She looked so beautiful. I was so lucky to have her in my life. She was sketching something in class. I looked over at her sketchbook. It was a design for her prom dress she's getting. I looked at her and she caught me.

"Is that another design for your dress, Terra?" I joked

"Maybe it is." Terra said with a smile "We are going to win cutest couple. Not Kori and Richard."

"I know."

"Mr. Logan! What is the square root of thirty-six times x?" The teacher snapped

"Uh.. three?"

"Wrong! Detention! And you Ms. Roth?"

Raven Roth was our resident badass. She stood up for herself. She called it out when teachers were favoritising. We hung out with the same group of friends but never really talked to each other. She wasn't exactly the most popular girl in school. In fact, she was the main reason our circle of friends, the Titans, was going as a group. I never understood why she was so ignored. She was beautiful, mysterious, and sexy.

What're you saying, Garfield? You have a loving girlfriend! Raven's not the one. Terra is.

"I don't know. Why don't you call on someone who actually raised their hand?" Raven said with her nose in a book

"Detention."

"Wow. Holding me in a room where I am forced to read, my favorite thing to do. I'm so upset."

The room shook with laughter and the teacher rolled her eyes at her. The bell rung and since math was our last class, we had to stay back for detention.

"I'm going to see another teacher. No talking!"

She left the room.

"So, Raven. How about prom?" I asked

"I don't think I'm going." She said

I was surprised "Why not?"

"I'm going to be the only one without a date."

"So?"

"Its embarrassing. It's one thing to have nobody interested in you, it's another to announce it to the entire world."

"That's true, I guess."

She kept reading her book silently. I tried to get her attention but she was focused on her story. Before I knew it, the fifteen minutes were over and we were exiting school. I said goodbye to Raven and turned the corner.

"Terra!?" I screamed. My girlfriend was in front of me making out with Wally West.

"Ah!" Terra screamed "Beast Boy! I swear, it's not what it looks like!"

I was furious "It looks like you're making out with one of my friends!" I ran home thinking about what we used to be.

Raven's POV (I never change POV wtf)

I got home from detention thanks to that stupid teacher. My father awaited me by the door and I knew I was in trouble.

"Good afternoon, father." I said while looking in his eyes. He hated it when I didn't make eye contact.

"Where were you?" His booming voice demanded

"I had detention. My math teacher called on me when I did not raise my hand."

He didn't like when teachers played favorites, even when they had the right to "I will make a call to the school."

I thanked the heavens that he didn't turn on me "Father, the high school prom is in three days."

"You are allowed to go. I have a business meeting"

"I did not want to attend anyhow."

He chuckled "That's my daughter."

"But, I have attractions towards a peer of mine."

"Who?"

"It is Garfield Logan, one of the Titans. He is intelligent and respectable and has decent strength."

"Is he attracted to you too?"

"I don't think so. He has a girlfriend."

"Rachel, fall for someone who you have a chance with."

"Alright, father.

Garfield's POV

There could be a reason for this. There could be an upside. I'm free to date Raven now. I looked her up in the school directory and called her cell phone.

"Pick up, pick up, pic-" Raven picked up the phone "Hey, Rae."

"Garfield?" Raven's velvety voice asked

"What's up?"

"Why are you calling me?"

"I need help."

"Then call Victor."

"He's not going to understand. I need help from a girl."

"Kori or Terra."

"I don't have Kori's number." Lies "And the problem is about Terra."

"Ugh. What's wrong?"

"Terra cheated on me with Wally."

"Then break up with her"

"I did! I'm heartbroken, Rae!"

"One: Don't call me Rae. Two: Just get over her. She cheated on you."

"Can you help me?"

"Help you do what?"

"Revenge. Can't you, like, pretend to go to prom with me to make her jealous?"

"Why?"

"Don't you know?"

"Know what?"

"Terra's, like, mega jealous of you. You're super pretty to her." Raven didn't respond "Raven? Raven?"

"Fine, I'll do it."

Raven's POV

"Father!" I called "Father!"

"Yes?" He yelled across our Victorian mansion

"Garfield invited me to the prom."

"Come up here, I can't hear you!"

I ran up the steps to get to his office. I stepped inside and stood in front of my father's desk.

"Garfield invited me to the prom. I request your approval."

"What about his girlfriend?"

"She didn't appreciate him. They are broken up."

"I must meet this Garfield."

"May I invite him for dinner?"

"Of course."

I texted Garfield to come over at six. He responded with a thumbs up emoji.

Six o'clock came quickly. I wore a loose, royal purple tank dress that covered collarbone with dark purple lace and paired it black ballet flats. The doorbell rung and I sprung to the door. Garfield wore faded gray boot cuts with a black tee and the classic black and white Chuck Taylor's.

"Hey, Raven." He smiled

"Come in." I welcomed and whispered "No slang, be respectful, always agree with my father."

My dad came downstairs and shook Garfield's hand.

"Welcome, Garfield. The chef prepared us a meal. Do you like steak?" My dad said

"I'm a vegetarian." Garfield said

"Then the chef will make you grilled tofu."

"You don't have to, I'll eat the rest."

My dad smiled, which was rare, at him "Thank you for saving him the trouble. Please, come into the dining room. Raven, please get the soda."

"Yes, father." I brought the soda and cups and set them down on the table. They were laughing at a joke Garfield made. My father questioned Garfield and he answered with all the right answers. He left in just an hour, which seemed more like a minute because we had a great time.

"Raven, I like that boy." My father said

"Yeah" I sighed "So do I."

"I give you permission to date him."

"Thank you, father." I called Garfield and he picked up not too late afterwards

"Garfield, we're in. What's the plan?"
