It wasn't everyday that the water signs expected to hear Skyler screaming in fear at his phone. In fact it wasn't like him to scream "NOOOOOOO!!!" at eight in the morning.
Carol jumped out of her motel bed and rushed Skyler on the couch. "Skyler?!"
"What happened here?" Sabrina walked out of the bathroom in a robe, rubbing her wet newly cut hair with a towel. When Skyler refused to answer, she turned to Pete nearby. "Do you know what happened?"
Pete shook his head. "No. Skyler never screams in fear much." He side-eyed Colin who tiredly rose from his bed. He knew that was a lie, Skyler did scream in fear- a couple of times actually. Just not in public. "Maybe he saw a bug on his phone?"
"Maybe he...." Colin rubbed his eyes and yawned, "he had a jump-scare?"
"Or maybe..." another voice whispered. The group jumped to find Phoebe standing behind them menacingly. "Maybe he saw a ghost. I heard something spooky happened in this motel."
Pete blanched. "W-wait, you aren't serious, right??"
"Phoebe... not now." Sabrina pinched the bridge of her nose and sighed. Of course, Phoebe would bring that up. Lately she had been talking about mysteries from a podcast she had stumbled upon. It kept her and Carol up all night when Phoebe told them about a case to the point that she is banned to talk about it.
Carol frowned. "Phoebe, we spoke about this. Please do not bring up anything spooky from those podcasts. You made a promise."
"Did I?" Phoebe crossed her arms and pondered. "Oh wait, I did. My bad."
"Either way," Carol turned to Skyler. "What happened?"
Skyler showed his phone. "Look."
The others examined the post. Pete crossed his arms. "Isn't that Gilberta's recent post?"
"When did Gilbert get green hair?" Carol zoomed the picture closer.
"He got it recently." Sabrina stopped rubbing her short hair. "Everyone has been getting new looks lately and posting it so he joined in."
"How do you know that? Did you play a part in that."
"I... no comment."
"Sabrina, don't you 'no comment' me."
"This ceiling looks nice."
"SABRINA-"
"What?" Sabrina glared at her housemate. "I just saw it on social media and... may or may not encouraged him to make choices on his own."
"So you are the one who told him to get green hair?"
"I never told him that, Ca-rol! I just told him that he's free to do anything. Do you need proof?" Sabrina dropped her towel on her assigned bed and took her phone off charge. "Hold on a second."
"Wait..." Colin interrupted. "I just noticed how you two look different than usual." Colin turned from Carol's shoulder length hair to Sabrina's new do which is chin length. "You two look really good!"
Forgetting their previous conversation, the two smiled. "Thank you."
"Guys, guys, guys. Back on topic." Phoebe clicked her fingers. "Skyler, are you telling us that you're scared of Gilberta's green hair?"
"What? No!" Skyler showed his phone again and pointing to something. "Look at the caption."
The group walked closer and squinted to read the caption.
"'A little something for someone in mind'?" Pete read aloud. "And you liked the post too." (the fact that even I am shipping Gilbert and Skyler 🧍♀️)
Skyler unliked the post. "I don't get what you are talking about."
Sabrina snickered. "Skylie's in denial~"
"Am not!" Skyler argued back. He pointed to his phone. "Look closer at the caption."
"Aww there's a red heart and a scorpion emoji, that's cute." Phoebe smiled.
"What's so scary of a red heart and a scorpion emoji?" Pete smirked. "Are you scared of loving your own people? Are you scared of Scorpios?"
Phoebe played along. "Imagine being scared of your own sign. That's embarrassing." (smh)
"Why would I-" Skyler sighed loudly. "You don't get it, do you?" He frowned. "Have you noticed how Gilbert acts around me as compared to everyone else." Silence. "No? Well I think this caption is directed at me. Like a 'I love Skyler and Sabrina' type of way."
"You're.... looking too much into this, Skyler." Phoebe sat next to him. "Personally I find that cute. I mean if Tyler puts a heart and a fish next to it then I'll be happy to see that seeing that he cares a lot."
"Or maybe he cares about seafood?" Sabrina shrugged. She noticed Phoebe crossed her arms. "What?"
"Look, Skyler. I know that you are upset and scared. There's nothing wrong with that at all. But how about you focus on something else instead?" Carol sat on the other side of Skyler. "Like we can go to the beach, get some ice cream or maybe do something else to distract yourself? We are on vacation away from home and we can't think about Gilbert right now."
Skyler turned his phone off. "I want to go home. And confront Gilbert." Everyone else agreed with Skyler on the going home part. Well, everyone but Pete.
