P E R H A P S,

Someday we will meet again as characters in a different story,
Maybe we will share a lifetime then.

Darkness. A deep empty darkness surrounded the Skiff where everyone was on board and the twins were standing next to each other while watching General Kirigan talk with Alina and uses her to make a tunnel through the Fold towards where General Zlatan was. The brunette was letting a breath out she doesn't realized holding it in, the sounds of the Volca made her shiver run down her spine while she watches Aleksander talk with Alina aswell overpowering her.

"He is consumed with vengeance.."
She whispers but Eugene heard her and looked at her when he turned to her - standing in front of her;
"We all are, Ira. Its understandably why he acts like this, everyone feels the same pain in losing something dear. Morozova, you and me have experienced that pain."
He tells her and looking at her with an unreadable expression.

"When people start to call vengeance justice..it only will start a circle of sadness, hate and suffering.
It was always like this all of our lives, we died twice as innocents from this revenge feelings of other people and we need to end this circle finally."
Her amber eyes looked back at her brothers dark brown eyes who seemed not effected at all from her words.

Eugene lets a dry chuckle out and rubs his forehead when he looks forward seeing that Kirigan had already start their plan of destroying the city that was on the other side of the Fold.
"Its a nice dream of stopping it but many tried it and it never worked."

Ira gives her twin brother a serious expression and looked forward when she said something that made him wide his eyes; "I will not stop it, I will break it and everyone who is a part of it.
I will break everything and create with the fragments of the old world - a new world, hopefully a decent one."

Her twin was surprised at her words but it was cut short when they see Morovoza using his powers to control the shadows of the Fold and moving them forward towards the city ahead of them. Screaming and cries could be heard from the other side. Right now, Ira realized that he destroyed a whole city when she walks quickly to him and grabs his arm.
He turns to the brunette with a smile and grabs her shoulders with a happy expression;
"Today, we redraw all the maps. With the power of the Sun Summoner at my command, I control the Fold. And its monsters. I can move it to any border I like. Engulf any harbor. Consume any city. Take what you have seen back to your home countries. Tell the Fjerdans. Tell the Shu Han."
He takes a deep breath and cups her cheek with his hand;
"There will be no more war with Ravka. All countries will answer to us. For who would oppose us now?"

Ira watches Aleksander who doesn't seemed like himself right now and she can't regonize the man she had fallen in love with before 500 years while she grabs onto his black kefta tightly with teary eyes: "Aleksander, all i want is your love..you don't need to do all this."

Onyx eyes locked with her amber eyes and right now she saw they start to soft yet they got immediatly cold again as he grabs her arms tightly; "Love won't save you, Ira. I won't lose you the way I lost you once. I am not the man you once knew, I have become more powerful than any Grisha and I have done it for you. To protect you and give you the future you always dreamed."

"Come with me, lets leave everything else behind while we still can.
My future was always to have a peaceful live with you."
The poor girl pleaded while the Darkling looked at her with an expression that broke her heart.

It was empty, so cold and so dark; "Don't you see, we don't have to run away anymore. I am more powerful than anyone else. I can overthrow the king, and together you and I can rule the world. Make things the way we want them to be."

"No...Baghra was right.
You've changed."
Ira pulled away from Aleksander with teary eyes and a face full of pain, sadness and suffering while she steps slowly backwards.

"I don't want to hear anything about Baghra.Baghra and many other Grishas turned against me.
Don't you turn against me."
General Kirigan stepped forward to the brunette who stepped backwards each time he tries to get closer.

Yet she stops and looks in his eyes who let a teardrop fall over her cheeks when he lifts his hand to wipe it away she begs him the last time;
"I don't know you anymore.
Aleksander, you're breaking my heart. I'll never stop loving you, but you are going down a path I can't follow. Because of what you've done . . .
what you plan to do.
Stop, stop now. Come back! I love you."

His hand was gentle and his eyes got soft for a minute when he saw the teary expression of his lover and leaned down to kiss her forehead when he whispers; "I love you too.."
but there moment was cut short.

Everything happend so fast that made Ira freeze in few seconds.
When Mal arrives at the top of the ship and begins shooting, but Kirigan's men soon overthrow him. Kirigan tells Alina to focus on the light keeping them all safe or her friend dies.
The Crows move to attack. Inej shows her skills, but as she's about to be killed, Zoya saves her and asks for help to stop Kirigan. And then, just in time, Kaz and Jesper arrive to help.

Ira watches everything in horror and saw that one woman next to Zoya threw a blade into Aleksanders chest made her heart skip a beat.

"Aleksander!"
She says his name loud in worry next to him while he pulls the blade out his chest as blood was on it. He groans and looks angry directly at the woman who threw the blade and says loud;
"It will take more than this!"

However, he was handling it and tells them to stay in the dark.
The volcra attacks the skiff.

Three of the Volca tried to attack Eugene and get him when the brunette burned the monsters with her golden fire while she yells to let him go.
She runs quickly towards him and helps him up. While the twins fight against the Volcra and kill each one after another, had Alina a strange feeling and sees the stag ahead of her. Kirigan offers Alina his hand to form an allegiance, but she tells him she doesn't need him and uses the dagger to slice the mythical object that bridges their powers out of his hand.
In a grandstanding moment, she shows Kirigan who she really is, her powers in full throttle, and states that the stag chose her, regardless of his meddling.

One of Aleksander man grabbed Alina and the light turned down when Ira saw one of the men tried to shot at her brother who was protecting the some of the people on the Skiff, her legs instinctly moved on their own and stood in front of her brother her arms spread and three bullets hit her in the stomach and chest. She lets a groan out and a gasped of pain while protecting her brother from dying.

