why am i always in court? i don't wike it.
Third Person's POV
As always Tyler is wasting her time, well more like her life at court. She loves her cousin (but doesn't admit it), but she doesn't want to be here more than she has to. It's been almost a week since everything happened and it's starting to give Tyler a headache to say the least.
Tyler sees Bradley Pollard, who is in his late twenties, really handsome but a frat boy and smells like alcohol.
"Mister Pollard, are you the natural father of Mary Adler?" Stokes asked Bradley.
"Yes, yes I am." Bradley said.
"How can you be certain of this?" Stokes asked him.
"Well, I always knew, but then, you had me take a DNA test." Bradley says as Tyler rolls her eyes.
Stokes picked up a folder and hands it over to the court. "I would offer the test results as presumptive evidence that Mr. Pollard is the father and natural guardian of the minor. Also, the affidavit of Mr. Pollard nominating the maternal grandmother, Evelyn Adler, as legal guardian of the minor." Stokes said as Tyler's mouth gaped wide open at hearing that, as Frank squirms in his seat.
"Thank you." Edward Not Cullen/Nichols said.
"Mister Pollard, has my client offered you any kind of monetary reward, or employment for you coming forward today?"
"No sir, I have a job of my own." Bradley says.
"Nothing to be gained for you to be here, is this correct?" Stokes asked him.
"Yes sir." Bradley says. As Stokes (Evelyn's lawyer if you forgot), takes a seat, as Cullen rises and carries his laptop with him. (No Cullen's last name isn't from Twilight, sadly, it's Frank's lawyer).
"Mister Pollard, when was the last time you saw Mary?" Greg asked Bradley. As said father of Mary becomes uncomfortable, as he looks at Evelyn's lawyer.
"It's an easy question, I don't think you need Mister Stokes' help. Last time you saw her?" Greg asked him.
"I've never seen her." Bradley says.
"Why not?" Greg asked him.
"Well, by the time I heard about Diane's passing, the baby was already gone." Bradley says.
"Did you try to find her?" Greg asked him.
"The best I could. I couldn't just go and search the entire country." Bradley says as Greg sets the laptop on the arm of the stand.
"You use a computer at work?" Greg asked him.
"Sure." Bradley says.
"Help me out. Google Mary Adler, and let's see what we find." Greg tells him as Bradley looks really nervous as he starts typing.
"Know what? Better add her middle name to narrow it down." Greg says as Bradley looks up at him like a deer in the headlights. Tyler wanted to yell Mary's middle name but she didn't want to.
"Eileen." Greg says as Tyler smirked at hearing that, as she always thought that Mary's middle name was hilarious. Aubry doesn't like the way that it's going.
"Hit enter...page two, second hit. Would you please tell the court what you see there?" Greg says.
"It's a newspaper article, called 'Not So Terrible Two's.'" Bradley says as Greg takes the laptop back. "And one of them is Mary Eileen Adler, same name as your daughter, born the same day as your daughter, with a photograph, well, in your defense, you'd never recognize it." Greg says.
"Your honor, this is..." Stokes says.
"Your Honor, if there's one thing that sadly obvious, Mr. Pollard has never been a genuine guardian of the minor, and his nomination of Ms. Adler is no less disingenuous." Greg says as Edward Nichols takes a long pause to consider.
"While the State of Florida gives deference to a nomination by the natural parent, I'm inclined to side with Mister Cullen and his laptop at this time."
Evelyn, Tyler and Frank find themselves exiting at the same time.
"Don't gloat?" Evelyn says as Tyler rolls her eyes.
"Wouldn't think of it." Tyler said to her grandmother with her famous attitude that hasn't changed for so many years.
"Walk you to the car?" Frank says to his mother as he walks her to the car.

The three of them stroll down the tree-shrouded walkway. As Tyler is keeping a good distance away from her grandmother as she is looking on her phone for tattoo ideas.
"I've always wanted to visit New Guinea, and now I have." Evelyn says as Tyler mocked her.
"You're a delicate flower, Evelyn. We've been so preoccupied I'm ashamed to ask, how's Walter?" Tyler heard her father say as it took her a minute to think who he was talking about and not the Jeff Dunham dummy puppet thing.
Which reminds her to watch that before she goes to bed.
"Ha. You wouldn't believe it if I told you." Evelyn says as she has one earbud in.
"What?" Frank asked his mother.
"Well, your step-father is in Montana. He bought a ranch." Evelyn said as Frank looked at his mother.
"Exactly. A man, whose idea of roughing it is being too far from the ice machine at the Ritz Carlton, now owns a thousand acres of grass and dung. Walter Price is a cowboy." Evelyn says.
"Walter Price wears a Brooks Brothers suit to take out the garbage." Frank said as Tyler snickered at what her father said.
"He has a cowboy hat, and cowboy boots and a horse that doesn't know dressage." Evelyn said as this is awkward for her as this is probably the only time that her father and her grandmother have ever agreed on anything.
"And there's some logical reason for this?" Frank asked his mother.
"Mid-life crisis, apparently." Evelyn replies to her son.
"He's seventy!" Her father exclaims.
"I know. Must have been on a time delay or something. I guess I should be happy it wasn't a twenty-five-year-old cocktail waitress, but then again, an affair you can explain to friends in a minute, for this, you can put a pot of coffee." Evelyn says.
"And he's out there now?" Frank asked as Tyler isn't paying attention to this conversation as she isn't going to even try to anyway.
She loves not paying attention to conversations. It's one of her hobbies.
"Yesiree. Ridin' the range. Punchin' doggies." Evelyn says in a terrible southern accent as Frank grins as he takes a moment to picture it.
"He had a six gun on his hip, and a saddlebag full of Lipitor." Frank says as Evelyn smiles.
"Fastest asset management in the west." Evelyn says.
"Ha!" Frank says as Tyler gives him a look.
"The man who shot Liberty Mutual." Evelyn says as her father laugh as Evelyn grins widely. "That's what I've been calling him." Evelyn says.
"That's really, really funny." Frank says as they have a terrific moment together as they walk on, as Tyler raises an eyebrow at her father.

The driver opens the car door and she enters, door is closed as she lowers the window.
"Take her to the airport." Frank says to the driver as Evelyn even smiles at that as Frank leans in.
"Go home. Or Montana. Rustle some cattle." Frank says as for a moment Evelyn sobers and shakes her head.
"You know I have no desire to hurt you. I hate it that we're at odds." Evelyn says, as Tyler shakes her head.
"I don't, it makes for interesting conversations that lead to arguments." Tyler says as she wasn't surprised that they ignored her. At this point she doesn't care if people ignore her with her smart aleck comments.
"Yes, well, then, that's the job description isn't it?" Evelyn says as she looks at the driver. "Hotel?" After she said that she looked back at Frank. "But you wouldn't know that, you're not a parent, well a good one." Tyler gives her grandmother the finger as their eyes lock as the driver drives away leaving Frank and Tyler.
"Well, that was something." Tyler says a little shocked as she finally saw what looked like her father and grandmother getting along, and then it felt like he got slapped in the face.
"Don't even start." Frank says pointing a finger at Tyler as she stood there shocked.
"What did I do? I'm telling the truth. Jesus Christ." Tyler says as she follows her father to the truck.
