His scars... they're enormous. His back looks completely scratched up. I want to ask, but I'm scared of what he'll tell me. His back and spots of flesh and skin that were torn off. What happened to him?
"Aaravos, tell me." I say.
He lets out a breath.
"My father." He finally says.
"Your father... did that to you?" I ask skeptical.
He moves away. He glances at me as he passes.
"I told you wouldn't understand." He says.
"I'm sorry." I say.
"It's not your fault." He says.
I grab his arm. He turns in surprise.
"Just tell me." I say.
He pushes his arm free of mine. He pulls his hair back.
"My father always viewed me as a failure an unworthy celestial." He says.
"You? The Star? You were one of the Great Ones." I say.
"Not in my father's eyes." He says.
I put his hand on my shoulder.
"I'm sorry." I say.
"It's just a distant memory." He says.
"Is that really how you feel?" I ask.
He turns and walks off. I look down. I might've pushed him too far. A shadow of guilt wraps around me. I didn't mean for him to feel uncomfortable. I feel pretty sour. I turn. How messed up is his family?
