Cadence is the AU-ish OC Daughter of Doctor/Neurosurgeon Stephanie Edwards and Patient/Hot Guy Kyle Diaz.

... She dated Kyle for a while after he was released as a patient there but ultimately broke up with him in the end because she couldn't stand what happened. She couldn't stand to be on the sideline for surgery. All her life was a sideline, she was the sick kid. Well no more. She broke up with Kyle over a note, it wasn't the smartest idea but it worked. ... For a while that is.

She loved him and wanted to be with him and then everything went to hell). Kyle had a brain bleed and died, it wasn't caused by the Ventricular washout that Amelia did. He also developed a second tremor in his right hand . ...Steph was watching in the Gallery when it happened. "Get her out of here, Wilson". Amelia softly said. Jo ran and ran but it was too late. ... "Time of Death". Amelia Shepherd's words flowed from her lips. ...

... •Cadence and on: Steph dropped to her knees and cried and cried. And after she just simply stopped. She blocked out everyone for weeks, Amelia, Jo, Meredith Grey, ... basically anyone that had talked to her. "Work only"... she said. ... But her fears came to worse after a couple of weeks when she got sick. Steph never got sick at work. "It can't be, can it?". She asked herself. ... "No".  She shook it off. .., but a week later she passed out in the women's bathroom and Jo had found her and paged Shepherd (Amelia). "What's wrong with her?". Jo asked. "I'll order a Head CT". Amelia replied. "Don't worry Wilson, I've got her".... Amelia later did an ultrasound after a General Surgeon had signed off that she was conscious. ... "Oh my god". Amelia replied. "What... what is it Dr. Shepherd?". Steph asked. "Edwards... you're pregnant!". ... "I'm what???". Stephanie Edwards replied. "No... this is not happening to me". "Me of all people". "Well, do you know who's it is?". ... "Yeah... I"... Steph's voice trailed off. She then got out off the exam table. "I gotta go". ... "Edwards wait". Amelia Shepherd said. .... but Steph had already ran off an into an on call room and locked the door. She stayed in there for what seemed like 20 minutes and cried. No one heard her or anything but when she came out, you could tell she had been crying.

... "Are you okay?". Jo Wilson had asked her. "No, Jo. I'm not". She whispered in Jo's ear. "You remember a few weeks ago whenever Kyle died and before his surgery you came in his room". She sighed. "Yeah, what about it Steph?". Jo asked. "Dr. Shepherd just told me I'm pregnant?". "Oh my god". Jo replied. "It's Kyle's,.. but I can't tell her that, can I?". Steph asked.

Kyle's Nicknames: Guitar Hero. Hot Rock Star. He was 34 at the time of his DBS. He was pronounced dead at 15:23. ("At Last").
