Even though the Hammerhead had backed off and run back to its herd, Jake had yet to notice a Thanator sneaking up behind him. Y/n, up in the trees, gasped quietly to herself, knowing how vicious those creatures are. Jake was still boasting and feeling proud of himself for scaring off the Hammerhead, even if it wasn't him who did it, but rather the creature that stood behind him, snarling.
"Yeah? come one! What you got?" Jake said, still failing to notice the animal standing behind him. "Oh, yeah. Who's bad? That's right. Yeah, that's what I'm talking about, bitch" Jake continued to taunt, continuing to boast at the hammerhead that was getting further away from him and running back.
Y/n rolled her eyes at his behavior, still gripping her bow tightly, and feeling like she might have to step in soon to help this man against an animal as ferocious as a Thanator. 'Skxawng' She thought to herself, confirming her thoughts from earlier, but still letting a soft smile come across her face. It was mostly because the situation was funny to her at the same time.
"That's right. Get your punk ass back to mommy" Jake said, seeing the herd of hammerheads start to go back in the direction they came from, while the Avatar was still completely oblivious to what was behind him.
"Yeah? Yeah, you got nothing. You keep running. Yeah, and why don't you bring back some of your friends, huh?" Jake said, making Y/n giggle slightly. Even if he was being cocky and he didn't know what was about to happen, the situation certainly was entertaining for her.
The Thanator behind him began to snarl menacingly and Jake turned around, seeing the black panther-like creature. In fear, Jake's ears lowered and flattened while his eyes went wide. He wasn't as cocky now as he was before. The Thanator growled and roared, then leaped over Jake and threatened the hammerheads that were still nearby. "Oh, shit" Jake whispered in shock and fear mingled together.
The hammerheads did not back down and roared even louder, making Jake grip his gun even tighter and aim it at either creature. Norm and Grace got in a safe spot behind a tree, trying not to attract too much attention to the hammerheads or the Thanator. Both scientists started backing away while Jake remained in the same position.
The Thanator eventually lost interest in the hammerheads and turned to Jake, starting to prowl towards him, making Jake aim his gun more precisely at the beast. "So, what about this one? Run? Don't run? What?" Jake asked more quickly than before, his anxiety taking over his words and speech. From up in the trees, Y/n was urging this man to run. He had no idea how vicious this species is, and if he played his cards right, he might get out alive from this situation. Just maybe.
"Run! Definitely run!" Grace said, and Jake wasted no time, lowered his gun, and started running towards the path they came from, but eventually steering a bit off course and leaving Norm and Grace somewhere else.
Y/n followed Jake as he ran as fast as his legs could carry him. She was up in the trees leaping from tree branch to tree branch. If needed, she would step in, but for now, she wanted to see where this goes.
As Jake ran faster with the Thanator on his tail, he jumped in between a bundle of trees where he was able to fit through but the Thanator was able to nudge its way in and continue its chase after the Avatar. Jake leaped over trees, roots, rocks, and bamboo poles, and tried his best to find shortcuts, but it didn't work because the Thanator always found a way back to chase him. Jake eventually wormed his way into a grove, or barricade, of roots that had a spot for him to hide in, but the beast was able to find the Avatar once again easily.
Y/n landed on a branch on the same tree that Jake was hiding in below her. She peeked downwards and noticed how the Thanator started to use its claws to attempt to get to Jake beneath the roots. The branches were destroyed easily by the Thanator, starting to leave Jake without almost no hiding space anymore. The creature stuck its head inside the grove roots and Jake only continued to back away further into the tree for safety and out of the jaws of the Thanator. The beast roared at the fact that Jake was getting further away.
Trying to find a different angle to attack from, the Thanator moved for a second and then came in from another corner of the roots, almost biting off Jake's limbs, but thankfully he had quick reflexes and tucked himself back further. Trying once again, the Thanator used its claws and its jaw to tear through the roots, making more space for the beast to reach Jake.
