Zombie Girl XII. Fury

Zombie Girl XII. Fury

You had...spoken, formed words without stutter or slur. Reno blinked once, twice, three times trying to process that information in his head. He was certain Rude felt the same. You clearly were not an undead zombie, well at least, not a normal one.

You ignored your protesting body as your intense glare caused the redhead to involuntarily shiver. You felt that familiar rage flicker to life within your hollow shell of a body.

The lights flickered suddenly and a loud piercing siren went off. After moments off flashing lights, they switched off leaving everyone in utter darkness. You were the lucky one though. You could still see in the dark, thanks to the infection. Although you couldn't say the same to the other infected. They seemed to track their meals by sound and smell. In all honesty you were pretty sure they were blind.

The two turks cursed as they fumbled around for anything that would emit light.

Your earlier adrenaline rush had woken you up somewhat and look glanced around in confusion. What was that alarm and why had the lights gone out?

Your ears pricked to the sound of something elevating, lifting up in front of you...

The bulletproof windows.

The same windows that acted as doors for the cells were lifting up!

It wasn't just your cell however, it was the other 9 cells which had also opened, freeing the other undead beings from confinement.

Thinking quickly you dashed out from your cell and made a b-line for Zack.

The next thing Zack knew was that he was being dragged by someone, away from the sudden emergency. However instead of the deafening alarms blaring in his ears, everything went silent as he focused on the small, cold and slightly wet hand that latched onto his wrist pulling him along.

From the flashing lights the ravenette caught glimpses of your (light/dark) matted hair and smaller body running in front of him. He hadn't touched you in years...but he could clearly remember the way you had felt back then. Warm, and soft. This was very different. You were colder, harder, and held many scars that littered your body. Even in the current situation he couldn't help but feel a sadness overwhelm him as he ran behind you. Where had his sweet little (Y/N) gone? Possibly buried deep beneath this new rock hard exterior.

Escaping the cell was easier than you both thought, but you knew sooner or later you would run into more turks or security. You had to think sharply and act fast.

Running through the hallways, you came to a halt, Zack almost crashing into you from behind.

"Zack, they won't be after you, so get yourself to safety quickly! I'll find my own way out." You said struggling to stand properly while in your current state. Your wounds were numb to you, but the exhaustion still affected your undead body.

Putting  a stern look on his face Zack stepped in front of you and grabbed you by your shoulders.

"I told you already!" He spoke firmly, no ounce of the childish boy you once knew him to be in his voice. "I'm not leaving you again. I'm going to get you out of here myself."

You saw the storm raging in his baby blues, you saw the angst that had been built up year after year...after losing you. It squeezed your stone heart, causing it to create the beginning of a crack.

You were brought back to your senses as a flurry of heavy footsteps came rushing towards the two of you.

Escaping without a fight was not an option it seemed. It was time to release that inner fury that was seeded into your undead body. That fury that made you the monster you were.

"Stop where you are! Don't move!" A shout sounded, the feet grinding to a halt accompanied by the sounds of loaded guns being pointed.

Not sparing the soldiers a single glance, he looked you dead in the eye.

"(Y/n), go, I'll follow in a bit, I promise." His words made your brow furrow.

"Zack no! I can fight with you!"

"ON your knees both of you!" The lead soldier ordered.

Time seemed to slow as to your surprise, the ravenette smiled and cupped your dirt covered cheeks gently and said softly, "Go. I'll see you again soon. You can count on it."

You almost didn't register the next moment as you felt a pair of soft lips press to your forehead. The soldier's angry commands in the background and the alarm going mute in your ears.
