Morpheus was siting on a white, wooden bench in St. James' park. Resting his gaze on the ground. His bows srunched downwards. Lips pursed together. A moping expression fixed on his face. As he absence mindly fed the birds, that were crowded around his feet. His movements were robotic. Hand ripping bits off a French stick before throwing them on the ground. He felt miserable. He had recovered his tools, he was the most powerful he'd been in centuries. He had a true quest. A purpose beyond his funtion Yet, he felt unforfilled. And lonely. He had grown to miss witty remarks, sharp comebacks and cheeky words. He found himself looking around his surround whenever the wind picked up. Hoping that the hybrid had choosen to return. She never did.

"Heads up!" Machanicly, his arm shot up, hand stopping the ball from hitting him in the face, never lifting his gaze "Sorry, man. Nice catch, though." The Endless' scrowl deepened, shifting his hand for the mortal to take the ball "Thank you."

His head bowed once more, eyes clouding over in thought. The Mikaelson's parting words echoing in the back of his head. A curly haired, deep chocolate skinned, smiling woman sat down beside him. Obsevering his movements before questioning "What are you doin'?"

"I'm feeding the pigeons."

Death nodded, smile never leaving her face as she glanced around, before arching an amused eyebrow at her brother "'You do that too much, you know what you get?'" Morpheus shook his head, emotionlessly "'Fat pigeons.'" She beamed, however her attempt to cheer him up failed, he contiuned to stare at the ground "That's from Mary Poppins. Did you ever see it?"

He half shook his head "No."

Death smiled whilst Dream glared after the child that ran past them, spooking the birds. Death turned to her brother, who's glare fell back into a scrowl, as he dropped his head. She sighed, her brother was impossible "Okay, so what's the matter?"

"What do you mean?" He fired back numbly.

"I can tell something's wrong. I mean look at you." She cried "Sittin' here, moping, pigeon-feeding. It's not like you."

He raised his head, keeping his gaze lowered as he let out "No. Perhaps it isn't." He turned his head to his sister slightly, eyes staring aimlessly into the park, racking his mind "I don't know what wrong, but..." he admited, expression loosening "you're right. Something is the matter."

Death shifted on her seat, getting more comfortable, her attention solely on her brother. Watching his brows scrunch up.

"When they captured me, I just had one thought." He recalled it all, the first year of his imprisonment, the second when he gained an inmate. It seemed like yesturday the more he thought about it. "Vengeance. And then..." Death tilted her head, she too knew of her brother's prison mate and her mysterious family. However, it seem her brother had grown attached to the infamous original "...it wasn't as satisfying as I expected. Meanwhile, my kingdom had fallen apart. My tools long since stolen and scattered. And so we embarked upon a journey to find them. Which we did." His eyes flickered up, gaze forming a determind glare "I'm now more powerful than I have been in eons. And yet..."

"Here you are, feeding the pigeons." She smiled sheepishly, leaning forward, resting her elbows on her thighs.

"You see, until then, I'd had a true quest. A purpose beyond my function and then suddenly, it was over, and...I felt disappointed. Let down. Empty." He faced his sister, desperately "Does that make sense?" He shifted his gaze "I was so sure that once I got everything back, I'd feel good. But in some ways I feel worse than when I started. I feel like...Nothing." he trailed off, glancing at Death, his moping coming back "There. You asked."

Death placed a hand on his knee. Causing him to look at her. She sent a look "You could have called me, you know."

Dream slightly raised his brows "I didn't want to worry you."

Death dropped her hand, sighing tempestuously, turning her head to look at him with disbelif "Oh, I don't believe it. Let me tell you something, Dream." she got to her feet, pulling the French stick from his grasp as he looked up at her "And I'm gonna to say this once, so you better pay attention." He stared stoic as she told him off "You are utterly the stupidest, most self-centered, pathetic excuse for an anthropomorphic personification on this or any other plane." His brows lifted, back bent backwards, silently offended. However, he had a feeling Darcy would laughing her head off, agreeing with his sister, if she were there "Feeling sorry for yourself because your little game is over and you haven't the balls to go out and find a new one. You're as bad as Desire. No, worse." Dream barely catched the bread, as it hit him the chest, yes the hybrid would have definitely have mocked him for that "Did it ever occur you that I would be worried about you?"

