Mikayla sits on her bed biting her nails. After she got Jack's number from Jamie, she didn't even know where she was gonna go from there. It was just a moment of overconfidence. So, she slept on it thinking she would have a plan by the morning.

She didn't.

She was still absolutely nervous about texting him. When she came back in town, she didn't know what to expect. She didn't expect to see Jamie and Sienna and she definitely didn't expect to meet a cute boy her first weekend back.

She takes a deep breath as she picks her phone up again. Her thumbs tap at the side of her phone as she thinks about what to type. She then starts to type before she can psych herself out anymore.

Hi, this is Mikayla, Jamie and Sienna's friend from the water park. I know this is weird, but I got your number from Jamie because I thought you were really cool and was wondering if you'd want to hang out sometime. If not, then that's completely okay. Let me know :)

After she hits send, she throws her phone across her bed.

"Oh god." She mutters, "Was that too long?"

Her thoughts are interrupted by her phone going off. She immediately reaches for her phone, but reluctantly opens the text.

Hey, this is Jack. It's not weird at all. I was actually gonna ask Jamie for yours lol. I'd love to hang out anytime

Mikayla smiles as she sighs in relief.

"You know, I'm actually so glad that you're here for my annual revamp of my closet." Sienna says as she and Jamie walk through the mall.

"I can't believe you get a whole new wardrobe every single summer."

"Is that not normal?"

"No." Jamie chuckles as they walk into the store

"I don't get an all new wardrobe, I just replace the things I don't like anymore."

"Which is like everything."

"Yeah, yeah." Sienna says waving her off. She and Jamie stand in front of a rack of clothes with Sienna going through it. Jamie pulls her phone out as it buzzes.

"Who's that?"

"My cousin." Jamie sighs, "They've all been texting me about how bad my dad feels or how sad my grandma is that I left."

"Have you answered them?" Sienna says looking over quickly

"I have been, but no matter how many times I try to explain, they just say I should forgive him because he's my dad."

"Well, that's bullshit."

Jamie follows her as she rounds a table, "I know. It's like they want to guilt trip me."

"They are, trust me. I've done it to my parents multiple times."

"So, should I?"

"Uh, no." Sienna says in an almost obvious tone, "He left you alone for years, Jamie. They only don't want to understand that because it's his side of the family. Only forgive him when you actually have."

Jamie nods to herself as Sienna continues looking through clothes. As she looks back at her phone, another text comes in, but not from her dad. From Johnny.

Does Diaz like Olive Garden?

Jamie furrows her brows, "What?"

Sienna and Jamie had spent hours at the mall. Mostly shopping for Sienna, but she of course convinced Jamie to get a few things. So, now, Jamie was walking back into her apartment. Fully expecting to spend some time with Miguel, but instead was met with Johnny, Robby and Miguel standing together on a balcony.

"What's happening?" She calls out. All three look over to her and it was then that she noticed Robby, and Miguel with a few cuts and bruises, "Oh my god, your faces."

"Hey, Ms. Jackson." Johnny says

"Um, hi?" She says before looking to her boyfriend, "Miguel?"

"Everything's fine, Jamie." He chuckles, "We're all good."

Jamie's eyebrows raise, "So, this whole thing with you two-"

"It's over."

Jamie looks over to Robby who smiles at her. She looks back over to her boyfriend with a smile, "That's awesome, wow."

"And my mom's having a baby."

"What?" She exclaims

"I can't believe your mom and Sensei are having a kid." Jamie chuckles. She and Miguel laid together on her bed as something played on the tv.

"Yeah. It's crazy."

"How do you feel about it?" Jamie says sitting up

"I don't know, actually. I guess it hasn't exactly settled in yet."

Jamie nods, "I get it."

Miguel looks her over, "Are you okay?"

"Yeah." She smiles softly

"You know, you shouldn't lie to your boyfriend." He jokes, "It's like the number one rule in dating."

Jamie chuckles, "Using my own words against me."

"What's wrong?" He asks softly

"Um.." She starts, "Well, it's actually about my dad."

"Okay."

"My family is trying to make me forgive him. They're like making me feel bad about not talking to him."

"Are you ready to forgive him?"

"I don't know." She sighs, "I'm still hurt about what he did to me."

"If you're not ready to forgive him, then you don't have to. It's up to you, baby, not them."

"Do you think I ever will?"

Miguel takes her hand and gently pulls her toward him. She crawls over and straddles his lap, "I think that you're probably the most forgiving person I know. Eventually you'll forgive him, but it doesn't have to be now."

Jamie smiles down at him before she leans down and kisses him. His hand goes to her cheek to pull her closer. She pulls away slowly, but doesn't go far.

Her face softens as she looks in Miguel's eyes. She never thought that after everything that's happened, she'd actually be with Miguel. Being in love with someone like him has probably been the best thing that's ever happened to her.

"I love you." She says softly

"I love you too." He smiles before he pulls her in again
