Zora POV

I knocked onto the front door of the Banks Household when Geoffrey opened the door for me

"Thank you" I told him smiling as we walked to the living room

"Miss Zora is here for Ashley's lesson" Geoffrey announced as I walked over to Ashley

"Hi peaches ready for you're lesson" I asked playing with her hair

"Time out who is this" a guy said walking up to me

"I'm Zora. I'm Ashley's tutor" I told him

"Zora this is my nephew Will from Philadelphia. He's gonna be staying with us for a while" Mrs. Banks told me

"Nice to meet you Will" I told him holding my hand out as he kissed it

"You must be a parking ticket because you got fine written all over you" he asked as I gave him a blank stare

"Are you done" I asked as he nodded

"Yeah" he said as I went go sit down by Ashley

"How's you're grandfather" Mr. Banks asked me

"He's okay but the doctor said he's getting weaker and weaker everyday" I told them

"If you ever need anything just call" Mrs. Banks told me as I smiled softly

"Yes Ma'am" I told her

"What you don't stay with your parents" Will asked me

"My parents passed away when I was 12 in a car accident" I explained to him

"I'm sorry" he told me as I nodded

"It's okay" I told him

"So are you from Bel Air too" he asked as I shook my head

"Um no I moved out here with my grandfather 3 years ago. We live across the street. I'm from New York" I explained

"Wow that's far" he told me as I nodded

"Yeah it was scary at first but now I got used to it." I told him

"Well I'm gonna take a swim before dinner" Mrs. Banks said as Ashley walked up to her mother

"Good luck mom the pool heater is broken. Don't you hate when that happens" Ashley asked Will

"Oh yes that is my pet peeve" Will said sarcastically as Ashley came sit back down

"You got your own pool in here" Will asked

"And a tennis court too" Ashley told him

"Yo this better than Love Boat. This boy gon be maxing and relaxing" Will said as he flopped on the chair

"No, no, no. Hold on. Just a minute, son. No, no, no. We promised your mother that you're here to work hard straighten out, and learn some good old-fashioned American values." Mr. Banks told him

"Dad, I need $300." Hilary said walking into the living room

"Hilary, your cousin Will is here." Mrs. Banks told her as she looked at Will

"Hi...Dad, I need $300." She said turning back to her father

"That's a lot of money, Hilary. What for?" Mr. Banks asked as she sighed

"I need a new hat." She told him

"For what?" He asked

"Probably her head." Will said pointing to his head

"Okay, like, I'm going on the Save The Ozone Celebrity Bus next Saturday, it's gonna be Bruce Willis and Demi Rob Lowe, Emilio Estevez or Charlie Sheen. I can't remember which. We're gonna take the bus all over town to protest air pollution and then we're gonna motor to the beach and have a big bonfire." She explained as Will raised his hand

"What?" She asked

"I'm not an expert or anything, but don't you think driving a big ol' bus around town, and then having a bonfire sorta adding to the problem of pollution?" Will asked

"Look, if this weren't a good idea I really, really don't think Ally Sheedy would be involved." She said

"Alright Pooh, we should start your lesson" I told Ashley as she grabbed her books

"Are you coming to dinner tonight" Ashley asked me

"I don't know Bug" I told her

"Please I can't make it at these parties without you" she begged as I looked at Mr. and Mrs. Banks

"We'd love to have you" Mr. Banks told me

"Thank you Mr and Mrs. Banks I'd be delighted to attend" I said

Ashley and I were sitting in the kitchen as I was helping her with her multiplication

"Can we make a card for Will" Ashley asked me

"Ok, but after we finish with your lesson" I told her as she smiled and we continued

After we finished with everything I grabbed my books as Ashley and I walked up to Will's room

"Miss Ashley, Miss Zora" Geoffrey told us

"That will be all, Geoffrey." Ashley and I told him curtsying

He left as we both laughed and walked up to Will

"That's all you got to say to get rid of him? I've been racking my brain." Will said

"Uh, this is for you." Ashley told him giving him the card

"Oh, thank you, Ashley. Oh, this is nice.
You're very talented." Will complimented her

"Well, I'm glad I'm good at something." She said glumly as she sat on his bed

"Huh?"

"I tried out for school chorus today but I didn't get in." She said as I sat next to her putting down my books

"How come?" I asked

"Well, when I auditioned for Mrs. Burkley I couldn't remember all the words to the song. The part I remembered was fantastic." She told us

"Oh Mrs.  Burkley I remember her. She was a giant" I said then looked at Ashley

"Female dog" I censored myself

"I'm sure it was. I bet you're def." Will told her

"That's what she said." Ashley said as he laughed

"No, not-not deaf deaf. D-E-F." He told her as she looked confused

"It's, that's just slang." I explained to her

"Means terrific, good, you know." Will told her as she smiled

"Oh, well, thank you." She told him

"You should try being a rapper. When you're rapping you mess up the words
and make up some new ones right there on the spot. So let's-let's try this,
I'll sing one line and you make up a line
to rhyme it." He told her as she nodded

"Alright. Let's see. Alright." He said as he thought for a minute and began snapping

Miss Burkley's chorus.. ♪♪ he rapped snapping as she stayed silent and snapped again

"I'm thinking, alright?" She said laughing

"Alright. We got all day." Will told her

"Okay, I got it." She said standing up as Will sat down

"Alright, here we go." He told her as he began snapping again

of Bel-Air buzzin' ♪ he rapped

and my rappin' cousin ♪♪ she said as they high fived and I laughed

Mr. Banks walked into the room as we turned to him

"Ashley, honey, why don't you go downstairs and get ready for dinner."

