The clouds had completely feasted on the sun as the calendar flipped from September to October. Leaves piled up on the floors and cool breezes had driven the sun completely out of business. Hagrid's pumpkin had been blown up like huge balloons as they sat near his hut.

Love is like a balloon. You buy a balloon knowing it's going to pop or deflate some or the other but yet you buy it. Same with love, you know it's going to pop yet you want it. When a child buys a balloon he protects the balloon at all costs just like that when a guy falls in love he does everything to keep it from popping but eventually the balloon will pop or inflate just like love.

"What are you doing?" Jared asked as he saw me day dreaming about the debatable topic of love as I was lying on my bed. "Just thinking" I said, snapping out of my thoughts. Oh gosh it's 9 p.m already? I finished my homework though, so I guess it's fine.

Maybe I should listen to more break up songs. I don't know why, I've been obsessed with breakup songs like, 'deja vu', 'champagne problems' and 'good 4 u'.

"Guys, I have something I've been wanting to say" Val announced in an unsettling manner. "What? You love Diana?" Lorcan said jokingly. Val's face got serious. 'No way' my mind screamed. "How'd you know that Lorc?" Val asked.

"Wait actually?" Lorcan asked as he started laughing hysterically whereas Hugo and Jared got serious. "You're serious?" Hugo asked with his blue eyes widened. "Of course I'm serious!" Val said getting worked up.

"Yeah, I think she's cool, she's outgoing and kind, she's so pretty and sweet" Val said blushing with his cheeks turning pink. "I can't believe that this is happening" Lorcan said dramatically. "What?" Jared asked. "We're getting into the girls era" Lorcan finished as if the world was going to end.

"Shut up" Jared snapped at Lorcan and turned to Val and continued, "Val did you ask her?" He questioned him. "That's what I need help with, we're going to hogsmeade in 2 weeks so I need some help" he said.

"Val, can I ask you something?" I said with a sarcastic smile on my face. "If it's something bad then just shut up" Val replied. "I just wanted to ask how you shamelessly lied every time we asked you if you liked Diana" I said grinning. I knew if I started the game the boys would keep the fire awake.

"I KNOW RIGHT! Everytime we asked him he would put up a big scene as if we were accusing him of a murder!" Jared said backing my statement. "Guys be happy I told you now at least! I've been tired of hiding it" Val said, sighing.

"Eyy come on lover boy give us some of those feelings so we don't have to be single" Lorcan said teasingly patting his head and messing his mocha brown hair. "Oh stop it" Val said shyly. "OMG IS HE BLUSHING??? GUYS LOOK!!" Hugo said as he held Val's head trying to get a look as Val tried to hide his face.

"GUYS STOP ITS NOT FUNNY" Val said on the verge of both laughter and tears. "Eyy, give me some of those flustered cheeks so I can take a picture" I said as I grabbed a camera out of my trunk and tried to take a picture of Val's face by pushing his hands which were covering his face.

The whole night we guys were trolling Val and making up ship names for Val and Diana. All this would be fun, but once the girl comes into action there is a chance that things might fall apart. But Diana is fine I guess.

Ever since Val told us about him being in desperate Diana. Me and my roomies were is the whole mood of always calling Diana our, 'sister' everytime she walks by one of us. Sometimes we even greet her, 'Good morning sister' all in chorus.

And everytime Val and Diana would sit together in Defence against the dark arts class, we laugh so badly and the professor doesn't give a shit about it. But nothing lovey-dovey has happened yet.

But its a start and for some reason more than Val all of us were super excited for him to ask out to Diana. To be honest, if Diana accepts Val. I honestly think all of us would be happier and would have a bigger sense of accomplishment than Val himself.

It had been one week since Val had told us about this whole Diana incident. It was potions class, me and my roomies were walking to class. "I didn't finish my homework, I'm fuc- I'm dead" Lorcan said. We saw Diana, Lily and Michelle walk past us. "Hey it's your blonde girl" Hugo said, hitting Val's shoulder.

"Dude, shut up she might hear it" Jared whispered to Hugo. "Good morning sister" Lorcan greeted Diana as Val pulled Lorcan towards him. "Dude please stop" Val pleaded.

"Scamander" Lily called out. "Yes" me and Lorcan replied. "Lorcan, sit with me for Charms, we need to talk" she said sassily. Oh, so the beef is still on, that's surprising. Lily gave me a stink eye. I pretty much ignored her attitude and went back to Val.

