L I G H T,

A warm ray of Moonlight was shining on the face of the brunette who was standing in the middle of the a forest that was covered from the white snow of the winter. Lifting her hands to catch a snowflake as the snowflake land on her hands and then she realized there were full of blood. Her amber eyes widen in shock and turned to wash them in the river as she saw blood on her face aswell - her eye colour was red in the reflection on the water. Her right hand reach to touch her face but there was nothing when stares at the reflection of herself.
It was like a dark version of herself that seemed completely lost.

"You are just broken as me, only you are a better liar. Look at me, I am the real you - the one that can protect all loved once. Let me out and I promise you a world of peace." Her own voice scared Ira and she turned around to see herself with a smile, bloody tears run down her cheeks and her hair was brown but the end of them was white. Bruises of her fair skin and her amber eyes were dark and a mix of yellow - orange while she was the opposite of Ira.

"Who are you?" Ira asks the evil Ira who stood in front of her and chuckle;
"That's a shame, you don't see yourself." She continues to chuckles as she steps forward and lifts her hand to point at Ira;"I am you yourself. I am the you inside your heart. I am your precious hatred. I am your Darkness, oh sweet Light."

Evil Ira stood directly in front of Ira as she lifts both her arms and smiled evily at her with mischief in her eyes;
"The time has come,let there be carnage and fulfill your desire for revenge."
She puts her hands back to her hips as she watches Ira with sad eyes.
"Everyone in the World is just sweet-talking you now.
They don't mean it.
They've been lying to us this whole time. Making up rules and treating us like outcasts. Killing everyone from our nation. Don't you remember?"

The brunette sighed and looked down as she looks back up at her.
"I understand you completely but you aren't the real me. You are just a fragment of my old lifes desires for revenge against Grisha and Non Grisha. I mean look at me if I would do that I am the next Heretic and everyone would hate me.."
She whispers but Evil Ira looked at her confused as she appears next to Ira and point at a small girl with a white dress who was playing with some butterflies. "Since when are the opinions of others important? Look at her, this was her last wish as she got killed in a young age with her whole nation, you know it very well. Thats us..full of hope and love.
Now how you will decide?"
Evil Ira asks her when everything starts to crumble and the small girl looked at both while she watches Ira fall into the dark emptiness as the floor crumbled.

A small hand lifts in the air as she lets the butterfly fly towards Ira who fell through the dark emptiness while it glows; "May my gift be helpful, Ira. Remember us and fulfil our last wishes." The Child Ira spoke softly as the Butterfly explode in a crumble of light in front of falling Ira and showed her a vision.

She tried to talk, but there was no sound. Her body felt like it was on fire, and the her breathe was stolen from her lungs. All thoughts vanished, her mind was mindless.

Darkness.

A distant voice called her but she couldn't open her eyes, she doesn't feel nor breath, it was so strange.

Then-light.

A large light was blinding her shortly and the butterfly was burning as the symbols were shining in different colours, her whole body was starting to glow, glowing so bright it was almost like a star. Yet, she was able to look right at it and somehow this thing gave her so much power it scared her. Her amber eyes shined more golden then before.

"What is happening to me?" She asked herself and tried to get out this weird dream.

Ira screamed in agony. She was on fire again, the light of her body made her close her eyes. Images flashed through her mind-faces, names, symbols, things she did not know or understand.

Voices of people she knew and buzzling imagines went through her head;
"The Stag choose me",

"You cant save them Alina",

"You may have the power of light,
but not the power to heal.",

The Stag got cut in half by Kirigan.

More Imagines went through her head and she tried to block them.

"Stop..please!" Ira begged and open her eyes. One was red and the other one was golden.

The Butterfly became light that flew inside her body. Ira was alone and looks up at her hands as tears fell on her cheeks. Information flooded her, filling her mind with images and thoughts and sounds and so much that she felt she might burst once more and be nothingness again.

