25. Make It Right
Yeah, only if he knew.
But he definitely wanted to know what's been causing the blonde haired twin to treat him this way, out of the blue, so strangely and in some ways he was kinda ignoring him?
Jungkook couldn't wrap his head around it, he won't lie when he says he possibly reimagined every interaction of them in his head to find his fault. He simply couldn't understand what caused Taehyung to grow this distance in just a couple of days.
They didn't meet even for a spare second during the day and Taehyung didn't come to have lunch with them either and on top of it he didn't care replying to him even though Jungkook tried many times.
Something was definitely off.
But poor him had his practice later on that he couldn't miss even though with his head and heart he was kinda lost.
It wasn't any better for his best friend who was just as lost when he met him on the pitch, wiggling eyebrows at Jungkook after catching him spacing out.
Jungkook caught sight of him and simply shook his head, starting his warm up for the match and so did his friend besides him.
The hot and toned big arms of the two were seeming bigger than before, and something about Jungkook's one arm filled with tattoos fascinated his friend who kept looking at it.
"How much did it cost you?" V asked while stretching his own arms and Jungkook faced him.
"Huh?"
"Your tattoos."
"Oh, no idea. Never counted them." Jungkook answered honestly and his friend just nodded.
"Why? You wanna get them?" Jungkook asked with a gentle smile and V sighed before running his hands through his hair.
"Yeah, on my head, saying 'stay fucking away'." V said with the most serious face that had Jungkook chuckling.
"Woah, that's so Post Malone of you." Jungkook chuckled and V just looked away, bending to stretch his legs.
"But isn't it ironic, I don't need it to be tattooed on my head for people to do so." V said so casually that Jungkook frowned with concern.
"Woah, that was personal. You good buddy?"
"I'm great. Anyway, if I ever wanna get a tattoo will you join me?"
"Sure, is that even a thing to ask?" Jungkook extended his fist for his friend to hit until their coach whistled for them to gather up for the game.
~♡~
The other side Taehyung was again, all by himself when he walked himself to the art studio, solitaire and gloomy. Wondering how he would manage to stay this away if it wasn't for Jungkook to go for his practice.
He knows if Jungkook was to be near him, flashing his smile he would forget everything and just be normal but what hurts just hurts.
He didn't want to keep this distance but he didn't even know what else to do so he ignored him as much as possible, knowing somewhere it was a bit harsh on the other.
But he couldn't let his feelings slide.
"Oh hi Taehyung!" Soon he heard a familiar voice calling from behind, being the pair of girls he recently became friends of.
"Oh hi Yeri, Hi Wendy!" He greeted with a smile and the girls gave each other a look before looking at him.
"Alone again?" Wendy asked and Taehyung just gave a blank smile.
"Your boyf- I mean best friend is at practice again?" Yeri asked, stumbling with her words that her girlfriend had to squeeze her waist a little and Taehyung simply looked down.
"Yeah, he is." Taehyung simply replied and then looked up at them.
"We have nothing much to do today, all the decoration is done and today the stage and all the music stuff will be set there. So, should we just chill and paint?" Wendy asked and Taehyung raised his eyebrows in an excited manner.
"Oh really?"
"Yeah, whatever you like, we have extra canvas."
"Oh sure."
With this they decided to find a place to sit, being closer to the window where they ended up having empty chairs against a table, the two girls deciding to sit on the opposite of Taehyung who put his bag on an empty one beside his own chair.
"So, what should we draw?" Wendy asked, wondering as she looked around.
"I draw you and you draw me." Yeri said in an enchanted way, making a flower of her face by putting her open hands under her cheeks respectively.
Taehyung just silently looked at the two.
"Since it's three of us on the table, I think we should draw something common." Wendy suggested, not wanting Taehyung to feel left out.
"Oh, yes, we can do that."
Taehyung simply gave her a smile for her consideration.
"Umm… what about the scenery outside, we're sitting at the window anyway." Yeri suggested and Wendy looked at her girlfriend then, smiling with a nod.
"Great idea. What do you think of it, Taehyung?" As she asked Taehyung looked a bit taken aback, wow she really cared asking for his opinion.
"Oh, it's okay, I don't mind."
"Okay, then let's do it." With this Wendy showed her hand for her girlfriend for a high five then to Taehyung who did without any delay.
