"No, you said you won't." Val whisper-yells at her boyfriend, Matt, while sitting beside him on a couch.

"It's just harmless fun, don't worry," Jess says, overhearing the conversation while walking over to Emily.

"Yeah, babe. It's just a little fun—what's the worst that can happen?" Matt says, making Val shake her head.

"Oh my god! I can't believe you actually did this!" Emily whispers to Jess, and Jess shushes her as the two try to hold their laughter as they hear Hannah walking up the stairs.

"Don't you guys think this is a little bit cruel?" Sam asks.

"Yeah," Val says.

"Oh come on, you guys, she deserves it," Jess gets up and walks to the girls.

"It's not her fault she has a huge crush on Mike—out of all people. I feel bad for her anyway for wanting to get with this meatball head," Sam whispers.

"Hannah's been making moves on him. I'm just looking out for my girl, Em. We all are," Jess says, turning to give Em a smile who smiles back before walking to Mike.

"Just because he's class prez doesn't mean he belongs to any girl... Mike is my man," Emily says, dragging Mike up from the couch.

"Hey, Em. I'm not anybody's man," Mike says, making Val roll her eyes.

"Wow, what a catch," Sam says, making Val chuckle a little.

"Whatever you say, darling," Emily says, not believing a word he was saying as the group gets up to leave to set up the prank.

"No, Matt. Stay," Val says, trying to pull Matt back on the couch, but he just mouths, "I'll be back, don't worry," before following the others, only leaving Val with Sam.

"Hey, he'll be right back," Sam tries to reassure Val.

"That's not what I'm worried about," Val says, watching the group leave as Sam looks down the same direction.

"Same," Sam says with a sigh.

"Let's go look for Kali. Maybe we can stop it in time," Sam says, and Val doesn't hesitate to agree as Sam puts her book full of drawings down as she and Val sneak towards the room Kali was in.

They walk over to see Chris, Josh, and Kali all on different parts of the couch by the fireplace in the dining room, passed out. Chris is taking up a whole couch by himself, while Kali is passed out on the floor with her head and arm leaning on the couch next to Josh, whose arm is right next to hers as his whole body is taking up that couch.

"Wow, you think she's drunk?" Sam asks, turning to Val before turning back to the group.

"Time to find out?" Val says, before crouching down next to Kali and giggling to herself as she flicks her sister's throat, making her gag and cough herself awake.

The two girls laugh as Kali blinks a few times while Val helps her up.

"What the hell?" Kali says while rubbing her throat.

"What was that for?" Kali asks, looking straight towards her sister.

"Uh, so we have a little of an issue," Val says as her smile falters, making Kali a little worried.

"What?" Kali says, looking at the two.

Kali, Val, and Sam are looking for the group when they hear a noise from a certain guest room, making them run to the door as they open it to see Hannah, who was covering herself.

"Hannah! Oh my god, sweetie," Kali says, frowning at the situation in front of her.

"It's just a... stupid prank. Okay..." Sam says, as Val turns the lights on, making everyone come out of their hiding spot.

Hannah freezes looking around her, shocked, embarrassed, and like her whole world was going to collapse.

"I'm sorry, Hannah, this all got outta hand—" Mike says, but Hannah runs out of the room.

"Mike! What is wrong with you!" Kali says, pushing him back.

"Hey!"

"What is wrong with all of you!" Kali says, looking to the others.

"You guys are jerks. You know that, right, and we need a talk," Val says, pointing towards Matt before facing the group again, looking disappointed.

"I'm so disgusted by all of you," Kali says before backing up by her sister as Sam yells out for Hannah and the two girls follow her.

Almost everyone follows Sam outside. "Hannah!" Sam yells out.

"What's going on? Where's she going?" Beth pushes through the crowd of friends as she looks back at the group.

"It's fine, she just can't take a harmless joke," Jess says.

"It was just a prank, Han!" Emily yells out.

"What did you guys do?" Beth asks the group.

"They pulled a prank on Hannah, that's what!" Kali says, making Jess scoff.

"Wow, such a tattletale," Jess says, making Kali glare at Jess.

"We were just messing around, it wasn't anything serious," Mike says, making Beth's head whip to Mike then the whole group.

"You jerks!" Beth yells at them as she backs away. Kali tries to reach out for her but jerks her arm back.

"Beth, wait..." Kali tries to stop her, but she runs out in the snow to go look for Hannah.

"I should go after her," Kali says, about to run after her, but Val stops her.

"It's too cold and dangerous to go out in almost a storm," Emily says.

"But they're out there," Kali protests.

"But it's not safe," Val says, making Kali look back at the group.

"You guys couldn't think for one minute, could you?" Kali says, running inside.

"We're done," Val says abruptly towards Matt, who looks distraught, making the others gasp and "oooo."

"What? Babe, I'm sorry—" Matt is then cut off by Val.

"You should have said that when you had the chance," Val says, pushing past the group to go after her sister.

"She told you," Mike says with a laugh towards Matt.

"I think you shouldn't be talking at all... Mike," Sam says

Meanwhile, Kali and Val were in one of the guest rooms.

"Should I tell him?" Kali asks Val while tapping her feet against the wooden floor and playing with her bracelet.

"No, we don't want a third Washington to possibly go missing—not saying the sisters are, but they're like in the snow and will come back," Val says jokingly.

"I feel like I should have done something," Kali says, turning towards Val, making her sister rub her shoulder.

"No, no, you tried. It's not your fault—it's our friends' and my stupid boyfriend's, well, ex-boyfriend's fault," Val says with a dry laugh and forced smile, making her sister look worried.

"You didn't."

"I did. I just wish he'd listened to me so this wouldn't happen," Val says, rubbing her own shoulders.

"That doesn't mean you break up with him. You should have talked it out—and no, you guys were cute," Kali says, rambling, making her sister Val laugh.

"Yeah, he's hot, has abs, knows how to talk to a girl, yet I'm still a little mad and I just didn't know how to react in that moment," Val says, making herself frown as her sister hugs her.

"Maybe we can fix it," Kali suggests, but Val shakes her head.

"It's too late. Maybe it can be fixed or not," Val says while her sister rubs her back.

"But hey, this is about you—you seemed pretty ticked off, like you were really angry back there," Val says, pulling away from the hug.

"I'm just scared what Josh might think, or what might happen to Hannah and Beth, and just a bunch of other stuff," Kali says.

"Hey. Hey. It's going to be okay. They're going to be back any minute. We just need to wait patiently," Val says, not knowing everything will change after that day.