Seeing no other option, Jake lifted his gun and started firing. Bullets were being shot at an alarming speed, creating a barrage of an attack on the animal. The Thanator pulled back from the tree in pain of the bullets and to avoid them altogether. Jake screamed as he continued to shoot but the beast was quick enough to take the gun from his hands with its mouth and strong jaw, tossing it far away and out of Jake's reach, leaving him without protection.
Not having any other option, Jake began to run once again and left the tree through a small crack he found. The Thanator took notice of this and chased after him again. Just as Jake thought he had lost the creature, the Thanator tackled him to the ground. Y/n had been following them from the trees the entire time and this time, she thought this was a good time to try and intervene but for some reason, she held herself back and stayed put.
Before Jake could crawl away and run away again, the Thanator locked its jaw onto his backpack and swung Jake around like a ragdoll, who was still latched into his backpack. Thinking quickly, Jake did the smart thing and unbuckled the straps of his pack and slid out, taking off running again before he got caught by the beast. Once the Thanator realized the Avatar had escaped as well as the fact that the backpack was now useless and empty, it took off after Jake again.
Running as fast as he could, Jake came across the edge of a cliff. Not seeing another alternative, Jake jumped and fell towards the banks of the waterfall below him, narrowly missing the jaws of the Thanator who had just caught up to him. The Thanator stopped in its tracks just at the edge of the cliff, roaring at Jake who had now fallen into the water.
Y/n had seen all of this happen and found a small path that led to the other side of the waterfall where she hoped the human would appear. Seeing his head emerge from the water and the Avatar hanging onto a rock by the shore, Na'vi sighed in relief.
She didn't have to intervene, her presence wasn't found out, and he was smart enough to make it out alive of that tenacious moment. Y/n climbed higher up in the tree and saw the Avatar hang onto roots that were growing from the shoreline, catching his breath for a few moments before starting to make his way out of the river and then further into the jungle.
Now that he was safe for the meantime, Y/n wanted to observe him for a little while longer. Trailing after him unnoticed, she watched as she reached into his pocket and pulled out a small box with what looked like matches and then a pocket knife to make a spear. He was searching for a secluded spot to hide in while he created his weapon, and hopefully, one that would last him through the night.
As it sun started to go down on the Pandoran jungle, Y/n completely forgot that she was supposed to go back to Hometree before sundown or Tsu'Tey would tell Neytiri and he would send a search party for her. Y/n continued to observe his mannerisms from afar, seeing as Jake had become completely paranoid about the situation he was in.
His head turned at every small sound around him, whether it was a branch snapping, a bug chirping, or animals in the distance. A small part of Y/n just wanted to watch over him to see to it that he'd make it out alive until his comrades arrived to get him, even if what she was doing was strictly forbidden. He has no knowledge of the world he is in right now, so Y/n just wanted to stay for a bit more, and then she would head back to Hometree.
Once Jake had his spear ready to use, he walked through the forest while wielding his weapon protectively against himself while Y/n was laying face down on a branch with her bow in hand, in case of an emergency. The Na'vi wanted to protect him, but then remembered something very important.
This was a Sky Person she was seeing, and not doing anything about it. It was prohibited. If anyone else from her tribe had this opportunity, they would kill him immediately, so why wasn't she doing the same? What was stopping her? She was supposed to be an example for her clan, and this wasn't what she was supposed to be doing.
Ignoring her concerns for this man, she knew what had to be done. Y/n got up and crouched while preparing to notch an arrow to her bow. Y/n then aimed her arrow right at Jake's head. She never liked murdering innocent beings, even if he was a Sky Person.
Y/n let out a shaky sigh and before she could shoot, her hair started to dimly glow and a seedling from the Tree of Souls landed on the tip of Y/n's arrow. With surprised eyes, the Na'vi gasped quietly to herself, realizing this was a sign from Eywa, The All-Mother. Both her hair and the seedling were telling her that she was not supposed to kill this man and that his spirit was pure.