"I didn't think-"

"Exactly." Death nodded "You didn't think."

The siblings shared a look. Dream didn't answer, eyes shifting to the ball flying in their direction. Death caught it, exactly like he had previously "He's not my friend. He's my brother. And he's an idiot."

"I'm just feeding the birds." He twirled bread in his hands, lowering his head as Death smiled, holding out her arms "Look, I can't stay here all day. I've got work to do. You can come with me if you want, or you can stay here and sulk."

"I'll come with you, I surpose."

"Well, don't do me any favours." She beamed, tilting her head. He looked up at her before slowly standing. Leaving the bread behind.

A pair of women walked down one of the numerous pathways in Bristol. To the naked eye. They were seemingly normal, mortal, another face in the crowd. But in truth. They were vampires. The legendary Katherine Pierce - formally Katerina Petrova - the surviver and Darcy Mikaelson. An Original Hybrid - the Lonely God. Despite the Mikaelson's warnings, Katherine had sort out her old friend with interesting information to tell her. However, she was quite surprised to find that her friend had detached herself from the mysterious raven haired gentleman, - whom she'd quickly noticed slightly resembled her old flame; Damon Salvatore. When she voiced her obersations. Darcy had merely excused that her depature was because Morpheus had taken back his tools and that, his and her causes were no longer alined. Katherine raised her brows, sending a pointed look "You're lying to yourself. And you know it. You care about him."

Darcy half-rolled her eyes, hands buried in her pockets, the Endless had plaguing her mind ever since she left him and she caught herself wanting to go back, but she dismissed the idea again and again "I was trapped alone with Dre-Morpheus for a hundred years. It was ineffable that I came to care for him."

"You care, care for him." The curly haired doppelganger corrected "The kind of care that puts him on Klaus' wanted list. I mean right at the top. Kol's too."

"Above you?! Never.' Darcy chuckled bittersweet, smirking slightly before taking a deep breath "May I remind you what happened to my past lovers?"

"That didn't stop you from taking those two. So, what's stopping from loving Mr Tall-dark-and-handsome?" Katherine questioned, looking at her friend who shook her head lightly.

"Why did you really come back, Katherine?"

"I came back because he's finally done it."

Darcy halted sharply. Making her do the same. The hybrid's eyes were wide "Kol?"

"All of them." Katherine revealed "You can thank Damon Salvatore and Elijah if we're being exact."

"Where are they?" Darcy demanded lightly.

Katherine smirked "Mystic Falls."

_________

Death and Dream walked side by side. Death beamed once her eyes landed on the crates of apples "Look!" She exclamed happily. Dream looked at his sister, turning to stop as she looked over the fruit "Yum! Okay, two, please."

"None for me," he stated sharply, making his sister's head turn "thank you."

"They're good for you."

"I'm not hungry."

"You can just have it later." Death shook her head, Dream glared lightly causing her to sigh, turning back to the stall keeper "Just one, thanks." The keeper gifted it to her, she took a bit, turning to her brother as Death pointed at her apple "That is delicious. What?"

The siblings walked on, Dream slightly in the lead. He sighed slyly, wondering where a certain hybrid was and what she was doing "You are good with them."

"Apples?" Death questioned slightly thrown.

"Humans."

"Mmm." She offered the apple "Bite?"

Dream turned his head, looking at her "No, thank you."

"Have you seen any of the others since you've been back?"

"Have you?" Dream questioned, brows furrowed at his sister.

"Mmm...We did have one family dinner when you were away." She shook her forefinger in thought, she glanced at her feet as he looked on ahead "The twins were in high spirts. Mm, Desire was, anyway."

"With me gone, I have no doubt."

"I don't know. I think Desire missed having their usual sparring partner across the dinner table."

Dream looked down, remembering another similarity between his family and the original one, he turned his head "Any word of the prodigal?"

Death shook her head "No. Still missing." She looked at her brother, who seemed even more downcast, she purposely bumped into him "You were both missed." She took a few double takes before remarking "'How are you, sis?' 'How have you been keeping?' Aw. I'm well, Dream. Thanks for asking."

Dream beamed, swerving and bowing his head "How are you, my sister?" He lifted his head, amusent swirling in his eyes "How have you been keeping?"

