Afghanistan, 13th century. Sultan Jalauddin Khilji is sleeping on his throne. One of his humble followers exclaims, "Look! Seems like he's traveled from Delhi to Gazni only to eat and sleep!" A man replies, "Shareef Pasha, he came all the way here to get us. He insists that we attack Dehli together." Shareef Pasha replies, "Oh, Lord. Now the chief wants to be king of Dehli.." Jalauddin wakes up from his disturbed slumber and replies, "This ain't a rebellion.. it's all about what we want." Shareef replies, "Yes!" Jalaudin asks, "How long do we have to serve the Sultanate? Now I desire to be Sultan!" They all exclaim, "Yes! Indeed, you should!" All of a sudden, someone starts to knock on the gate. The sultan turns his attention to the gate and yells, "Who is this insolent fool!" The gates open, and reveals an ostrich with chains on its neck. The sultan is suprised by this situation, and behind it, reveals a man holding the chains. He walks toward the sultan, everyone starts cheering. The sultan is shocked by how he did this. A determined look appears on the man's face.

"What have you brought with you here, Alaudin," the puzzled sultan asked. "Uncle, you asked for it," Alaudin replied. "Sure, sure. I asked for an ostrich," the sultan said sarcastically. The sultan remembers the favor his daughter asked him. He calls out, "Mehru!" Mehru comes out, "Yes, Father?" The sultan replies, "Look what we have for you!" Mehrunissa looks at the ostrich with awe. "Allah! An ostrich! I love you, Father!" Alaudin smiles at the excited girl and replies, "Me too." Mehru stares at him. They both smile as the sultan says, "I'd like to reward you for fufilling my daughter's wish, tell me what you seek." Alaudin walks up to him, "I risked my life to fufill that wish of yours, now I want your life in return." The sultan grabs him angrily, Alaudin replies, "No! I change my mind! I want to marry your daughter in return!" The sultan, really pissed, slaps him. "You're not smart? For one precious gift, you want another in return." Alaudin replies, "Everything precious belongs to me." Jalaudin replies, "Says who?" Alaudin exclaims, "Alaudin!" He turns to Mehru and yells, "Mehrunissa! Do you take Alaudin as your husband?!" She giggles and he replies, "She accepted." They stare at each other.