Y/n lowered her bow and felt relieved that she didn't have to kill this man. She didn't want to. The Na'vi girl was grateful that Eywa intervened and brought her intentions back to the ones she had initially about watching over him, instead of killing him like she was about to do.
Following Eywa's will, Y/n continued to watch over this man, and protect him if she had to. She was a bit more relaxed now, knowing she could do what she was originally planning, even if she knew she would receive an earful when I returned home.
The night began to fall and the forest became darker, but it was just the right time for all the bioluminescent fauna and flora to light up the jungle of Pandora. Y/n followed Jake quietly, but she saw that he was holding his own pretty well for it was his first time in this environment. With every moment that passed, Y/n felt herself feeling more and more entranced with this man, and she couldn't explain why.
Back with the scientists, Norm and Grace were able to get back to the helicopter safely where Trudy was there waiting for them, along with Lyle who had kept watch the entire time.
After seeing Jake wasn't with them, they started to search from above as the helicopter flew over the forest, but there was no sign of Jake whatsoever. Grace hung over the edge with binoculars to see if they were able to spot him but to no avail, he wasn't in sight.
"I'm gonna have to call it, guys. We're not allowed to run night ops. Colonel's orders" Trudy said with a defeated sigh. "I'm sorry, Doc. He's just going to have to hang on 'till morning" Trudy stated, maneuvering the helicopter for Grace to search in different sections of the forest.
"He won't make it 'till morning" Grace sighed, sitting back down on the helicopter, giving up their search for the day and heading back to base to the RDA headquarters.
-
It was now completely nighttime in the Pandoran jungle, and Jake was still all alone in the forest trying to find a way back. Critters and creatures were chattering everywhere, only making Jake's distress heighten even more. He used the small box of matches he had to try and ignite the spear he made with fire.
Before doing so, he held the box in his mouth while dipping his spear, which had his first layer of clothing wrapped around the top part of it, onto tree sap he found that he could light on fire his spear, therefore, have light. Plus, a weapon he could use to keep the animals at bay. Y/n continued to watch and saw how ingenious his tactics are.
After lightning up one of the matches, he ignited his spear and now was finally able to see much better at everything around him. The moment he lit his spear on fire, he was able to see that he was being preyed on by a pack of Viperwolves who snarled and hissed threateningly at him, whilst also circling Jake menacingly.
These were black dog-like critters that had a laugh that sounded an awful lot like a Hyena back on Earth. Jake waved his spear back and forth to try and keep them away, but it was barely working at all. Y/n saw this happen and knew that he would hold his own, but at the same time worried that he might die at the hands of creatures like these.
Y/n did not want to kill the Viperwolves, especially if it was for no reason at all. These creatures did not deserve it. These critters were just showing natural predatory behavior, and she couldn't kill them for that. At the same time, she wanted to save this man from what was coming if he didn't play this out correctly. Knowing Sky People, they'll use violence at the first sign of trouble, and this man looked like he wasn't any different.
Eywa sent Y/n a sign to protect this man, even if she didn't know why just yet, she knew she had to do something or she would spend her whole life thinking about what she could've done. With the way Jake was waving his spear in the air, Y/n knew he would end up fighting something around him on fire.
Jake continued to back up and tried to get away from the Viperwolves as best as he could, but they only got closer to him with their taunting laugh-like howls. They were on him from every angle, and soon, he will have nowhere to hide. This worried Y/n deeply. Jake continued to aimlessly wave his spear around, being very close to lighting on fire the plants and trees surrounding him.
Knowing there was no way out of this, Y/n decided that now was the time to step in or he would die in this forest. She promised herself she would only kill if necessary, and Y/n was afraid that this was one of those times.
"I don't have all goddamn night. Come on! Come on!" Jake yelled and tried to poke the creatures with his fire spear, trying to impose fear on the Viperwolves but it was not working.