"Go home?" Pete sat across from him. "Already? We haven't even got souvenirs yet! And you want to confront Gilbert."
"There's nothing much to do here!"
"But we need something to remember this place by!!"
"But is that important?"
"No. No, it's not but it does distract you. There's this one gift shop." Pete clicked his tongue trying to remember "Think it's near the motel. One of the locals told me. We can go there."
Silence. Then Skyler got up. "What time does it open?"
"In two hours. Why?"
"Just asking."
"Still doesn't answer my question..."
"We can go get something for ourselves here and then come back here and pack our bags to go home. That's my plan for today, unless we got other options."
"I want to visit the cute bookstore before we leave." said Phoebe. "And I want to see the beach here one last time."
"Then let's do that alongside breakfast and lunch then." Skyler nodded. "Then we can go home."
=⭐️= (Zoe is looking through wedding dresses. One of the dresses captured her attention- one with glitter suited for a princess which is off shouldered with short sleeves)
It was unusually silent in House 1's living room. The air signs alongside Alex, Leo and Sam were all gathered in the living room, sharing a common silence amomgst them. Only the clock's ticking was heard around the room.
Tick. Tick. Tick.
"Well then..." Gilbert spoke out in the silence. "I thought our welcome would be more exciting. Not this."
Tick. Tick. Tick.
"You know who we need right now to lighten the mood?" Aika asked out of nowhere.
There were mixed answers. Most if the group stated that everyone needed to be there. Gilbert, however, answered loudly, 'Vivian, Sabrina, Skyler and Vincent'.
"That is a very specific answer, Gilbert." Lizzy chuckled.
"They're entertaining to be with."
"Are we talking about the same people here? I mean I get Sabrina but..." Arlen had to stop himself from saying more.
"You see, you underestimate them. They are so fun to be around."
"By 'fun' you mean, annoying them, right?" Arlen asked.
Gilbert clicked his fingers and pointed at Arlen. "You get it." He then pointed to Leo. "How come you are not happy to see me?"
Leo looked up from the couch. "Pardon?"
"I didn't hear any excitement from you. Are you not happy to see me?"
"I'm happy to see you." Leo nodded. "I'm just processing."
"Processing what?"
"The hair colour."
"Oh." Gilbert nodded. He couldn't remember the last time Leo spoke to him. They were a duo before. Two peas in a pod. Then something changed and they didn't talk much.
A silence followed afterwards. Everyone waited until somebody spoke.
"You know, Gilbert wanted it neon green." Levin interrupted the awkwardness. "He wanted to have it that colour so things can brighten up."
"That's a sh## hair colour." Arlen frowned.
"I mean personally I'm fine with whatever Gilbert chooses." Levin examined Gilbert's hair. "But I had to convince him to not make it neon."
Gilbert touched his green hair. "Honestly I like this current look. I look awesome!"
"You look like a broccoli." Sam pointed at the hair.
"Looks more like leaves of a tree." Alex observed the hair.
"It looks like-"
"Let's not continue this." Giselle covered Arlen's mouth before he could speak more. "I think it looks nice, Gilbert."
Gilbert couldn't believe his eyes. "...You're lying, aren't you?"
"No." Giselle smiled. "I mean it." And may the author remind you, this is a lie. She personally agreed with the others but she didn't want to upset Gilbert.
"Um... can you take your hand off my mouth now?" Arlen's voice muffled behind the hand.
Giselle removed her hand. "Sorry."
"It's okay." Arlen smiled down at her. Giselle smiled back.
Lizzy scoffed. "Ew. Get a room."
"You have Alex, what are you talking about?" Giselle crossed her arms.
"At least we don't make it like a rom-com."
"Lizzy..." Aika nudged her housemate next to her.
"You always talk about him and its so obvious! How about you two just kiss and get together!"
"Wow, someone's eager." Sam looked between Lizzy, Arlen and Giselle.
"Sam, not now..." Aika shook her head. "And Lizzy, you okay?"
"Sorry, I'm just sick and tired of this-" Lizzy hid behind her face. "I wasn't thinking what I was saying. Just these two talk about each other a lot and I can't take it anymore."
"Why? It's not like it affect y-"
"Please be quiet, Gilbert." Aika looked up at him and frowned. "I know you just got back, but let's not keep bringing this up."
"Aika, you should become the leader of this group. You seem to know what you are doing." Alex crossed their arms. Aika, not knowing what to respond, gave a nod. The clock on the wall ticked again.
Tick. Tick. Tick.
"You know, as much as I love you all, this is a rather boring conversation." Gilbert paced around the room. "We need some spicing up in here. Something that gets the conversation moving. Not boring silences and arguments, you know?"