Death hooked her hand around his arm, pulling him closer, silently afraid that her brother would disappear "I'm worried about my brother. And I'm enjoying this apple." He looked back ahead as she stared wonderous "I'm also curious of this friend of yours, I've heard so much about." Dream chuckled, sublte blush littering his cheeks at the thought of his...friend "Fancy you getting mixed up with one of the famous originals."

"How long have you known about them?" He questioned curiously, looking at his smiling sister "The Mikaelsons?"

"Not long. Just since..." she trailed off, she narrowed her eyes, burning a hole into the side of his face "Well, what's the lonely god really like?"

Dream blinked, thinking over the time he'd shared with the hybrid "Darcy is...loyal, very loyal. Brave. Strong. Indifferent too many I have known. She seems older than us," Death listened intently, noticing the admration on her brother's face "because of her experiences. And her eyes. So...ancient yet endescriable. She is fierce when it comes to defending and protecting those she loves, and in her anger."

"And her siblings," she questioned "Finn..."

"Elijah, Niklaus, Kol and Rebekah."

"Honestly, my sister." Dream breathed, meeting her gaze breifly "I assumed our siblings were bad. From what I've been told, Darcy's are worse."

_________

Darcy stared at the mansion that screamed her brother's hand all over, hopeful. Her heart drumed in her chest at the possbility as something else inside her beg for her to leave. She sighed, blinking as she turned her head to her left. Expecting to see Morpheus beside her. However, she was met with reality. She had left and was in this realm, whilst he was in The Dreaming. Her heart clenched. She turned her head, eyes locking on the grand building. Pushing all those feelings and thoughts aside. She crept inside the house, closing the door as she took in the giantic hall. A grand, curling, twin set of stairs leading to the upper floor put the entire room to shame. It was all undoubtly Klaus' design. She tore her eyes away, hand lifting from the door knob, taking an odd step as she looked around curious.

"NIKLAUS!" She called out, upstairs the very dirty blonde's head shot up, eyes wide. Darcy lowered her head, eyes narrowing as the silence stayed. Only for bounding footsteps to break it. Upstairs, Klaus came out of his office only to be pushed into the wall by his little brother. Who half flew, half ran and half bounced past him at vampire speed. He righted himself before following his brother. Darcy shrieked as she found herself on the floor, a foreign pair of arms around her, she blinked serveal times before focusing on a widely grinning Kol "SISTER!"

"Kol." She beamed, caressing his cheek, Kol leaned in to his sister's touch before pulling her to her feet only to trap her in a bone crushing hug again.

"I heard what you did to the compound. Good one, sister." He praised as they pulled apart, Darcy grinned.

"Yes, quite a mess you left behind sister." The duo looked to find Klaus stood behind Kol, with his useual scrowl as Rebekah and Elijah quickly moved to join the trio.

"Yeah?" Darcy arched her head, a stoic look on her face as Kol shifted on his feet, ready to protect his big sister even though she could handle her own "What you are going to do about that, little brother?"

Klaus' scrowl fell, a guilty look in his eyes, a pouting expression on his face. He looked like a kicked puppy. He bowed his head, upper lip disappearing under his lower one. He dared to look at his sister "Stay. Please."

"I second that." Kol agreed instantly, nodding his head before joining the younger hybrid in pouting. Darcy sighed, a grin on her face before she raised her arms - she knew this was just the calm before the storm but there was nothing wrong by taking advantage of the fact - both Kol and Klaus sped to their sister's arms, buried their chins - nose in Kol's case - into the crook of her neck and shoulder.

"Sister."

The three pulled apart to face a gob-smacked Elijah and Rebekah. Darcy raised her head, stoic in her movements. Rebekah sped to her, rapping arms around her body. Darcy rubbed her back as Kol burned invisible holes into it. The sisters pulled apart. The dirty blonde slowly made her way to Elijah, who bowed his head ashamed of himself. He had not tried hard enough to find her, not like Klaus. Darcy placed her hand on his cheek, making him look at her before embracing her. She sent a small smile at him after they pulled apart. She withdrew, turning to look over them all, as they kept their eyes peeled on her. Curious. Of what she'd do, where she had been.

"Darcy?" A voice cracked.

The eldest Mikaelson sister turned to find her elder sibling bewildered. The oldest of the siblings stared at his sister with wide eyes, not fully believing that she was there. Darcy smiled brightly "Finn."