"Why'd you guys keep calling me 'sister'? It makes me feel old" Diana whined. Lily then hit her shoulder and whispered something into her ear. Since I can do lip reading, I can decipher the message that was confided. The message was, 'Diana it's so obvious that Val likes you, they're just teasing Val and you'.

Then gave an unsettling look at Val. She gave a smile and giggled and whispered something back to Lily. "Guys let's get to class it's already 9" Jared said walking to class as we followed him like his obedient tsugukos.

First period was charms. We ran into the classroom and sat on the benches. Professor Ebright entered the classroom with his crooked and unusually long nose. I often think he is half a vampire.

His dead pale skin, his protruding green eyes with his salt and pepper hair and silver rimmed round glasses on the tip of his nose. My guy can be cast as Dracula if he wasn't such an old hag.

He gave a cough and sat on the table. "Today we will be learning the red sparks charm, vermillious" he said. I wonder how his voice always sounds as if he has a lifetime sore throat. He went on and started lecturing about the spell. I already reviewed this spell when I was like 2nd year. It's so basic and a waste of time.

My eyes wandered to Lorcan and Lily discussing something. I wonder what it was. They were hiding their faces with their book so I couldn't lip read either. I saw Val writing some notes down and giving quick glances at Diana. Hugo was already asleep and Jared was helping a Hufflepuff kid with her notes.

The next few days went on like this. Just teasing Diana and Val and going to classes. But the day had arrived. One week had passed and the last week of October was going to start with visiting Hogsmeade on the coming Sunday.

Today was a Saturday, a cold yet pleasant Saturday. We had half day classes and then after lunch we were basically free to do whatever we wanted. But of course the teachers usually give us a lot of work to do on Saturdays so we're basically piled up.

Anyways tomorrow was Hogsmeade and I can't wait for Val to ask out Diana. This wonderful event was scheduled for today at 6:00 pm near the black lake.

At 3:00pm Val sent a letter to Diana in the neatest handwriting he could write. I don't think even his best handwriting can be understood by a common person.

The letter:

I need to tell you something important. Meet me at the black lake at 6:00pm. I don't mind if you will be running late cause there is a 99.99% chance I'll be late too. See ya soon!

Such a shame that Val doesn't know the spelling of sincerely or lovingly. I think the only reason Diana might reject Val is for that spelling mistake in the letter. If that idiot at least showed me or Jared we could have corrected it but Val is impulsive as always.

As 6:00 pm approached we gave him some encouragement and sent him off to the black lake. Of course we were gonna sneak up on him and see how his proposal was going to end up.

"Guys since we gotta disguise so that Val doesn't see us guess what I made?" Hugo said as he showed us a t-shirt and a pant with mistletoe stuck all over it. "Hugo you're a genius" I said sarcastically. Is he stupid or something? I can't believe he wasted time climbing trees and de-rooting mistletoe bushes and sticking them onto t-shirts and pants.

"Thanks! I knew it was a wonderful idea" Hugo said smiling. Yup he's dumb. "Let me introduce you to sarcasm" I started as Jared cut me off and said, "ok this disguise is unhinged, I'm not wearing it and guys it's not even such a big deal can we just focus and get going already?" Jared said.

"I'm already in my sweater. I'm ready" I said, getting up and wearing my shoes. "Hugo, I'll wear that thing with you" Lorcan said. After 15 minutes of yapping we finally got ready and started walking to the black lake. It was 6:05pm and we were near the lake. "Guys stay low" Jared said as we went hiding behind the bushes. Then we got a view of Val leaning on the tree still waiting for Diana.

"Dude what if Diana ditched him and stood up on him?" Hugo suggested and Jared gave a knock on his head. "Shut up" Jared said. I was trying so hard not to laugh at the expression Lorcan and Jared were making.

Then we saw Diana running over and panting as she reached the scene and then someone covered my mouth, there was smooth wavy red copper coloured hair on my shoulders and face. It was Potter. "Shut up it's just me" she said as she pushed me into Jared and stole the place I was hiding in. Michelle had joined our hiding spot.

The bushes shrugged. "What was that?" Diana exclaimed as she saw the bushes. "Must be a bear- I mean a- bird or maybe a squirrel" Val said nervously.

"So what did you want to tell me or ask me?" Diana asked as her blue eyes glistened.

Love is like a deflated balloon. It's going to either leave you breathe less after blowing it up to it going to pop and leave a nasty scar if it's going to be filled with excessive air and get POPPED!

I randomly started humming blank space as Lily told me to shut up and Michelle joined me in.