Eventually, some of the Viperwolves started to jump from their spots on the trees and onto Jake. The first one incoming was smacked and swatted away by Jake with his spear, making it whimper in pain. Another one of them tried to lunge at Jake but he stabbed it with his spear and the Viperwolf cried out in pain. The creature attempted to move away with the spear still stabbed onto its body.
Before jumping into action, seeing these animals suffer hurt Y/n in a way she couldn't imagine would be possible. A massive headache came to her head and light began to softly dim in her hair. These episodes happened to her whenever harm came to any part of the Pandoran wilderness in her vicinity, and this was a perfect example of it.
These animals were in pain, and she needed to relieve them of that. She couldn't bare to see fauna or flora hurt right before her eyes. If she saved this man right now, not only would she be doing what she has wanted to do since she laid eyes on him, she'd be saving these creatures as well at the same time.
One particular Viperwolf nearby snarled and lunged itself at Jake, and as a reaction, he took out his pocket knife and stabbed the creature and sliced its neck completely, then tossed it away and moved on to the next one. Even more of the Viperwolves started to attack him and landed on him. As he started to escape, one of them grabbed onto the hem of his pants and knocked him down to the floor.
Jake grabbed the creature struggling to keep it away from him and that is when Y/n shot out her first arrow and it penetrated one of the wolves that were about to jump on the Avatar once Jake got rid of the one that attacked him.
After seeing the colorful feathered arrow land on the small wolf, Jake looked at it for a second and looked around to see where it came from. He tossed the creature off of him and noticed Y/n come out of the treeline as she launched another one of her arrows at Viperwolves who were closing in on Jake.
He looked at you in astonishment and wonder, but also shocked that you were protecting him. If he wasn't mistaken, you were a Na'vi, and he had heard only terrible things from Quaritch about how these were 'savages' and violent people with no regard to feelings at all. But in reality, the Na'vi was the complete opposite of that. They're more connected to the nature around them than humans think.
Once Y/n landed on the ground, she figured out another tactic that will simply scare away the creatures, that way she won't have to kill them directly. With every Viperwolf that came her way, she swung her bow at them and knocked them away. This caused her headache to return, but this time, they came tenfold.
Out of nowhere, one cane from the shadows jumped on Y/n and knocked them backward, but she had quick thinking so after they finished tumbling, Y/n got on top of the Viperwolf and stabbed it repeatedly over and over again with her dagger made from the wood of Hometree.
This whole fight caused her headaches and her hair to dimly glow in the night, which is something Jake noticed and was immediately captivated by. Her pain was even greater this time around since she was the one inflicting the pain on these innocent animals. Y/n groaned through the pain as she warded off the Viperwolves, not letting it show to the man that she was hurting, given that it was her greatest weakness and she didn't know him at all.
Once it was dead, Y/n panted softly with adrenaline roaring through her veins. She climbed off of the dead animal. She saw a few more incoming and swatted them away as they retreated in pain while her headache pain continued. Her hair started to glow brighter in the moonlight, entrancing Jake while she fought the Viperwolves.
When there were no more in sight and there were no more creatures to kill, Y/n hissed, baring her fangs and teeth, while her tail swished menacingly. No matter how intrigued he was by you, he held his knife close to him in case you decided to fight him as well. But the opposite happened. The glowing in your hair started to fade away and soon, you had your hair completely black once again.
Y/n turned to Jake and stared at him thoughtfully and curiously, trying to figure him out. The Avatar and the Na'vi looked at one another and the eye contact never ceased. Each of them had a million questions running through their heads about one another.
She couldn't understand why she feels such a strong connection to this strange man that came from the Sky People, but she had other things to worry about now.
Y/n showed no signs of aggression towards Jake, and instead, as the signs of danger diminished, Y/n shielded her eyes from the light of the fire that the spear emitted, then proceeded to grab the weapon, that the Viperwolf had already rid itself of, and then she threw it to the river nearby.
