I woke up on to an unusually bright. Saturday morning. It was our anniversary. I asked her out a year ago.

Flashback

"Raven?" I asked as I knocked on her door "You there?"

Raven was in her room, she ignored my questions and kept crying. She was being insulted again at the park while reading. The girls said things like...

"You're so ugly."

"You're a freak"

"Wish we replaced you with some other superhero. Even Aquaman"

"You're never gonna get a boyfriend."

I was there the entire time. I didn't want to embarrass Raven by standing up for her, but I should've said something.

I knocked on her door again.

"Raven? Raven!"

I turned into a bull and rammed down her door. She stood in front of me using a blade to make cuts across her wrist.

"Go away!" She sobbed

I took the blade from her and cleaned the cuts in her bathroom. She hugged me afterwards and whispered the words "Thank you. I'm sorry."

"You don't need to be sorry." We were both thinking the same thing and leaned into each other to kiss. Her lips were salty from crying, but I didn't care because she was my crush for over a year now and I've been waiting for this moment for a while.

Our first date was to the Jump City Carnival. I won her another giant chicken, of course. We kissed at the top of the Ferris Wheel like a cheesy couple in a cheesy rom-com. I took her to get funnel cake and we had a serious conversation about her cutting herself. She promised to talk to me before taking drastic measures. The cuts on her wrists cleared up and she started wearing short sleeves again. I remember celebrating a month of clean wrists with her. We celebrate the little things, like a cheesy couple in a cheesy rom-com.

End of flashback

"Raven!" I happily yelled through her door with purple roses in his hand, like a cheesy couple in a cheesy rom-com.

She opened the door with a smile "Happy anniversary"

"Aw, I didn't get you anything."

I handed her the flowers "Happy anniversary, baby."

"You don't have to. May I come in?" Raven let me into her room and I sat in her bed

"Up." She instructed and I got up "I wanna tell you something. You don't need to say anything back."

"Okay?"

"First: thank you for saving me."

"Saving you?"

"I found out that where I was cutting was deadly. I was going to die if it weren't for you."

"I.. Uh."

"I'm not done yet. Beast Boy, I love you. I love everything to do with you. You helped me when I needed and I thank you with this. I love you."

I stared at her in disbelief "I love you too." We shared a passionate kiss and made eyes at each other like a cheesy couple in a cheesy rom-com.
