JinGe was not expected to be chatty with the woman and took out the hidden dagger that she carried and tried to attack her. However, XuJi used magic to block it. With a wave of her hand, even with all her strength, JinGe could not bring the weapon down upon her.
"You haven't told me about your identity yet? I can't die," teased XuJi.
However, HanFeng had caught sight of it and dispelled the magic done onto JinGe.
JinGe's dagger came down on XuJi. However, the woman instantly grabbed hold onto JinGe's hand, stopping her attack.
She looked over to HanFeng, but LuLing interfered. Before she could say anything to him, LuLing said to HanFeng, "Do not underestimate me. I am your enemy."
The young man retracted his sword and began a second wave of attack.
Although all of his attacks seemed to be random, yet before HanFeng realized he was already forced outside of the room where there was more room for him to attack him. LuLing raised his leg, trying to land a kick on HanFeng.
The kick managed to catch him by surprise and HanFeng felt the pain when it landed at his side.
"The boys seem to be enjoying themselves," commented XuJi.
"Who are you? Why are you here?" asked JinGe.
"Oh, you are asking me a question. I thought I was the one who was asking them, but I don't mind. I am XuJi. I am the wife of the Great Elder. He is my son, LuLing. A wife helping her husband, isn't that the proper thing to do," said XuJi nonchalantly.
"You are kidnapping people," said JinGe.
XuJi gave out an evil grin as she stood up from bed, her grip on JinGe's hand were so powerful that the dagger JinGe held fell onto the floor while the hand which held the sword pushed JinGe down.
"I do not only kidnap. I have also killed them," said XuJi with the smile still on her face.
It sent shivers down JinGe's spine.
"There are just ants. Doesn't even age more than a hundred."
Yet there is also a surge of justice and courage swelling in JinGe's heart. She strengthened her back and pushed back against the woman, "You are just a cold-blooded murderer," told JinGe.
"And I will be the killer who will kill you," said XuJi as she pushed JinGe away and began fighting her.
Meanwhile, outside the room, more white puppets arrived from XuJi's summoning. There were an intense fight outside as the puppets fought with the disguised bandits.
"We are being surrounded," said DanDan. "How could those monsters fight with DaJie and Sir HanFeng, and still manage to control all of them."
"No, we can get through this," encouraged BuDao.
"Their actions are a bit strange," stated FuHan who noticed their repetitive actions.
"Yes," agreed BuDao as they fought the puppets. "They seem to be moving in the same pattern." It wasn't as intricate as the bandits thought. The puppets, their movements were pretty predictable and dull.
"Follow close," said BuDao as he led the attacks with the others and were able to defeat them easily, however the puppets have advantage in numbers. Right after they beat some of them, more came to support the battle. It felt endless.
It was supposed to be a sneak attack, but it seems to have attracted more attention than they had hoped, even CaiXia arrived with the mercenaries which YongSan had hired.
"There is a party going on," said the young boy, CaiXia and he gladly joined in the fight with LuLing against HanFeng.
The situation wasn't in JinGe's best interest. They had already lost the initial advantage of the ambush, fighting in the enemy's territory with an increasing number of people on their side. It was looking bad.
Will JinGe overcome this trial in front of her? Catch the next train with more action packed, coming next week. Also we can't keep going on and on about JinGe. How about the others? Read next! (Coming next Wednesday)