"No, wait! Don't!" Jake said, knowing what she was about to do but it was already too late, given that the fire was put out and the spear was submerged in water. Seeing this, Jake chuckled, feeling defeated and angry at the same time, all the while throwing his arms up. "Great..." He muttered.
Y/n heard whimpering from afar, so she walked over and realized it was one of the Viperwolves that she had shot an arrow to. She felt guilt deep within herself for causing this animal harm, but even so, she knelt to the floor and pulled out her arrow, and then slit the animal's throat, stopping the whimpering and its suffering.
"Oeru txoa livu. Ma oeyä tsmukan, ma oeyä tsmukan" (Forgive me. My brother, my brother) Y/n breathed out, finally letting the animal go out in peace and to be with Eywa. The Na'vi girl rested her hands on the animal and began her prayer while Jake wandered off by himself to fetch his now useless spear.
Once he had his spear back from the river, Jake stepped out of the water and sighed knowing his spear wasn't of much use anymore. He lifted his head upwards and his mouth hung open at what he saw. The bioluminescence of the forest was very prominent at night, and everything around him glowed in beautiful colors that took his mind completely off of his ruined spear momentarily.
Not sparing attention to Jake, Y/n continued to pray as she knelt to the other Viperwolf she shot with an arrow. Jake got on his knees and turned his attention to the Na'vi woman reciting a prayer in her language to the animal in front of her. "Look, I know you probably don't understand this, but um...thank you" Jake started quietly while Y/n still ignored him and placed her hands on the deceased creature.
"Thank you" Jake repeated, thinking she must not have heard him. Y/n pulled out the arrow from the animal and continued to pray for a life of peace for the Viperwolf. "That was pretty impressive," He said nervously, to which Y/n finally turned to him and met his eyes. Jake was taken slightly aback by how beautiful she was. Especially her eyes. Before he could look at them a little more, she turned away from Jake and continued with what she was doing.
"I would've been screwed if you hadn't come along. It was..." Jake started bashfully, but then realized you were already walking away. He stood up and went after you. "Hey, wait a second. Hey, where are you going?" Jake said as he called out after you and followed wherever you went.
Y/n continued walking with Jake on her trail trying to get an answer. "Wait up! Hey...just slow down" He said to you, but you just kept walking forward. He tried to grab ahold of your arm, but he failed.
"Look, wait up. I just wanted to say thanks for killing those things" He said, and this time he was able to grab your hand momentarily for a few seconds before you felt sparks, and that he felt too but didn't have enough time to register, made you turn back at him and slapping his face with your bow, knocking him down to the ground hard.
"Damn!" He exclaims in pain, rubbing his cheek. Y/n winced at what she did. It was just a reflex that she has and can't control it. She didn't mean to hurt him like that. She had too many emotions going on, and even if she displayed a stone-cold face to him, she just wanted him to go back to where he came from so she could forget this happened and move on.
Truth is, feeling his touch alone for the first time made you feel butterflies. You had been watching him from afar, but never expected to come into actual physical contact.
Y/n pushed her feelings aside and pointed hee arrow in his face. "Don't thank. You don't thank for this" She hissed with narrowed eyes at Jake, but this time, the Avatar was able to get a full glimpse of her eyes that he wanted to look at again so badly. "This is very sad. Very sad only" She continued.
Jake raised his hands in defense, not wanting to be on the receiving end of that bow again. "Okay. Okay, I'm sorry. Whatever I did, I am sorry" He laughed nervously.
Y/n sighed and walked away for a few seconds before coming back to stand in front of him. "All this is your fault. They did not need to die" Y/n said sternly, trying to get her message across to the Sky Person in front of her.
"My fault? They attacked me. How am I the bad guy?" Jake scoffed, but Y/n pointed her arrow at him again. "Your fault!" She yelled back, clearly frustrated. Jake backed away from Y/n at her outburst. "Ey! Woah!" He held his hand out to protect himself from her bow.
"Your fault!" Y/n said again, and Jake held his hand out to her again. "Easy, easy. Shh," He said, trying to get her to calm down and let him explain. The language and perspective barrier was too big, hence the miscommunication.