Tears welled up in Finn's eyes, he sped from the stairs and stopping only to hug his sister, not letting go. Darcy hugged him back, resting her chin on his shoulder. Kol joined in, sandwiching her between him and Finn. Klaus and Rebekah joined in too. Elijah smiled at his siblings, the one thing that ever stopped them from bickering was and had always been Darcy. Darcy's smile fell ever so slightly, Dream flashed past her orbs. She didn't notice Elijah's frown, as the Endless slithered into her attention.

_________

"I thought he was sweet. Didn't you?"

"Sweet? I don't know." Dream said, as they walked along a bridge, heading towards Death's next appointment. He wondered where the very Mikaelson they'd been discussing was, whether she was happy or not "Perhaps. My sister..."

"Yeah?"

"When I was captured, it wasn't me they were looking for." The pair faced each other "It was you."

They slowled, halting as Death looked at her brother with sympathy, lightly nodding with a sad smile "Yeah, I know." Dream stared at her smile with disbelief and hurt, he now understood Darcy and Kol's hated views of their siblings. Betray ran deep with their family, as it slithered into his.

Death rapped an arm around his shoulder causing him to frown "What are you doing?" He questioned, observing as she undid the laces of her shoes.

"I'm taking my shoes off. It's good to the earth with your bare feet." She took off her socks too before beaming at her bewildered brother "It's grounding. Come on, I don't want to miss the next one."

_________

After the tearful reunion, Darcy was bewildered and put off by the fact that their mother was alive. And with the fact that she forgave all of them. Especially her and Niklaus, for what they had done. Klaus showed her to the room, and been trying to get back in her good graces whilst Kol and - surpising - Finn stuck to her like glue. Soon dusk drew to a start. Darcy and Kol were in her room.

"A ball?" Darcy questioned, with a perplexed expression "Really?"

"Yeah, it was mother's idea. To show we mean no ill will to the town." Kol rolled his eyes "You know what's worse? We're not allowed to kill anyone."

She chuckled, smiling slightly "I'm quite sure you'll find a way to cause trouble, brother."

"As you wish, sister." He smirked widely as she chuckled, his smirk dropped when he saw his sister's eyes flicker for a second, like a ghost dancing past "What's wrong?"

"Nothing, brother." Darcy smiled, eyes brightening, Kol narrowed his own, his sister was upset, he was going to find out why, and if Klaus had anything to do with it he was a dead man walking "Come, we should prepare for this silly dance. They'll be arriving soon enough."

Kol pouted, slowly plucking himself off his sister's bed "Very well, sister." He kissed her head before leaving. He met Klaus in the hallway, he glared "What have you done now?"

"What are you on about, Kol?" Klaus whispered back puzzled.

"Our sister is upset. Yet I and Finn, are undaggered." Kol narrowed his eyes "Which leaves me with the suspicion that you, Elijah or Bexs have done something. So, care to explain."

Klaus stared at him with furrowed eyebrows, but he was now presently equally concerned, perhaps Kol was wrong "I haven't done anything, I swear."

Kol scrowled "We'll see."

Klaus watched puzzled as Kol pushed past him, storming off towards his room. Before knocking on his sister's door and entering, Darcy tilted her head at him as he place a paper bag on her bed. She cautious opened it, and gaspped lowly at the glamerous black and gold dress she pulled out.

"Nik."

Klaus smiled, revealing a pair of heels from behind his back "That's not all. I hope you are pleased sister."

Darcy held his gaze, placing the dress down before turning to stand before him. Klaus noted the slight unhappiness about her, Kol was right afterall. Darcy smiled "Niklaus, I accept and appreciate you're trying."

"I just want you to be happy sister." He whispered, pouting.

Darcy smiled loosely, caressening his cheek "Thank you, Nik."

Klaus smiled at his sister "I'll let you have some peace, Darc." She smiled, keeping his gaze as he slowly went to the door only to halt, he shot a curious look "Sister," he asked slowly "were you really trapped with the devil?"

Darcy shared a long look with her brother "I was trapped with someone. However, he was not the devil."

Klaus narrowed his eyes briefly, before deciding to drop it "Very well, sister."

_________

Death and Dream found their way back in St. James' park. Death recanted her experiances, and was remind her brother of what he'd forgotten. They talked, about the Mikaelsons, the supernatural community that was so new to them, and of Hob Gadling.

