General (POV)

On a hill top a mile away from Bunnyburrows there was a cloaked figure laid on the top. Binoculars in their paws, they studied the scene before them. The aftermath of the battle between Beute troops was still visible. The blood of the fallen staining the long grass that was trampled and flatten. Bodies were still visible on the battle field, and the glint of the sun bouncing off metal happened every once and a while as weapons and armor were taken.

"You fucked up big time, Schaf." the figure spoke. "Gotta report this to the praetor."

Slowly the figure stood into a crouch and moved back from the hill. Once behind the hill they stood and walked towards a small camp, a sleeping bag, a campfire and an ATV, a quarter mile away from the hill. Once they reached the camp they moved straight for the ATV. Digging into the storage in the back and pulling out a military grade satellite phone. They quickly turned it on, dialed a number, and waited for someone to pick up.

"Hello?" a deep, gruff voice answered the phone.

"This is Sicarius Fenir." the figure said. "I wish to speak with the Praetor."

"She's busy." the voice said an annoyed tone in their voice. "I'll give her your message."

"No." the figure said shaking their head. "This is for her ears only."

"Well I'm sorry bu-" a second voice could be heard in the background. This one was higher pitched and sounded more feminine. "Its nothing ma'am just some guy claiming to be a Sicarius...Fenir....very well."

"Niklas is this you?" a famine voice asked over the phone.

"Yes praetor." Niklas said. "I'm reporting from Bunnyburrows."

"What news do you have?" the Praetor asked.

"The Burrows might join us." Niklas said studying his surrounding

"Is that so?"

"Yes praetor." their hood being blown off a strong breeze. The weather beaten face of a face was revealed. Their fur was a deep orange with black fur surrounding their snout and the his of his ears. Their eyes were a deep brown and were filled with caution and intelligence. "The beute attacked their own village. They are more than likely to join now."

"I will tell videte Gardens about this. Meet her at her house sometime today."

"Yes ma'am. Sicarius Fenir out." with that said Niklas Fenir ended his call. "Gardens. Its been a while, wonder if she still wants me dead."

In no rush Niklas packed up the majority of his camp. Leaving only his bed roll out, lazily he played down and closed his eyes. The sun was now at its peak and was shining brightly down on the Burrows, shining directly in to his face. Niklas lazily pulled his hood up and over his eyes and slowly drifted off to sleep.

(Nick POV)

"Are you okay?" was the first thing I heard when I got back to the house and it was asked by Judy. Not surprised.

"Just got a scratch here." I replied pointing to my left eyebrow. "Other than that I'm fine."

"What happened?" the gazelle asked looking down at Zoey.

"The army we fought was a royal beute task force." I heard her reply, a defeated tone in her voice. "And they only take orders from the Führer herself."

"Führer?" I asked. What the hell was that?

"Its like your Elder but..." Zoey paused most lickely trying to find the right word.

"More royal?" I suggested. "More power hungry? Dictator? Monarch? Selfish? Cruel? Heart-"

"Okay we get it!" Zoey shouted out of frustration. "You dont like our leader. God you dont need to keep insulting."

I stood straighter and looked down at the brown bunny. "I've lost a lot of my life because of your Führer. I hate them with all I have."

"N-nick please calm down." I heard Judy say a hint of fear in her voice and I immediately backed down. I didn't want to scare her.

"Sorry." was all I said before I left the house. I jumped up and grabbed the roof of the porch, I swung three times before throwing myself onto the roof. Landing on my feet I scaled the second floor and went all the way up to the roof. Once on the roof I plopped down on the roof my back to the burrows and my front to the Valley.

"Nick? Nick? Nick where are you?" I heard Judy's voice calling out from the porch.

*Is she looking for me?* I thought to myself. I haven't met anyone else named Nick while I was here.

"Nick please come out." Judy called out again, but a sad and desperate tone in her voice.

Before I knew it I was standing on the porch roof. I crouched, grabbed the edge of the roof, and hung down with one hand. "I'm here." I guess she wasnt expecting me to hang down from the roof like a monkey because she jumped so high she almost hit the roof.

"Oh my god Nick!" she shouted at me angrily. "Dont do that! You gave me a heart attack!!" with that said she put her hand over her heart.

"Oops." I replied dropping down onto the porch a smirk on my face. "I didn't want to scare you."

"Are you being sarcastic?" Judy asked her nose twitching slightly. Damn she was cute.

