brother, and I never saw you as a threat to him." V whispered softly, feeling Jungkook's gaze soften.
"But in the end, I became exactly that." Jungkook murmured sadly, his gaze falling to the ground.
"I failed him countless times, even though it tore me apart inside. I knew he longed for the simple things, like holding hands and going on dates like any other couple, but I couldn't provide that because of countless reasons that now seem senseless." Jungkook confessed with a heavy heart, and V reached out his hand for Jungkook to grasp, offering silent support.
"I shouldn't be the one to talk like that, but you just have to make it up to him. He can never hate people; he's too pure for that. He tends to act tough because apparently, I molded him that way, but he's very soft inside. He tends to ignore and grow distant when mad, but he does it to protect himself from getting influenced easily, though that's not entirely true," V revealed, and Jungkook's eyes softened.
"Do you think he will forgive me?" Jungkook asked, and V smiled warmly, nodding in affirmation.
"Thank you, buddy, your words lifted the weight off my chest." Jungkook whispered, and V gave him a tap on his arm.
"You're my best buddy after all."
"And please don't ever think that I am any less of a friend to you just because I date your brother; you both and Jimin mean everything to me." Jungkook mentioned, noticing V's entire face suddenly went blank, which couldn't go unnoticed by Jungkook.
"I miss the four of us together, the way we used to be. Especially you and Jimin, always bickering, your sweet fights, with Tae and me caught in between but eventually laughing along with you two," Jungkook whispered wistfully, but V looked away, his anguish evident.
"Buddy..." Jungkook's voice was gentle, but V still didn't meet his gaze.
"What happened was tragic, so traumatic that it deeply impacted all four of our lives," Jungkook whispered softly, his words heavy with the weight of their shared past, but V remained lost in thought, still avoiding Jungkook's eyes.
"Forgive me if I say something wrong, but you inspire me to be the man you are. I want to be as brave, as strong, and as selfless as you are. I feel incredibly fortunate to know you because the compassion and dedication you show to your loved ones are truly remarkable." Jungkook confessed honestly, praising his friend.
"You're an extraordinary lover. A genuine pillar of support for everyone in your life and to everyone you love, a devoted brother, son, and friend." Jungkook praised sincerely, noticing tears welling up in V's eyes as he continued to avert his gaze.
"No, I'm not." V's voice trembled as he whispered.
"Don't ever let anyone tell you that you're not worthy. You are everything your parents, brother, and friends could ever hope for..." Jungkook's voice trailed off as tears started to stream down V's face.
"I'm so proud of you." Jungkook whispered, watching as V's lips quivered and a sob caught in his throat.
"Please, please don't be so hard on yourself. You are more than enough. You deserve all the love and happiness in the world because you give so selflessly." Jungkook's voice cracked as tears filled his own eyes, sharing this tender moment with his best friend who was on the brink of breaking down.
"I know you love all of us, I know you love him, but something is holding you back from expressing it fully. Whatever it is, don't let it consume you. From everything I've witnessed and experienced with you, one thing is surely clear, you truly, deeply love Jimin." Jungkook affirmed, sensing V's emotions bubbling over.
"And Jimin is the luckiest one to be loved by you."
As Jungkook finished, V began to break down in sobs and Jungkook instinctively pulled him close, offering his shoulder for comfort. He gently stroked V's back, providing solace as his friend cried.
In the silence that followed, neither of them uttered a word, allowing V to release his emotions while Jungkook offered unwavering support.
There was no denying it, V's love for Jimin was undeniable, raw, and real.

"You deserve to experience love just as deeply as you give it," Taehyung whispered to his best friend, gently wiping away the tears that had fallen as his friend poured out his heart about the day's events.
Taehyung couldn't ignore the shadow of misery on his friend's face; he needed to understand the reason behind it, only to learn that it was once again because of his brother. Yet, he couldn't afford to take sides or put blame on anyone because one was his twin brother, with whom he had shared a lifetime of experiences, while the other was his soulmate, his closest companion through life's ups and downs.
In that moment, all Taehyung could offer was his unwavering support and comfort to his friend in need.
"I just want to be with Dowoo because of what he has gone through because of me. It pains me. I get nightmares of that night. Our arguments resonate in my head all the time. The scene of him being stabbed and lying on the ground in a pool of blood always comes after my eyes, and I'll always end up helpless. How do I tell him he means the world to me without ending up in another negotiation? Why does he think that I am pushing him away while he never lets me know what goes inside his head? He can be unavailable and sometimes too attached, both of which scare me because I can't truly ever understand what he wants." Jimin confessed, on the verge of tearing up again.
