Nothing had been the same. Ever since Miguel's accident, Jamie had felt like a shell of herself. Like she was looking down and watching herself live. Everyone else had gone on like nothing had happened. Like Miguel wasn't lying in the hospital in a coma fighting to wake up.
Jamie hadn't said much to anyone. When she got out of the hospital, she went straight home and hasn't been seen by anyone, but her mom and Sienna, since.
She occasionally went to the hospital to check on Miguel, but hadn't been in a couple of days. Every time she went, she would relive the whole thing. She would blame herself and apologize to Miguel over and over again despite knowing that he wouldn't respond.
She couldn't count the amount of times she'd cried herself to sleep or woke up with her heart racing from the nightmare she knew as the school fight.
Jamie dreaded the idea of going to school. It was the last thing she wanted to deal with right now. She sighed as she entered the school and set her bag on the table. The security guards quickly checked and handed it back to her before she walked off.
She looks at the stairs as she passes. Mind reeling as the memories replayed over and over. She looks up and sees Sam standing there breathing heavily. Sam looks at her as Demetri tries talking to her. Jamie's jaw clenches as she storms off. Sam walks out leaving Demetri confused.
Jamie makes it to her locker eventually. Unlocking it with ease as she's done hundreds of times before. As her backpack slides down her arms, she tenses. She hurries to grab it with her right arm as she looks at her left wrist. Sighing as she looks down at the black cast. She almost feels like it's mocking her as she rolls her eyes. She opens her bag and sets some things in her locker as she hears approaching foot steps.
"Hey, Jamie."
The girl exhales as she looks to Priscilla. She figured out that she was the girl she fought at the tournament and during the fight through nonstop messages and posts taunting Jamie.
"What?" Jamie snaps
"Just wanted to check on you. You seem a bit down in the dumps." Priscilla mocks. Her friends laughing behind her, "How's your wrist?"
"How's your nose?" Sienna says as she walks up beside Jamie, "I'm pretty sure she broke it, right?" She pouts
"It's fractured not broken." Priscilla scoffs. She rolls her eyes before she and her friends walk off. Jamie turns back to her locker.
Sienna smiles sympathetically, "Hey, JJ."
"Hey, Sienna." Jamie smiles weakly
"How you doing?"
"I'm fine." Sienna tilts her head as she looks at Jamie. The girl doesn't look back at her as she closes her locker. She throws her backpack back over her shoulder, "I'm fine."
Jamie looks past Sienna and sees Jack walking towards them.
"Hey, Jamie." He smiles
"Hey." She says softly before she walks away. Jack's smile falls as they watch her.
"Don't take it to heart. She hasn't really talked to anybody." Sienna says
"Is she doing okay?"
"Not really, but she won't admit it." She sighs, "Rightfully so, I mean, her wrist is broken and her ribs are bruised because of a fight she didn't even start."
Jack nods, "Last I heard, she was visiting Miguel in the hospital."
"Where did you hear that?" Sienna frowns
"I went to her house. To maybe talk to her. I failed, but I got to talk to her mom. She told me she's been back and forth to the hospital."
"Oh, well." She shrugs, "Miguel means a lot to her. She's just worried about him."
Sienna sends him a smile before she walks off. Jack sighs before he makes his way to his first class.

Sienna walked through the halls aimlessly. She told the teacher she had to use the restroom, but of course she was lying. She almost screams as she rounds the corner.
"Jesus, Eli, you scared the shit out of me." She says as she holds her chest
"It's Hawk."
"Okay." She chuckles. She goes to walk past him, but he grabs her arm. She looks down at his hand before looking back up. "Excuse you."
"Why hasn't Jamie been coming to class?"
"I don't know why don't you ask her yourself." She pulls her arm away
"I tried she hasn't texted me back. I haven't seen her since the fight."
"Yeah, it's not like one of her best friends didn't fall off of a balcony or anything." She says sarcastically
Hawk scoffs, "Just tell her to come to class."
"Tell her yourself." She says as she steps up to him. His facade starts to falter before she walks off leaving him in the hallway.

It was the next day and Jamie could feel school dragging on. She was barely paying attention as as she took notes when she felt her phone vibrate. She pulls it out and her heart almost stops as she reads the text from her Mom.
Carmen says Miguel is awake. Should be able to visit soon :)