As the brunette open her eyes she found herself in the middle of the forest in front of a frozen waterfall and looked at around to see her backpack aswell her sword. She was confused how she came her but two voices of women got her attention her;
"We were waiting for you to wake up, you slept much."

In front of her stood Adha and Penelope with a smile while they looked down at her with food in her hands.
"Here take that. You need some food." Adha adds and Ira took it while she bites into the bread.
Chewing on it and was confused how she came here while the two sisters watch the brunette with worried eyes.

"We found you next to a old empty house not far from here. You were laying in the snow and you seemed cold aswell, we thought you were dead but a bubble of light over your body was protecting from the winter and your body wasn't cold at all, it just seemed like it. I don't know what you did outside but we grabbed you and put you in our small camp here. This was before two days, now you are awake finally."

Her eyes widen at shock and was more confused what was she doing outside and how she came out from Little Palace?
She didn't know but once she knows for sure - the dream was a vision and her destiny is to arrive early to stop everything even it seemed pointless. "Girls, I need your help. I had a vision and we need to get fast there."

Ira stood up and put her cloak over her body aswell taking her sword and backpack. Both sisters look at each other and debate if they should go with her or not but decide to go with her since she had protect them and gave them food even they were totally strangers back then.
"We will join you but you will tell us on the way there."
Penelope adds and Adha agrees while running after Ira who smiled at them; "Of course, be prepared for a story you wouldn't even believe."

The trio went through the Tundra and the snow made their fast speed slowly that made them walk three days through the cold winter weather.
Lucky for Adha and Penelope, Ira could protect them from the snow and cold weather through the Light bubble that surrounded them. It didn't took long when they finally arrived in the forest where the Stag was but sadly they were to late. They could her screams and grunts but what catched Ira's attention more was the scream of the Stag.

The brunette was the first one who run in the direction as fast as possible when she sees in front of her eyes everything she saw in the vision.
Everything happend so fast and it made Ira realizes how useless she was.
A soldier shoots the stag, and Zoya turns up to try to stop Alina and Mal. Alina uses her powers to fend them off, and she helps Mal, who is seriously injured and losing blood. Kirigan shows up, so Alina runs over to the stag to defend it. Under pressure and wanting to save Mal, Alina moves away from the stag, and Aleksander aswell Eugene immediately cuts the stag in half with their powers. He asks for Mal to be healed as he was protecting Alina.

"Eugene..."
Her soft voice got lost in the wind of the snow that took it with it.
A tightness in her chest appeared - it makes air feel like razor blades moving through her. The girl feels like garbage in the moment but she can't bring herself to put something good inside her. All of her energy is taken up fighting the urge to wind herself in a ball and letting the pain unfurl around her.
"I had a vision and I watched it come alive. Now I'm wishin' that I had a bit more time."
Her eyes were bloodshoted and right now she realizes that it was hard to focus when the pressure made her blind these days.

"Ira?" Eugene felt her presence and turned towards where she stood between trees and the snow was hiding her with the other girls.
She stepped out the hiding spot and stood in front of her brother with teary eyes while Aleksander, Alina, Mal and the others were back where it was a large camp. "Why?" She asks him and watches her brother wore a black Kefta with silver fragments on it.

Her twin brother looks at her as he sighed; "What you wanna hear Ira?
I did it because i must do.
I wanna have a life, a peaceful one without to look behind me for hunters who mind kill me for having powers.
I share the same beliefs as Morozova and the only way to get a good life means going over dead bodies.
Ira, the world isn't based on black and white, its grey. You know, I hate bad people. They act so damn superior when their empathy and imagination are as empty as a vacant lot.
I can't deal with good people.
They forgive those bad people.
Then they view the act of forgiveness as a noble thing.
Makes me want to vomit."
He stops and rubs his face as he had teary eyes as well when he continues;
"I can't be with you, because I went through every scenario and I always end up being dead following your path of good. I love you my sister but this time I choose me over everyone even you. I trust Morozova and we will make the plan work even when you come between our goal..you know what happens."

