Zombie Girl IV. Where the bodies are (Part 1)

Zombie Girl IV. Where the bodies are (Part 1)

Seven year old (Name) walked in step with Zack as he led her to his friend's house with a bounce in his step.

"Don't worry he'll love you! He may look all menacing and mean but really he's just a big gorilla," Zack grinned trying to get a laugh out of you. It didn't work. You weren't so good with other people or even socialising for that matter.

Zack didn't bother to knock as he charged into his friend's home with a proud grin. "Hey gorilla! (Name)'s here I've finally brought her over like I promised!" Zack yelled.

"Z-Zack you really shouldn't barge into people's homes regardless if they're your friend's or not." You scoulded lightly. He sent you a sheepish grin, silently apologising.

“She’s exactly right puppy. You have no manners at all.” Angeal scowled stomping down the stairs. He was momentarily swept up by your appearance, the innocent beauty your features held and your delicate looking frame.

Without realising his cheeks tinted pink ever so slightly as he caught himself staring for too long. You stood closer behind Zack as a small blush claimed your cheeks. Angeal was fairly handsome and though his frame and figure was similar to what Zack had described you couldn’t help but disagree and think he was quite handsome and well built.

The brunette gave you a kind smile in which you returned. Maybe you could get along with someone other than just Zack…

The humid stuffy air punched Zack right in the face as he stepped out of the truck. The smell of death filled his nose making him scrunch his face up into a foul scowl. It was as if the other side of the city was a completely different dimension. Even the sky wasn’t right. Crows came in big black thunder clouds, almost eclipsing the sun.

"Zack, I hate to bring this up but, what happened to..." Angeal couldn't finish for he knew it would bring Zack's mood down lower than it already was.

Zack paused in mid step looking at the sight before him. A graveyard. A shiver ran down his spine and he swallowed thickly. Why? Why did it have to be a graveyard of all things?

“D-do we have to go through there?” Zack asked. Angeal rolled his eyes and shoved his friend forward rather roughly.

“Get moving you puppy.” He sighed.

The two stalked cautiously towards the silence of the graveyard. Zack's fear remained solid as he stepped through the gates and entered, Angeal in tow. There was an eerie silence. It was too quiet and as they both advanced further, Angeal felt the rise of something awful creeping up in his gut. Something bad was about to confront them.

Zack tripped causing him to plummet into the mud face first. Fear crippled him as he turned to see what had caused him to fall.

A hand. A single pale muddy hand stuck out from the earth and gripped onto his ankle. Zack managed to stifle his scream and struggled to break free of its grip but his attempts were in vain. He couldn’t call out to Angeal for if he made any noise it could attract more unwanted undead. The ravenette reached for his weapon that he had dropped as he was tripped. His heart dropped when he realised that it was too far away for his to reach. He kicked and kicked as silently as he could but nothing was weakening the hand’s iron grip.

Terror ripped through Zack as the earth around the hand began to rise ever so slowly. Relief washed over Zack as he saw his gorilla like friend finally come to his aid in a hurry.

“Zack!”

The ground before the grave began to lift, as if a tree was suddenly growing at abnormal pace. Instead of a tree that emerged from the ground however, it was a body. A girl’s body. A very familiar girl’s body. Her hand still held Zack’s ankle in an iron grip and refused to loosen.

Zack was frozen in place as he stared in horror and awe at the dirt covered girl. It was (Name), he knew what his eyes saw but refused to believe it. (Name)’s eyes were locked onto his still form with a hungry predatory glint in them. Dry blood was caked around her chapped lips.

“(N-Name)? Is that you?” He stuttered finally finding his voice. You were far from hearing his words properly for you were not in your right mind.

Even Angeal hesitated before chopping the hand off of Zack’s ankle. He also recognised you. Your lips curled into a malicious sneer that showed your bloody teeth that looked as if they belonged to something other than a human. A wolf perhaps, or even a tiger. You advanced on your prey having no clue of who Zack even was at that moment. Instead Angeal decided to roughly tackle you off and away from his fallen friend.

You let out an animalistic snarl causing Angeal’s eyes to widen as he saw the hellfire that burned in your (e/c) eyes. A great sadness dawned over the brunette. You were lost. He didn’t want to believe it, he tried his hardest to convince himself otherwise just as Zack did, but there was no changing the situation. You were undead, and hungered for flesh and blood. Their flesh and blood. In your eyes they were nothing but meat bags and sacks of food.

A sudden boost of power pumped through your veins and with inhuman strength you threw Angeal off of you shocking both him and Zack. The undead did not possess that kind of power. They only had the strength of what they had when they were human, yet you had literally thrown Angeal half way across the graveyard. You staggered onto your feet focusing your insane gaze onto Zack once more.

He scrambled to his feet and wearily drew his sword watching your every move. He didn’t know what to do. He couldn’t bear the thought of his own blade impaling you. No, he knew it would be impossible for him. The ravenette tried his best to calm his rattling nerves and force his hands to stop from shaking.

You darted towards him at lightning speed almost knocking him off balance and met his blade with your bare hands. He gasped trying to recoil his steps and make you let go of his weapon that you currently had clutched tightly in your hands. Your blood bloomed from the tight hold you had on the sharp blade. Sweat dripped and ran down Zack face as he watched the crimson liquid form rivers down your arms. It was your hold against his. Although he held the safe part of the sword and you the blade you still had the upper hand even if you were wounded. You felt no pain at all. You felt nothing at that moment apart from devouring your shaking meal. With one swift tug you pulled the sword from Zack’s firm hands and lunged for his throat.

Knocking him over with brute force you straddled Zack and cut off his airway, causing him to wretch and claw at your hands. Black and purple spots began to fill Zack’s vision. His lungs begged for oxygen and his brain started to slow. His feeble attempts to remove your hands grew sluggish and he knew his time was up.

Fortunately Angeal came to the rescue once again and took action. Yet again he slammed into you cringing as he heard something snap inside of you and you were thrown across the dirt.

A rib or two had cracked but that did nothing to stop you from standing as if but a mere fly had swatted at you.

Angeal fumbled with his rifle that was attached to his back and inserted the special bullets. Before you could charge again he aimed, and without hesitation pulled the trigger. The force of the bullet made you stagger, but you never fell. Angeal had no idea of how long the tranquiliser would take effect but it sure as hell wasn’t doing much at the moment. You charged like an enraged bull at the brunette with bared fangs and clawed like nails. Angeal dodged your first strike with infuriating ease and lifted his rifle up once more and shot. This time your movements were slightly more sluggish and slow but still held a lot of power and speed.

“Jesus! I thought one would do it. (Name), what have you become?” Angeal mumbled. You seriously weren’t an ordinary infected. There was no way the undead held the force, power and speed that you possessed at the moment. If it were any other undead person they would have been down by now. Angeal didn’t want to think about what monster you had become and morphed into. When he had first met you, you were the most angelic thing he had ever seen in his life. You had looked so fragile and timid from when he had first laid eyes upon you. It was far from what he saw now. Complete opposite. As of right now you were a demonic angel of death that thirsted for battle and blood…
