Chapter Five

POV VIRGO

I sat in the classroom with Libra, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Taurus, Scorpio, Cancer, Leo,  and Aries. We put our chairs together so we were in a circle, and we put a single desk in the middle.

Mrs. Rowan was unexpectedly sick today, and the principal was off making phone calls to see if a substitute was available. So far there hasn't been.

"This is great! If we don't get a teacher we don't have to do any work." Leo said laughing. He put his feet up on his desk. We all laughed, then Capricorn pushed Leo's feet off the desk.

"It would be great, except this is only our first class. We still have second period and third period to worry about."
Capricorn said.

Leo dramatically putting his face in his hands. "Oh the horror."

"Oh yes it is a tragedy." Aquarius said entering the room with a sad looking Pisces on one side and a worried looking Gemini on the other. "Homework will definitely be the death of us" Aquarius continued crossing her arms.

"Yes. There is nothing worse then having to spend your evenings doing something that will help your future." Gemini also said sliding into the seat beside me staring lasers at Leo. I could see that Aquarius and Gemini are in a very sarcastic mood.

"What's wrong?" Cancer asked. He was always the first one to speak up if it looked like someone had a problem.

Pisces had tears welling up in her eyes. "Well, let's just say, it's worse than homework."

Pisces told everyone about the girls who bully her, and I soon realized that the bullying was the cause of her vlogging less often.

"Rosa." Scorpio said. Her face was serious as usual, but she always knew the answer. This often infuriated me because she was so good at figuring out puzzles, or people, but was horrible in social situations and school; and she doesn't even care.

Aries, Sagittarius and Leo all looked at each other and make a gagging face.

"Rosa?" Aries said.

"She's always been a bully." Sagittarius said.

"I can't believe I dated her once." Leo said.

"I can't believe I let her pay me to do her homework." Capricorn said with his head in his hands.

Ok then. I thought. Rosa sat beside me in my math class which was next. "Don't worry Pisces." I said to my best friend. "I'll fix this for you."

Suddenly Pisces gave a look of anger at all of us. "I can't believe you! I know you're only trying to help but you all have just jumped to conclusions and think I NEED help. Maybe I can handle this in my own. Is that hard to believe? Maybe I'm stronger than you think. And maybe I'm tired of you all treating me like a baby!"

We were all shocked, including me. Cancer and I, have been Pisces's best friends since kindergarten. She was always so shy and cried so much that we looked at her as out little sister. Someone that always needed protecting.

"I forgot she isn't a little girl anymore." Taurus said, still in shock.

Aquarius laughed and tried to make the mood lighter. "You known she's older than you, right?"

No one else laughed. We just watched as Pisces stormed out of the room. Cancer got up. "I'll go check on her." Then he ran out after her.

~~~
What would you have done?
My best friend ran out of the room upset, then my other best friend went after her. Of course, I chased after them!
But in secret, of course.
"Pisces wait up!"
Cancer called after our blonde friend, and she stopped at the end of the hallway.
I hid behind a corner and angled myself so I could see them, but they couldn't see me.
"What do you want Cance?" Pisces asked glumly. I've never seen her look so down.
"I want to know how long this bullying has been going on." Cancer said. Pisces huffed a little. "Since the beginning of the year. I already told you."
Cancer took his red baseball cap off of his head and wrung it in his hands, like he did when he was nervous. "Pisces, I know you're upset with everyone, because you think we don't think you can handle yourself, but we do think that you can."
Cancer gave her a lopsided grin. "Do you know what I mean."
Pisces laughed just like I expected her to. Everyone (myself included) have always found Cancer's innocence adorable.
"Yeah, I guess I sort of exploded back there, huh? There were just so many emotions bottled up inside of me, that I just let them all out." Pisces's eyes started to tear up again. "Everything is just so hard and-"
Cancer gave Pisces a big hug, and held on. The two of them are pretty short, but Cancer is still taller than Pisces. He dropped his hat on the ground and held on tighter. I couldn't help but realize how cute of a couple they would be.
"Awww." I said out loud. Shoot. I pressed my back against the wall in order to keep out of my best friends' sight. When I was sure the coast was clear I peeked my head around the corner again and saw that the two of them had separated. Pisces's face was bright red and so was the back of Cancer's neck.
What happened. I thought. All of a sudden, Pisces shot down the hallway, away from Cancer and myself leaving Cancer alone.
I crept out of my spot and ran in place for a while to make it seem like I had been running. Then I ran up to Cancer.
"Hey Cance. Where's Pisces?" I asked him. "You two took such a long time I came here to find you."
Cancer looked surprised. "Uh, I don't know where Pisces is. I never ended up finding her."
Liar. I thought, but kept it to myself. "Alright. Come on, we can go back to the class and get some others to help us find her." I said starting to walk back. I heard Cancer's steps behind me.
What happened? I thought again. You look away for two seconds and all of a sudden the entire mood shifts.
~~~