"Dowoo is just a big child, Jimin, you know he holds a lot inside before he speaks out, and what he speaks doesn't always make sense. Don't dare think that he didn't like your presence, he's just bad at expressing. Because ask me, I know how much he loves to be around you, since when we were small."
"Why does he act like he doesn't like me? Why do I always have to be challenged? Why can't he just leave me or love me right? Why?"
"Because he's clueless and needs a wake-up call. You're the best thing that could ever happen to anyone, and he knows it too. He just struggles to express himself. He's never been good at reminding his loved ones that he's there for them. His actions speak louder than his words, so I wish he'd just keep quiet and continue showing you what you mean to him. It took him ages to break down his barriers with our parents, and he's doing the same with you."
Taehyung attempted to reassure his friend and to provide comfort through his tears of frustration.
"You might not realize, Jimin. He tends to push others away the most when he needs them the most. I've observed his behavior closely. I can't say I understand why he does this exactly, but he does it to ensure that no matter what, his loved ones never abandon him. He treats each of us the same way. Sometimes he can be clingy, other times distant, but what I'm certain of is that he's remarkably indifferent, and if he goes out of his way for anyone, it's because he truly cares."
"Why did I end up falling for someone so stupid?" Jimin asked through his tears, seeking solace by resting his head on his friend's shoulder while he stifled a sob with the back of his hand.
"I wonder why. But somehow, you two are meant for each other, in your own unique way. And I can't wait for the day when you both finally come together. That'll be a day of pure joy," Taehyung whispered softly, offering words of encouragement but Jimin pulled away from their shared embrace.
"We can never be together. We're constantly at odds, and I don't even know why we keep clashing. As much as it pains me, deep down, I know we can never be together. I don't want to hold onto false hope, Taehyung, because—" Jimin was interrupted.
"Because you truly love him, and a part of you just wants to know if he loves you back. Let me assure you, he does. Otherwise, why would he have kept that cardigan you're wearing in his cupboard for so long?" Taehyung pointed out, prompting Jimin to glance down at his clothes, hugging the garment tightly to his chest.
"He's a coward, and deep down, you know it too. He craved your presence during those times when he couldn't have you, so he held onto this cardigan as a reminder of your essence. And you still doubt if he hates your presence?" Taehyung questioned, his voice tinged with reassurance, as Jimin sniffled in response.
"No... it's not." Jimin tried to deny, but Taehyung insisted.
"It is. He loves you, Jimin, just as much as you love him. How come everyone in the world can see but you two?"
With Taehyung's words weighing heavily on his heart, Jimin found himself breaking into tears once again. He felt the depth of his love for Dowoo, but struggled to understand it. The misery of unrequited love engulfed him, leaving him feeling powerless and weak. Throughout his life, he had been accustomed to loving without expecting anything in return, and now, he grappled with how to end this cycle of heartache.
"Why is love so complicated? Why?" Jimin sobbed, burying himself in his friend's embrace, allowing himself to be enveloped in a tight hug.
"I wish I knew it myself."

The friends of the twins parted ways in the evening, leaving the twins to immerse themselves in their own lives.
What seemed like an ordinary day turned out to be something more. Heartfelt conversations were shared, feelings were laid bare, and long-hidden emotions were finally revealed.
For Jungkook, the act of confessing to his friend lightened his burden, yet it left his friend grappling with the weight of his words. He struggled to comprehend how Jungkook could openly express his love for his brother while also urging him to confess his feelings for Jimin.
Overwhelmed by his own emotions, he pondered how to convey his feelings without crumbling completely or appearing childish. Communication felt like a challenge to him. Either he knows to be emotionally unavailable or to throw fits like a child. How does he communicate like a normal person? He doesn't know.
As the day melted into night, the twins shared mundane interactions during meals and TV time, avoiding any mention of their friends. Eventually, nightfall nudged them back to their respective rooms for sleep.
V's physical weakness limited him to be active, prompting his brother to step in as a caregiver. From guiding him through tasks to aiding him into bed, Taehyung assumed responsibility for V's well-being. Regular reminders about medications, doctor appointments, and rebandaging wounds were all ensured by Taehyung after his parents.
This shared experience not only strengthened the bond between the twins but it always helped the friends to grow closer while the lovers drew apart.
