SUILAD MY KIDDOS!!! I'M BACK WITH A COLLAB!!

Okie dokie. So over on discord we were working on this collab, where you throw one of your OC's in the collab-chat and someone else get's to draw an outfit for them. We obviously did it all organised, don't ya worry, so in the end the list looked like this

Redsy designs an outfit for Mithiells OC
I design an outfit for Redsys OC
Caput designs an outfit for my OC
Mith makes an outfit for Caputs OC
Souli makes an outfit for Maddies OC
Sweri makes one for Souli's
Bella makes one for Limi's OC
Maddie makes one for Sweris OC
and Limi makes one for Bellas

... big collab.... big list of names that doesn't really say a lot.... but overall, the only thing you must have understood is:
I draw an outfit for an OC of Redsy
Caput gives one of my children an outfit

Redsy put Sumi in the chat.... and I fell in love... so I was allowed to make her an outfit...
So here's Sumi and her little companion (who's name I always forget aaahhh):

And I had a lot of fun creating an outfit.Overall she seems to be quite confident in her body and not afraid to show some skin, so that means more creativity and less limitations. I also liked the asymmetry going on in her design a lot, so I had to incorporate that together with the grey-green-red colour scheme.

I was thinking about tanktop and leggins, with some cool arm thingies. After that it did indeed look a bit empty, so I added a weird skirt-thingy as well ^-^"
.... I also had a lot of fun with those shoes.... because I wanted to go boot. And it turned out good owo.

But yeah... I don't have a lot to say to the process of the outfit really. It just... came right out of the flow, you know??

And... DANG.... the end result from Reds is really good. I still feel honoured ot have designed that thing for her xD

So now we come to my OC, who has been put in clothes by Caput.
Who did I choose?
Well... I was tempted to go with Ruindîr... again... but instead I went with Rock, since he's one of my children with a stupid nickname and get's abandoned a lot.
I hate him. He's the only OC I ever created and hated to the core... so I try now and then to befriend him... but... dunno. We do indeed get along better after this drawing, but he's still not in my good books.

So yeah... I drew him in april sometime....

Oh man... the days I couldn't draw beards were... interesting.... but I'm still proud of that hair xDD

So then Caput came along with this for him:

Overall: great outfit, has some nice symmetric-break going on there, the colour scheme didn't tickle my fancy at the beginning, but I ended up really loving it! I also fell in love with those leather strap connection thingies >w<

But I did indeed face some problems I had to fix, prior to drawing Rock in the outfit (and none of this is to be seen as critique to Caput. It is indeed only a rough sketch and the elements were only to be seen "symbolically" for the actual thing. These are just things I had to figure out beforehand and why.):

- the armour is... not realistic and very problematic, if I were to keep it exactly as it was drawn there. he can't move his hand at all, because the arm armour is limiting his joint there quite a bit, his elbow is very much limited, since the armour wraps around from the side and he thus can't bend it nearly at all, and the shoulder plates would jam in his neck, if he tried to move his arm upwards a bit.
I'm not an expert on armour and I probably did quite some mistakes myself in my drawing, so don't think I know a lot of what I'm talking about. This is just observation and logic.

- the straps on his other shoulder would just fall down... they have no support whatsoever and would literally just slide down his arm >w<"

- the lack of detail in the boots and leather armour bothered me.... so i had to figure out my details.... because I love details and need details.

and then there were overall problems I wasn't sure whether to change up or not... because there is no way the arm could stay naked below that armour... the poor boy would have a sore and bloody arm after about three hours... it would also burn his skin if it were warmer. So I was indeed thinking about adding a second arm to that shirt... also... I was thinking about adding some sort of armour on his second arm, because he's have terrible back and arm pains for the extra weight on the one side...
dunno... a lot of design choices were made, that I personally very much wouldn't and whilst I was thinking about changing stuff up, I remembered what this was and simply stuck with my original plan of figuring out details and fixing the arm-armour.

So I got out my clothing base (which Caput ironically also uses xDD) and started redrawing the outfit, focusing primarily on the armour and colours, since more details mean more place for more colours, and I would never ever use as bright colours as Caput did >w<

(on the front of my little "redraw" up there... i made this after I had my own pose figured out, which is why I indeed didn't draw the amour how it would be on the left arm. I just... turned it in my head... before you think I just made the same thing I critisized just before >w<"")

I mainly just added detail to the leather brestplate and left everythign away that wasn't extremely necessary... like... who needs to draw two shoes, when I've already figured out one? I also found reference for the things I didn't draw, such as the hand... but yeah. so much to that.

Now I had my outfit........ and I was struggling with the legs of the pose, so I just drew a new headshot of Krah, to figure out the colours and his facial features in my present style.

Cool cool. Now to the actual drawing. I started with a rough idea for a pose... which was a struggle, since I rarely draw straight up standing people... and especially not with legs. So... yeah...

I then went on to sketch out the head and give this thing a proper torso :D

it was all fun and games until I had to do the legs... I had literally everything sketched out, except the legs... I hate drawing legs... arms, torso, hands, face.. whatever, it's all fun. But legs and feet? I'm at war with those.

And usually that's not a problem, because as soon as you bend legs it's all fine! I can draw bent legs... just not straight ones... and that's an issue...

Yeah... I'm more the face n torso kinda person, but I need to get into the habit of drawing full-bodies... simply because I want to make character lineups... yeah. For literally no other reason...

Anyways, I survived the stuggle (through procrastinating for weeks) and was now faced with this:

So I continued to sketch in the clothing now, simply pasting in the sketch for the breastplate, since I really liked that and no way was I going to draw that a second time.

I especially had fun with the boots and armour in the end... because.... well, detail....

After I had that beautiful sketch done I started on my "lineart" which is essentially just sketching on top of everything, so that I have the same pencil-width everywhere...

Welp, I was now looking at this thing. I did indeed just use my headshot I drew before as "sketch" for the lines here, simply because I was lazy and so done with this picture. You have no idea how badly I just wanted this thing to end >w<"

Welp! Lines all done, now I could move to the colours, which I personally find to be the most fun part of it all ^-^

It was a pretty simple process and whilst it was fun, I did indeed get sick of it after a while.

And so I left it at that and moved on to doodle a small background image. He's a kinda forest-tundra-coastline kinda guy, so I drew this forest and blurred the fuck out of that thing.

to make it look more aesthetic I then made my more or less iconic circle thingy, clipped the drawing to it and made everything more purplish-grey to fit the characters vibe more.

Now... I somehow didn't export another WIP, so everything is did after that was just finishing up the colouring, adding some skin details, then throwing that background in there and adding some texture overlays to make it look cooler...

THIS WAS SO PAINSTAKING AND IT TOOK ME FUCKING FOREVER AAAHHH...

(i think i also was the last of the participants in the collab to finish... which was indeed kinda embarrassing because the next collab was already going on >w<")

Anyways. You guys better fucking like the picture, because it took way longer than it should have. I'm just joking of course, but I do indeed hope you like it... I personally like the picture a lot, even though I think I shouldn't have made his eyes so large. They look a bit out of place >w<"

So yeah. pretty short chapter for such a long drawing if you ask me. I really like the process of it, even though I struggled a lot and jut wanted it to be over, it was nice to have this project to keep going back to. I also like, that I now have a "base" for Krah, so I can draw one of his actual outfits on there for once ^-^
The outfit itself... it was very different to my usual stuff. And it was quite obvious that I abandon Rock too much, since poor Caput didn't even know that he has a phobea of the colour purple >w<" I probably will draw my version of it sometime, fixing all the issues I have with the design choices and make it more practical for the character himself.
