Chapter 32

"Hello, Minako."

"I thought I was never gonna see you again, Uo." Minako smirked.

"What are you doing here?" She growled.

Minako tsked. "Is that the right way to greet your former leader?" She started walking around Uo and Kyo.

"You don't receive any greeting from me." Uo spat, glaring at her.

Minako's eyes flashed a cold stare then relaxed. "So tell me, what have you been up to lately? After all, the last time I saw you was when you told us you were quitting the gang."

"I've been keeping my distance from all of you." She muttered. "I focused on my education. And keeping Tohru safe."

"Oh right! Kyoko's little girl." Minako snickered. "I never knew you became her body guard. You and Saki Hanajima."

Uo narrowed her eyes. "Why are you really here for?"

Minako paused and lifted a finger to her mouth.

Suddenly, a dozen of girls jumped out from behind the bush surrounding Uo and Kyo. They were all wearing the exact same uniform as Minako, with white masks that covered their nose and mouth. Each girl held a nun chuck and rope. Their faces were blank with no expression.

Uo noticed that Kyo stayed quiet the whole time.

"I'm here because we have some unfinished business to take care of." Minako stated. "When you left our gang, The Ladies, you took some very important information with you."

"What information?" Uo growled.

"Information about us." She spat. "Where our headquarters are, the type of weapons we use, the kind of drugs we took so that other medications would have no affect on us. And now since you left the gang, we have no choice but to end you. Who knows how many people you've already told about us."

"I told no one about you!" Uo retorted.

"How do we know you're not lying?" A tall girl next to Minako spoke. "After all, you're not one of us anymore. I'm even surprised that you survived when we beat you half to death the day you decided to leave."

"You wouldn't be alive now, if it wasn't for that Red Butterfly, Kyoko, to come and save you." A red headed girl sneered.

"Silence you idiots!" Minako barked, and the two girls abruptly stopped snickering.

Uo stood there panting. It took a while for me to forget those memories... And now they decide to bring it up, like the asses they are...

"Please don't mind Kasumi and Riko." She cooed. "But they're right. After all you did, you deserved the punishment we gave to you."

"Well damn, no wonder Uo left. You girls are a bunch of snobby rotten bastards." Kyo blurted out.

Minako laughed, clearly amsued. "And who do you think you are? Oh! Are you Uo's boyfriend?"

"No he isn't." Uo interrupted before Kyo could say another stunning comeback. "Now if you'll excuse us. We're leaving. Now."

But before Uo and Kyo could turn around and, leave four girls quickly tackled them to the ground.

"Hey what the hell?!" Kyo shouted.

Two of them pinned Kyo on the ground and started wrapping his arms with the rope in their hands the other two did the same with Uo who flailed under their grasp trying to escape.

"Get off me!" She yelled.

Minako came and stood over Uo smirking. "I told you Uo. You know we have to end all this. We could've avoided this problem a while ago if you hadn't decided to leave in the first place."

Kyo muttered. "You girls are stupid if you think that she would-"

"Its not gonna make things better if you talk back to them Kyo." Uo heaved. "Just shut up for a little bit."

"Yes dear, listen to your girlfriend." Minako snickered.

"She's not my-" Kyo's sentence got cut off with a muffle yell. The two girls tied a white cloth around his mouth and gagged him.

They did the same to Uo and wrapped the cloth in her mouth. She gagged. The cloth tasted like her grandmas cooking and that was not a good thing. She tried moving her arms but they were tightly strapped behind her.

"Good." Minako nodded. "Now knock them out."

Before Uo could process what was going on, she felt a sharp pain from the back of her head and her vision turned black.

---------------------------

Uo slowly opened her eyes and groaned. Her head ached and still stung with pain from the impact. She looked around warily and found herself tied in a metal chair. Her mouth was still covered with the disgusting cloth. She sat in the middle of a room which had no windows but a small light bulb dangled from the ceiling.

She heard a small click of the door opening in front of her her. She looked up and saw Minako walk inside.

"Well looks like your finally awake." She smirked, carefully untying the cloth from her mouth.

"How long have I been out?" Uo asked. Her voice sounded hoarse.

"Three hours."

Uo glanced and suddenly realized that Kyo was no where to be found. "Where is he?"

"Who? Your boyfriend?" Minako snickered.

"Tell me where he is." Uo growled.

"Kasumi has staged a little surprise for him." She informed her. "We can't let anyone get in the way of our plan, now can we?"

"Your sick." Uo spat.

"I'm only doing what's right." Minako said. "You could've grown up to be a wonderful fighter, Uo. But I guess it was never meant to be judging by your actions you made on the day you left."

"I left because I wanted to become the person Tohru is proud of to call her friend." She replied, voice cracking.

"That girl is the reason why you've become soft." Minako explained. "If it wasn't for you meeting her mother, you would've stayed here with us."

"I'd rather die than stay with you!" Uo snapped.

"That could be arranged." She pondered. "Still, we need you alive for a couple more hours. I'll come back and get you when the time is right."

With that she flicked her brunette hair and walked out the room, slamming the door behind her.

Once Uo heard her footsteps walk away, she let out an ear piercing screech. Tears started forming in her eyes and she blinked them away.

Tohru might be wondering where we are now.. And who knows what they're planning to do to Kyo.. This is all my fault. I shouldn't have left before.. I already put everyone in danger now that Minako knows all my friends.