"Lots of people don't have a job, they love doing, do they?" Death questioned as they came into the open area "So, I think I'm really lucky. Listen, I've got to head back soon."

Dream looked at her, pulling away and turning to stand before his sister, taking her hands in his, he smiled "You've taught me something I had forgotton. I thank you, my sister."

"Aw." Death beamed, happy to see her brother happy once more "That's what family's about, little brother. One last appointment, then I have to go."

"I, too, am late for an appointment."

Death smiled, tilting her head "Maybe you should pay another one, to someone else." She grinned at the slight blush on Dream's cheeks, she couldn't wait to meet the original who'd knocked her brother off his feet "Tell him I said hello. And tell Darcy, I can't wait to meet her. I have to go."

Dream smiled solemnly, withdrawing from her and walking away. He stuck his hands in his pockets, mind wandering to the original hybrid. Perhaps his sister was right.

"See ya, Dream." He turned his head to his sister, who waved, smiling "Don't be a stranger, okay?"

_________

The eldest Mikaelson sister was shocked by how many people had came to her mother's ball. She had conversed with a few, swiftly walking in and out of discussion with people. She was surrounded by her siblings and yet, she felt totally alone. Kol made it barable, he did. However her feeling remained the same. Finn was glued to their mother like normal. She found herself wondering, observing. Mostly stuck in her head. She halted in her rounds, eyes catching Kol with the mayour and a commoner. She waited until he left before approaching.

"Please, forgive my brother." Damon turned his attention to a dirty blonde woman in a black tight-fitting dress, gold jewelles crowned the shoulders and neck, above a deep v-cut under three thin strips of fabric. She was beautiful. And seemed to resemble Klaus a great deal "He always forgets his manners."

Damon smirked "No worries, my brother's quite the same."

Darcy chuckled, smirking slightly but it stung her to look at him, the young vampire happened to resemble Morpheus slightly but it wasn't the same. It was not him. She narrowed her eyes "I believe I have you to thank, for the undaggering of my siblings, Mr Salvatore."

"My pleasure..." he raised his brows.

"Darcy Mikaelson." She smirked, his eyes widened 'Niklaus has one sister who he's fully related to. He is not the only hybrid' Elijah's voiced echoed in his head "Excuse me." She withdrew, walking on.

The evening seemed to drag, until it was time for the Original Family to gather on the stairs. Darcy stood on Kol's left, on the very top, head held high, looking down upon the crowd as Elijah spoke. She scanned the area of the room, eyes halting on the doors as they opened. Elijah's voice seemed to vanish as Morpheus crept in.

_________

Morpheus' gaze locked on Darcy instantly, his lower lip dropped as his eyes broadened. The Mikaelson looked like an empress in his eyes. The Endless and hybrid shared a long look, eyes never straying, he walked forward. The siblings - bar Darcy - looked at their mother as she joined them. Esther smiled at her children, before turning to the crowd, her smile flickered for a second. Once she spot the King of Dreams, she was aware of her eldest daughter's imprisonment with him, and she even pited her. However, she never anticipated the Endless would sort out her daughter, of his own accord.

Kol shifted his gaze to his sister, smiling. Only to frown when he found her looking away from him. Turning his head, following her direction of sight, his eyes landed on a tall, raven haired man - who stuck out like a red thumb. He wore no kind of tux or suit, almost as if he had no idea of their ball. Darcy and Morpheus were too focused on one another to see that Kol was just the first original sibling to notice the Endless.

"Tonight's pick is," Elijah's voice slowly crept back ''a centuries-old waltz," Klaus narrowed his eyes at the newcomer, wondering what he doing in his house and who he was. He furrowed a brow before following the stranger's line of sight, to find his older sister's eyes fixed on him. Klaus turned his head, a scrowl forming on his face "so if all you could please find yourselves a partner. Please join us in the ballroom."

Morpheus halted, eyes never leaving Darcy's, as both she and her siblings slowly made their way down the staircase. He eagerly observed as she gracefully walked, hoping she'd come towards him. And she almost did. However, a brunette - one of her brother's - in front of her, offered his hand. She met his eyes, before her gaze flickered back to her brother, who bowed slightly. The Endless assumed he was pouting. Darcy sent a apologetic look his way, before going in the direction of the ballroom. He followed the pair, disappointedly.