"There's a possibility." I answered a small chuckle escaping my lips. "What's up fluff?"

"Dont call me fluff."

"Okay carrots."

Judy wanted to say something but stopped herself. "I actually like that."

"Good to know." I gave her my pocker face. Half lidded eyes with a sly smirk. "So what's up?"

"Why did you leave like that?" she asked a small tint of red coming from under her fur. Unintentionally, my ears drooped and my poker face faltered but I quickly put it back on and smiled. "Just needed some air."

Judy's nose moved slightly and her ears perked up. "You're lying." was all she said pointing and accusing finger at me.

How did she know? Maybe it was the falter in my poker face?

I gave a defeated sigh and looked away. This bunny knows me. We haven't been in each others company for long and she already knew when I was upset.

"I don't wanna talk about it." was all I said before heading back inside. I heard Judy sigh and follow me back into the house. I wanted to tell her what was wrong but as a Cursoribus our trust levels were low. Even with those in our on teams and ranks we were told only our part of mission. Nothing else. Most of the time we went in blind given only small clues as to what we were doing.

"Nick." Zoey's voice broke my thoughts and brought me back to reality. "Chief Bogo wants to see you in his office."

"I dont know where it is." I replied with a shrug. I really didnt care either, but I held that part back.

"I can show you." I heard Judy suggest from behind me. I looked over my shoulder and saw Judy giving Zoey a pleading look. Almost like she was asking permission to take me there.

"Alright." Zoey said. "Judy's taking you to the Chief's office."

"It'll take a while though." Judy said as apologaic tone in her voice.

An idea popped into my head. "Do you guys have a motorcycle or something like that?" I asked looking around.

The Gazelle pointed towards the back of the house. "There's ATV in the back." her voice having an audible Spanish accent.

And I couldn't help but smile at the news. I would have preferred the traditional  Cursoribus dirt bike, but I guess an ATV would work. "Alright lets go carrots." I said heading straight for the back door.

"Carrots?" I heard Zoey repeat a confused tone in her voice.

"I like it." was all Judy said before following me to the back. "The keys are on the hook by the door." she called out pointing to the hooks right next to the door. In one smooth mover I grabbed the keys and opened the door. I walked out and looked around spotting a red ATV parked close to the door.

"That it?" escaped from my lips before I could stop it.

"Thats it." Judy said looking at the ATV. "I've never rode on and ATV."

"Really?" so far everyone I've met has been or had experience with an ATV or motorcycle. "Not once?"

"Nope." the Grey bunny replied shaking her head. "But if you know how to drive I would like to ride with you."

Quickly I sat down and turned on the quad, which with a whine started. "This thing needs a tune up."

To my surprise I felt Judy hop onto the back seat and wrap her arms around my torso.

"Ready?"

"Ready."

Without a second thought I gased the bike at full throttle and sped towards the road. I forgot that Judy was with because I wasnt expecting someone to shout and hold onto me tightly from behind.

"Omg slow down!!" she shouted burying her head into the back of my cloak. Chuckling I eased off on the speed until we were on a steady pace. "Did you slow down?" I heard Judy's muffled voice ask, the vibration from her voice sending goose bumps down my spine.

"Look for yourself." I replied ignoring the goose bumps. I felt Judy lift her head slightly but felt something on top of my...package...I looked down and saw. Oh my fucking god! It was Judy's paw! I was so focused on her paw that I didnt notice the dent in the road, and at the speed we were going it, we hit it hard. So hard I felt it jolt up my body and...oh my god she's grabbing it!

(Niklas POV.)

I watched as a fox drove out from behind Zoey's house. A Cursoribus? And he wasnt alone, riding in the seat behind him was a small Grey bunny who looked like she was holding onto the fox for dear life. I stayed in my position until the fox and bunny were well our of sight and waited an extra 10 minutes before I moved across the valley towards the house. I moved swiftly through the valley keeping close to the ground until I was at the house. Cautiously I stood up my senses on high alert as I made my way to the door of the house. Before I even got to the porch the door opened and a brown and black blur of fur came crashing down on me. I wasnt expecting anything to come from the house so I was caught off guard and fell back as the blur hit my torso, quickly surrounding me in a hug.

"Niklas!!" the angelic voice of Zoey reached my ears as the hug tightened on me. "Oh my god its been so long!"

"It has." I replied coolly before returning Zoey's hug although not as tight.
