"Never underestimate your enemy." Kreese says walking onto the mat, "Even if you think they're weaker than you, you have to stay one step ahead of them. That's the only way to guarantee a victory. Is that understood?"

"Yes, Sensei." The students yell

"Good." He nods, "Now let's see if you truly understand the lesson. I want you to kick this tree off the top. Red, you start."

The student steps up and gets into his stance. As he kicks up, the fabric of his pants tears and he falls.

Kreese crosses his arms, "Pathetic. Rickenberger, show him."

Gianna watches as the teen pulls out a fancy move to kick the plant off, but ultimately fails. He whimpers as he hits the ground.

"Stop your sniveling." Kreese frowns as the teens gets back into his spot

"I can do it, Sensei." Gianna says. The students look over at her.

"Well, what're you waiting for?" Gianna uncrosses her arms and steps up to the plant. She eyes it as Kreese tilts his head, "Don't you want a running start?"

"Don't need one." She mumbles. She steps back and grunts as she kicks the post from under the plant sending it to the ground.

Kreese chuckles, "Not bad. Not bad at all."

"But she cheated." Rickenberger says as she steps back into her spot

"No, she didn't. Unlike you, she did exactly what I asked her to do. If your mind is agile, so are you. That's the best way to beat your enemy. Not just with brute strength. But you have to fight smart." He explains walking around the room. He then stops in front of Gianna, "Do that, and you'll always come out on top."

Gianna nods lightly before he walks away from her.

As Gianna sits at her table for lunch, someone steps up to her. She looks up and recognizes two students from Cobra Kai. Her brows raise, "Can I help you?"

"You know you can sit at the table with the rest of us right?" He says

"I'd rather not." She scoffs

"What? Are you too good for us or something?"

Gianna shrugs, "You said it not me."

The two boys look to each other as she looks down at her food. They look back down at her as she looks to them. She raises her brows at them and the boys roll their eyes before walking to their table.

Gianna looks up at the sound of a crash. The table across from her with some teens she knew, Demetri, Moon, and Yasmine, had a project sitting on the table that had just been destroyed. The teens look around before someone throws a ball back to Hawk, another teen that was in her dojo.

"Oh. Pfft..." He sighs, "I'm sorry, man. Looks like my ball just got away from me."

"That took me three weeks to build." Demetri says

"Eh, took my ball three seconds to destroy." He says walking away

"You see why I said to not join them?" Gianna hears. She looks over as Jasmine steps up beside her table.

Gianna scoffs, "God, Jasmine. I don't need you looking over my shoulder 24/7."

"Those are the people you choose to be around, Gianna." Jasmine says, "They're not good people."

"Why does it matter to you?" Gianna says standing up, "We're not friends anymore. What I do doesn't concern you."

"I still care about you." Jasmine tries, "I just want you on the right track."

"That is none of your business anymore." Gianna says, "Stay the hell away from me."

Gianna grabs her tray and storms off leaving Jasmine by the table.

Gianna sat in the library for her free period. Her work in front of her as she finally caught up on some work she had from the first two weeks that she missed. Someone sits down across from her making the girl look up.

Lucas smiles as Gianna lets out a deep breath, "Hey." Gianna stays silent and looks back down at her work, "I saw what happened in the cafeteria. Those are your new karate friends, right?"

"No." She mumbles

"Okay." He chuckles, "So, you don't want to be around me, but you'll be around them?"

"Lucas, I don't like you." She says, "I think getting someone sent to juvie is more than a valid reason to not want to be around them."

"You got yourself sent to juvie." He says leaning back in his seat, "You don't get to keep blaming me when you could've told me no."

"Tell you no so you can make me feel like shit for not doing it for you? Like you have multiple times."

Lucas clenches his jaw before sitting up. Gianna looks over at him as he leans on the table, "Are you forgetting how much I did for you? When no one else listened to you, who did? Hm?"

Gianna eyes bounce around his face as he stares back at her, "When nobody else was there for you, I was. You forgetting that?"

Gianna's eyes harden as she leans closer to him, "Thank you so much. Thanks for being there and landing me in juvie. Because that was exactly what I needed when I was going through shit. Thank you, Lucas."

Lucas's eyes follow her as she packs up her things and leaves the room.

The bell rings signaling the end of the school day. Gianna makes her way out of the school and begins to head home.

"Hey!"

Gianna turns as Hawk and a few other students from Cobra Kai approach her, "Yeah?"

"I saw you in the cafeteria. You know Jasmine?"

"Does it matter?"

"Is that why you're avoiding us?"

Gianna's brows furrow, "Avoiding you?"

"We offered you a spot at the table and you said you're too good to sit there. Is it because you have a soft spot for those pansies?"

"Look, I don't know what this whole thing is between you and those Miyagi-Do kids. I'm sure it has something to do with that Miguel guy, but leave me out of it. I'm just in Cobra Kai to keep myself out of trouble, alright?"

"Oh, that's right." Hawk smirks, "You're that girl that got busted for breaking into that house."

Gianna runs her tongue over her teeth as he chuckles, "Do you want a broken nose?"

"What like you'll do anything?" Hawk chuckles, "You must have some kind of probation or something, right?" Gianna lets out a deep sigh, "So you do."

Gianna turns on her heel and continues on as Hawk smirks. His friends laughing behind him, "See you around."