"And who might you be then?"

The Endless' head spun, eyes landing on a blonde, her head was tilted upwards, eyes slightly narrowed as curiosity shined in them "I.." his eyes widened, it clicked with him, the blonde was nearly as she'd been described "Rebekah..."

Rebekah's eyes shifted, narrowing "Do I know you?"

"I...I have heard of you," Morpheus commented stoicly "from your sister."

Shock flashed over the original's face. Rebekah gave the Endless a look full of disbelief "You know my sister," she narrowed her eyes, becoming defensive "how?"

He blinked slowly, surprised that she was not aware of her own sister's imprisonment "We were held captive together. Your sister left, and..."

Rebekah stared with wonder, it all made sense. Kol's sudden anger. Klaus' accusing questions. Because their sister was upset. None of them had upset their sister, she just missed someone. Rebekah glanced at the left hand of the room, to see Klaus exiting with Caroline, she turned back to the stranger "Perhaps, I can help you find my big sister," she offered her hand, he instantly looked where Darcy had gone "er..."

He looked back to Rebekah "Very well."

_________

The party danced to Ed Sheeran's Give me love. It was cringeworthy choose in the eldest Mikaelson's opinion, however she had not listened to much music since her reintroducion to habitation. It either had Rebekah or Elijah written all over it. Darcy danced with Kol, for the first part. Small talk mostly existed between them. Although, Kol was waiting. Waiting for the moment to ask the identiy of the stranger who was eyeing his big sister. Alas, it never came, for they had to exchanged partners.

Give me love like never before,

Darcy turned, leaving her brother's grasp into another. Into a firm but light embrace, almost as if she were made of glass or float away like smoke. Her blue orbs met familar silver ones within seconds.

'Cause lately I've been craving more,

Morpheus focused solely on Darcy's face, ignoring - trying to ignore the electricity and warmth that spread outwards inside him as he kept a hand on her waist and held her hand.

And its been a while, but I still feel the same,

Darcy half blinked, eyes drowning in tearful, silver waters, as she gazed up at the Endless, her fingers grazed the back of his hand as she scanned Morpheus's face.

Maybe I should let you go, you know I'll fight my corner,

Rebekah smiled at the pair, happy that despite their diffences, she helped her sister feel better. Their brothers on the other hand, were burning holes into the Endless who - in there eyes - Kol and Klaus' mainly - was handling their sister.

And that night I'll call ya, after my blood is drowning in alcohol,

The Endless and Mikaelson seemed to stick out a great deal. Together they seemed to radiate a powerful arua. It didn't help, perhaps, that the ravenette's attire wasn't ideal for the ball.

No I just wanna hold ya. Give a little time to me, or burn this out,

The world seemed to slowly disappare as the duo danced. Eyes locked. Both sliently drinking and basking in the presence of the other.

We'll play hid and seek to turn this around, All I want is the taste that your lips allow,

"Why did you come here, Morpheus?" Darcy questioned at last, as he released her waist, breaking eye-contact only when he spun her around. She turned, graspping his hands.

My, my, my, my, oh give me love
My, my, my, my, oh give me love
My, my, my, my, oh give me love
My, my, my, my, oh give me love
My my, my, my, oh give me love

"I don't know." He admited, keeping his eyes solely on her, Darcy's lip dropped slightly. Not sure of what to say. The time to part came. Morpheus spun Darcy around once more, only to draw her back to him, sharply.

M-my my, m-my my, m-my my, give me love, lover, M-my my, m-my my, m-my my, give me love, lover, M-my my, m-my my, m-my my, give me love, lover, M-my my, m-my my, m-my my, give me love, lover

Darcy let out a low breath, before smiling up at him. Morpheus' lips twitched upwards, hand returning to her waist "You look beautiful, Darcy."

M-my my, m-my my, m-my my, give me love, lover, M-my my, m-my my, m-my my, give me love, lover
M-my my, m-my my, m-my my, give me love, lover,

She chuckled, eyes shining with amusment, replaying what he once said to her, not long ago "Coming from you, I'll take that as a compliment."

M-my my, m-my my, m-my my, give me love, lover (love me, love me, love me) M-my my, m-my my, m-my my, give me love, lover (give me love)M-my my, m-my my, m-my my, give me love, lover (give me love)

Morpheus grinned, chuckling causing her to do the same. Their laughter caught more than just Darcy's siblings' attention. Finn frowned at the stranger that his sister was beaming up to. Morpheus' eyes shined "I have missed you."

