"Group six," Kim called out as she looked at the list in her hands. "Danielle and Krystian."

The Data Processing teacher had given everyone a one-week assignment on his subject and had decided to work as a pair. Danielle didn't mind the pairing since Krystian was intelligent and could be of great help.

"So, where should we meet?" Danielle asked Krystian as she packed her books into her bag. She wanted to get things done very quickly. "Your place or mine?"

"Yours is fine."

"Krystian!" It was Toyosi. Danielle noticed that and frowned. It had only been a few weeks since the new session began, and to her, Toyosi was flaunting that head girl position way more than necessary. She hated that she was only an assistant. What was she? Someone's secretary?

"Your address then, because I have to go." With a sigh, Danielle tore a piece of paper and wrote it down. "I'll come this evening," he noticed that she'd written her number as well. "I'll call you when coming."

Krystian had kept to his words. He called Danielle before leaving the house, and she'd informed her sister about the group's assignment, which she'd gotten approval for.

Krystian walked into Danielle's place, taking note of every interior deco. "No one's at home?"

"No, but I took permission to have you here." On the dining table were her laptop and textbooks to help with the assignment. "Krystian, let's start and finish on time." But when she turned, Krystian was engrossed with the pictures in the living room.

"I only know your elder sister from when she dropped you off at school," he said, pointing at a recent frame picture Danielle had taken with her sisters during the holiday. "Who's the other one?"

"That's Delphine," she answered, pulling a dining chair and sitting on it so she could focus on the task at hand. "My twin sister."

"What did you just call me?" I demanded it a second time. I wanted it to be my ears deceiving me from the stress I've been through so far, but instead, Krystian started whistling. It was an annoying sound that only heightened my frustration. "Can you stop that?"

"You can't tell me what to do."

"You know who I am." Krystian attempted to leave, but I angrily pulled him back, which was still a surprise on his path. He opened his mouth to probably talk about harassment, but I beat him to it. "How did you know? Who told you?"

"That's none of your business, is it?" I closed my eyes to breathe in and out in an attempt to control my rage. "I knew you came to this school for a reason; I just knew it. You're a fraud."

"I'm no fraud!"

"What did you come here to do? What do you want to achieve?" He folded his arms. "To put a problem where there's none? Your sister committed suicide; the case is closed. At this point, you should be praying for her to rest in peace."

"Can you. . . ." I wanted to ask him to shut up, but I held it back. "I don't know why I'm talking to you in the first place. You were the first to see her body at a place that wasn't any of your concern."

"I believe you watch a lot of movies with the whole Scooby Doo shenanigans you're displaying right now." He said this, waving his hands at my face. "But didn't those movies tell you that the most suspected are usually the innocent ones?"

"This is real life."

Krystian gave me a grim look before sighing and dipping his hands into his pockets. "Whatever you say, Enola Holmes."

"I'm not done with you," I said as he began walking away. "Krystian!" But he straight-up ignored me and disappeared into the building. I kicked the sand in anger, generating dust that made me cough a couple of times.

I was scared and devastated. He was the enemy, a murder suspect. How did he know about me? Was he stalking me? Now I was scared he was going to reveal my identity, destroying whatever chance I got of finding out the killer. I needed Seidi.

I reached for my phone and started scrolling through the apps as I strolled over to class. I needed to send her a message immediately. My head felt like it was about to explode. What if he reveals my identity? It would benefit him the most, right?

"Hey, hey, hey!" I got held by my upper arm before I could get to the door. It was Daniela. She had an anxious look on her face as she dragged me to a corner. I pocketed my phone and looked at her expectantly. I wish she could say whatever she wanted to say, so I could settle with the things going on with me at the moment. "Have you heard?"

"Clearly, I haven't." I felt irritated, but Daniela wasn't sensing it.

She leaned towards me to whisper. "It's Kim . . ." I stared at her so she could finish what she'd started. "She got scolded harshly by the class teacher in front of Toyosi and a few others."

"Why?"

