Thirty-One

I run my fingers through the wound. I wince. That was close. I can't stop thinking about Aunt Amaya and how her eyes swelled up with tears. I can't stop seeing her face. How she broke when I turned. She's related to me. She's been a great battle hard aunt. Yet, I betrayed her. I betrayed them all.

The blue bird landed on my horn. It chirped and ate the bugs off my horn.

"What am I doing?" I ask it.

It chirped again.

"I should stop this. But how can I? The screams only get louder and louder."

The blue bird chirps.

"I know, I know, I can't stop this. Nature won't stop this." I say.

It flew down to te ground. I look at it. It looks at me. I reach for it. I lay my hand on the ground. It lands on it. It looks up at me. It chirps.

"What do you think I should do?" I ask.

It chirps again. Its chirps were high and low.

"Yeah. I was thinking that too." I say.

I watch as it flies back to its nest. I stood up. I can't quit now. Even the bluebird gets it. It knows that the world is rotting because of humans and elves. I'm the only one that could heal the scar on our world.