Darcy smiled, tilting her head slightly "Just you?"

"Matthew, and Lucienne too." He smiled down at her, not as I have.

M-my my, m-my my, m-my my, give me love, lover (give me love, love me) M-my my, m-my my, m-my my, give me love, lover (give me love)

Klaus blinked in shock. Katerina had told him the truth afterall. His sister had been trapped with a man for over a century. And when they were finally free. Darcy had choosen to stay with him over sorting out her own family. It stung him that after a thousand years, a stranger was making his sister happier than he'd ever been capable of. Or Kol, or Finn, Elijah or Rebekah.

My, my, my, my, oh give me love
My, my, my, my, oh give me love
My, my, my, my, oh give me love
My, my, my, my, oh give me love

Morpheus and Darcy bowed as the dance came to an end, however she took his arm. Gazes never parting, as they walked out of the ballroom.

_________

"Who might you be, mate?" Klaus glared harshly at the Endless, who stood unmoved, simply examing the dirty blonde man. Who had appeared seconds after Darcy had left to get a drink.

"I could ask the same of you." Morpheus stated.

"Oh," The dirty blonde chuckled, sporting a false smile "that's rich, you're in my house, mate. And your stench is familar." A hard glare fell on his face, he stepped forward, hissing lowly "Who are you? What are your intentions for my sister?"

"Klaus." Morpheus whispered in realisation, not effected by the younger hybrid's attempts to intimidate him. He stared with wide eyes, this was not what he was expecting. Klaus and Darcy looked almost like twins.

"You heard of me, fantastic." Niklaus smirked breifly, a hidden glare sliding in and out of show "Yet, I know nothing of you. How do you know my sister?"

The ravenette blinked unbothered by the hybrid's tone or glare. If it were anyone else they'd be terrifed or dead "I have heard of you, Niklaus." Klaus narrowed his eyes "Did you notice Darcy's disapparance? Did you search for her."

"Watch it mate." Klaus growled, squaring up to the King of Dreams "I can kill you before you can even blink. What do you know of that?"

Morpheus scrowled "Mind your tongue, Niklaus. I can make both your waking and sleeping hours a misery. When we were free, she believed you'd given up on her. Left her."

Klaus growled, vains popping out of his cheeks, he inched forwards only to be pulled back by a hand on his chest "Niklaus." Darcy warned, glowering at her brother, who scrowled opening his mouth to speak but she interupped him "You wished me to be happy, brother. I appreciate what you've given me. In return, I ask, that you leave him be."

"Darcy-"

"Enough." She growled.

Morpheus glanced between the pair, he knew their familes were different, he just didn't realise just how different they were. Klaus curled his lip before storming off "Forgive my brother, he is illmannered and rulely to everyone, most of the time."

Morpheus looked down at the original, as they linked arms, begining to walking around before Klaus decided to return "I had hoped I'd meet Kol first."

Darcy chuckled, smiling slightly causing him to peer at her curiously "I'll warn you, love. Kol has been know to be worse than Niklaus."

His lips twitched, raising a brow "You doubt me?"

"No." She held his gaze "I don't. You have two sisters. You know, first hand how protective brothers can be."

"Hm."

"Mine go as to far as to kill, ask questions later. With both me and Rebekah."

He blinked, examing her face "Why?"

Darcy blinked slowly, remembering all of the lectures Rebekah received from Klaus "Because 'no-one is worthy of either of our sisters,' in their minds." Morpheus tilted his head, taking it in. He wasn't afraid. He was Dream of the Endless and he was with...the woman he...

"My sister wishes to meet you," Morpheus revealed, making Darcy look at him "you know."

"Really?" She questioned, he met her eyes, nodding "Your family has heard of mine, afterall."

"Yes, it would seem so. Yet yours remain the dark."

"Perhaps, your sister would like my siblings. I can't see, which ones. Hell, she might hate us all. We're not exactly the nicest bunch."

"She'd like you." Dream informed, eyes searching hers "You both covert the older sister role very well." She tilted her head.

"Sister."

The duo turned. A brunette, smart-looking man smiled lightly at the female hybrid, who smiled lightly, greeting "Brother."