"Cause," Daniela paused to look around, then continued. "She gave a false alarm. She told the class teacher that someone was using drugs in our class, and it turned out to be false."

"What?!" I was stunned out of comprehension. "She did what?!"

"Colour me speechless too. I think she still holds grudges over what Nosa did to Krystian. I think she likes Krystian and—" But I stormed out of her presence and into the class before she could finish her sentence.

Kim was seated like nothing had happened. On her desk was a long book, which she was thoroughly studying. I matched up to her and glared down.

"I need to speak to you." I ignored the way my classmates were looking at me because of how forced my voice came out. Kim looked up at me and closed the book she was looking at. She got up with a gulp and began heading to the door without my order. I glanced at the back to see Romeo's curious gaze but ignored it as I marched outside to meet Kim.

I looked at Kim with an evident frown, and she refused to meet my gaze. I wanted to laugh; this felt like a joke. "Why?"

Kim didn't say anything. I never expected her to. If there was something I'd observed, it was that the guilty once had little to nothing to say when defending themselves.

"Why?" I repeated, almost yelling this time. "I came to you so we could help him together, and all you had to do was rat him out? Why? To feel good about yourself."

"I just wanted to punish him a little," Kim said, wiping a tear that had just escaped her eyes. "He'd been nothing but mean to me, and I thought this was my chance. They didn't find anything, right? He's all good."

I scoffed, folding my hands. She was incredible. "You wanted to punish him a little? By getting him expelled?!" I couldn't control my rage and just had to let it burst. "Do you think getting him expelled would solve things? This is a great low, even for you, Kimberly Park."

I sidestepped her and walked back into the class without looking back. I didn't care if she was crying right now or if she'd gone to hide under a table. How many times would I be disappointed in one day? I sighed, placing my head on my desk.

"Delphine," I sighed, looking up to see Romeo. I looked away, hoping that would push him to go back to his seat, but instead, he sat at Kim's. "She did it right?"

"Did what?" I feigned ignorance, but the look he had, showed he couldn't be fooled. "You need no sympathy thrown at you."

"I didn't ask for your sympathy," he said, staring ahead. "But she did it, didn't she?"

"What do you want to do?" I turned to Romeo with genuine curiosity and said, "Yell at her? Insult her? She—"

"None of the above," he responded, cutting me off. "I don't care what she does and doesn't do."

"Romeo." I sighed, trying to stop him from getting up, but he did it regardless and went back to his seat. I turned to look at his next action, only to see him lay his head on his desk. No one knew he was the one in possession of the alleged drugs, aside from Kim and Krystian. Daniela thought Kim lied to put Nosa in trouble for what he did to Krystian, and if that was what she thought, then I guessed everyone was thinking the same way.

I looked at my front, trying to ignore Romeo's mood, only for my eyes to meet Krystian's. Chills went down my spine as I remembered he knew my identity; this wasn't good. I reached for my phone and decided to frantically send a message to Seidi. I ignored the message she'd sent to me because all it had to do was her squealing about the fact that I got invited to something while labelling the motive to the Elite as nothing, saying they couldn't take my sister's life because of such little things, and if they did 'cause of such little things, then they were psychopaths.

I saw my fingers drumming on my keyboard as I typed so fast.

I sent the message to her, hoping she'd respond immediately, but that was impossible. Knowing Seidi, she'd want to wait until Friday before going to the computer room. I looked over at Krystian's seat, but he wasn't looking my way. Instead, he was casually saying something to Hymn. Now I wasn't sure what to focus on. Hymn and his argument between my sister, or Krystian, and the fact that he knew I was Delphine, Delphine Udeme.

That's it for today's update. Sorry, I couldn't update yesterday. I was really busy. I'm not changing the updated schedule. It's still every Friday. I'll only try to update early like on Saturday, Sunday, Monday or Tuesday, if I ever miss a Friday update.

What do you think about this chapter in general? About Delphine and Kim's little argument? Do you miss longer chapters?

Don't forget to hit that star button, it will only take a second. Also, comment your thoughts on it.

Do you have a change in your favourite character? Or is your favourite character still the same?
