Before 1000 years

It was a dreadful, terrible night full of screams and fear. You heard someone screaming, and the twins stood up afraid yet still kids, maybe 17,000 People, and they screamed in unison. Can you imagine 15,000 - 30,000 People screaming at the same time?
Ira thought that half of the world could hear her people dying in the fire. And the world didn't know what was Happening? Everyone saw what was Happening.
But they didn't want to help.

Grisha, Non Grisha even the animals no one helped them - no everyone was killing them because they saw them as a treat. Grisha were envy and non Grisha thought there were the definition of evil even they lived isolated from everyone and didn't do anything wrong. Soldiers were running around and killed all Illios no matter children or adults, everyone needed to vanish. Ira cried as her mother tried to protect them with her light magic.

"Don't touch my babies."
She yells and killed the soldiers one by one but one Grisha, he was a Heartrender who used his Magic to kill her mother.
"MOTHER! MOTHER!"
The voice of the ten year old could be heard as she runs towards the older woman who was right now on her knees and vomitting blood out her mouth.

Light came out the small hands of the girl who tried to heal her mother as the chaos getting deeper and deeper as the screams were still be heard.
Her mother grabbed her hands and smiled softly at her daughter.

"Mother, i am scared.."
She says weak and her tears were fresh on her white cheeks. Her tears seemed as diamonds through the moonlight while her mother looked in her amber eyes. The hands of her mother went through her long brown wavy hair and holds her head;
"Ira, my angel,
you don't need to be scared.
You and your brother will never be truly apart. You both grew up to the same beat of my heart."
Her hands went to her cheeks to wipe the tears of her mother and gave her a small smile.
"Promise me you stay safe,
promise me you will be happy,
promise me to protect your brother, promise me that you will stay like you are. Promise me,Ira.."
Her mother had tears in her eyes while she pulls Ira for the last hug.
Ira's mother kissed the forehead of her daughter as she said: "I love you so much Ira and your brother."
The brunette returns the hug and didn't let go of her;"I promise Mother, I love you."

Her mother pushed her gently towards the exit when she heard soldiers came and Ira did what her mother told her.

The small girl kept running and hearing the scream of her mother brought more tears on her young face.
Her legs guided her the whole time as she searched for her brother quietly without getting notice by the soldiers from the Grisha and Non Grisha. She stopped at a wall to hide as she saw her brother protect younger kids from Grisha and her eyes widen.
Before the Grisha could do something - Ira run towards her brother and stood in front of him aswell the kids.
Her arms spread out and she looks death in the eyes.

"I will not let anyone harm my brother!!!"
She says loudly and through her anger, pain and desperately soul. Her body starts to glow and her painfully scream let all of her power out and burned all soldiers to ashes who were near the twins.

Amber eyes shined gold and she stopped glowing as Eugene took her hand in his to help her. Both Twins fought against everyone with their power, darkness and light became the balance of the world in this moment.
When everyone died around them and both stopped their power - the kids they protect feared them.

One of the older kids stood in front of the younger kids as he glared at them.
"You shouldn't have done that..
You both should have calmed down."
He told them and light a fire in his hand.

Ira looked up at the dark blue night sky and tears were running down her face. "We should have calmed down?
These men slaughtered our family and our people for being what?
Magic human beings who didn't harm anyone."
She steps forward in front of him and continued to cry quietly.
"They were my family, Davius.
Everyone here was my family.
My mother.. " Her voice was filled with pain and full of sorrow.

Eugene stepped next to her and holds her hand tightly. Davius watched the twins and looks at her face;
"That doesn't give you the right to kill Ira and Eugene, you are not a murderer." Her brother glared at Davius and stepped in front of Ira.

"Yes, these people murdered our family for no reason. For no reason.
We done nothing to them."
Eugene told him confused and furrowed his eyes while he had tears in his eyes.

Davius lets a sad laughter out and hit Eugene in his face;
"Your family was a collateral damage,
it happens often.
This men wanted to help us."
Ira looked disgust at Davius as her brother lift his hand and summon Shadows while surrounding him in pure darkness.
"Our faces will be the last thing you see when you die, Davius.
Shall the darkness eat you alive."