"You're like a baby. Making noise, don't know what to do" Y/n said while Jake pushed her bow away slightly to the side.
"Hey. Shh, fine. Fine" He said, finally getting up from the floor with his hands still held up defensively. "If you love your little forest friends, why not let them just kill my ass? What's the thinking?" Jake asked, genuinely wanting to know the reason why she saved him back there with the Viperwolves.
Y/n stiffed at his question and looked at him in confusion. She still wasn't quite sure why she saved him, but she just knew that she didn't want to see him die. "Why save you?" Y/n asked, and Jake nodded. "Yeah. Yeah, why save me?" He asked her, looking into Y/n's eyes.
Jake did not feel threatened by Y/n. Even if it's the first time they meet, he felt comforted and safe around her, as if he's known her for years already.
"You have a strong heart. No fear," Y/n said softly. Without thinking, she let a soft smile come through her stoic face. Jake smiled, then walked closer to her while she stood still in her place. Neither of them dared to break eye contact. She didn't know why she wasn't walking away when being this close to a Sky Person was already bad enough as it is.
Y/n shook her head quickly and came back to her senses. Y/n pushed him back, making him stumble, and confusing Jake. "But, stupid! Ignorant like a child!" Y/n finished and walked off by herself. Jake chuckled, watching you walk away into the forest. All he could think about was what you in that moment.
Before he lost you in the woods, he caught up to you and proceeded to ask you many questions. "Well, if I'm like a child, then, uh, maybe you should teach me" He proposed, trying to use his time here wisely and complete his mission, but you continued to walk forward and not looking back towards him.
"Sky People cannot learn, as you do not see," Y/n said sternly, not looking back at him, and continued walking.
"Well, then teach me to see" Jake pressed and insisted, making Y/n scoff at his words, she almost laugh. "No one can teach you to see," She said while coming across a very narrow path that she ran effortlessly through.
"Woah" Jake muttered, shortly after reaching the narrow path you were in. It was a giant tree trunk that connected two different trees and was very high off the ground. Either way, he didn't let that stop him and ran carefully along the tree trunk until he was able to catch up with you.
"Look, come on. Can't we just talk? You and me? Say, like where did you learn to speak English? Dr. Augustine's school?" Jake said, and at his last few words, Y/n snapped her head back to him right as he tripped and almost fell off the edge until you caught him and pulled him back up.
Y/n pulled him up so hard that he stumbled forward, causing their faces to be insanely close, with noses touching and direct eye contact with one another. Y/n'a eyes widened and she pushed him off with a scowl, but still not hard enough for him to fall. In the corner of her eye, she could see him smiling, making her feel even more embarrassed.
"You're like a baby!" Y/n said, then turned away from him and spoke in Na'vi. "Faysawtute..." (These Sky People...) Y/n muttered under her breath.
Jake needed to find a way to convince you to help him, otherwise, he might just never finish this mission and complete his deal with Quaritch. This operation was his ticket to get his legs back, and he needed you to do that.
"I need your help..." Jake sighed, making Y/n turn to him. She widened her eyes. What could he possibly need her for? When he reached out and intertwined their hands together, it didn't even last a second because Y/n pulled her hand away from his.
'This should not be happening, I need to go back' She thought to herself in panic, turning her head away from his gaze. She would be lying if she didn't feel those damned butterflies again in her stomach when he did that.
"You should not be here," Y/n said sternly, backing away from him and gesturing for him to go back the other way.
"Okay, then take me with you" Jake suggested, but you refused. "No! Go back" Y/n replied sternly, really wanting him to leave before it was too late. "It's prohibited. Sky People can't be here" You explained, hoping he'd understand what you were trying to say.
Y/n tried walking away but it was futile. "No," Jake said, going after you and trying to get ahold of your hand again but you pushed him back by his chest. "I said no! Kehe!" (No) Y/n said again, not understanding what was so hard to comprehend about what she was saying.