Before she could react Penelope and Adha got grabbed by Volcras and got eaten by them through the air some of their body parts fall on the Skiff and ground. Her loud cry let a wave of a large light explode from her body that killed almost all Volcras around them.

Hearing the cry of Ira, Aleksander looks quickly towards her and calls her name; "IRA"
but Mal pushes him off the Skiff and they fight each other. Eugene quickly pushed the man away from him and went to his sister as he stood behind her and watching her bleed out - the scene broke his heart. As if glass was falling down on the ground and so many fragments were on the ground.

"You're not the one to make the sacrifice play."
Eugene starts to cry quietly when Ira turned slowly to him with a smile.

Her smile was full of blood that came out her mouth and stayed strong for him. Her voice was soft yet strong even she was right now in pain:
"I assure you brother.
Now you can live free, in peace and you will never die again. This time.. it's me who dies and you who will live.
I protect you and you protect me.."
Her hand grabs Eugene's weakly and he holds it tightly when a Volcra appeared behind her and grabbed her by upper body and lifts her up.

The hold onto the hand of Ira was holding her still at the Skiff and everyone was watching the scene in horror. She was smiling and crying at the same time. Ira doesn't wanna die. She never wanted it. It was to much pain.

"Protect Aleksander and be both safe.."
She tells him as she lets her hand free from the hold of the hand of her brother.It was the last contact between the twins.
The Volcra took her with him and fly with her away into the deep darkness while she was whispering; "
Dont worry, I will be okay.."

"IRA!!!"
Hearing the voice of Aleksander who tried to run after her and rescue her but got stopped by Mal who attacked him. Broke her heart and wishes that her lover finds peace even she was again dying away from him.

"I just wished..to have a future with Aleksander..just once.."
She whispers when everything turned dark around her and lost everything.

Everyone was just watching Ira got killed by the Volcra instead of doing something. This made Eugene angry and he starts to summon the whole darkness around them.
Mal repeatedly shoots Kirigan, but it has no effect and it made the Darkling angrier then he already was.
"I've survived for centuries.
Did you really think you could kill me?"

"I don't have to kill you, Darkling.
Your past will do it for me."
Mal stood in front of Kirigan and point behind him when the volcra smashes into Kirigan, and all the others presume he's dead just like Ira yet they haven't realized that Eugene was gone too.
Mal returns to Alina who is unconscious. He begs her to come back, tears filling his eyes as he senses it is all over - she wakes up and uses her powers to bring them to safety and out of the Fold.

The story ends how it begun by the Shadow Fold.
Out the Darkness came two men out one of them was Eugene without any scars on his body and the other one was Aleksander Morozova who had now scars across his face from the volcra as a reminder of the origin of his new power.

He looks into the void and his eyes were glassy from the tears that didnt stop to fill his eyes, he lets some roll down his cheeks while he stood in front of the Shadow Fold with Eugene next to him.
His hand holds his side as Aleksander let out a shaky breath from the pain and sadness he felt right now;
"The world took everything away from me. Everything I ever loved."

Onyx eyes were glued towards the void that lets out sound from thunders and growls from the monsters.
Eugene stood next to him and holds his hand over the Shadow Fold while he closed his eyes.
Aleksander watches him and felt something weird in his chest when the brother of his lover lowered his hand he had a smile on his face;
"She hasn't died. Ira is still alive, I can feel her through the darkness and our connection is stable even its weak right now."

Aleksander let a breath out he was holding and felt relieved to know that his lover its still alive, aswell can save her and protect her from everyone.
He could feel the connection between him and her while he places his hand on his chest and says:
"I will come back Ira, no one gonna takes her away from me again. I will find you and bring you to a safe place."

Turning around to walk away from the Shadow Fold with Eugene next to him and the Fold follows him, that created large monsters who follows his command; "Follow me"
Everyone starts to follow the Black Heretic and Eugene was more and more focused to find his sister aswell have his revenge.

Somewhere in the middle of a large forest was laying a girl with brown hair, fair skin, who was bleeding out from her body, being more specific from her wounds on her stomach.
A dead Volcra laid a bit far from her and the sunlight that was shining down through the leaves from the trees showed the bodies to the world.
The wind was moving the leaves as the Shadow Fold remind where it was five meters away from the brunette.

Light came out her body and everything starts to glow as it was healing the wounds of her body and kept her alive. As if her power was protecting her and let her rest for few more minutes.
When the glowing stopped and everything was like it was before - the breathing of Ira became normal.
Her eyes slowly start to open and she closes th4m immediately when the rays of sunlight hit her face.
After few tries she could see better and holds her side to see that she had stopped bleeding aswell her wounds were healed.

Ira sits up and holds her head in her hands while she groans. She pulls her hands away and looks around where she was when she realizes that she was in a forest and the Volcra dead, she was more then relieved. She stood up and was exhausted from everything.
Her amber eyes were for the first time in so long for a second relaxed.

"How rare and beautiful it is to even exist."
A deep male voice appeared behind her and when she turns around to see who it was - her eyes widen in shock and fear.
She steps backwards and couldn't believe her eyes right now.

The man who smirked at her with a evil aura starts to clap and watches her in amusement;
"Thats not a way to greet your father, Ira."

"How? You are dead since 1000 of years..how can you still live?"
The brunette watching him who continues to wear this sadistic smirk on his face and starts to laugh loud but stopped when he saw the fear in Ira's body language and eyes.

"I haven't died, i was all this time alive and worked in the shadows.
After all I needed to do plans and now here we are. Are you ready, Ira?"

Her amber eyes filled with tears and she looks away towards the Shadow Fold:
"What more could I lose?"

And now Ira realized that the story just had begun and the true Enemy was standing behind her.
