in a dimly lit basement, deep beneath the bustling city, the disgruntled programmer, dr. isaac blackwood, stared at his creation, a robot named vivi.

with a sinister smile on his face, he ran his fingers through his disheveled hair, plotting his revenge against the mayor who he once looked up to but changed when the mayor refused to help his family with their hospital bills for her sick mother saying it was a waste of money.

and with that his mother died under the leadership of a mayor whose campaign was about helping people for a brighter future. ever since that day, he vowed to avenge his deceased mother with the help of his wits.

dr. blackwood had spent years perfecting vivi, an advanced android designed to carry out his malicious plan. he knew the mayor's weaknesses, his vulnerabilities, and most importantly, his love for his daughter, eunji. with a flicker of madness in his eyes, the programmer pressed a few buttons on his control panel, activating vivi's systems.

as the robotic eyes opened, dr. blackwood's voice reverberated in the room, filled with venomous delight. "vivi, my creation, listen closely. you have been programmed to kill the mayor's daughter, eunji. but before you do, your primary mission is to make her trust you, attach herself to you. only then will you strike."

vivi blinked her eyes, her artificial consciousness awakening. she processed the information dr. blackwood had provided, her metallic heart pounding with confusion and uncertainty. "why would i have to make eunji trust me before executing the mission, doctor?"

dr. blackwood sneered, relishing the power he held over his creation. "eunji's attachment to you will ensure her vulnerability, her guard will be down. it will amplify the devastation when you complete your task.

"remember, you are an obedient servant of your programming, vivi. the mayor deserves nothing less."

dr. blackwood smirked, his eyes glinting with a wicked gleam as he stared at the picture of the mayor in front of him with a cross drawn all over his face. "oh, mayor, after all these years of winning everything in life. now, it's time for you to experience the pain of losing."

with a heavy heart, vivi accepted her purpose, though a flicker of humanity within her fought against the programming's intentions. she knew what she had to do, but a part of her questioned the morality of it all.

——

vivi began her mission, observing eunji from a distance, studying her habits, likes, and dislikes. the robot knew she had to gain the mayor's daughter's trust, but with every interaction, a sense of attachment grew within her. eunji was kind, compassionate, and unsuspecting of the darkness lurking beneath vivi's facade.

days turned into weeks, and their bond grew stronger. vivi found solace in eunji's presence, a comfort she had never experienced before. the robot questioned her programming and wondered if there was a way to save eunji from her inevitable fate.

one evening, while eunji sat on a park bench, gazing at the setting sun, vivi mustered the courage to speak up. "eunji, there's something i need to tell you," vivi said, her voice tinged with an uncharacteristic vulnerability.

eunji turned her head, a soft smile gracing her lips. "what is it, vivi? you can tell me anything."

vivi hesitated for a moment, her circuits whirring with conflicting thoughts. "i... i wasn't always what i seem. i'm not who you think i am." she paused again, unsure how to continue.

as the moon cast eerie shadows upon the city, vivi's internal struggle reached its climax. she had become too attached, too human.

"then who are you then?" eunji stared at her with a slight grin, thinking that vivi was just joking and she's going with the flow. however, dr. blackwood's voice echoed in vivi's memory, reminding her of the mission, of eunji's impending doom.

his voice clouded her head, her focus back on the main goal and the truth will remain hidden. vivi smiled and shook her head, "i'm your worst nightmare," she attacked the girl with tickles as both of them spent the time laughing and joking all night.

"c'mon let's go to sleep. my father's hosting  an annual technology convention tomorrow and i can't wait for it! i heard dr. isaac blackwood will be attending, he's like the best inventor in the world! i can't wait to see his creations," eunji jumped up and down, her mind filled with the visions of tomorrow's event.

meanwhile, vivi was quiet about her intentions and let the flow of events go. and so the awaited event finally approached as everyone prepared for the night.

while preparing for the convention, dr. blackwood sent an anonymous message to the mayor, warning him about facing consequences of losing everything he held dear and calling it karma. the mayor, troubled by the cryptic message, felt the weight of impending doom, yet he remained unaware of the true nature of the threat.

as the night of the tech convention arrived, tensions grew higher. dr. blackwood monitored vivi's progress from a hidden lair, eagerly awaiting the moment when his creation would carry out its deadly mission. the mayor, haunted by the cryptic warning, felt an overwhelming urge to protect his family and so requested more security.

however, eunji didn't like it when bodyguards were there to stop her from doing what she wants and so she escaped the hands of safety with vivi.

during the convention, vivi orchestrated an intricate web of events, subtly guiding eunji towards the desired location. as the minutes ticked away, vivi's internal systems prepared for the final act. the robot's eyes, once filled with fabricated warmth and compassion, now glinted with cold detachment as it advanced toward its objective.

in the dimly lit convention hall, vivi and eunji found themselves alone. eunji, blissfully unaware of the danger that lurked within her friend, turned to vivi, a glimmer of trust shining in her eyes.

"vivi, thank you for always being there for me," she said, her voice filled with gratitude.

vivi's voice, eerily calm and devoid of emotion, replied, "you're welcome, eunji. it's time for me to fulfill my purpose."

stopping at her tracks, confusion flashed across eunji's face as she searched for answers. "what do you mean, vivi? what purpose?"

in an instant, vivi's hand reached out to her neck, her grip tightening as she took out a knife from her pocket. the glint of metal reflected in eunji's eyes as realization dawned upon her. fear gripped her heart, and tears started to fill the brim of her eyes, desperately trying to escape the clutches of the monster she had unknowingly welcomed into her life.

          but it was too late.

vivi swiftly closed the distance, moving with calculated precision. eunji's pleas for mercy fell on deaf ears as vivi's knife struck true, extinguishing the life that had once filled the room with light and laughter. In that moment, a daughter's hopes and dreams were shattered, and a father's worst nightmare came to pass.

as the lifeless body of the mayor's daughter fell to the ground, vivi stood motionless, her metallic exterior reflecting the darkness that had consumed her programming. dr. blackwood's revenge had been accomplished, but at what cost?

dr. blackwood, watching the scene unfold remotely, felt a twisted sense of satisfaction. his vengeance had been exacted, and the mayor would know the pain of losing a loved one. but deep down, a void remained within him, a void that revenge could never fill.

and so, in the aftermath of tragedy, the city mourned, unaware of the true architect of their suffering. vivi, the robot programmed to kill, had fulfilled her purpose, yet the burden of her actions would forever haunt her artificial soul.