The scream of Davius could be heard as the shadows attack him and truly ate him.
After some minutes everything was gone from Davius while Ira stepped to Eugene and hold his hand;
"He is gone, let's go Eugene please.."
She says softly as the younger children yelled at the twins and called them "Monster" - also one of them threw stones at them.

Ira pulled her twin brother away and run away from the their home.
Through the deep dark forest they could manage to get far away thankfully for the light of Ira but they sadly didn't make it far. The night was cold and both were exhausted as Drüskelle were hiding in the forest and wait for survivors to catch them and kill them.

"EUGENE!!!"
She yells as two men grabbed him and stabbed him few times in his chest and stomach.

"NOOOO!!! PLEASE NOO!! NOOO!! EUGENE"

Her painfully screams activate her magic and burned both men but one was shooting at the young girl with an arrow and hit her in her right shoulder as she holds it while she walks towards her brother.
"Eugene, don't leave me please.
Stay with me..Don't go..stay.."
She cries as she saw his light in his eyes start to go away but his last words made her cry the first time loud.
"You protect me...and I protect you.."
He whispers and died in front of her eyes while she saw her hands turned into red blood from her brother.

One of the man hit Ira on her head and made her lay down on her side while she was sobbing uncontrollably.
The soldier turned her on her back and looks down at her with another man next to him. Her face turned to the right where her brother laid and watches two Drüskelle did terrible things to him. Tears running down her face as she feels rain had start to fallen from the sky and her eyes saw the fire in the distant that sound like a growl of a dragon who destroyed everything she loved.

Tears of the Sky were crashing on the earth.

Rain.

The sound of rain was calming and peaceful as the girl was laying on the bed of flowers, everything seemed timeless in this moment. Her brown wavy hair was spread across the dandelions, daisies, roses and sunflowers - were under her and surrounding her as if she was suit for this. Her golden eyes filled with tears of sorrow that shine so bright as the last fragment of life.
Her body was pinned to the ground - helpless, so helpless while the stars were shining above her head. Red liquid running down her mouth as drops fall on white roses turning them red - Blood spread across the sea of flowers under her while she breathes last once's. A Grisha man and normal human man stood in front of her body where she laid. Their eyes, sharp and scary as if they hate her more then all the sinners on the world. To her right was her twin brother Eugene who was already dead in most brutal way. His head was implied by a spear and his body parts were everywhere while his blood was covering the earth of the forest.

Her eyes filled with tears as she doesn't look away from her brother while she remembers how everyone of her family and friends died by the hands of this people. She is helpless and all she can do is cry and await execution from the two men.

"Look at you, laying there. Pathetic. Final the last of the Devils breed, you will not put magic on us ever again, you witch." One of the man spoke out who lift their Glavie as Ira realized that she was the one who will receive retribution - Injustice retribution.

"I just wanted to go back and be praised from all...Eugene, mother..my time has come to join you all...I am sorry..." Ira whispers as her eyes locked at the cold night sky above her head - memories of her life spread before her eyes and the things that could have been in far future.

"Well, Eugene?" Tears rolling down her cheeks as she slowly closes her eyes. "Aren't I amazing? Like that." Birds starts to fly away as they got scared of the loud sound.

Was her last words she thought when darkness surrounded her and Ira couldnt feel her body anymore.

Present Time

Ira woke up in the middle of the day and her head was on the books she had read the whole night about her ancestors aswell her past life.
She wipes the tears strained of her cheeks and leaned against the chair. She closes her eyes and took a deep breath while she tries to relax but felt her body shake a bit uncontrollably.
"Its all my fault...I am sorry everyone.." She mumbled and rubs her forehead as she stood up to put the books back to their place in the forbidden section - she had a bad feeling in her guts.
Her hands worked automatically and put everything how it was when she walked upstairs to get out of it - the priest went towards her.
"Are you okay, MIss Kradea?
You are very pale."
He asks her worried and she stops to looks back at him with a weak smile. "Don't worry, I'm fine as always."

