"... and the only good thing about being here is I don't have to talk to anybody."

Jamie hears as she makes her way to her apartment. She turns and sees an older man that has lived here for years and a much younger boy around her age. She watches as the older man walks away leaving the boy standing in the parking lot.

"Okay, well... have a nice day I guess." The younger boy says as he furrows his brows.

"Don't take it to the heart." The boy turns in surprise, "He's like that to everyone. Very miserable."

"Oh." He smiles, "I'm Miguel, by the way. My family just moved here from Riverside."

"I'm Jamie. Welcome to The Valley."

"Thanks." He nods

Jamie sits in her bed against the headboard as her best friend, Sienna, lays across the end of it.

Jamie and Sienna have been best friends for years. Sienna being widely known across the Valley because of a business her father owns and Jamie hardly being known by anyone despite living there her entire life.

With being complete opposites, you'd think they would stay as far away as possible from each other, but they are quite frankly two peas in a pod. Where one goes, the other isn't far behind.

"Did you know that a new family moved in recently?" Jamie asks

"No, I don't know why you thought I would." Sienna scoffs as she turns on her stomach towards Jamie. Jamie rolls her eyes and she continues organizing things for school, "Why?" Sienna asks as she puts her head in her hand

"Just asking. I met a boy earlier and he said he just moved here." Jamie shrugs

"Oh my god, you met a boy?" Sienna gasps as she shoots up. Jamie stops to look at Sienna, "I'm just saying. You never talk about any guy ever."

"That's because all the guys at our school are repulsive."

"Not all, but most. Is he cute?"

"I don't know." Jamie says standing up

"Yes, you do. Tell me." Sienna says following her

"Sienna." Jamie groans

"Oh my god, he IS cute." She exclaims

"You're the most annoying person I've ever met in my entire life."

"You're gonna show me who he is at school tomorrow."

"No."

"Yes."

"No."

"Yes ma'am you are and I can't wait to play matchmaker." Sienna smiles widely as she sits on the bed. Jamie sighs as she goes through her closet rummaging through random things.