"Normally I would tell you to shut up, but you're right." Arlen let his hands down, accidentally brushing his hand with Giselle's. "For once."
"That's when you're wrong!" was Leo's voice. "Gilbert can be right sometimes but he has a point."
"Now that's the Leo I know!" Gilbert pointed at Leo, who appeared to brighten up from before. "Not going to question the 'sometimes' but who cares! We should all do something to make things less awkward."
"Well, we were at the shopping centre before." Sam recalled. "But got a sudden call to come back."
"The new one?" Gilbert inquired. Everyone else nodded. "Cool, cool. Let's go there and you can pick up from what you did before. A shopping spree! How about that?" Everyone else murmured in agreement. "That settles it! Let's go shopping! WOOHOO!"
The others whooped and cheered. Gilbert felt a hand on his shoulder and turned to find Levin with a proud smile across his smile. He smiled back. What else is he supposed to do? They all needed to cheer up.
Plus he could not stand the silence.
=⭐️⭐️= (Zoe and Bob are looking through flowers for the bouquet)
At the new shopping centre, two girls were seated at a table together near a cozy yet crowded cafe. The two girls sat across each other, their drinks in front of them. A third seat was left empty besides some shopping bags sitting on the cushion.
The first girl, one with long curly blonde hair tied into a ponytail wearing an off shouldered blue top with boyfriend jeans, picked up her cup. She looked across at the other girl. "You know I am still confused about you."
The other girl, one with medium brown skin who is wearing a cream coloured suit, did not look up from her phone. Her acrylic nails tapped as she typed on the screen. "What do you mean, Lillian?" She brushed her long dark braids over her shoulder which is tied into double ponytails.
"Please don't use my full name, Sienna."
"Why not? Lillian?"
"Just call me Lily."
"You know." Sienna put down her phone. "Because I kept calling you that, it sounded pretty boring. Lillian is a pretty name, anyways."
"With that logic you could call Sam, Samson. And Lizzy, Elizabeth."
"Elizabeth???"
"That's what Lizzy, stands for, right? Either that or Lizzy is her actual name. But that's not my question." Lily blew at her latte, cooling it down. "My question is, why are you wearing a suit?"
Sienna spread her hands out, careful not to spill her pink drink. "Hey, suits are cool. I mean look at this! I look awesome!"
"Yeah you do but Alyssa and I dressed casually. You on the other hand." Lily took a sip of her latte. She furrowed her eyebrows and fanned her mouth with her hand. "Should have asked the barista to put two sugars in..."
Sienna leaned back in her seat "You're jealous that you didn't think about wearing a suit."
"I'm not jealous."
"Hmm denial.." Sienna smirked and swirled her pink drink. "At- its- finest."
Another girl joined them at the table with a kids' mealbox and placed the bags on the floor. The girl who arrived was a familiar donut lover with long wavy ginger hair and was dressed casually like Lily. The only thing that is different is her wispy bangs.
She dropped the mealbox on the table and sat down. "Finally, got it. The line was crowded." She noticed the other two's drinks. "Oh, you got drinks. Cool!"
"Hey, Alyssa. Want to try the pink drink?" Sienna offered her half done drink.
Alyssa, hearing that, turned to her friend. "You want me to have your drink?"
"Well, we're best friends, right? Isn't it normal to share drinks?"
"Uh... think I'll pass." Alyssa looked away, hiding herself behind her waves. She felt her face heating up.
"Are your ears turning red, Alyssa?" Lily asked before taking another sip.
"What? Um.." Alyssa covered her ears. "You must be dreaming."
Sienna laughed. "It's okay to be embarrassed, Alyssa! I should not have asked that question." She then chugged down her pink drink.
"So what's in there, Alyssa?" Lily looked in the direction of the kids mealbox.
"Oh I got a chicken snack wrap with fries." Alyssa opened the box and took out her food. "I also got chocolate milk but that's in my backpack."
"I can guess." Lily noticed the grey small backpack on Alyssa's back. "Don't you need anything else? The meal looks-"
"I'm not that hungry anyways. Besides I only got this because..." Alyssa pulled out something else from the mealbox which is a small cylinder with one clear side with beads and another side with a peephole.
Sienna gasped. "A kaleidoscope!"
"Yep!" Alyssa looked through the kaleidoscope. "I am planning on giving this to Vivian. The shapes and colours are pretty here too!"
"I don't understand why you are fascinated over it or even bought it but-" Lily put down her finished cup.
Alyssa gasped. "Are you questioning the toy?"
