"I can't find you, will you come out?
I'm scared to be left alone
me calling you" - hide and seek, wanna one

You might wonder, what exactly happened before everything went downhill?

JinRin had never tasted a taro so bitter before.

Who knew that a day as innocent as buying a sweet, freshly baked bread will go downhill so quickly.

Sitting at the round yellow table like every other day, the two girls chatted animatedly, talking about their exciting plans after their final examinations.

"Rin! What should we do during winter time?"

"-The first time you're planning ahead of time I see..."

"Shut up Rin, you know how thrilling it feels! Finally being free from exams!"

"Sorry to break it to you but we are still young, halfway there to the marking point of our lifelong education"

"Please let me live in the moment for once"

"Sorry, but the truth is the truth"

Smirking, JinRin took a bite of the steaming hot taro bread.

"That looks so good, I should have bought that instead," Chaewon groaned as she tasted the chocolate that lingered in her mouth.

"Isn't chocolate always your go to for every meal?"

"Taro might change that up completely"

The two girls continued with their laughing spree, joking whilst munching wholesomely.

A day can't be as great as this one.

Out of the blue, the loud slamming of the canteen front door jolted everyone from their meals.

The mysterious person behind the noise soon revealed himself.

And it's none other than the hazel head boy.

The canteen went wild immediately whereas the two girls were unamused.

It was to no surprise that the boy's appearance had caused loud gasps to escape from students who had their mouths full of food.

Why would a popular guy in school enter the frustratingly crowded and sweaty cafeteria.

Even saying it out loud doesn't seem right.

On the other hand, the hazel haired boy paid almost zero attention to all the eyes that were glued to him.

Dashing to the two girls, he instantly panted out incoherent words which only lead to two confused faces.

"First of all, hi, second of all, can you please slow down and speak properly" JinRin muttered out, a little concerned of the boy who was stumbling over every word.

"Please follow me! quick! Jaemin and Ji Geon are getting into an argument!"

"How are we going to help with that?" JinRin asked, dumbfounded.

"You, pigtail girl. I know you're related to Ji Geon in some way or another. We saw the change in personality she had when she met you."

"I was hoping you can help stop her, before things really get out of hand" Chenle spat out, eyebrows furrowing and fingers nervously shivering.

"Is it that bad?" JinRin asked

"I expected Jaemin to have better self-control"

"It isn't just some fight, it's the argument which will determine whether the past will repeat itself"

"The Ji Geon I knew wouldn't even hit a fly... how could she..."

"People can change in a blink of an eye Chaewon.. it's really terrifying" Jisung added, catching his breath as he makes his way beside Chenle.

"You guys need to get to the bottom of this if it's really that bad" JinRin sternly looked at the two lost boys.

"Oh you have no idea" they said in unison.

"It really is that bad, or even worse than you thought"

"Why will I even run all the way here just to deliver a news that I could probably ignore"

"True"

"So are you guys willing to help us? Time is ticking"

"Fine but you owe us two taro breads"

Rolling their eyes, the two boys nodded their heads.

With that, the two girls left their meals and trialed behind the frantic boys

——————————

The boys lead them to the rooftop, an abandoned place where no one dares to visit.

But when it comes to the popular kids, nothing is impossible.

As they made their way there, they could already feel the tension in the air.

The hairs on their arms stood still.

From a distance, they could clearly see the unmistakable 'couple' standing confidently as they rebuttal off their statement for the nth time.

"I should have never trusted you!" Ji Geon gritted out

"Nobody wanted you to turn into a demon!"

"I made no mistakes!"

"Are you sure about that?" Chaewon apprehensively stepped in, staring at Ji Geon straight in the eyes.

A staring contest between two ex best friends.

" Chaewon..."

Ji Geon looked down guiltily at the ground but soon regained her composure.

"I'm so sorry Chaewon.. but things really changed a lot.. moving away was my only choice then"

"I know nothing can make up for what I did to you..."

"And nothing can make up for what you did to Sewon," Jaemin said disgustedly.

"It wasn't me! I said it a thousand times! I wasn't the one!"

No one has ever believed what Ji Geon said.
Lies. All she said were lies.

The four boys who stood awkwardly behind the couple did not know what to do... until one decided to step up and leak the truth.

"It was all my fault.. I shouldn't have came up with the dare"

JinRin's eyes immediately went wide with horror.

How could an innocent guy like Jeno do such a thing?

Before the whole situation goes in the wrong direction even though it is already falling off the rails, JinRin knows where it will lead to.

"What did you say?" Ji Geon's mouth went agape as her face went pale.

Jeno only lowered his head in remorse.

There was nothing he could do, after all actions cannot be reversed and reactions cannot be unchained.

"Honestly Ji Geon, I wouldn't have accepted Sewon either way. I only loved you." Jaemin said painfully

"But that was until you fucking pushed her"

"I did not! She tripped and fell on her own, you know I would never go as far as doing something so malicious!"

Everyone was silent.

"Ji Geon, have you looked at yourself? Who you have become, is it really still you?" Jeno injected.

Staring at the small puddle of water that had soon formed on the ground, she saw her reflection.

Was it really still her?

Did her plan on changing her life worked?

Has the pain of getting blamed for something you hadn't even done.. finally wore off?

Looking around her, inside her confident and gorgeous skin.. she now felt like a grisly pair of worn out shoes.

All eyes were staring at her, disappointment was the only thing she could see.

Crouching down, Ji Geon placed her hands on the cold and rocky ground.

It felt exactly the same.. the unrelenting winds... the almost dark sky.

She hated that feeling.

Should we give Ji Geon a break :((