"Go back!" You said through gritted teeth, beginning to feel incredibly frustrated at this man. Before Y/n could do anything else, she looked up and her eyes softened at the sight. Hundreds of Seedlings of Eywa began to descend onto the pair.
Y/n closed her eyes and breathed in Eywa's presence. She felt much more at ease now that she had a familiar feeling keeping her sane. Due to the presence of the seedlings, Y/n's hair began to glow intensely, which she hadn't noticed had happened yet but Jake did and his eyes widened at the sight. He couldn't decipher why but he was entranced by this woman. This was one of the many things that has made his heart flutter since he laid eyes on her.
Y/n opened her eyes to see that the seedlings began to land on him softly and gently. Hundreds of them surrounded the Avatar, and I smiled softly at the sight. That smile vanished when she saw Jake slap one away, and Y/n held his hand to stop him, her touch making his heart flutter.
"Ftang nga!" (Stop that!) Y/n said in a panic, not wanting him to do that again, and held his arm and hand tighter. He stared at you for a few moments, almost as if he was analyzing you. He didn't fight it, but another one came down on him and he swatted it away. "No! Atokirina! (Seeds of the great tree!)" Y/n said sternly, while the seedling floated away elsewhere.
Y/n watched as Jake let down his guard and seedlings surrounded him, while her hair began to glow a bit brighter, but not obnoxiously. More like in a soft tone of pure white. Eventually, it dimmed and came back to how it was. Jake couldn't help but admire her as more seedlings landed on him. You were a complete mystery to him, and he liked that.
Jake raised his arms slowly and allowed the seedlings to land on him gently. To Y/n, this was the sign that she had been looking for. "Atokirina..." (Seeds of the great tree) Y/n said softly and smiled. This is what Eywa was trying to tell her and she had been failing to see that this entire time, but now she knew what she needed to do at that moment.
Y/n took back a few steps, admiring the sight before her. "W-What...what are they?" Jake asked with curiosity and nervousness. He was staying incredibly still and carefully to not spook the seedlings away.
Before Y/n could reply, her hair started to glow and she started hearing the voice of Eywa in her consciousness. This was the man I was supposed to be with. He will unlock my true potential to protect the people.
"These are Seeds of the Sacred Tree. They're very pure spirits" Y/n said softly, and Jake understood. He nodded; "Uh huh..." He chuckled, staying still, and letting the seedlings be on him until he suddenly felt the seeds fly away and disperse on their own back into the wilds of the forest.
"What was that all about?" He asked, but you were looking somewhere else. "Lolu Aungia..." (That has been a sign) Y/n muttered to herself, trying to decide what to do.
She then turned to Jake and said; "Come" Y/n grabbed his hand and pulled him with her. Again, this made his face feel warm at her touch which he still hasn't gotten used to. "Come!" She said louder, leading him through the path back to Hometree.
Letting his hand go, she let Jake follow after him. "Where are we going?"He asked, but she gave him no answer and just gestured for him to continue to follow her.
On the way there. Jake touched one of the bioluminescent mushrooms and it made it glow even more than it already was. Amazed by this, he continued to run through the path full of mushrooms and touched them all.
Y/n soon reached a part of the path where the stones glowed with every step you took, and smiled turning back to Jake as he played with every mushroom he came across. Just the fact that he was entertained by that was so endearing to you, and it made you smile.
"Come," Y/n said to him again, and he quickly complied, following right behind you. Getting closer to Hometree, Jake had spent all this time with you and had no idea what your name was, and he so desperately want to know.
"What's your name?" He asked you, but before you could answer, warrior cries could be heard from below. All of a sudden, a bolo rope was thrown at Jake and he stumbled, making him trip and fall off the tree.
"Shit!" He exclaimed, feeling himself rather harshly onto the ground. From above, Y/n saw him fall and immediately came to his aid, descending from the tree as fast as she could. The fact that she already knew what this was about, worried her.