They began to make rough sketches with pencil first, all of them finding something to be busy with and whilst this Yeri being the silly one didn't leave a chance to cling or annoy her girlfriend who would sometimes ignore her or sometimes ask her to sit still and Taehyung would quietly admire them.
"For how long have you been together?" Taehyung decided to ask the girls who paid their attention to him.
"Oh, it's been about two years?" Wendy guessed.
"Ah, Wendy, it's three now, how can you forget?" Soon she heard her girlfriend whining.
"Oh really?" Taehyung asked with amazement and they nodded.
"Yes, we were best friends since middle school, then one day I had a boyfriend in high school and Wendy-"
"And he was an ass." Wendy added and Taehyung looked at the two back and forth with excitement growing on his face.
"Yes, he was an ass which I found out later but when I had that boyfriend I started feeling like I was losing Wendy and she was mostly ignoring me. Right?" Yeri asked her who hummed.
"It's obvious because I didn't like him and also was not okay seeing her with someone else. At first I thought it's just complex friendship things but then I realized it was more." Wendy added and Taehyung seemed so fazed, listening so carefully as if his life depended upon it.
"Then, what happened?" He asked, dropping his pencil to fully focus on them.
"I was sad when Wendy was away, she was ignoring me a lot. No phone calls or texts until one day I had to approach her and ask."
"And I couldn't hold myself anymore and finally confessed how I love her a lot. I was afraid she might reject me or hate me for my choice but-"
"But since I love Wendy a lot and didn't wanna lose her, I accepted her feelings. We didn't suddenly become girlfriends, we just knew about those feelings, we talked about it and decided to just kiss one day." Yeri recited and smiled so big, leaning her head onto her girlfriend's who smiled at her.
"Yeah that's it, we have been together since then. Most people think we are just best friends but it's okay, we don't owe anyone any explanation." Wendy said later on and Taehyung's expression suddenly tensed after they finished their story.
Taehyung simply lost himself in another zone. Why? Maybe he could kinda relate to their story but again kinda not because he has known Jungkook less than they have known each other. Should he expect anything from it when they haven't even known each other for as many years as them?
He didn't want to think about it because everything was taking him back to that day when Jungkook confessed to love girls and left no room for Taehyung to keep any hope. The reason he was left to be nowhere and ended up ignoring him for no reason.
"Does anything change when best friends become lovers?" Taehyung then asked the two who wondered about it before answering.
"I don't know, in our case nothing much changed. We do everything we used to do as best friends, except for talking about guys." Wendy answered and Taehyung just sighed and looked down.
"I bet he's thinking about his best friend he has a crush on." Yeri whispered to Wendy, a whisper a bit too loud for Taehyung to hear who looked up instantly, Wendy nudging her arm into her girlfriend again.
"Don't mind her."
As if Taehyung had any choice. It wasn't like she was lying. He decided to just paint.

"Oh yeah! Jimin-ah, you nailed it today. That's what I was expecting." J-hope exclaimed happily as soon as he saw Jimin's performance, the last round of rehearsal finally done by Jimin who was so delighted to get all the cheers from his seniors and fellow performance mates.
Jimin bowed to them, smiling so big with his chest heaving up and down with all that effort he put through his performance.
"Now with your perfect clothes for the dance, some touch up and your hair, and of course the stage lighting, it'll be an insane combo." Hoseok added and extended his hand for Jimin to help him get from the stairs of the stage, who smiled, nodding while taking deep breaths.
"Thank you so much."
"Oh you're welcome." Hoseok smiled at him, giving a tap on his shoulder before leaving to focus on the other performance.
"Nailed it." He then heard Namjoon say who was watching it all and Jimin giving him the biggest smile.
"Oh thank you."
"Sure you're gonna win if you keep it up." Jin added and Jimin kept bowing to them happily, earning a wink from his senior before he decided to walk away and get his bag from one of the chairs in the built audience row of the theater.
He took his bottle to sip, wondering about the absence of a certain someone.
He decided to put his bottle back in, putting the bag on his back before he decided to walk backstage, making his way to the studio sneakily.
And then he stood in front of it's door, keeping his ear at it to listen if Yoongi was in.
"No one's in." Suddenly he heard a voice, jolting him in surprise because Mr. Min Yoongi had just appeared in front of him out of nowhere.