The next day arrived swiftly, just another ordinary day in their lives filled with their assigned duties. Jimin was scheduled to be in classes this time, leaving Taehyung to care for his brother, while Jungkook, as usual, had his classes to attend. Meanwhile, V remained at home.
As the days passed, V's frustration grew, feeling disconnected from the outside world and overwhelmed by his emotions. Each morning followed the same routine: mundane meals served by his brother, followed by assistance to the bathroom.
Although V had made progress with his physiotherapist and could move independently, Taehyung remained cautious, which only exacerbated their morning arguments. But don't worry, they are just brothers.
On his way to college, Jimin walked alone, his friend Jungkook nowhere in sight. With his phone in hand, he checked for messages from Jungkook, but found none. Uncertain if Jungkook would be attending classes, Jimin decided to call and leave multiple messages, yet received no response.
As he approached the building after a lengthy walk, Jimin couldn't shake his frustration at Jungkook's sudden irresponsibility. Concerned for his friend's well-being, Jimin couldn't help but wonder if Jungkook was okay.
Despite feeling isolated in the midst of the bustling crowd, Jimin pressed on, determined to navigate the day without his friends. The absence of their company made the day seem longer, and he struggled to find ways to occupy his time, but he continued with determination only to be interrupted midway.
"Jimin!" The familiar voice caught Jimin off guard as he walked through the corridor of the main building attached to his department.
Turning around swiftly, Jimin found Yoongi hurrying towards him.
"Hey!" Yoongi greeted with a gummy smile, his joy evident at seeing Jimin, who was slightly surprised.
"Oh, hyung."
"Long time no see," Yoongi said casually, his demeanor melting under Jimin's soft aura, reflected in Jimin's cute outfit and appearance.
"Yeah, it feels like forever." Jimin replied, his eyes reflecting a similar longing as he gazed at Yoongi.
"How are you?" Yoongi asked, and Jimin simply sighed, conveying everything without words.
"Come here." Yoongi said, pulling Jimin closer without hesitation. Their bodies collided, and Jimin lost himself in Yoongi's embrace as the elder one hugged him tightly.
"You've been through a lot. You don't have to worry anymore." Yoongi whispered soothing words, while Jimin held him just as tightly, finding solace in the comforting scent that always put him at ease.
Yoongi's presence has a transformative effect on Jimin, turning his sorrow into comfort with just a hug. Despite not wanting to break the connection, Yoongi pulls away, recognizing the urgency of their commitments, and Jimin follows suit.
"I think you have a lot to tell me, and I have a lot to make up for the lost time, but we both need to attend our classes." Yoongi whispered, gently cupping Jimin's cheeks. With shining, soft eyes, Jimin looked up at him and nodded in agreement.
"I'll meet you at the break, lunch is on me. Okay?" Yoongi added before releasing his hands from Jimin's cheeks. Jimin stared at him affectionately as Yoongi gave him a pat on the head and walked away, leaving Jimin pondering why Yoongi made him feel so safe.
Their bond is complex, filled with unspoken understanding and genuine joy when they're together. Jimin wonders if what they share is love or simply a place of solace.
~♡~
Jungkook tossed and turned in bed, his body feeling unusually heavy and warm. Struggling to open his eyes, he reached for his phone on the nightstand.
His body ached, and his head throbbed with heat, sending shivers through him as he gingerly pulled back the covers. Blinking against the bright screen, he checked the time, realizing it was already noon. Jimin must have left for college and attended several lectures by now.
"Shit!" Jungkook panicked, attempting to get out of bed, only to be met with a barrage of sneezes as he struggled to rise.
As Jungkook lay back in bed, defeated, he read through Jimin's message, feeling overwhelming guilt wash over him. Despite his attempts to type a response, another sneeze interrupted him, forcing him to lay back once more.
Realizing he had neglected his health in favor of other responsibilities, Jungkook regretted misunderstanding the signs of weakness and exhaustion. Now, caught in the grip of approaching winter, he found himself sick.
But how could he asked for the need of someone to take care of him? How could he reach out and ask for help without feeling vulnerable or burdensome?

"Hey guys! J-Hope here! Support my new vlog series, 'Hope on the Street,' which kicks off today with this episode. I'm here with my friend Yoongi, who's hanging out with another friend—oh, hi Jimin!" J-Hope exclaimed, enthusiastically recording his vlog as he chronicled his day, starting from university.
During break time, after attending his first four lectures, Jimin received a call from Yoongi, who was waiting outside his class to take him to lunch. They ended up in the cafeteria, engaging in conversation.