The brunette didn't wait for an reply of the old man and continue to walk through the hallway to get away from this place. Her heart beat faster and her breathing got difficult. As she got out the Little Palace and took a deep breaths slowly while her eyes looked around to calm somehow her nerves but her amber eyes catch something that stopped her breathing.
Her head was hurting badly and she saw a elderly woman with blonde hair and blue eyes. Then a painfully memory got unlocked and she got lost in her memories again today.

Before 500 Years

"Everything will be alright, I promise, i will avenge Eugene for you." Aleksander promises her and kisses her hand and watches the girl in front of him. When a eldery woman stepped into the room everything got tensed between the two women.

"My son." Baghra greets him and Aleksander stood up to embrace her.
"I'm here, I'm here."

They pulled away and Aleksander walked back to Ira who was now sitting normally while looking at the old woman who glared sharply at her.
"Ira, i thought you would be far away from my son but here you are."
Baghra was surprised seeing the young girl who seemed as if she was the original of the past Ira who lived before 500 years, she hasn't change at all.
Same face, same hair, same eyes, same body - everything seemed the same.

"Baghra, i told you to accepted our relationship finally. I love Ira and she loves him, can't you be happy for your own son?" He told her frustrated and rubbed his forehead when Baghra took a chair and sit down. "I know but a mother knows whats the best for her own child."

A knock at the door stopped the conversation when Luda came with a tea in the room and put it on the table close to Baghra. Luda left quickly from the heavy tension in the room that no one wanted to feel. Aleksander kissed the forehead of Ira to reassure her that everything will be fine and he will not leave her, no matter what happens.
The old woman turned to the couple and gave them their cup of tea and some biscuit.

It was quiet in the room while everyone drank their tea and ate their biscuits while the sun was shining through the window. After awhile something felt wrong Ira's heartbeat got slower and her breathing got harder. She saw Aleksander laid his head on her lap and start to fall asleep while she went with her hand through his hair.
Even she felt right now not well and didn't realize where it came from - Ira still admired her lover.

"Well, Ira you know many say we die twice, once when the breath leaves our body and once when the last person we know says our name. This case had happens to you right now."
Baghra told her and stood up while she watches Ira confused expression.

"The tea you drank was poison by me, a strong one and my son drank a nice tea that will delete all the memories with you, he will not remember you when he wakes up. Don't try to wake him, he has now a deep sleep."

Ira had tears running down her face as she could feel the poison starts to work. "Why? Why you hate me so much? I never did anything to Aleksander or you."

Her hand stayed in his hair and watching her cupping her chin;
"I'm protecting my son for people like you, you can't give him anything. Nothing."
She pushes roughly her chin away and stepped back while watching her slowly dying in front of her eyes.

"When Aleksander finds out the true, he will hate you....
You are the monster that Ravka and the King shall kill, you - only you alone.
Not your son who just wants to protect his own people. Remember my words Baghra Morozova, the past never forgets."

The brunette starts to cough hard and holds onto her chest while she lowers her head to kiss the last time the forehead of Aleksander;
"Remember me my love..please.."
the coughing interrupting her words and took a deep breath as she continues to whisper; "I will be by your side as the sun in the day and in the night as the moon and stars.Shall my light protect you and guide you."
Her hand went the last time through his hair and pulled away leaning against the wall. Coughing blood at her last act she closes her eyes and died.
Her hand left his head and lays on the bed while Baghra looked without care at the dead body next to her sons sleeping body.

Present Time

Her eyes filled with tears as she couldn't move. She couldn't hear. She couldn't Breathe!. She couldn't breath.
Fears was coursing through her veins and everything came crushing back to her. The suffering. The beatings. The sadness. The guilt. The sorrow.

Every. Single. One.

Ira's breath started to quick as people around her watched her in curiosity but didn't helped her, yet they still talked about her but she heard none of it. By now her eyes were clouded, she was heaving in and out, she lifts her hand and looked at it but everything was clouded aswell her hand was shaking. Her heart starts to hurt and she grabbed her jacket tightly as she falls on her knees while she falls on her left side still breathing heavily and having her hand still on her chest.
She was curled on the floor curled up into a ball and her eyes were closed.