"I should get ready to" I said standing up brushing off my skirt

"Okay, daddy." Ashley said

"Bye, Will." We told him.

"Check you later, Ash. See you later Zee"  he said as we left out the room

I realized I left my books as I walked back up to Will's room

"Hey I left my books" I said as I grabbed them

"Hi Zora" Carlton, Ashley's older brother told me

"Hi Carlton" I said as he walked closer to me but tripped over his feet

"I didn't know you were here" he told me

"I'm here everyday" I said

"Yep" he said awkwardly

"Yeah" I said rocking on my heels as we looked at each other

"Well I should get ready" I told him as he nodded

"Yeah me too" he said as we both walked out the room

I went back home as I put down my books by the front door

"PaPa I'm home" I said as I saw him sitting on the couch reading a newspaper

"Hey sweetheart" he told me as I kissed his cheek

"The Banks are having a dinner tonight would you like to go" I asked

"Yes" he told me as he started coughing as I patted his back

"Are you okay PaPa" I asked as he nodded

"As okay as I will every be" he told me smiling. I knew he was getting worse he even knew but he always smiled and never let his sickness get in the way

"We leave at 6:30" I told him as I went to my room and started to get ready

I finished getting ready as I heard a knock on my door

"Come in" I said as I was fixing my hair. I had braided it into a crown around my head

"You look so beautiful" My grandfather told me as I smiled

"Thanks PaPa" I told him as he sat next to me

"I actually have a gift for you" He told me as he gave me a box as I opened it, it was a heart shaped necklace

"Oh it's beautiful" I said as I took it out the box

"It was your grandmothers then she passed it down to your mother now I'm passing it down to you" He told me as I looked up at him

"Are you sure she would want me to have this" I asked as he smiled

She wouldn't want anyone else having it" he told me as I smiled

"Can you put it on" I asked as he grabbed the necklace and put it on for me

"Zora. I'm so proud of you" he told me as I looked confused

"For what" I asked

"I know moving all the way to California from New York and losing your parents and losing your grandmother and dealing with it all is a lot for a 16 year old. You're becoming a beautiful young woman" he told me as I smiled

"Thanks PaPa" I told him as we hugged as he rubbed my back and kissed my forehead

"Now we should go before it gets to late"

My grandfather and I walked across the street the the Banks house as he held his arm out and I hook mine

We walked into the house as Mr. and Mrs. Banks walked up to us

"I'm so glad you can make it. How are you" Mr. Banks asked him

"I keep pushing" he said smiling

"That's wonderful" Mrs. Banks told him

"Sweetheart why don't you go talk to Carlton. I'll be fine" he told me as I nodded

"Okay" I told him as I walked up to Carlton. He was talking to someone as I tapped his shoulder

"Wow you look great" he told me as I smiled

"Thanks you look great too" I told him when Ashley ran up to me and hugged him

"Zo-Zo you made it" she told me smiling

"Of course I did" I said looking down on her as we went sit down

We turned pur head and saw Will walk in. He had on a hat with a suit and bowtie but a bright tank top underneath and some Jordans

"Well, Steve, David, Henry, James this is Will, my nephew by marriage. Will, these are my partners in the law firm
of Furth, Wynn, and Meyer and Zora's grandfather" Mr. Banks said as Mr. Furth held out his hand and Will slapped it

"Hey, Earth, Wind, and Fire! When's your next album coming out?" Will joked

"Nice to meet you" My grandfather told him as they dapped as I looked shocked when did he learn that

"Grandfather" I asked

"There's a lot of things you don't know about me child" He told me

"Uh, Will is going to go to Bel-Air Academy with Carlton." Mrs. Banks told him

"Oh! Good for you, Will. I used to fence at Bel-Air." Mr. Furth told him

"That's great I'm one of the Headmasters. I'll look out for you" My grandfather told him

"Really? How much you think we can get for that stereo?" Will asked

"Oh, these, these hors d'oeuvres look tempting." Mrs. Furth said

"Hey, don't mind if I do." Will said as he grabbed a grape and titled his head back tossing it into his mouth

We were sitting down for dinner as I sat next to Carlton

Will was tapping the wine glasses like a drum as we all started at him

"Will! There are other people at this table." Hillary said as he stopped

"Oh. You're right. Any requests?" He asked

"Sweetie, would you say grace, please?" Mrs. Banks asked Ashley

"Yes, mommy." She said as we all bowed our heads and closed our eyes as she cleared her throat

my name is Ashley Banks ♪ she rapped as I lifted my head and opened my eyes

♪ My family and friends want to
give you some thanks ♪ she continued as everyone stared at her

♪ So before this dinner's
all swallowed and chewed ♪ she kept rapping

♪ Thank you God
for this stupid food ♪♪ she finished as I smiled and Mr. Banks smiled awkwardly

After dinner My grandfather and I were walking back to our house as we were talking

"Well that Will sure his something" my grandfather said laughing as I did too

"Yes he is. I like him" I told him as he nodded

"Me too. I feel like he's gonna give The Banks a little bit of a culture shock" My grandfather told me

"Or a stoke" I said as we both laughed
