Trap

While everything was proceeding at the banquet, the things at the enemy camp were also proceeding as planned. JunYi and FangXiong were transporting the captives as they had done for a long time.

The moon was partially hidden by the dark clouds above, the woods remained the same as the branches slightly swayed with a gentle breeze. It was slightly humid, and there was sound of crickets chirping and insects buzzing in the background.

They did not bring any mercenaries with them, only the white clothes puppet. Although, the mercenaries would not dare to speak of it as a slip of tongue is a serious crime in the Elder's camp, one that garnered death.

They didn't want to take any risks. Lest outsiders know about their secret activities and exposed them.

While the men are transported the captives, LuLing was at the camp as usual, controlling the puppets with XuJi as the both of them has the ability while CaiXia guarded the camp.

The captives were all sleeping in the caged carts. They were fed with sedatives beforehand as FangXiong led the way along the forest. "The route seems to be thicker than before," said FangXiong.

The young boy clothes in red did not say anything in reply as he walked after FangXiong.

"You really are the silent type. Not much escape from your mouth," said the big burly man.

Again, he was treated with the same silence, however suddenly, the boy touched his arm.

"Yeah, I know," said the big burly man.

FangXiong grabbed hold onto the big spear specifically made for his body. It was even taller than him and if it was taller than him, it would be taller than a normal human being while JunYi grabbed hold of his own weapon, a sword.

"They are coming," said FangXiong as his adrenaline increases.

"Die," said that man as he jumped out from the trees above.

He was able to stop it with his giant spear. However, more people jumped down from the above. It seems no end to them as JunYi and FangXiong fended them off.

"It seems that we are in a precarious situation," said FangXiong.

JunYi did not say anything but grinned. With a swipe from his sword the lanterns on the carts were all extinguished and two unusual pair of eyes was shining in the dark. One was yellow while the other was red.

They were part of the wolf clans too. One was deserted because he was too strong while the other was driven away because he was different.

They all come together under him, the elder who accepted all those faults.

"We are happy to be of use," said FangXiong and the both of them began their attack.

Using wolf eyes, they were able to see in the dark, and FangXiong pushed off the attacker. However, it seems that there were more visitors.

Through the corner of his eyes, another appeared; it seemed to be another being that resembled them, another similar creature, another wolf, not any wolf but one that is black, one of top greatest clans.

It appeared behind the man that he pushed away, leaped in his direction as it bit the burly man.

It took him by surprise as the wolf bit into his arm, a deep injury, deeper than any sword could have made. Its teeth bit through his skin, flesh, muscles, and tendons, crushing his bones, warm blood flown out from the wound.

JunYi tried to strike the wolf away which caused it to leap away, however the wound had been made, and the attack was successful. As she jumped back, the wolf materialized into a human and used her leg to stop herself from falling too far away. She used her toes and gripped onto the ground, and he stopped splendidly, with the back of his heel only a few inches away from the tree trunk.

The person was none other than HanFeng's mother, Madam Xuan. She had decided to help JinGe in her plan as well.

Partly it was due to her but other than that; the black wolf tribe had a score to settle with the Elder as well. She had been searching for him for quite a long time but they never thought that meeting with JinGe could led them to him.

"Black wolf," said FangXiong. He had never thought that he would encounter one of them here. "But nonetheless, it doesn't make any difference as we will kill you."

Even with his injured arm, the man could still raise his giant spear and swung it around.

The only thing that could explain such feats is willpower and the man had strongest of determination.

JinGe had estimated that the man's weapon of choice would have been a spear and the best time to ambush them is when they were in a forest as would be a lot of trees around which would hindered him from performing his best.

With a surprise attack from the bandits and also HanFeng mother's help, he would be heavily injured, but she did not expect that the man's ability hadn't reduced even for a bit.

FangXiong, with great strength and a combination of magic, using only one arm and his back to support the spear, he swung his spear around. It slashed through the forest, creating a huge clearing around them. The moon shone down on them, the carts were slashed horizontally in half, it was lucky that everyone was asleep that they weren't cut, however it was also because they are sleeping that even though their cart was broken, they did not escape.

JunYi who knew the man characteristic and after they have been working together for quite some time, knew what he would do, and ducked while Madam Xuan had to use most of her ability to predict the man. She had just narrowly escaped from his slash by bending her back forming a bridge with her body.

The moment it passed her, she quickly recovered and took a battle stance, ready to fight.

As discussed with the others the bandits will take over the fight with the big burly man while the Madam Xuan will take care of the red clothed boy. She rushed over towards the red cloth boy, JunYi without much thinking and sword held high up in the air as she attacked him, because she trusted the others.

And that trust was returned with trust; BuDao too offered his help by blocking the burly man's attack at the woman as she passed him.

JunYi blocked her attack with his sword; a screeching noise was made as the two swords clashed against each other as metal was dragged down as the two got closer. JunYi who does not speak much, smiled. It seems that these people do not underestimate him.

"They haven't just sent one person but two capable people to fight him," thought JunYi as another black clothes man appeared but same with BuDao he did not cover his face, he had a large scar on his left cheek.

The person was none other than ShiBa. Ah Zhong would love to come, however BuDao entrusted him to take care of JinGe.

While she attacked him from above, ShiBa rushed out from his hiding spot and ambushed the red cloth boy from the right. JunYi could see it coming, and he pushed away Madam Xuan, but she wouldn't let him and launched another attack.

Two attacks were approaching him and with FangXiong busy handling the other, JunYi was almost defenseless, however he was not worried at all, as they were correct to be daunted by him. He was not just another young boy, he was different.

JunYi held the sword in his mouth and transformed into a wolf. In the presence of the humans, he had no choice but to be a human; however, he was never a human on the inside. He was a beast, and his beast instincts took over when he was fighting, especially when he felt his life is threatened that his powers is the strongest.

Just like now, the fur on his back bristled the moment he changed back into a wolf. He was moving solely on instincts as he maneuvered himself away from the danger, however, he had estimated that no matter how he evaded he would still be injured, thus living by his life motto of an injury for another injury.

He defended himself against Madam Xuan with the sword in his mouth while letting ShiBa stabbed his side. However, he wouldn't let it end as such as he used his hind legs and kicked ShiBa aiming to kill him. He never said that an injury could not be returned with death. "A kick of death," thought JunYi. "An injury for another's death, which was more, his style."

However, when he kicked, the other black clothes came out from hiding and dragged him away, "Stupid," thought JunYi as he extended the talons on his leg and clawed ShiBa's chest. Blood began flowing out from the graze. It was not fatal, but it was not a light either.

"Oh well," thought JunYi as JunYi only thought ShiBa as another pest, who was below him. The only enemy in his eyes was the woman in front of him. "With that wound, they would leave me alone."

It's been a long time but currently ZuoMeng: To Dream is still undergoing some revisions but since I am entering the story into Wattys, I will regularly updating small parts of the stories (to be eligible for entry) so sorry for some minor mistakes and the seemingly shorter chapters (usually 1k).