Aleksander was at the fountain and talked with Alina about Baghra's teaching skills when he heard people starts to scream and saw Ira fell down on the floor. He couldn't react and his legs quickly pulled him towards Ira who laid helpless on the floor.
"Ira! Ira"
His worried voice quiet the whole crowd and watched her be in pain.

'She is having a panic attack..'

He pulls her in his arms gently and lift her up bride style while he walked towards her bedroom to bring her to a safe place. Kirigan sat down on the bed and holds her close to his chest while he rubs her back.
"Ira, its me Aleksander.
Shh, its okay, take slow breaths and calm down. You are safe and i will not let anyone hurt you. Listen to my heartbeat, hey hey its okay, I'm here." He whispers and holds her tightly while her face was buried in his chest.

After ten minutes later her breathing slowed down and, and fell into a peaceful sleep in the arms of Aleksander. Onyx eyes watched her in worry and pushed gently the hair of her face as he saw the dry tears on her cheeks, a red nose and her lips were dry as if she cried the whole time. "What happend to you?"
He whispers and cradles her body closer to his while he stayed with her. No one can pull him away right now from her and no one could after he found out that he loves her, while remembering her again after so long, hell he would never let someone hurt her again. She is now under his protection forever even if she doesn't like it - its the best for her.

Hours later the young girl woke up from her slumber as she rubs her eyes while she felt a warm thing was over her body. She went with her hand over it and saw its the black Kefta of Aleksander.
"What had happen?
Oh right, i had a panic attack..and Aleksander cared about me.."
She mumbles and sit up while she moves her hair backwards when she saw dinner on her desk and water.
Her exhausting body aswell her soul were terrible as she sighed and slowly stood up to walk to her desk and looks at the food and water.

"I'm not hungry..."
She sits down on the chair and takes a sip of her glass of water while she hums at the feeling.
Her eyes locked at the cup and had teary eyes.
"I failed two times..forgive me.."
She whispers and stayed a few minutes like this as she stood up again and put the cup down on the desk.

Her legs guided her towards the room of Aleksander as she arrived at the door - her hand slowly open it when she sees the tall man with black hair in his casual and comfy clothes standing in front of the map. It was quiet until Kirigan turned around and saw the brunette at the door.
"Ira."

Amber eyes looked at the map while she steps inside the room and walking towards Aleksander stood.
"Am I..disturbing you?"
She asks him shyly and looks at the map in front of her while Aleksander watched her.
"Not at all, can't sleep?"
He asks her slightly worried and took a sip of his red vine while she still looks at the map

"I'm here...because I want to thank you."
She turns towards him and looks at his face.
"Thank you for carrying me to my room and also that you cared about me,
it was very nice of you.
I'm sorry for causing gossip and trouble for you from this accident."
Her voice was still weak but yet determined.

His onyx eyes locked with her amber eyes when he steps closer to her.
"I've lost a lot of friends. But that's nothing compared to all of the lost you've had to endure for so long.
Isn't it? Ira.
You will never have to lose another loved one again. You are not alone."
His voice was filled with empathy and concern for the brunette next to her while his eyes filled a bit with tears as he realized Ira.
Her left hand touch his cheek and the other hand holds his hand when the room got dark while light came out of Ira.

Aleksander gained through the light all memories he hadn't seen yet and Ira also between the two.
"You are not alone.
I will always be here."
She says softly and didn't realize that her magic light turned on through the touch from Aleksander. Ira was lost in the moment and looks at him.
His eyes widen when he saw the light came from her body and united with his shadows.

'Wait was she also a Sun Summoner?
No, the Light is different..

The light was shining in white - greysh-gold colours and was transparent while it made a protecting wall around them. Aleksander's eyes looked at it in awe.
His thoughts cut short when Ira pulled away from him and was shocked that this happened.
She never wanted that someone knew who she really was but now he found out her power - that she wasn't a healer.
More the light herself. Everything was to much for the young woman who had a overwhelming day.