Now I've put Kyo's life in danger...

Uo tried pulling her hands free but the rope was tightly wrapped around her wrist. She pulled them again and again. Her wrist burning from the rope and she could feel her skin beginning to blister. It was no use trying to free her legs either.

So she waited. No matter how many seconds passed which frustrated her, she kept waiting.

For what seemed like forever the door finally opened revealing Minako and the redheaded girl Uo saw before.

"Riko, untie her and make sure she doesn't get away." Minako ordered.

Riko nodded and went behind Uo and started working on the rope around her wrist. Uo felt it fall away and become loose. Once the rope was completely off, Uo jumped up from the chair gaining a surprised yelp from Riko who jumped backwards. Uo bolted towards the door but before she could sprint outside she heard a click behind her.

"I wouldn't so that if I were you." Minako sneered. "You don't wanna have a 2 inch bullet passing through your brain now do we?"

Uo stopped from where she was and turned around. She held her hands in the air in surrender and flashed Riko a death glare, who returned one back.

"Wise choice Uo." Minako praised her. "Now you stay close to us and don't you date try anything to retaliate."

She nodded and followed the two girls out of the windowless room. She stared at her wrist which were covered in dried blood from her struggle to free her hands from the rope. Uo trudged behind them down a long hall, up ahead she could see a door which led outside. One of the girls guarding the door opened it for them and they walked outside.

It was still heavily pouring and the sky was covered with dark gray clouds. They were all standing on a balcony which overlooked a street. Few cars passed by with their bright headlights on. It wasn't a high balcony, and Uo could easily see the ground which was covered with thick bushes.

"Why are we here?" Uo asked briskly. "What do you have planned now?"

Minako chuckled. "Nothing that concerns you, I hope. We just wanted to give you a front row seat of the wonderful surprise."

"What surprise?"

She pointed her finger towards the street. Uo slowly turned her head and gasped. She saw Kasumi, the tall girl from before, dragging a large sack bag behind her. She watched as Kasumi opened the sack, and pull it off a person who was inside. And that person was Kyo, his arms were tied behind him and so were his legs. It was hard for him to stand so whenever he had to regain his balance he had to hop.

"What are you...?" Uo's voice faltered.

"Why dear, we're just showing him his surprise." Minako cackled. "And oh boy is it to die for."

"No.." She croaked. "Kyo! Kyo!"

She cupped her hands over her mouth and yelled his name repeatedly.

She saw his orange head turn towards her. She could hear him call her name.

Minako pulled put a walkie talkie from her pocket. "Kasumi, get the car ready."

"The car??" Uo screeched.

"Here is our present for you Uo." Minako smirked. "Killing you would be fun, but watching someone who is close to you being killed is even more so. This will teach you lesson for leaving us before."

"Why are you doing this to me?" Uo sobbed, she glared at her with pure hatred.

A flicker of sympathy flashed in Minako's eyes but only just a second. "I'm sorry." She finally said. "But I can't let you go on with your life with secrets of our existence still in your memory. I have to protect these girls... They're the only ones I have felt."

Uo stared at her with tears flowing down her cheeks. Then she turned back to where Kyo stood in the middle of the road. There were no cars in sight anymore

"You'll understand someday." Minako snapped. "Now I'll give you choice and you will have 10 seconds to answer."

"What is it?" She kept her eyes glued on Kyo.

"It's either you or Kyo who will go through the pain. Kasumi is sending a car out there and someone has to get hit... Will it be you or Kyo?"

"I.."

"The countdown starts now." Minako smirked. "I don't care who dies or doesn't, all I know is that it will be a very painful accident."

10

"No I don't know.." Uo whispered.

9

"It doesn't have to be you, Uo." Minako replied. "Go ahead and let him get run over. He means nothing to you anyways."

8

"But that's not fair!"

7

"It is, because you'll live." She insisted.

6

"But Kyo.." Uo breathed.

5

"Well that's unfortunate for him."

4

"NO!" Uo jumped off the balcony and landed on the bushes. She felt thorns pierce her skin but she didnt care. Then she bolted towards the street, tears clouded her vision.

3

"Uo! What the hell are you doing!" Kyo shouted.

From the corner of her eye she could see the car coming towards them.

2

"I'm saving you, orange top!" She yelled back. Once she got close to him, Uo used all her strength and pushed him aside towards the dirt next to the road. He stumbled on the ground and turned towards her.

"NO UO!" He screamed.

"Tell Tohru and Hana that I'll be okay!" She cried.

1

"This is.. Goodbye." She whispered.

Uo felt herself fly backwards as the car hit her. Everything went in slow motion. She could hear Kyo yelling her name, the rain pouring from the sky, her body flying through the air from the impact. She didn't feel the pain, everything felt numb.. The world spinner around her and she felt herseld slowly dying.

This is probably one of the worst ways to die... But I did it so that Kyo won't have to go through the pain.. Everyone is better without me making mistakes..

Uo finally hit the ground with so much force she tumbled and rolled. She felt her skin tear away from her bones, her blood turned ice as the pain started to kick in. She came to a stop and her breath came into rapid gasps. Uo stared up at the sky and sighed. The last thing she saw was Kyo running up to her.. Then the world disappeared and became pitch black.