"You trusted Aleksander over me?
I did everything I was told and more..you betrayed me..my own brother. How could you do that?
We were raised together, we played together, we fought together,
don't you remember anything of it?
We made a promise as children to stay side by side, Don't you remember it?!!" She says loudly and couldn't cry right now - all her tears were dried from all the crying the past days;
"You promised me, you are a liar."

Ira lift her hand that was glowing and out of it came a golden fire out that was directly shot to her brother. Eugene douchted it and starts to circle her;
"Are you sure you wanna do that?
You aren't capable of killing me.
I am your brother Ira, don't make it harder then it is. Join my path."
He reach his hand out so that his twin sister could take it but before she could do that Zoya had pushed her with the wind power against a huge tree.
"You shouldn't have done that I had everything in control."
Eugene said angry and checked Ira who was now sleeping when he lifts her up in his arms bride style.

"What are you doing?
Shouldn't we kill her?"
Zoya asks Eugene and followed him where he was heading. He stops in his tracks and glared at her with cold stare but before he could say something someone else beats him;
"If you or someone else lays a finger on her will be dead."
The voice of Aleksander could be heard behind them since they were almost there by the Camp as he was now walking to Eugene to look at Ira's face who was buried in the shoulder of her brother. He lifts his hand to caress her cheek and stood in front of Eugene;
"I will take her from here but join me, we need to talk."
Carefully he takes Ira in his arms and sees a small wound on her head as he lifts his head to see who did it from them.

From the expression on Eugene he could guess that it was Zoya and looked at her with a cold eyes;
"Zoya, go to the others and help them." He says without care and wanted to handle this later.
Eugene followed Aleksander and after few minutes they arrived at the tent of Kirigan. HIs body movement on his own when he laid her down on his makeshift bed and looked at the small wound if he could call a healer or not but Eugene brought him out his thoughts; "Do not fret, Ira can heal herself. She just don't know it."

When Eugene told him this her small wound starts to glow and became slowly how it was and this made Aleksander curious and surprised while he touches the part of her head where the small wound was.
"How does it work?"
He asks the twin and doesn't take his eyes of her.
"Her light can heal her and also others, it actives when she is hurt yet it only shows when she sleeps when she is a wake it doesn't work because she doesn't know it. If she knew what she can do then its a different story, she could do so much more but she needs to find the library or experience everything on her own."
He answered and watches Darkling next to his sister while he crosses his arms in front of his chest.

His eyes went down on his hand and sees the bone of the Stag while he watches him;
"It seems the plan had work with Alina, you gained the control of the powers of her with the Stags help?"
He asks him and Kirigan turned to him while he stood up as he looks down at his own hand; "Yes, the plan worked. We need now to get through the Shadow Fold with everyone and as a sign that we are more powerful then before."

"Whats with my sister? Her reaction when she saw us killing the Stag and catching Alina with Mal, wasn't a pleased one."
Eugene asks him straight forward and narrowed his eyes at him when he sees for a short second soft eyes towards her but got quickly away.
"She will join us and be a part of everything. I will convince her, after all she will be my wife."
He adds and Eugene followed his movements with his eyes;
"Dont hurt her, I already did it."
He told him and walks out his tent while Aleksander watched him walk out.

His onyx eyes looks back at the girl who was sleeping in his bed and walked towards her while he sits at the side on the bed; "I will protect you and love you everyday like you deserve after this, you have my word."
He lowers his head to kiss her forehead and caress her cheek with his hand;
"I will give you the future we always dreamed about."
He adds and kisses her head few times as he pulls away to change his clothes to go to bed since tomorrow is the big day.