"No I just-"
"This is a present for Vivian! And you do that." Alyssa took off her backpack and pulled out her phone from inside. "I'm telling on you."
"You're acting a bit childish right no-"
"Oh, I'm childish?" Alyssa pointed at herself. She got into a call with someone. "I don't think so."
"Come on Alyssa, people are going to stare at us-"
"Hey girl!" a voice called from Alyssa's phone which sounded like Vivian.
"Hey, bestie! You won't believe what Lily did." Alyssa spoke towards the phone. "I got a kids meal and Lily was like 'Eww so childish' and I was like 'You are you to call me childish when you have no personality'. And then-"
Lily snatched the phone away from Alyssa and faced Vivian on the screen. Vivian looked like she was too busy fixing her pigtails and her fringe. "She's lying Viv. I would never say a thing. Alyssa is just making stuff up. Even ask Sienna."
"No, Sienna believes me. Right?" Alyssa winked at Sienna.
Sienna winked back. "Lily was being mean to Alyssa, Vivian." She smiled. "I saw it with my own eyes."
Alyssa snatched the phone back. "See Vivian? Please tell her off."
"Please Aly, I am trying to focus. Find a solution on your own." was Vivian's voice. Another inaudible voice called out in which Vivian added. "Hey look, I got to go. Tahlia just called. Restaurant reservation."
Then the call ended. Alyssa tsked. "Mommy Vivian is not being a good mother isn't she?"
Lily buried her head behind her hands. She wanted to cry. She heard Alyssa chew loudly. "Please... one peaceful day. Is that too hard? Please."
That's when she heard some familiar voices.
"You wanna know what's annoying?"
"What's annoying?"
"Esculators that are stairs."
"Hey, didn't we have this conversation earlier?"
Lily perked up. She recognised that voice. Turning around in her seat, she recognised the air signs alongside Alex, Leo and Sam, emerge from the escalator. She waved excitedly. They noticed and walked in her direction.
"Is that Lily?" was one of her friend's voices which sounded like Aika.
Lily jumped off her seat and leaped into Levin's arms. "You came!"
"That's what she said." Gilbert coughed. Everyone else stared at him. (help why did I giggle)
"Leo!" Sienna got out her seat and ran over to her friend.
"Sienna!" Leo hugged Sienna.
"Gilbert!" Gilbert dramatically called out as he popped out, jump-scaring the two.
"Mmph!" was Alyssa's voice as she ate her fries.
"When did you come back?" Alex interrupted the moment.
"Today." Lily answered as Levin put her down . "We are just visiting here since we heard its a new addition here. We didn't go to Zodiac Street yet. Our luggage is in the car."
"It's so nice to see you again." Levin whispered.
"I am happy to see you too!" Lily smiled. She gave a glare in Alyssa's direction. "Alyssa was being a massive pain. I am so glad I finally have backup."
Alyssa turned and poked her tongue out.
"Where's everyone else?" Sienna looked around. "I know the earth signs are away but the water signs?"
"Still not here, unfortunately." Aika answered.
"Oh..." Sienna noticed Gilbert's green hair. "Nice hairdo."
"Thanks!" Gilbert flicked his hair. He turned to Arlen. "See? Told you people would love it." Arlen rolled his eyes back.
"I'm guessing everyone here is here to visit the new shopping centre." Lily predicted, even though it was an obvious prediction.
"Well, yeah!" Lizzy nodded. "We are just catching up on the disrupted time. You want to join us?"
"Sorry, we can't. We are planning on returning back home to unpack." Lily shook her head. "We already shopped here enough."
"We?" Alyssa raised an eyebrow. "Who's we?"
Sienna slumped her shoulders. "Do we have to leave though...?"
"You can stay here with everyone else if you like." Lily turned back. "I can go home alone. Just so I can relax. But I am taking the shopping bags." Her two housemates lightened up. "You two enjoy yourselves and don't frustrate the others."
"Thanks Lilian!" Sienna clasped her hands.
"You're the best!" Alyssa added, after finishing her meal.
"Says the person who called me mean." Lily muttered under her breath. After saying goodbye to her friends, Lily headed off by herself, shopping bags in her hand and nothing more than thoughts of returning. She missed home.
And plus she needed time to herself.
=⭐️⭐️ ⭐️= (Bob and Zoe are back home, practicing their dance, and Jay is watching)
Skyler pushed the last luggage into the back seat of one of the cars. "That's the last of it." He wiped his forehead with the back of his hand. A small bag was plopped onto the luggage. "What the?"