"Bye Virgo!"

"Bye Libra!"

The two of us live a block away from each other so we walk home together.

Today was pretty chilly, and I wrapped my sweater around me tighter.

"Note to self, bring a light jacket to school tomorrow." I said aloud.

My brown curly hair whipped around my face as the wind blowed, but I didn't mind. I looked to my left and saw the long brown fence that lined the perimeter of the Dexter Mansion. I lived next door to it, but there was never any movement so it was like no one lived there. But sometimes, in the middle of the night, I could hear the sound of glass breaking, next door.

"Kris Pop Kris Pop Kris Pop"

I jumped at least ten feet into the air. Somewhere behind me a voice was saying something. I paused, but I didn't hear anything else, so I kept walking. When I made it to my front door, there was a crunching noise. The noise similar to the one made when you step into a particularly crispy bundle of leaves. I turned around and found a figure standing on the sidewalk. It had a large hood covering its face, but I could see its hand. On its hand was a tiny silver ring with a symbol.

The symbol was a silver circle with a line through it making it look like the yin and yang sign, but without the two circles. Then in the middles was a rusty triangle. What an interesting symbol.

"Kris Pop Krip Pop." The figure in black said. I soon realized that the man (I decided it was a man), was saying what I had heard earlier. The hairs on the back of my neck stood up and without another thought I walked inside and shut the door tight. I didn't want to outside, breathing the same air as that freak.

"Mom, I'm home!"

My house wasn't the biggest, but it was cozy and just big enough for my dad, mom and myself.

There was a smell of brownies wafting in from the kitchen. My mom poked her head out of the kitchen door.

"Welcome home, sweetie. Your dad went to the mechanics to get his car fixed up. You start on your homework ok? I'll bring up some snacks later."

"Ok mom." I rolled my eyes. I love her to death, but she doesn't need to tell me what I need to be doing every minute of the day. I walked up the stairs and put my backpack on my chair in my room. I took out my phone, from my back pocket and held it in my hand.

"I have to tell someone." I decided. The man was creepy, but not in the regular creepy. Like powerful, evil creepy.

I unlocked my phone and went to my texts. On the one hand I could text Pisces, but she's still upset. On the other hand I could text Cancer, but he was avoiding me all day. After scrolling through all my contacts, I decided to text Taurus.

(In case you can't read the image above I repeat the conversation below.)

Hey Taurus

What's up Virgo?

Do you know what Kris Pop means?

...where did you hear that? And yes, or at least I think I do

Some weird guy in a black cloak was following me and kept repeating that. Is it a bad thing? Please tell me...

I need to ask Capricorn.....

(Text ends here)

"Why do you need to ask Capricorn?" I thought aloud. "Note to self, get Taurus and Capricorn to explain everything, tomorrow."

~~~
Hey everyone! What did you think of this chapter?  I felt that I should probably just start cutting to the chase, so I brought the black cloak guy in.
Why would Taurus need to ask Capricorn?
What does Kris Pop mean?
Who is the guy in black?
Is the symbol he's wearing important?
And what happened between Cancer and Pisces?
Let's find out in the nest chapters! Don't forget to vote and comment anything, and everything. (Well not everything. I would like to keep the comments to no negativity, but constructive criticism is always accepted.)
Bye!!!!
