Ten
Voices. I can hear the forests scream. I can hear the trees cry out in pain. I feel the wind as it blows through my hair and body. It feels angry. It feels so full of pain. Winds connect us all. They connect us to our home. It connects us to the forest and to each little fish in the ocean.
I grip my head. I can hear the screams the winds carry. The screams of nature. I can't get them out of my mind. I try to drown them out by busying myself with spells and learning. Huh, but the past few days I couldn't stop hearing the screams. Nature is upset with the world. Every blade of grass has a voice. Every leaf in every tree has a voice. The voices are screaming.
I think nature is mad at us. I can't blame nature. They have every right to be bad. Humans and Elves have caused a war that has scorched the land. We've left a deep scar. A scar that keeps growing and growing. This bitter hate and violence are destroying nature.
How many trees have been cut down. How many animals have been slaughtered. How many hills have crumbled. I hear all that. I can hear how angry nature is. The screams howl in my ears. I can't stand it.
"Callum?" Ezra said shaking. my arm.
I turn. I look at him.
"Yeah?" I ask.
"You, okay? You've been acting weird for the past few days." He said.
"Oh. I'm fine." I say.
"It's only been a day since we got to the mountain." He said.
"I'm fine really." I le.
He nods. He walked off. These screams, I wish they would stop already.
