"I don't need it all, no matter how much I like you,"
- Hurt, New jeans
Friday, it came before it even began
Jaemin's eyes squinted in disgust, mouth threatening to pierce into a thin thread.
There were thousands of eyes on him like parasites digging deeper under their very skin.
No big deal.
No big deal.
The three words Jaemin intuitively chanted in his mind to calm his wrecked nerves.
"Such a shame, haven't I told you since the very beginning? Everything is bound to go my way,"
Sewon laughed out sarcastically, striding pass every guard who looked back at her, black orbs hiding all
fear.
"Haven't you heard of the saying... Justice will always be served" Jaemin gritted out.
Slowly and carefully, he tailed behind Sewon's back, making sure to keep at least a metre away from the psychopath.
In case she takes out a knife to stab his heart, to her, a plausible way for Jaemin to feel what a 'heartbreak' feels like.
Sewon abruptly stopped in her tracks, nearly causing
the stoned-face Jaemin to choked out oxygen.
"Admit it, you already know what's about to happen so let's not waste each other's time and get down to business " Sewon announced calmly, her high heels clicking loudly whilst circling Jaemin like a predator.
Jaemin took a step back, glaring at the nonchalant girl. Though he isn't sure if she was even human.
"Sewon, it's been three years. Three whole years. Aren't you tired of all this in your life?" The boy rambled out desperately, losing his act.
"Everything has bound to be an end and all I'm doing is to reach that end" Sewon uttered rather airily, shutting her eyes and shook her head disapprovingly.
Jaemin swore he was about to experience what it's like to be a caldera.
This wasn't the first time he had confronted Sewon after the incident regarding JinRin.
He did have guilty conscience and carrying out his plan literally killed him.
He was the one friend who hate, despises, loathes people who do things behind his back and having a big secret hidden.
Not given a choice, he has to be a hypocrite for the time being but not for long.
"Great reasoning but that almost caused a life"
"And so? Her life isn't my problem, I'm not in anyway related or close to her. It's her mother's fault or should I say, her supposed soulmate's fault" Sewon grinned sinisterly.
"Stop hurting those around me, they have never done anything to you,"
"Treat people with kindness not with atrocity"
Jaemin looked at her distastefully.
"You could say so yourself"
"Sewon. Love can't be forced out of, it must be earned."
Those words were like arrows which pierced through her, the wall she managed to built around her slowly crumbling into pieces.
"What do you mean! I didn't do it for you. That girl deserves to learn her placing in our world. She doesn't belong here like how you don't belong to her!"
From the corner of Jaemin's vision, he could see
the guards having their weapons out and based on their body language, they were on attack mode.
One guard took a step too far, the sharp edge of the knife laid unwarily close to Chaewon's throat.
"What's the cost for all this to end?"
The boy muttered out cautiously, taking note of all the happenings around him.
The nine guards in the meeting room, the positions Chaewon and Mrs Lee were in, his friends who were dragged into this mess, being lost out there with merely the instructions he had given to Jeno.
Sewon finally lost it.
"Jae... can't we be back to how we were"
The girl broke down, hands gripping tightly onto her velvet black dress, mind fighting with the devils inside of her.
"Like we were before..."
Sewon stuttered out every words as if it was her last.
"You were my first and last Jae- Please forgive me for everything I've done, I've swear it was all for the better. I'll do whatever you say !"
"I did it all for us, for you. Can't you see? Things is about to get better promise me" Sewon pleaded, scrunching up her blonde hair, ruining her once elegant look.
"Sewon. What are you even saying"
Jaemin was absolutely stunned by her sudden outpour of words. Her usage of words stunned him, making him second think all of the possible reasons why she was doing this in the first place.
"You said you get everything you want don't you?"
The boy took a step forward, closer to the crying Sewon. This alerted the guards who immediately got to action, aiming their knives and guns at Jaemin's head and chest.
And only to be shunned away by their commander, Sewon.
"And you'll do whatever I say?"
Jaemin continued angrily, feeling his adrenaline rushing through his veins as his mind cursing at him to grasp this opportunity to end everything.
"Isn't that document on the table the engagement letter? I'll sign it and we are done. Release my friends, Chaewon and Mrs Lee."
"And submit yourself to the authorities before it's too late"
Jaemin slammed his fists on the table, hoping it'll wake Sewon up from her daydream, in whatever world she think she's in.
"Sewon. Here, we don't go out our way to hurt and manipulate others to reap our own benefits."
The girl did not reply a single word, as if Jaemin's wise words had finally gotten into her head.
A bracelet dropped onto the carpeted floor.
Sewon looked up to Jaemin, her left fist clenching something tightly. She moved her fist towards her chest, slamming it onto her heart.
"Jae, don't you remember anything ? The good times we had when we were kids. You promised you'll marry me." Sewon screamed out as the memory flashed past in her head once again, the trauma of being forgotten resurfaced.
"All I ever wanted was to revive everything we once had"
The girl fell on her knees.
She was now in the position of Ji Geon a few months back, begging for validation.
But the case was different.
Different parties, different lives, different circumstance.
Sewon had place this upon herself, pleading to no one but her own self.
She has wrecked havoc to the lives of many.
Her mother, the guards and Jaemin's friends.
Jaemin stiffened up himself, taken a few steps towards Sewon to pick up the fallen bracelet.
"Jae and Won?"
"Sewon, you got to be kidding me. We didn't make this" Jaemin sighed as his eyes read the letter beads aligning with each other.
"WE DID!"
"You left me all alone on my sixth birthday, to move to Japan with your family."
"Sewon. I have never been to Japan. This bracelet, you made both of it yourself didn't you?"
Sewon shook her head, sniffling back her tears.
Her mind still in denial, mind not believing a single word coming from Jaemin's mouth.
"Everything was just your hallucination, nothing is real"
"No...no you're lying! STOP"
The girl shrieked out, stumbling every step she took away from Jaemin, her left hand still clenched tightly on her chest, refusing to let go of her fantasy.
Jaemin heaved another sigh of disbelief, slipping the bracelet into his pocket, surprising Sewon.
"What- so you do believe me?" Sewon blurry eyes looked at Jaemin's cold ones.
"No"
"For the future me to show the future you"