It was already day time as the brunette woke up and sat in the bed from Kirigan while she sighed when her eyes look around the place they catch a table full of food and drinks. She gets out the bed and walks towards the table as she sat down on the chair to start to eat since her stomach made a sound and she was hungry. Ira lets a hum out and takes a sip from the water when she hears footsteps getting closer towards the black tent. The person steps inside of it and lets a bit the sunlight shine in the tent. Aleksander was walking towards her and she watches him while she chews on some fruit pieces.
"You are awake, thats good."
He says and lowered down to kiss her but she turns her head away from him; "You are still mad at me, how it seems." He adds and lowers down on his knees and takes her hands in his.

"I'm sorry how I treated you back then and what I said. You are the only one I want and you are the only one who has my heart." He apologise and kisses her hands while he watches her with his onyx eyes. Ira looks at him and then at their hands;
"Then tell me the truth..what happened after I died and what did you do, I wanna know the truth from you.
I'm exhausted from all these secrets and hiding, Before we had the argument did you slept with me because it was a mission or is it a real relationship?..
Please Aleksander tell me the truth." Her ambers eyes stare into his onyx eyes when he sighed yet he grabbed a chair to pull it next to her and sat down while he holds one of her hands.

"No, everything between us is real,
I love you and only you.
Everything what is between us has nothing to do with my goal what I wanna achieve.
After you died I created the Shadow Fold, it wasn't a mistake at all, it protects the Grisha.
You understand to live in hiding for fear of being murdered simply for being. It's why I built the Little Palace in the first place. Everything that I have done, everything that I have ever done, has been to make Ravka safer, to make Grisha safer! I never intended for it to be the blight it's become. Or for men like the King or Zlatan to exploit it for their own gain." He told her when Ira sighed as she stood up aswell pulling her hand away from him.

"But you put Alina the bones of the Stag and control her power because you need her Sun power to conquer the Shadow Fold, right?
You want to make the Fold larger then before but whats is with the children? The innocents.."
Ira said as he stood up and walked towards her as he cupped her cheeks in his hands but she pulls away and looks at his face; "I understand now when you told me you don't wanna use me back then, you use Alina and try to gain her power through such a terrible method but..Aleksander that's wrong, You don't care who suffers, as long as you win.
Doesn't exist another way?"
She asks him and was speechless aswell shocked about everything that had happened, she doesn't know what to say anymore.

Aleksander look at her face and had teary eyes while he watches her;

"Fine. Make me your villain."

He lifts her chin up and looks in her eyes while he says;
"I will not let you go. I lost you once and I don't let history repeat again." Aleksander went with his thumb over her lips as he leans down to kiss her deeply aswell loving.
When he pulls away and looks in her eyes he whispers:
"I know you probably hate me right now and I get it. If I could be a different person I promise you, I would. But the world made me this and i can't change that. You once told me 'The past never dies' and thats true, the past makes us who we are."

Ira looks back in his eyes and grabs his neck while she leaned her forehead against his; "I will never hate you and I can't hate you. My love for you will never die."
She whispers and he took her hands in his while he leans down to kiss her the last time. Aleksander pulls away from the kiss and replies;
"As my love will never die for you."
He leaves her in the tent and walks away while he made her speechless with everything that had happened.

"Are you ready? We need to be now on board of the Skiff."
Eugene told his sister who was ready when she turned to him and nods 'yes'. "Ira, come."
Aleksander adds who stood next to Eugene who had grabbed Alina on her arm tightly.

The brunette followed both men and could feel the eyes of Alina on her - yet she doesn't said a word while she got on the Skiff. Her heart was racing and she looks ahead of the Shadow Fold while she sees that Aleksander makes sure Alina is chained to the transport so she can't escape.

Ira was feeling that the Skiff will start any minute and senses that her brother walked towards her as he stood next to her; "We are heading towards Novokribirsk."
He told her as he watches his sister with worried eyes while she reminds quiet and looks ahead of the Shadow Fold.

"No matter what happens,
You protect me and I protect you."
This sentence almost made Ira cry but she still keeps her brave face and grabs the hand of her brother tightly as she whispers; "Always." with this word - loud thunder could be heard from the Shadow Fold and the Skiff starts to move towards the Void.
