Maemi was a very happy little girl, cheerful and sweet. She adapted to her surroundings quite easily and that is the way it was for a long time. She is extremely brave and adventurous. She is afraid of nothing, and it is something that her mother has always taught her. She is able to manipulate others to get what she wants as a kunoichi. She knows how to shut off her emotions and how to manage them to an extent. She is not a huge fan of being told what to do or when. No one can tell her that, she can handle herself just fine. She is used to being independent.

Maemi is unfortunately the third last child that the chief has, he is so kind to have a cut-off at nineteen children. The chief was very disappointed when he saw he had yet another girl, someone he could consider useless. Though her mother was no ordinary woman, she was a shinobi herself and the chief's side chick. However, it ended swiftly when Maemi was born. Her mother was left to raise her alone, so that's what she did. At a young age, Jun showed Maemi the ways of a kunoichi. So as a little girl, she learned how to fight and defend herself. At the age of thirteen, her father caught wind of the things that Maemi had been doing as his daughter..the chief took matters into his own hands.

The chief ended up assigning Shinobi's to take out Jun once in for all, prompting him to rip Maemi from her home and into his. It was no easy task, Maemi made life incredibly difficult and she hit a breaking point at that age losing her mother like this. She had this strong hatred towards her father that was hard to ignore. She made everything he did hard, and he did everything possible to shut down her attempts of being a shinobi, her one job in his eyes was to be a housewife.

Maemi was introduced to Gabimaru, though the two were the opposites. She was being forced to marry him, as he was being forced to marry her. She unfortunately did as told, not having anything else she could fight against.

‣ Maemi has an immense love for Gabimaru and she would do anything to protect him from her father's rage.

It seems like people tend to forget that she is a trained and skilled kunoichi, people did not notice she was gone for a while. She follows the trail of where Gabimaru was taken to the cursed island all on her own, poor girl.

‣ Gabimaru was the only person that made her feel whole again after the murder of her mother. He was also the only person she was willing to live an actual normal life with.
