39. The Tough Choices
A week later, Jimin could not be happier, he showed off his huge diamond to everyone, literally everyone, even the bypassers on the street.
When he returned home and told Yoongi, the man picked him up and hugged him. He also cried and Jimin constantly made fun of him since then. He of course had to treat Yoongi, Hoseok, and Taemin to a lavish dinner.
From that day on, Jimin slept at Jungkook's place every night. The doctor had asked him to move in with him but Jimin did not want to leave Yoongi just yet. He felt that man was hiding his tears. He definitely felt that Yoongi was going to miss him infinitely.
Mrs. Jeon was flying to Korea today after she heard the news. She was certainly excited and wanted to help Jimin plan the wedding and help him in shopping. Jungkook was supposed to take his days off for a week so he could plan everything and set a wedding date.
As Jimin waited on the couch in Jungkook's living room, he panicked a little. This really was happening. While he knew Jungkook would take care of him to the ends of earth, he still felt a void of having no family with him.
His only sensible friend was Yoongi he could rely on while his other best friend was back in the US. By then, Jungkook got in and Jimin immediately flipped his frown into a happy face.
Jungkook kissed Jimin's lips as he came inside and hugged his man tightly, resting his head on Jimin's shoulders. "I missed you today."
"I miss you every moment. I cannot begin to start our journey together." Jimin caressed Jungkook's hair and kissed his cheek.
"Did you talk at work?" Jungkook pulled Jimin and sat him on the lap.
"They are willing to let me work in the US for three years." Jimin squealed the good news and the doctor smiled brightly.
"Oh, Jimin. You just resolved my biggest worry." He hugged Jimin and closed his eyes, feeling him breathe.
"What if I could not move?" Jimin asked while playing with Jungkook's shirt collar.
"Then I would cancel my work. I would not leave you to live alone for three weeks, let aside three years which is too long."
Jimin became silent for a minute and then pouted. "I will miss Yoongi."
"I know, but we will come to Korea for vacations and after three years, we will move back here baby. Moreover, you will have your other friend in the US to give you company."
"No, you don't understand. It's not about the company. I feel that he needs me too. He will be alone. I worry about that." Jimin got down from Jungkook's lap and sat on the carpet. He opened the file that was sent to him by the wedding planner.
Jungkook thought if he should tell Jimin about Yoongi because he knew for sure that the man would never tell Jimin, specially now that he was just a few days away from the wedding. After considerable thoughts, Jungkook cleared his throat. "Yoongi loves you."
"I know."
"No, I mean... He really loves you. He has feelings for you." Jungkook looked at Jimin and the man gazed up at his fiance.
"What?" He blinked and looked away, recollecting everything with Yoongi. The way he took care of him, carried his drunk ass home and cooked for him. He never hit Jimin when he actually kicked the hell out of Hoseok and Taemin. Jimin always irresponsibly took his car without asking his permission but Yoongi never denied him. From good days to the toughest ones, he was always there.
"I am such a bad friend." Jimin breathed in deeply and exhaled out slowly.
"You are not. You loved him in your own way and maybe he loved you because you were... You. Maybe he would not have had feelings for you if you were someone else." Jungkook assured Jimin and joined him on the floor.
"He always had my back, Jungkook. He deserved better. I never showed my gratitude towards him." Jimin's heart ached more for his friend.
"If I were not in your life... would you have ended up with Yoongi?" Jungkook asked hypothetically per se.
"Hmmm... I think so," Jimin nodded his head, "yes." Jimin looked straight into Jungkook's eyes. "Taehyung always told me that the one who loves you will keep you happier than the one who you love." Jungkook smiled and pecked his forehead.
"I love you a lot too, so you are not making a mistake." He jested.
Jimin punched his chest lightly. "I know that. Let's get ready to go and pick up your mom."
**
After picking up Mrs. Jeon from the airport and coming back home, they all had dinner together that Jimin had helped Jungkook prepare. Most of the time, Jungkook cooked for his now fiance. It was pretty late and Jimin wanted to go back so that Jungkook could spend some time with his mother alone but Jeons did not let him.
They sat in the living room. Mrs. Jeon was in a blanket while Jimin and Jungkook were in another blanket wrapped around their bodies as they went through the wedding planners.
"We have asked three event companies to send in their quotes." Jimin told his future mother-in-law as he pointed at the presentations and three planners sitting in front of them.
"Let's go through them one by one." Mrs. Jeon smiled.
Jimin rejected the first one. He wanted a very simple wedding on the lawn of Jungkook's house. He needed a simple backdrop and minimalistic decorations that would go during the daylight. He also wanted a band to play at their wedding that he loved for years.
After consideration of many inputs from Mrs. Jeon and Jungkook, Jimin finally agreed on one planner. "I think they understood me well. What do you say?" He asked Jungkook and looked at Mrs. Jeon.
"Honey, it's your wedding. You both should decide. I am only here to help you understand things." She smiled and yawned.
"I think you should sleep, Mrs. Jeon. We will wrap it up." Jimin requested the lady and she got up with her soft blanket.
"Don't stay up late. You both need your wedding glow so you have to take a good amount of sleep," she replied. "And how about you start practicing calling me mom?" She smiled at Jimin and went straight to the guest room.
Jimin looked back at Jungkook and held out his arms. Jungkook snuggled closer and hugged him. "Why is it so stressful, Jungkook?"
"Hey, don't think much. That's why we hired help so we don't have to do most of the work." Jungkook rubbed Jimin's back.
"Yeah, but we still have to tell them what we want. I am still not convinced with the floral arrangement here." Jimin said slowly.
Jungkook pulled back and held Jimin's face. "You don't have to give a go-ahead until you are sure," Jimin nodded. "Sweetie, I think if you decide the date, it will help more. You still haven't finalized it," Jungkook asked hesitantly.
Jimin has been avoiding setting the final date. The event companies also asked him but he only replied that he would like it in the month of August. Jimin looked away. "Are you getting cold feet? Are you re-thinking the decision, baby?" Asked Jungkook. He had been avoiding the talk but he had to know what was going on in Jimin's mind.
The younger gulped and shook his head as he pulled Jungkook's hands down. "I am not. It is just difficult to think that everything will change. I am scared. What if you stop loving me someday?" The younger spoke with his brimmed eyes and Jungkook cupped his face again.
"I am not planning to ever stop loving you. If this is any consolation, I love you more each passing minute and I don't know how is it possible even?" Jimin smiled at that and Jungkook wiped his tears before kissing his cheeks.
Jimin sighed in determination. "Okay, let's do it. Let's decide everything," Jungkook's heart skipped a beat and he also sighed in relief. He was afraid and if he was being honest, he would be afraid until Jimin would not be his lawfully wedded husband. "Let's also decide the finances. I don't want to spend too much on the wedding."
Jungkook smiled beautifully and held Jimin's hands. "Don't worry about finances at all. I want you to have the wedding of your dreams. Whatever you want."
"No... I can't only let you spend. I want to share it equally. I know you are rich but I also earn now and I want to contribute." Jimin insisted.
"Baby, consider the wedding as a wedding gift from me. Please let me do it. I won't ever stop you to spend the money you earn after that."
"No... I can't." Jimin shook his head.
Jungkook knew he would have to convince Jimin really hard but he was determined to do it. If not now, he would return the money that Jimin would spend later. He knew why Jimin might have been thinking like that but he definitely did not want Jimin's finances to take a blow when he had just started earning a decent amount. He wanted Jimin to be stable financially when he could support him.