Jimin put his hand on his chest, taking a deep breath.
"Ah, when did you come?"
"Just when you walked in to put your ear on the door." Yoongi said casually and Jimin looked away out of embarrassment.
"Oh I was… wondering if- if you were busy playing piano again."
"Why were you wondering about me being busy with piano? Haven't you walked in on me playing piano many times anyway?" As Yoongi asked, Jimin looked more embarrassed.
"Okay, you got me. I was here for you." Just when Jimin said defeatedly Yoongi smiled victoriously, that rare smile that Jimin saw for the first time in his life, a smile involving his gums and teeth.
"Anyway, how's your practice going?" Yoongi asked and Jimin just nodded.
"Well, I got compliments from your friends so maybe it's nice."
"Oh really? But you know they just compliment anyone." As Yoongi said, Jimin dropped his gentle smile.
"Am I really not that good?" He asked with soft puppy eyes and Yoongi scrunched his nose.
"Kidding. You must be amazing. Anyway, I'm excited for the party though, I'll finally see you dance." As Yoongi expressed, Jimin pressed his lips together for a blank smile.
"What is it?" The elder asked, finding him lost in his thoughts.
"I don't know if I'm going." Jimin then whispered sadly, trying to activate his charms to pretend to be as poor as possible.
"Why?" Yoongi asked with a frown.
"Nothing just… haven't been asked yet." Jimin whispered and looked up at Yoongi, showing him his shiny eyes.
"Then you ask anyone." Yoongi simply said.
"I don't like anyone in my class, those who are nice have been asked already. So I kinda don't know."
"I bet your punching obsessed friend must not be asked yet." Just as Yoongi mentioned, Jimin frowned intensively.
"Okay, you didn't have to mention him. First he is asked and second I don't care if he's even asked, I'm not going with him. Never." Jimin said dramatically and Yoongi chuckled.
"You kids these days, ah. Then ask someone else other than your class and other than your friend." As Yoongi suggested, Jimin wandered his eyes around and then landed on Yoongi, chewing the inside of his lips nervously.
"Can I ask any senior?" Jimin asked and Yoongi nodded.
"You sure can, if they agree."
"Will they agree?"
"They definitely will."
"Sure?"
"Sure."
"I mean like 100% sure?"
"Yes, 100% sure."
"Will you come with me?"
"Yes, sure- wait a second what?" Yoongi asked with a bit of surprise and Jimin widened his eyes with a bit of amazement.
"I asked, will you go with me? I have no one to go with." Jimin requested with pleading shiny eyes and Yoongi shut his mouth for a while.
"Asking me only because there's no one else to ask?" Yoongi asked to confirm and Jimin's gaze softened.
"No, that's not what I meant, I mean- I wanted to just- ah… I understand if you don't wanna come with me. My way of asking wasn't right and also I'm sorry that I-"
"Do I need to come and pick you up?" As Yoongi asked, Jimin shut his mouth, looking up right into his eyes and not believing what he just asked.
"Wait- are you?"
"Umm, I was wondering what I should wear?"
And fuck Jimin couldn't contain his smile, smiling so big and almost forgetting that man was still his senior that he suddenly jumped on to hug and Yoongi was a bit taken aback by it, hugging him back nonetheless.
"Oh, I'm so happy. Thank you!" Jimin backed away, clasping his hands together happily and Yoongi for the first time ever just seemed a bit shy, looking around but at Jimin out of that timidness.
He was more than just happy to be asked.

Taehyung was done painting his canvas and soon did his friends too, all of them showing it to each other with so much adoration and not leaving any chances to praise each other's creations even though they were not the best ones so far but it's all about enjoying what you do.
"Let's put it here to dry. I wanna get coffee so bad." Wendy then expressed.
"Me too." Yeri added.
"Let's get them then. What do you want Taehyung?" Wendy asked the male who looked up at them, shaking his head in denial.
"Oh no thanks guys, you don't have to."
"Oh come on, we are just going to get anyway, should get one for you too." She encouraged and Taehyung couldn't deny it anymore.
He hates coffee, but maybe he'll have it like he had dozens of mint choco ice cream if they insist.
"Okay."
The girls left together to get their drinks, leaving Taehyung to look after their canvases, the boy sitting there in the club with barely a couple of students around.