The group halt. Her brother narrowed his eyes at Morpheus, trying to work him out. Darcy eyed him carefully. She knew he wasn't as reckless as Kol or Klaus, but even he went to some lengths "I don't believe we've had the pleasure. I'm Elijah."

Morpheus kept his gaze conifidently "I am Lord Morpheus. Dream of the Endless."

Elijah blinked serveal times, glancing at his older sister for an exclamation but simply got an amused smirk. He mentally shook his head. Darcy could be just like Klaus at times. He sighed "Sister, if I may..." he glanced at the ravenette "speak freely."

A serious expression replaced her smirk, holding her head high gracefully "Whatever you have to say, Elijah. You can say it in front of him."

Elijah threw a cautious look at Morpheus before frowning at his sister, lowering his voice "Do you believe our mother really has forgiven you and Klaus?"

"No." Darcy shook her head "This ball, gathering us all together. She's up to something. Why, has she made a move against us, brother?"

"I don't know. But I'm worried." Elijah admitted "Our mother has arranged a meeting with Elena. I have confided in her, and she should hopefully tell me what mother is planning."

Darcy furrowed her brows, not knowing who this Elena was. She went to voice her questions but couldn't. Due to Rebekah storming up to them, she scrowled "Sister, tell Kol to leave my date alone."

"Pardon?-" Darcy barely got out, as the younger sister pulled her way from the Endless and dragged her off to scold Kol. Morpheus went to follow but halted in his steps when Elijah spoke once more. He stared with narrowed eyes "In all of the years of knowing my sister, she has never been as...comfortable with a lover. You care for my sister, correct?" He said it more like a statement.

"Yes." Morpheus confessed stoicly, eyes cautiously watching the original. He wasn't threatened. However he knew it would be foolish not to be on his guard.

Elijah opened his mouth, lifting his forefinger, holding it between them, stating calmly "If you step out of line with my sister, or upset her in anyway. I will kill you." He held his stare before walking round him, Morpheus turned his head, obsevering. Two originals left to meet. He wondered, would they react in a similar way the first three had?

_________

Despite Darcy's interventions, Kol carried out his desire to attempt to kill Rebekah's date. Although, his plan didn't follow it's intended course. He had ended up fighting Damon Salvatore. The Mikaelson and Endless were exploring the manison, merely enjoying each other's company when they heard the ruckus. They - along with the originals and the few supernaturals residents exited the house.

"Kol."

The pair froze in their movements. Kol's gaze shot to his sister, he bowed his head ashamed, at her scolding glare. Damon glanced between the sibings from the ground, he noted who meant so much to his opponent, he smirked.

Morpheus stood slightly behind Darcy, on her left. Kol peered at his sister, breifly scowling at how close the Endless was to her "Sister-"

"Damon don't!" Stefan warned.

But his shout fell on deaf ears. The elder Salvatore sped to attack Darcy. Who went to react. Kol reached out, going to grab the Salvatore. Finn moved to intervine, all of the siblings did. However, the Endless was quicker.

"Enough." Morpheus ordered. He stood between the hybrid and vampire. Damon halted, sporting a glare that nearly rivaled his.

"Who the hell do you think you are?" Damon sneered "Don't tell me you're one of them."

"You believe yourself so mighty." Morpheus spat stoicly, rage laced in his tone and eyes "You should know your place." He dipped his hand in his pocket "Damon Salvatore." He opened his fist, blowing sand into his face.

Damon fell to his knees, eyes clouded over with white, muttering and whining under his breath. His brother rushed to to him as the originals stared at the Endless shocked. Morpheus held his head high, taking one final glare at the Salvatore before turning. Darcy found his gaze easily, hooking an arm around his before they re-enetered the house.

_________

Darcy steered Morpheus to her chambers, wishing to shield him from her siblings. The Endless was stood looking over the design of the room when she reappeared, dressed in more causal clothes. She admired him, as he examied the titles of the books Klaus had left her.

"You defend me," he turned his head to her, startled, she narrowed her eyes softly "why? Because I'd kill to defend you, love?"

He stared, turning his body to the hybrid as she slowly appoached him "I defended you, because I'd kill to defend you, too." He admited.

The pair held a deep lengthly stare. In that moment they were aware. Something had and was existing between them. They were just too cautious and slightly afraid to admit. Yet.