Jimin shared snippets of his struggles, carefully selecting what to disclose, while Yoongi listened attentively and expressed concern. They exchanged updates about their lives until they were interrupted by J-Hope, who captured their interaction for his vlog.
"Did you eat?" Yoongi's first question to his friend interrupted J-Hope's recording for a moment.
"Yeah, yeah, I was with my dance group, Neuron. They're onto something, so I decided to come to you, but it seems like you're already accompanied." J-Hope replied casually, his brightness always brightening those around him.
"Glad you ate. Me and Jimin met after a long time, so we decided to eat together." Yoongi explained.
"Oh, wait, yes, almost slipped out of my mind. How's your boyfriend?" J-Hope asked, catching Jimin off guard.
Yoongi sighed, looking away and putting down his iced coffee.
"His friend, Dowoo, is fine now. Jimin shared everything with me. He's recovering." Yoongi spoke on Jimin's behalf, who looked away shyly.
"Oh, just a friend? Sorry, I misunderstood your sneaky encounters as something else." J-Hope laughed loudly, reminiscing about past events where he found Jimin and V in questionable situations.
Yoongi simply judged his friend's laughter, watching as J-Hope paused momentarily to take a sip of his iced tea.
"Sorry about that. I'm glad your friend is better now. Please take care of him, and don't hesitate to ask us for help if you need it—"
"I've already told him that." Yoongi interrupted, and J-Hope turned to face his friend.
"Oh, great. Well, I feel like I disturbed you two, please continue," J-Hope said, addressing Yoongi and Jimin. "And Jimin, don't mind me if I said something stupid, I kinda am, so anyway, bon appétit. I'll continue with the vlog."
As J-Hope excused himself, Yoongi fist bumped his friend and gave Jimin a reassuring look. Jimin nodded in understanding.
After J-Hope left, Jimin heard his phone buzzing repeatedly and decided to check it. To his surprise, he found multiple texts from Jungkook.
"Hey Jimin, I'm very sorry I couldn't check your texts earlier
I just got sick and I couldn't get up
I don't think I can come
Please forgive me, I had no idea this would happen"
"Shit!" Jimin exclaimed as he read the messages, quickly standing up and rushing to gather his belongings.
"Jimin, what happened? Where are you going?" Yoongi asked, bombarding him with questions as he observed Jimin packing up.
"I'm sorry, Yoongi hyung, Jungkook just texted me that he's sick, and I think I need to go see him. I'm really sorry to leave like this." Jimin explained hurriedly.
"Oh no, don't worry." Yoongi reassured him.
"Thanks for the meal and your company. I really appreciate it." Jimin expressed gratefully, while Yoongi waved off his thanks.
"Ah, no, it's nothing. Be careful on your way." Yoongi replied.
"Thank you, take care of yourself." Jimin said before hurrying off.
"Take care." Yoongi sighed, watching Jimin walk away once again, feeling unable to stop him.
~♡~
"What? Oh no... wait—Jimin, let me go there." Taehyung panicked on the phone as his friend informed him about Jungkook, while V sat unbothered on the couch in the dining room.
"Jimin, come here instead and let me be with Jungkook. Take care of Dowoo in my absence, please. I need to see Jungkook." Taehyung pleaded, his panic evident as he paced in the kitchen.
"What happened to Jungkook?" V couldn't help but get curious.
"He's sick and caught a fever last night. I need to go check on him. Take care of yourself until Jimin comes and looks after you. I need to go.." Taehyung rushed in panic as he grabbed his coat and shoes.
"What? What do you mean? Hey! Tell me if Jungkook is okay!" V shouted from the back as Taehyung rushed away.
"I'll call you after meeting him, take care of yourself!" Taehyung shouted lastly before shutting the door, leaving V to sigh and sit back on his couch.
He quickly reached for his phone and dialed his friend's number multiple times out of concern, but each call went unanswered, adding to his worries.
"This motherfucker—" V cursed angrily on the call before he heard the doorbell ring, causing him to roll his eyes in annoyance.
His brother had just left, and now someone else was already there. Could it be Jimin? That's all he could think before he cautiously approached the door.
Opening it with his usual blank face, V expected to see Jimin, only to be met with a familiar face, causing his eyes to widen and his lips to part.
"Hi V, how are you?" A soft, concerned voice greeted him as V looked at her face in shock.
"Stacy?"
"I missed you so much." Stacy said, stepping forward to hug him over his shoulders, leaving V feeling overwhelmed and definitely confused but there's also someone else on his way to them.