Kirigan grabbed Ira's neck gently and pushed her head a bit up so he looks into her eyes while he rubs with his thumb over her cheek bones.
"I have been waiting a long time for you, Ira."
He told her softly and realised that she was his Ira, the one girl he loved before 500 years and now.
His soulmate and true love, his light,
his woman.
He couldn't understand why this memories of her weren't in his head? Why he couldn't remember her when he first saw her?
But his heart and soul knew who she was since the first meeting in this time, his feelings just got stronger with the time.

He was in deep thoughts but Ira disturbed his thinking while she pulled away completely.
"I should go."
Like she came before few minutes, she went quickly out the room and closed the door behind her.
She lays her back a bit on the door and could feel his presence behind her. The door was the only barrier between between.
Ira took a deep breath and walks quickly down the hallways towards her room who wasn't far away.

Arriving in the comfort of her own room - she took a deep breath and decide to take a bath to relax and calm down before she sleeps. She walks towards the bathroom and let the warm water fill the bathube.
Her hands find some oils to use and put of all few drops inside the bath.
Ira takes her clothes off and steps inside the bathtube who was now full of bubbles. Her hands played with them a bit as she leans against the bathtube and close her eyes to relax.
"I'm so exhausted.. "
She mumbles and sighed when she hears laughter across the other side of the bathtube.
The brunette open her eyes to see to see Eugene her twin brother chuckling and had his arms on the side of the bathube; "You are so exhausted.."
He smiles and chuckles when the young girl immediately jumps in the arms of her brother and hugs him tightly;
"Oh My God, Eugene!!"

"Wait! Are you really here?"
She asks him confused and looks at him with her amber eyes.

"Yes, Of course Ira. I live inside you.
I am always here."
Eugene told her as he holds her hand and Ira smiles at him while she leans back at the other side of the bathtube. "You just need to call me and I will be there."
He adds and continues to smile at his sister. They both laughed and start to threw the water against each other as both smiled. Ira leans back against the bathtube and furrowed her eyebrows; "I should run away to be free from everything and then maybe creating a family to help me focusing on the here and now, not on the past."

Eugene looked serious at Ira and leaned forward watching her.
"First of all no and b, do you really think that focusing is what you need?" He asks her with a smile and look at her face.

The brunette leans forward and Eugene also while she starts to cry with a sad smile; "Eugene, I don't know what happened..I remembered everything that had happened to us before 1000 years and 500 years, I failed every time to protect you. We lost everything and never had a good life at all. Now to realize that I live in the house where the monsters are who killed us and then this feelings for Aleksander...
I don't want them.. he is the son of the monster who killed me..and the fact that he knows my secret now.
My power..I am so sorry that I am nothing then a burden. Its all my fault we suffer so much Eugene..
Forgive me, please..."
Her voice crack and she lifts her head to look at the face of her brother who gave her a look of sympathy.

"There is one person who understands what you have been through and I slept on the same mattress as you,
I mean the Grisha and Non Grisha fucking killed me twice."
Eugene chuckles and Ira looks serious with teary eyes at him;
"I'm so so sorry.."

"Don't be sorry for surviving."
His dark brown eyes looks in her eyes and leans his forehead against hers. "You were the strong one and you always know that it will gonna turned out this way - thats why you held me so tight."

Ira starts to cry and Eugene comfort her with a sad eyes while he rubs his hands over her shoulders and back.
"Shh, Everything will turn out well,
I am here."
He whispers and let her cry everything out. The first time in her life she had a emotional collapse that drained all her enegry out.
"Eugene..please don't leave me."
She whispers and continue to cry uncontrollably while her brother holds her close.

Minutes later the young girl was laying in her bed and wore her nightgown while her brother put the blanket over her and laid on the other side of the bed - his back leaned against the headboard while he sings a lubally to lead her to a peaceful sleep;
"I will be there, I will be there,
just call my name and I will be there." The song ends the same time as Ira fell asleep with a small smile on her and her brother was gone.

Ira was alone and always was alone.