Since they had not much of a work to do, many didn't even attend the club but there was one person reluctantly working in the corner and Taehyung could only see the back of him.
He seems to work on a model project. The guy was working for so long, the blonde haired male had caught sight of him many times but then he found how he stood up to look at his work, contemplating something.
All that Taehyung could see was his back so he decided to approach him out of curiosity, to maybe see what he was working on.
Taehyung walked leisurely, trying to check what he was making until he decided to stand at a little distance and see what he was making.
The said guy could feel someone's presence so he turned his head to find Taehyung standing there, tilting his head slightly as he kindly recognised him and so did Taehyung who slightly widened his eyes to see his face.
"Ah, hi?" The guy asked hesitantly.
"Oh hi." Taehyung replied with the same hesitation.
He must have recognised the guy but he doesn't know his name.
"Umm, the guy from the exhibition?" The guy standing there pointed at Taehyung who was thinking about it as well nodded.
"Yes, you remember me?" Taehyung asked and earned a fond smile from that guy.
"Of course I do, you changed my day or maybe my life." The guy said with exaggeration, continuously smiling at him while Taehyung smiled hesitantly.
And it was the same guy Taehyung helped on his very exhibition, approaching him first when no one did, giving him the stickers for his best work and soon the guy, his senior art student, was extremely delighted and always thanked him inside.
"It's Wooshik, I'm in my final year of architectural art major. I have seen you for the first time. You must be a fresher." Wooshik said, earning a gentle nod from Taehyung.
"Yes I am."
"Your name?"
"Kim Taehyung." Taehyung answered with a gentle voice and the other one smiled at him.
Taehyung seemed more enthusiastic the other day. Now he just seemed so shy and collected, still cute.
"Oh nice to meet you, Taehyung." Wooshik smiled at the blonde haired one.
"New hair, I almost couldn't recognise you." The elder commented and Taehyung smiled hesitantly.
"Yeah, just a makeover."
"Suits you."
Taehyung kept smiling and he didn't know why.
"Anyway, I feel like I couldn't thank you enough that day, now that we have met, thank you so much." Wooshik showed his gratitude, smiling at the other one fondly. Something about his dimples made him look so friendly.
"Oh, you don't have to." Taehyung panicked slightly.
"No you deserve it."
"Ah, it's your talent. You deserved the appreciation."
"But no one could see my talent if it wasn't for you to start it." Wooshik added in a sincere way that Taehyung couldn't just disagree with him.
"Anyway, where are your friends?" Wooshik asked, trying to start off a casual conversation.
"Oh, just went to bring coffee."
"Oh."
"By the way, what are you working on?" The curious little bear finally asked, pointing at his model and Wooshik gave him the fondest smile.
"Wanna know?"
The little one nodded several times.
"Sit then."
~♡~
"Off for today mate, I'm done with the practice." Jungkook told his friend once they finished their practice game.
"Same. Wanna go and eat?"
"Oh no, I have to visit the club once." Jungkook denied, causing his friend to frown.
"Why so?"
"Just to see if they need me in any way, haven't helped them enough with the decorations."
"Bro, you just ran around in the field for hours, you still have the energy to help them?" V asked and Jungkook just carried his bag from the bench, giving his friend a tap on his shoulder.
"You can come over to my place tonight, see ya later." And saying this Jungkook decided to leave after taking a shower.
Him in his iconic tank top, revealing his tattooed arm, shorts, his knees and his sports shoes beneath. The hair fresh off dripping water even after being soaked with a towel as the latter put his stuff in the locker and carried on with a bag hanging from his shoulder.
His reason to visit the club was obviously Taehyung. He hadn't just heard his voice in a while and fuck that shit doesn't sit right.
He decided not to run like yesterday because his practice kinda ended early so he simply walked all the way from the ground to the art club after crossing a couple of departments.
His eyes were engraved on his phone he checked in his way, the text still unseen and that kinda felt very devastating.
He looked up and slid his phone into his pockets once he reached the art club, looking around to find the one.
"Oh hi!" Soon he heard the same familiar voices, belonging to the pair of girls.
"Oh hi!" Jungkook replied, the two of them smiling at him with cups in their hands.
"Looking for Taehyung?" Yeri asked and Jungkook widened his eyes in amazement, nodding without any delay.