"That's the souvenirs." was Pete's voice from inside the car. His face emerged from the back seat. "Thought it would be a finishing touch."
Skyler slammed the back door of the car shut.
"Can't believe the vacation is over already..." Carol walked over and looked up at the motel. "I have fond memories of this place."
"Be honest, you found this vacation boring."
"No, not really. Colin and Phoebe made it better." Carol pointed a thumb behind her where Phoebe and Colin sashayed down the parking lot with sunglasses and feather boas. The two were laughing loudly.
"Hey Carol, how do you work this GPS?" Sabrina's voice called out from the other car.
"Hold on Sabrina, I'll handle that."
"You're lucky." Skyler placed his hands on his hips. "You got Sabrina to drive with you. I got the rest."
"Yeah but," Carol stepped forward and pointed at his chest. "I got most of the luggage which took over the back seat."
Skyler chuckled. "Still." The two had a laugh. Skyler always heard her laugh and always found it pretty. She was daylight, her bright laughter brought smiles all around. He was the moon, silently watching over, wanting to see more.
He missed her.
"You probably heard this a thousand times but your laugh is really pretty."
"You always told me that." Carol smiled. "Back when we were together as well."
"And I mean it every time."
"I know." Carol crossed her arms. "Reminds me of what we were. I miss it."
"I miss it too. I kinda wish we are back."
"Me too, but there's a reason."
"I am aware. And whatever choice you make, I'll respect that."
"Awww..." Then Carol hugged him. That is until Sabrina walked over.
"Am I interrupting something?"
"Just a chat." Skyler stroked Carol's hair.
Sabrina crossed her arms. She looked at Carol. Then Skyler. Then Carol again. Then Skyler again. "A chat?"
"You sound suspicious about it, Bri."
"No it's just." Sabrina sighed loudly. "I always think that you two are still together. I miss it. You actually treated each other well. Why-"
"It is what it is..." Carol noticed Sabrina had frowned hearing that. So she offered one of her hands for extra room in the hug. "Group hug it out?" The three, like peas in a pod, embraced in a hug.
"Hey!" a voice called out. The three looked up to find Phoebe standing there. "How dare you have a group hug without me!"
"And me as well!" Colin added in.
One of the car's doors opened and Pete jumped out. "And me too!"
Carol laughed. "The more the merrier!"
Then all six water signs got into a group hug. It was them against the world. It isn't what they were used to but they only have each other right now.
"Let's head back now." Skyler announced as everyone pulled back from the hug. "As much as the vacation is fun to some, we need to head back."
Phoebe placed her hands on her hips. "You just wanted to confront Gilbert, do you?"
"And so what if I do? Someone has to give him a piece of his mind."
"Or maybe you just want to see him again." After laughing at her own comment, Phoebe darted into the bigger car followed by Pete and Colin. Skyler sighed loudly.
"Sabrina." Skyler gestured both his hands in her direction. "Can you drive the bigger car? I don't want to deal with the others right now."
"Do I park the car in your driveway when we get back? I'll drive but just to make sure."
"Yes. I also set up the GPS. Also," Skyler dug through his pockets and fished out the car keys before he plopped them on Sabrina's hand. "Here are the keys."
"Cool, cool. Thank you." Sabrina noted.
"And make sure that you blast music for the three in the car."
"Got it. I got the perfect playlist." Sabrina twirled the keys around her finger and caught them. "We should head off. See you both later!"
"Bye Brina!" Carol waved. She looked up at Skyler. "Well, let's head back then."
"Yep." Skyler nodded before they hopped in the car. He made himself comfortable in the passenger's seat. "Back to Zodiac Street."
"Did we return the keys?" Carol adjusted her GPS and added the address.
"Yes we returned it."
"And all the luggage are in the cars?" Carol put on her sunglasses.
"Yeah. Why?"
"Just checking." Carol chuckled. She held onto the steering wheel. "Let's head home."
"About time." Skyler agreed. Carol had started the car and reversed out of the parking spot before turning left to the motel's exit. Skyler leaned back in his seat and dozed off.
They are going home.
=⭐️⭐️⭐️= (They are all dancing together!)
Now all we need are the Earth signs. And the Water signs too but they got time here in this chapter shush. Honestly I miss these characters so much.
It may seem like things are taking a slow pace for now as the group is slowly getting back together. But things will be back to normal-ish. Honestly I am excited to write these characters again which have hopefully improved.
I have some things planned in advanced. Including the finalised finale of this book. When that day comes of the finale I don't think I am ready. But it's planned out, ready to end a major chapter.
P.S: I am still typing chapters on my phone and its sad at this point.