"Us too, hehe." Yeri giggled in a silly way.
"He must be in." Wendy suggested and Jungkook decided to walk past them to enter the club, looking around to find him.
The club was comparatively emptier than the usual days and spotting the blonde head wasn't a hustle because he just found him in one of the corners.
And he didn't seem alone.
"I might have an exhibition soon. You know, after your great help I could finally regain my confidence to work well. So yeah, for you." Wooshik handed Taehyung a card and he looked down at it, smiling so big.
"Oh really? Aww, thank you. I definitely will be there to support you." Taehyung was so enchanted to hold the invitation card to an exhibition and that to be his new cool senior he grew fond of after having some time to sit with him and talk about art.
He seemed very interesting and intelligent, with so many interesting ideas all summed up in his head that Taehyung was sitting and letting him speak but never got bored once.
And now he even invited him for the exhibition, could it be any better?
But all this while there was Jungkook, standing there a little far away, looking at Taehyung smiling and talking so contagiously with that new guy.
"Taehyung?" Wendy then called the guy who looked away from the card in his hand to the side.
"Your coffee." Wendy handed him the cup.
"And your boyf- best friend, he was looking for you." Yeri dragged Jungkook further who was quietly staring at him all this while, catching Taehyung's eyes on him.
The blonde was smiling big but to spot Jungkook his smile suddenly just disappeared, his face going blank to find the other one there and Jungkook could see everything, the way he lost his shine of eyes and smile to find him there.
What in the world did he even do to deserve this?
"Oh, your friends are here, anyway, nice to talk to you, let's talk some other time, I'll be leaving early today." Wooshik informed, tapping his shoulder and leaving the club as he had something else to do while Taehyung just stood there staring at Jungkook.
Wendy and Yeri passed each other glances after looking at the two back and forth.
"Should we leave them alone?" Yeri whispered to her girlfriend.
"We better do." And saying this Wendy dragged Yeri away, leaving the two to stand there, staring at each other in pure silence.
Jungkook's eyes seemed to carry a weight of sorrow, a bit of disappointment and slightest of pain while for Taehyung he seemed like he saw a ghost, he didn't know what to do.
Jungkook hated the silence between them and it kept growing with the time, just them staring and no one darling to speak up.
The Iced Americano in Taehyung's growing warmth of the hand seemed to melt the chunks of ice in it, the condensed water dripping from the cup, still not cool enough to calm his burning inside down.
And Jungkook's heart was sinking in so bad, after seeing him talking so happily with that guy and being normal with everyone but him. That shit just fucking hurts.
"I tried to call you." Soon Jungkook decided to break the ice between them but Taehyung was still frozen.
"And texted you." Jungkook added, his voice laced with disappointment and sorrow that Taehyung felt so small and just looked down.
Jungkook kept looking at him, not knowing what else to say or do. He just seemed so disappointed that he wanted to fight him, to show how mad he was but then again wanted Taehyung to just speak up and break that awkwardness between them.
"Taehyung… what have I done wrong?" Jungkook then asked with a low voice, sounding so down as he stepped a little and Taehyung's heart almost clenched, that pain physically felt all over his chest that he hated.
He did nothing wrong. Yet Taehyung couldn't just explain it.
Soon it was just the two of them in the club, all of them students leaving the club and they were left there being part of the empty quiet space. Taehyung just couldn't say anything, because while hanging his head low, he was trying to conceal those tears that were pooling in his eyes.
"Can I at least get a chance to know?" Jungkook asked again, this time almost coming off as a plea and Taehyung squeezed his eyes, it was so heartbreaking.
He was escaping him for his own reasons, for his expectations coming in the way of their friendship yet without any fault Jungkook was there to make it right, ask him like a gentleman but Taehyung couldn't just say anything.
The cup fell from his hand and the drink smeared everywhere, surprising Jungkook who just stepped back and then he saw how Taehyung just turned around and walked away hastily, not even turning once and leaving it hard for Jungkook to register it all at once.
The football player was left to be standing alone there, drink fallen all over the ground and on his shoes while Taehyung left the club like that without saying a word, even though he tried to ask.
Now something was definitely off but Jungkook was a bit hurt too. Too hurt because he doesn't even know what he did to deserve this.
Is it valid to feel all of this over a friendship?
